The rice is white with peas and carrots, like they do in the interior. The pepper is more likely to be chipotle. There are some excellent fish (usually black drum) and shrimp dishes. I had a superb camerones dish over rice with chipotle sauce and a lovely slaw on top you wouldn't think would work but it does. And IMO the portion sizes are perfect, not demanding the carry out box every single time. The bar is also good, and if you're going to treat yourself, yes, they'll use Clase Azul tequila and do it well. The interior has been redone a bit, mostly in the tables, since we were last there, and it's an improvement. They still have the garage-style roll-up doors for opening up to the patio in good weather. (Not today, thanks, too hot out.) Christian was our server and was timely and anticipatory and professional and endured my Spanish.

The mole enchiladas had good flavor, but they could have benefited from a little more mole sauce and a thinner tortilla to better complement the dish. I also ordered the Tacos Del Mar with beef, and unfortunately they seemed a bit light on the meat. On a positive note, the service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive throughout the meal, frequently checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. Our drinks were always refilled before we had a chance to ask, and our glasses never sat empty. The outstanding service definitely made the dining experience more enjoyable.

Plenty of menu options as well. The staff are warm, welcoming, and accommodating (we came with a group of 6 and they got us situated right away). The space is small (which I find very nice), there is indoor and covered/shaded outdoor seating available. And I love the decor! Overall, highly recommend!

My husband ordered their burrito, which came with chips and a cheese dip on the side. Their shrimp was good; nothing special. I did ask to try aleida's sauce, which many people liked on yelp, but we liked their green sauce the most! Overall, very cute and colorful restaurant; loved all the decor. The outdoor patio, where we sat, was covered and nice, until it started pouring hard outside. Not a super authentic latin restaurant. No complimentary chips and salsa. My taco wasn't worth more than $5, tbh, and we paid close to $9..given it was shrimp, but we've had much better shrimp tacos elsewhere for less. I wish I had a photo of my poor taco, but I totally forgot to take a picture :/

GOOOO Mavs! The food is delicious & homemade. I even wrote this review BEFORE I finished eating. MEAT: I ordered the Steak Fajita online which to me is FAR superior to the chicken. TOPPINGS & Tortillas: Came with gauc, pico, rice, cheese, chips, salsa, tortillas, lettuce. EVERYTHING you need which makes it quick & easy. I love both the flour & corn tortillas. The corn is a thicker style to where there is a subtle taste of Masa. The flour is LIGHT and I absolutely love that and so does my tummy. BEANS: The refried beans are a perfect texture & taste just like the pinto beans my maw maw used to make. RIH Maw Maw. The charro beans are so flavorful with chunks of steak. These beans have been cooking all day. SERVICE: Finally the service is outstanding. The food is always ready when they say and always served with a smile no matter how busy they are. Today the super nice guy brought my take-away food to the table I was sitting at outside (watching Mavs on my phone...GOOOO MAVS!). He didn't have to do that and many places would have just waited for me to come back in and ask if the food was ready. I LOVE this Fajita Pete's!!! WHY? The Beef & Beans are top notch and the service is OUTSTANDING!!!

I'm a sucker for sour cream, the sauce was delicious. Service was great, and I was honestly surprised by how good everything was. Overall, nothing special about this place. Our server was slow, given it was father's day, but she rarely checked up on us. We had to flag her down for the check in the end. Food was mediocre at best. We will probably not come back.

Pro tip: It's not directly on Walton Way; it's on the side of the building. Wilson, one of the owners, kindly guided me to the entrance when my GPS said I had arrived, but I still couldn't see the restaurant. Please note that there is indoor and outdoor dining along with free parking. Fogonero is best known for its empanadas, arepas, and other traditional Venezuelan specialties. While all of those sounded tempting, I was craving one food specifically...plantains. I have a real weakness for sweet fried plantains, and lately they have become my ultimate "go-to" comfort food. Fogonero's plantains hit the spot. They were perfectly sweet, moist, and enjoyable to eat. The restaurant is a whole vibe. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a striking mural of the Venezuelan flag painted in vibrant colors across the wall. It's eye-catching, inviting, and instantly sets the tone for the experience. Alfred welcomed me with a warm smile and immediately recognized that I was there to pick up an order. He had everything packed and ready to go, making the process quick and seamless. His friendly, personable demeanor made a great first impression. I'm looking forward to returning and exploring more of the menu once my mouth is back in eating condition.
