Went to JP's Bistro after the movies, which is in Martinez. It is a very nice place, that serve breakfast and lunch, also have a small dinner menu on days they close at 9pm. Had their breakfast, I got a hamburger patty with eggs and my gf got Canadian bacon with eggs. The Canadian bacon was nice thick and tasty. The service was excellent friendly, attentive, and food came out fast. It has booths and tables, the lighting not too bright. I want to try their other things on the menu like their prime rib and their lunch menu. If you're looking for another breakfast spot or even takeout in Martinez, JP's Bistro is a place to go.

Early dinner and we ordered the classic club sandwich, the Reuben sandwich, and the chef's salad. All were good and came out of the kitchen pretty fast. Sweet potato fries or onion rings as alternatives to regular fries is nice!

If you're looking for a good food spot to grab lunch with colleagues and friends, go to JP's Bistro. Cozy and casual, JP's Bistro offers a variety of items on their menu from egg scrambles to breakfast burritos to sandwiches. I went to JP's to grab lunch with a colleague while we were passing through the area for work. The lunch hour was warm and inviting. The restaurant was full of workers like us passing through to grab a bite to eat. At the tables, family and friends sat, catching up with each other over plates piled high with sandwiches and fries. The servers greeted us, and my colleague and I were quickly seated. We were served glasses of water. After looking over the menu, I ordered a crispy fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. It wasn't long before the food came out, and did it look good! The sandwich sat on the left; a generous piece of fried chicken rested on a layer of sliced pickles and mayonnaise, all between two fluffy buns. The fries had been piled onto the right side of the plate. It was a boldly simple presentation. I picked up the sandwich and immediately put it back down. The chicken was still piping hot from the fryer, and the heat scalded my fingertips. I started on the fries instead. Warm and comforting, each fry was a couple of delightful bites of crispy goldenness and starchy potato. When the fried chicken sandwich had cooled just enough, I took a bite. Delicious! Fluffy bread, crispy batter and juicy chicken filled my mouth with a tender yet satisfying crunch. The pickles brought a bit of balance and tang with them, and the creamy mayonnaise and sweet buns rounded everything out. I would have stayed longer, but we ended up taking the rest of our lunches to go since we were short on time. I was glad for the to-go boxes. They were spacious enough for my lunch; I piled the rest of my lunch into a box with ease. My time at JP's was an enjoyable one. If I'm working in the area in the near future, JP's Bistro would surely be one of the places I'd recommend to my colleagues to grab lunch.

So good! Great food and flavors! Fish tacos are amazing with crunch from veggies and a bit of kick. The ultimate skillet was hot and filling. And so glad we had the cheezy bacon fries. The bacon and cheese made it a standout. Service is always good. Many locals and workers stop by. Friendly vibe.

Hey there Party People, I have to say I've never been a fan of take out for obvious reasons. Jp's Bistro has changed my mind the food was still warm when we got it home and the fries and onion rings weren't soggy. I ham the Ham Melt. It was not greasy and just super tasty. I am an onion ring snob so it takes allot to impress me. These onion rings were still firm and crunchy considering then were take out....the flavor was spot on as well. Hubby got the Tuna melt and gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. Thought the fries were good. My Friend Got the Salmon Salad. She loved it and the Salmon was blackened to perfection with fresh made guacamole on top. Will definitely hit this place again next time eating at the restaurant but I know I can always take it home and it will still be amazing. Be kind to one another

So glad we've discovered JP's Bistro. Breakfast is their specialty but there are some really good non-breakfast items on the menu as well. Highly recommend their soup, sandwiches and sides. We find the servings generous enough that I usually split a meal with my spouse. It's a great way to eat out for lunch and not get indigestion from laying down $50+ for lunch. We take-out a lot and the staff is always warm, smiling and remembers us. Nothing over-the-top here just regular folks serving good food to good neighbors. Check 'em out in Martinez!

Amazing family owned business. The service is always the best and you can tell that the staff genuinely care about the customers. The food is also very good, the portion sizes are really big and packed with flavor. Don't get started on the fried twisted zucchini, it was so good and crispy. Definitely will be back to keep trying more and more of the menu.

First time going. Many recommended it so had to try. My bf got the crispy chicken sandwich which was huge. I got salmon plate. The service was great. I liked the vibe inside. Only reasons it gets 3 stars are as follows: my veggies and mashed potatoes both were not hot. My veggies were not even luke warm. COLD. My potatoes were like Luke warm which I didn't like. My bfs fries were not warm either . ONLY THING REALLY HOT WAS THE CHICKEN SANDWICH. My salmon was warm but not steaming. It was busy not sure why the issues with all the sides. Also my salmon was just ok. It smelled very fishy and tasted more fishy than I usually like. I have had salmon on many places in the area that did not have a strong fishy smell and taste. So gave a 3. If the sides were warm I probably would upped to 4 but it disappointed me going first time. I had high expectations. Will go back and try something else.

Went here Friday night with my husband and daughter. We ordered the specials. Prime rib and JPs Chicken sandwich. Both were soooo good. Meagan was super nice and goes above and beyond to make sure everything is satisfactory. She even invited my 3 year old to go to Ian's with her and her daughter. Super sweet. Been going there at least once a week since they opened. Today I had there Fish Tacos, and a chicken quesadilla, outstanding meal, probably the best Fish Tacos and quesadilla that I have eaten. Ok I've been to this restaurant twice and both times the food is horrible ,no flavor and poor quality. Customer service is good though. Coffee stays full. Can of coke $3 . No refills only cans. This time got sick and barely made it home. Will not be back . Buttercup restaurant so much better and diggers restauarant 100% better read more

A wonderful edition to the neighborhood. This new restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious food, breakfast & lunch. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent, we never had to ask for tea refills. The fried zucchini appetizer is delicious and inventive. The portions are generous and the quality is wonderful. I recommend the Reuben sandwich full of lean pastrami and a delightful sauce. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday. I've read other reviews regarding the food and customer service, I can agree, all the great things other customers have said is true. From the time you walk into the door, the service is excellent. I tried the prime rib and my husband chicken fried steak. Both meals were very good, nothing fancy but a good home cooked meal. I brought home an order of the prime rib for our son, and that was gone, not a morsel left. Looking forward to going back and trying some of the other menu items. read more

Based on reviews we decided to finally try BP's. We were very disappointed. We had fish and chips with coleslaw. The fish was cod but it must not be fresh, but frozen. Or it is salt cod. The fish was very salty and tough. The coating was good but also salty. I like salt but my companion is not a salt person so she didn't eat much. The fries also I believe were frozen. They were not crispy but soggy. The coleslaw was very chunky and also sweet. Not to our taste but others might like it that way, Not so sure we will try it this place again but with all the five stars on here, maybe it was an off day. read more

I had breakfast here yesterday 6-11-23 the service was spot on, the bacon was delicious the pancakes were just like any other Denny's or Black bear dinner, hash browns were under cooked, eggs were cooked just the way I wanted, the portions in my opinion were not enough for the price a little over 17 bucks should've been three pancakes and three eggs instead of just two, would I visit JP'S again? maybe if they would offer a little more food for the price. Again the service was spot on but the food portions at least in the breakfast could be better, I was still hungry. read more

I am so so happy this place is here. I have been really wanting a place like this nearby where I can pick up fresh and delicious lunch with a wide variety of options. I personally really like the Buffalo chicken sandwich and the onion rings. They are both the best I've had anywhere. The onion rings in particular are to die for. They are very crispy and the onions are so sweet and perfectly cooked inside their little heavenly shell of fried goodness. The staff is always very friendly, and the food comes out very fast as well. Can't wait to try more of their menu!! read more

I have gone to breakfast there twice and have been happy each time. Good breakfast places are hard to come by, but this is one of them. And since it's close to my home, this is my new go-to. The eggs are well done, the bacon is flavorful, and there isn't a weak link in any of the other items I've had either. Well, I guess the coffee is just okay, but all in all I recommend this place highly. read more

Eh, standard Martinez slop. Eggs and bacon were good, but they couldn't give me four pieces of bacon with my breakfast and that was the first red flag. French toast was clearly not soaked in the egg wash very well, and had a distinct cake like texture with almost no egg flavor or crust I expect from a good French Toast. Ordered a side of sourdough because the French Toast was not hitting and they gave me under toasted, soft bread, with way way too much butter. I'm talking a puddle of butter in the middle of a yellow soaked slice. Guess the locals prefer quantity over quality because they're making IHOP look like gourmet food over here read more

I don't live in Martinez any more but if I did I would come here all the time. I went twice while I was in town, I got the JP's Benedict and the strawberries and cream French toast. The food was delicious both times and the staff was friendly and attentive, always keeping my coffee mug full. The space is new and clean and they have TVs you can watch while you eat. The owner Megan came out to talk to us, she is so sweet and you can tell she really cares about everyone having a great experience. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in Martinez. read more

First time my family went to this place for dinner. Service was so weird- first thing a server said to us was "were you guys here first??" Then we waited over an hour for our food. Saw two tables send food back after receiving their plates. Food was average. I really recommend assigning waiters/waitresses to tables so they dont run around confused what tables they should be serving. read more

Where everyone knows your name! Stopped in for my weekly pick up of Fish and Chips for two this evening. Maegan greeted me by name. Impressive that she can remember customers, especially since I wear a mask. As usual, the fish was nicely done. The extra crispy fries (I think they are now using rough-cut fries) and onion rings were still piping hot by the time I arrived home a few minutes later. Everything tasted very fresh. We have visited JP's 3 times in the last week and enjoyed each visit. The wraps are delicious and the sweet potato fries are perfect. I had the French dip on ciabatta bread and it was so good. The bread was fresh and light. My friend had the fish and chips and said they were really good. The staff is wonderful very friendly and attentive. First time There, today. Prime rib. Asked tor med well end cut. Got medium well end cut. Very good and tasty. I'm a prime rib guy and this was in my top 3 servings. Veggies were FANTASTIC. This place is a hidden gem in plan sight! The food is delicious, veggies are fresh, chicken dinner yum! Ceaser salad with grilled chicken looks more like it comes from a high end restaurant & it's really good. When it opened the wait for food was a bit long but boy did they correct that. The only downside to our experience here was that because it was pretty busy, our service was not as fast as we would like. So we had to ask for a couple of things, after getting the server's attention. Other than that, we had an amazing experience. We will be back to try more things on the menu soon!

I ordered orange juice along with French toast, eggs, spinach, cheese, and bacon. My daughter had hot chocolate and a kids meal that came with a cute Oreo cookie. My stepdaughter ordered the raspberry stuffed French toast and a strawberry mimosa and appeared to enjoy her meal. The presentation of the food and drinks was beautiful. Everything looked great when it arrived at the table. Unfortunately, the food itself just wasn't for me. The hash browns tasted more like fried mashed potatoes, and overall the meal looked much better than it tasted. As someone who enjoys good food, I was disappointed because the flavors didn't match my expectations. The service was the highlight of the visit and is the reason for the rating. While I appreciated the staff and the atmosphere, the food simply wasn't something I enjoyed.

Their waffles are seriously to die for. And for those who are gluten-free--not by choice, like my sister-in-law--they have amazing "hipster toast" that she absolutely loves. I'm so grateful I got to visit during their last weekend open. It was heartbreaking to hear at the end of our meal that they're closing after Mother's Day weekend. I asked my own waitress again and she apologized for it never coming out (I thought that's why a waitress brings out your food, so they can also see if something is wrong with it before it reaches your table)-she brings me out a bowl of sour cream So I took the bowl And went to a third waitress and asked is this Chantilly cream and she says no that's sour cream So I asked for it again and another bowl of sour cream comes out Third waitress talks to owner who comes out to me and I show her on google what Chantilly cream really is and ask her to talk to her chefs about revising the menu bcuz it's misleading offering Chantilly Apparently the cream is mixed with something called Melba? A raspberry sauce...so I guess customers have not noticed the difference in the past or something...as a result, by itself, I DID notice... Anywho, no my waitresses fault, actually the fault of the chef/cook in the back. But owner shouldd know what that is before putting it on menu for people to order. But I appreciate Tammy's customer service, coming to me and talking to me about the menu sincerely and apologizing and offering to "take care of me" and my bill as I told her I would take care of her waitress despite all the mixup, for the kind gesture of bringing me in, in the beginning.

It's just very unfortunate that one mistake caused me to never want to come back.
