It's really small size that the shrimp are very small, different from every other time I come to buy. And not good service

Food was good but they must be trying kill off their customers, there was a pound of salt all over my mushrooms, fish and chicken.

I usually go to the one in independence but I was close by Prospect , I wanted combo 6 large shrimp and 2 catfish. The whole plate looked disgusting and old. The Shrimps were not large at all. The catfish was thin, dry and hard. Along with barely giving me fries. I paid $15 and they refused to give me back my money along with refusing to remake it and with getting smart at me and tried to gaslight me to say the shrimp was jumbo/large. They are scamming customers over there, what I received today was not $15 worth of a combo I'm use to. I am very disappointed and angry about this.

5 piece legs and thighs and a large mac & cheese

The fried chicken is to die for!! I loved the amount of crispness to the chicken and the prices are not bad at all. I got the 5 piece thighs and legs and it only costs $4. The downfall to this restaurant was their mac and cheese for me. You can tell in my picture below that the mac and cheese is pretty basic consisting of elbow noodles with a thin coating of cheese on the noodle. I can't even call it a cheese sauce because it was so thin. It felt like they just used Kraft mac & cheese, scratched the butter, and only added half the cheese packet making for a pretty bland side. In the end, J's Fish & Chicken is a great option for anyone craving fried chicken in the KC area. The taste and value of the chicken make for an excellent meal option, however if you are looking for sides to go with your chicken, don't get the mac & cheese and go with a different side.

The food is pretty good and really cheap. No point in calling in, they'll still wait until you get there to make your food.

"Premier" isn't marketing flair - it's accurate. This is, hands down, the best raw bar in Kansas City. We arrived for our 5:15 p.m. reservation in the main dining room and were warmly greeted by Allison, our server. She struck the perfect balance - friendly, engaging, and attentive throughout the meal. A great start to the evening. For two diners, we wanted to explore as much of the menu as possible. Before ordering food, we were told the signature Frozen Gin & Tonic was a must. It lived up to the reputation - bright, refreshing, and expertly balanced. The only thing that would have made it better was a slightly warmer dining room. We're big mussel fans, so we opened with the Bangs Island Mussels - and they set the bar high. A generous portion of plump mussels bathed in a white wine and roasted tomato broth that was deeply flavorful without being heavy. The toasted bread was perfect for soaking up every last bite. Simply outstanding. Next came the NOLA-Style Shrimp Gumbo. Served in a small bowl, but packed with richness and depth. Adding a touch of hot sauce brought just the right amount of heat and complexity. A standout dish. My wife - having happily overindulged in mussels and bread - opted for a lighter course: a single Maryland Crab Cake, available fried or broiled. It was almost all crab, clean and flavorful, with a satisfying crust. She couldn't finish it...so I did. When you go to a raw bar, oysters are non-negotiable. I ordered a half dozen featuring both East and West Coast varieties. Each one was pristine, briny, and fresh, and the horseradish had just the right bite. For my entrée, I chose the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp - four large prawns, each wrapped in crisp, smoky bacon. Simple, well-executed, and a strong finish to the savory courses. Dessert did not disappoint. My wife loved the Lemon Pistachio Chess Torte, while I devoured the Bourbon Apple Tart. She noted that the toasted meringue reminded her of marshmallows - a detail that made us smile. The dining room is intimate and can get noisy as it fills up. Next time, we'll likely try the patio for a different vibe. Pacing throughout the meal was spot-on, dishes came out promptly from the kitchen, and Allison's service tied everything together into a truly memorable evening. We'll definitely be back - and soon.

Allison walked us through the various oysters on the menu as well as a variety of mains and wines. As for food, I will just say that everything we ordered was excellent. The stars of the evening, though, were the tots and caviar as well as the roasted oysters. This evening, though, was truly made by Allison. This woman was incredibly personable, amazingly efficient, and beautifully professional. Allison is, perhaps, the best all around server we have had in months, maybe a whole year. This was our family's first time at Earl's, but certainly won't be our last.

There is a brilliant, transportive alchemy at work here, transforming a casual stroll through our neighborhood into a deliberate departure from the ordinary, where the modern world gently recedes into the background. We snuck in at the tail-end of restaurant week and took advantage of the pick 3 for $65. That was a heck of a deal for what you get. I ordered the lobster bisque, 6oz filet oscar, and carrot cupcake. The wife order gumbo, 6oz filet oscar, and ooey gooey cake. The big girl ordered caesar salad, 12 oz kansas strip and ooey gooey cake. Appetizer was the sushi on fried rice... these little things were amazing. Every time I see the on a menu, I have to order them. Best single bite of food we had. My filet came our way overcooked and the staff recognized that and corrected that mistake promptly. The second attempt was cooked perfectly. Asparagus and mashed potatoes were very tasty. 12 oz Kansas strip was dominated by my daughter! Caesar salad was probably one of the best we have had in a while! It was perfect. Lobster bisque had a depth of flavor that was unreal. So creamy and hearty. My wife said the gumbo was very good and that it had a slow burn on the back end as any true gumbo has that little kick of spice. Carrot cake was so moist and flavorful, but that ooey gooey cake was spectacular! The butter flavor was there in full force! Over all great experience.
