my name is eddie I work for work creation program, working with mentally challenged adults introducing them to society and to help them navigate by themselves in the real world, we usually go to lunch at restaurants in costa mesa , well we have 5 people on our group including myself 2 of us were buying lunch and the other 3 brought their lunch , well we were discriminated against, we were told we couldn't bring in outside food the manager and a female employee were very rude towards us, and told us to leave so we asked for a refund on the food we had ordered and left , we've never been treated this way usually people understand and make exceptions to the rules to accommodate our special needs but not this place I'm not coming back here ever !!! read more

This is based on ordering on uber eats. Tamales were some of the worst I've ever had I didn't even bother eating them . I asked for cheese and cream which I paid extra for and none came with it as well on top of them being horrible I also ordered a kids meal chicken tacos, they didn't give the drink, the tacos looks soggy and just dry chicken . I ordered a bionico that was good UNTIL I bit into fresh GINGER soooo ruined it even more for me . I also order a juice that was good I ordered a bean cheese and rice burrito that one had more rice than anything really just flavorless . They didn't throw in any salsa in the order just everything was just bad for the most part. I will not be ordering from here again . Sadly wanted to like it and got hugely dissatisfaction. Authentic Mexican food in the middle of Costa Mesa. You feel like you seriously walked into a restaurant in Mexico City. Munson got the chicken enchiladas and I got two chorizo tostadas which came to $28. Food was abundant but to be honest I was surprised with the bill since the tostada were less than $3 each so the enchiladas had to be $22. It wasn't listed but they only had a picture. The cashier didn't seems to speak English so is didn't question it. Food was 4/5. Ambiance is 2/5 so overall I think it's a good experience. You know it's a traditional Mexican joint since they don't have any burritos on the menu;) except for breakfasts burrito. read more

First time coming here and I ordered juices. The lady at the register was rude and didn't seem to want to be bothered. She wasn't paying attention when I was ordering and charged me for two extra drinks. Thankfully I was paying attention and had her read my order back to me. The issue got corrected. Took forever to get my drinks. The three people that came after me that ordered food and drinks got their stuff before I did. Won't be coming back which is too bad because the menu looked good. Also noticed after I ordered my drinks, she put away the menu for the drinks off the counter and put it under the counter. Today is Mexican Independence Day, so we decided to have lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Originally, we were going to eat at El Toro Bravo (at the back of the lot), but they got rid of their tables. So we walked down to Jugos Acapulco. Good decision. Real Mexican music. We were surrounded by Mexican patrons. We ordered three different plates: chili relleno, flautas, and a torta. My chili relleno was massive. (I cannot verify this, but I swear they buy their chili rellenos at El Toro Bravo.) It was delicious. 9/10. My wife ordered the flautas plate. 8/10. My son ordered a torta. 8/10. The service was excellent. The young man who took our order spent some time explaining the menu. The ladies working the kitchen and delivering the food were dressed in Mexican dresses and were very courteous and helpful. There is ample parking and ample seating. (See my pics.) Food: 3.5. Had a craving for a tamale and someone suggested this place. This is an order-at-the-cashier place. There is inside and outside tables. I ordered a pork tamale. There is a self serve condiment bar with items like salsa, radish slices, and lime wedges. After I placed my order, the cashier gave me a number on a stand to put on my table. Food came out timely. Masa part of tamale was cooked on to the corn husk. It was hard to remove the masa from the husk. Tamale was a nice size and good and, unlike many other places, there was a lot of meat. Very delicious food. i tried the rice , beans, and birria. It was all very delicious, well seasoned and well cooked. The meat of the birria was very soft and delicious and the consome was great. I also tried the fruit and their juices, it was all very fresh and tasted natural. Wouldn't come here again. Came in, wasn't greeted in a friendly way. Ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage and bacon and they put a cut up hot dog in it? I asked twice if the hash browns were going to be crispy and the lady working the cashier just ignored me. The hash browns were literally so soft and mushy. It felt like I had mashed potatoes in my breakfast burrito. Not pleasant. Bacon was mid and there was zero cohesion to the breakfast burrito. Salsas weren't horrible though. read more

I came here because the place looked inviting... I ordered a Cold Relief drink... which was so hard because not a single person there speaks English. I order Buffalo Wings and when I opened it a glove was inside. Someone took off there glove and put it in my food! Aren't we just exiting out of a COVID pandemic? How disgusting! I called and when I spoke to Brenda she said no English. I asked to speak to someone who does speak English and said to call back at 2:00pm. My order was placed 11:40am! 1 star for the agua fresca. They're good. I've eaten here before and it wasn't so bad. Today I had carne asada and Al Pastor tacos. That carne asada tasted like if it was from two or three days ago and warmed in the microwave. It was nasty. Al pastor almost the same. Very hard old meat. I won't ever go back there. And yes I did get sick of my stomach. I still have that horrible taste of the tacos. It's a shame. read more

discovered this place many many years ago and it has become my absolute favorite place!!! i love tripas and lengua and they are my go tos here. their lengua is jus really much better than many other places. the tenderness is jus right unlike some places where they may be too soggy sometimes. the tripas is jus the right amount of crispness and chewiness with gooeyness inside - i don't like tripas that are too crispy and hollow. i haven't been here for a while and i defibitely need to return soon!!! read more

Food was good, I got the torta cubana w/ no beans & a chocolate milk shake. My bf got the Watermelon juice & a burrito de asada. He also enjoys this place, he's the one who's been here before (went on his lunch break before lol). Friendly staff and very mexican atmosphere, I felt like I was home lol. This review is for the juice offerings. Super jazzed about this clean, spacious place with friendly faces. Really good value for what you pay for. A large can easily be shared. I was craving for guanabana (soursop) fruit since last night, and found this place recommended by other yelpers. Thanks fellow foodies, this is a winner. On thing to note is that the menu can be both confusing and overwhelming. So take a step back and take it all in before you make to the counter. I'll be back to try out other items on the menu. I give Jugos Acapulco 3 stars based on my experiences there. They do take a while to get you food ready but that's ok because I call my order in. The juices get too much pulp and end up not tasting as good. They could use some ice as the juices are warm when served since they are blended. The breakfast burrito is great! Comes with a free drink if purchased before 11 am. The burrito didn't come with any salsa on the side. I didn't see a salsa bar. The papa and chorizo plate was a bit oily/greasy.
