This TEENY TINY so easy to miss spot was everything and more. I just loved this hole in the wall healthy juice place so much, it was exactly what I needed in the moment and the price was right. I had eaten junk junk and more junk the night before and I desperately needed a ginger shot of the sort and some healthy greens in my body. I got here 15 minutes too early, had the opening time wrong and the girl was so cool about it but I didn't want to wait around for 15 minutes so I kept walking to the next juice place and when I got there, they were permanently closed! I was pissed to say the least but I took the walk all the way back to Juice Wave and was SO glad I did. I went with a ginger and turmeric shot and a super green juice and I think I paid maybe $13 for both. It felt like robbery and I even told the girl behind the counter she should raise her prices. An absolute steal compared to other juice shops I went to the remainder of my trip in California. They were dynamite, the ginger shot brought me back to life and the super greens made me feel like a new woman. Hats off to this little superb healthy joint.

This açaí bowl really did live up to the hype!!! Even at noon on a busy beach Saturday it only took about 20 minutes (which they told us when we ordered) and it worth every minute and penny! The bowls are large and filled to the brim with fresh fruit. Would definitely recommend the homemade almond butter too. 10/10 and I can't wait to go back!!

These bowls are just as good as they look! Packed with so much fresh fruit on top, delicious granola, and refreshing açaí, this is the best açaí bowl I've ever had. Tip, add the almond butter (made in-house), it's incredible!

There was a line when we arrived, but it moved fairly quick. We placed our order at the register, as the worker was super sweet & made small talk with us as it was our first time here. We came on a Sunday morning so our two bowls were a 30-40 minute wait, however if you are not there to pick it up, they kindly put it in the freezer for you for when you come back. * Pitay-Dye Bowl - 9.5/10 (the acai base had the perfect texture of creaminess, & the sweetness of berry was perfect. the pitaya base was strong of dragonfruit flavor & not icy at all. the honey granola was very crunchy, with a good ratio of it to the base. i like how they finely chop the strawberries & bananas, & pack it on top of the bowl. they definitely do not skimp here. one of the best acai i have ever had! ~tine) * The Wave Bowl - 9.2/10 (all three sorbets were super flavorful. each were all light & refreshing without being too sweet. i liked the blue spirulina sorbet the most. i personally can't describe the taste, but it was delicious enough to make my toes curl. the bowl had a generous amount of strawberries, banana, & granola. the honey also added a nice external sweetness to the bowl. the bowl overall was super refreshing & addicting. i could eat the bowl full of just the blue spirulina base! ~jerm)

Being in San Diego, I wanted to try the most highly reputable açai bowl in the city. After all the research that I did, juice wave was the place I landed on. And it definitely lived up to the hype. This was the perfect balanced bowl with açai, granola, fruit, PB, and of course, love! Got to meet the owner of the store while ordering and she was the sweetest lady ever. She told us that she started in a food truck and has now moved to a storefront, which is awesome to hear her journey. There is a line out the door, but yet each bowl was carefully curated and walked out by the owner to each customer which I thought was a very special touch. The vibes were good and it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the bowl right outside the store.

Fantastic! I was jogging along Crown Point Park and saw a few people walking with acai bowls and immediately started craving it. I then looked up nearby acai bowls and was so happy i found the exact place i was hoping for! Chef Arleigh is really kind and i love the shack vibes of the smoothie shop. The strawberries on the bowl were pleasantly refreshing & not too sweet, just the way i like it. I love the crunch on the housemade granola as well. And lastly, the old bay in the immunity drink is just the kick i needed. Cant wait to bring friends here after a run.

Came back again (this spot never disappoints) and tried the wave bowl for the first time. I ordered it upside down and I actually loved this version--having all the toppings layered on top makes every bite balanced and flavorful. We added peanut butter. The bowl was fresh, delicious, and definitely big enough to share. Another solid visit! Be prepared for long waits but it's best to order and walk by the bay till your order is ready.

Juice Wave has been in my bookmarks because of their massive acai bowls. I finally had the chance to stop by in the morning to grab one and enjoy at the beaches nearby. I parked near Bahia Resort but there are several parking lots near Juice Wave. Look up SDSU Recreation Parking...I'm pretty sure it's free but please double check! You can also find parking around the streets but you'll be competing against others going to the beach. On a Sunday morning, the wait was about 20 minutes for a bowl. A little pricey but they really do stack the bowls with fruit! But because of all the fruit, the overall flavor is a bit more tart than other places. I wish there was a little more acai to balance out ratio but other than that, it's a pretty solid bowl.

Waited in line for 10 minutes and we ordered at 2:20 PM on a Sunday. They mentioned we were the last bowl for acai, and they had already run out of peanut butter so we got almond butter instead. Got the pitay-dye, which is half pitaya sorbet, half acai, with granola, banana, strawberry, honey, and hemp seeds. It took about 20 minutes because they were quite busy, but the girl at the counter was super friendly. At $14.50, it's a decent portion, and the ingredients are fresh--a satisfying sweet treat. Some limited seating in the form of benches outside the storefront. Would recommend parking in the lot where the SDSU Aquatic Center is because street parking is very difficult. This shop has been in my bookmarks forever so I'm excited I got to come here!

I was minding my business walking around mission beach and saw these girls pass by with such beautiful Acai bowls that looked like they were made by the gods themselves. All sorts of colors and fruits on this beautiful hot day. I asked them were to go and I immediately went to Juice Wave (new favorite place) placed my order and walked around a bit until they were ready. While placing my order, the women working inside were SUCH a vibe. I didn't want to leave there the ambiance was so friendly and amazing. Once I got my wave bowl I was even more impressed. The bowl tasted like no other bowl I've had this far. All amazing flavors and their granola was so fresh! 10/10 recommend this spot!!!

soo good!! we got the Acai Bowl with homemade peanut butter. this spot has huge portions! i love that they put more peanut butter, great ratio here. wait is a bit long around 40 mins. there's no seating but the beach walk is 5~mins away

The bowels here are very tasty and perfect for a hot San Diego day and a walk on the beach. The front of the store is very unassuming and it is definitely a take and go place as there is no indoor or outdoor seating. Also if you are not calling your order ahead then anticipate waiting 30-45 minutes to receive your order as they are ALWAYS busy. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and does an amazing job setting a realistic expectation of your wait time which, if you have the time, is definitely worth the wait. I recommended grabbing your order and crossing the street to the boardwalk and walk along the beach... A perfect San Diego day.

This is my new favorite acai spot in SD. It's the perfect place to get a bowl and bring to the beach or after an activity filled day at the beach. The portion of the acai bowl is large and so visually stunning. The strawberries are cut into perfectly small pieces and it comes with peaches and hemp seeds. You can tell the bake the granola themselves as well. The owners are so nice as well and love making these acai bowls for all their customers. Would recommend coming here if you're looking for any acai bowl in all of San Diego. read more

Finished a 3 day cleanse and it was amazing! Each day consisted of 7 beverages. All drinks were so fresh and tasty. Didn't feel hungry at all. Service was great! Next time I'm going to try the 4 day cleanse. So happy I found this place! read more

The best acai in san diego! The acai is a sorbet -like acai, which is very tasty. It comes with a generous amount of fresh fruit on top along with other toppings. The fruit is always cut to perfect tiny pieces. I always add the house-made peanut butter since it is heavenly! The business itself is small, but super cute. I am constantly craving it. I highly recommend going for their acai bowls or smoothies. read more

Eat here but be advised that once you do other açaí bowls will fall flat. It's true it's just açaí, granola and fruit, like everywhere else BUT and I can't emphasize the BUT enough, you can taste the careful design and fantastic execution in every bowl. Fruit, always the freshest and 9 out of 10 times (the wife and I hit this spot weekly) there are a few pieces of the most wonderfully fresh seasonal fruit on top. The house made granola is crunchy, flavorful and really puts the exclamation point on the BUT I mentioned above. The house made almond and peanut butters are delicious and create a whole different bowl experience. We get ours and sit on the beach to enjoy the best of San Diego. The hot drip coffee is fantastic, full of flavor. It takes more than a minute to make and you can taste it. We tried the Bump and Grind iced coffee with mixed reviews. I'm not really an iced coffee guy but my wife really liked it. Call and order ahead as the average time they tell us is 15 minutes. Its carefully crafted eats you're getting and that takes time to prepare. read more

BEST AÇAÍ EVER! The owner was super sweet and made my experience very welcoming. The consistency of the original açaí is outstanding. After 10 minutes it was still perfect and not melted. The proportion is WORTH the price. They fill it to the rim PLUS all the toppings. The granola and almond/ peanut butter is all homemade. The seasonal fruit, peaches, was to die for. Now for the best part, the almond and peanut butter. I have never made such a great decision. The velvety almond butter that swirled effortlessly into the açaí base truly made it an experience to never forget. Its smooth consistency melted into the chilled açaí, creating a decadent contrast that made each spoonful an indulgent treat. read more

There's nothing better than coffee on a beach walk followed by a fresh fruit packed açaí bowl. Juice Wave is surf shack style hole in the wall located in Pacific Beach, just 2 roads over from the ocean. It's been newly renovated in the last year (according to the locals) but has the same great productions and simple menu options. Every time I've come i get the normal açaí with peanut butter added. It's a very large portion but I always end up finishing up and feeling pleasantly full until the next meal time. They're a little pricey especially with protein and topping additions, ranging from about $8-13 a bowl. This is not a sit down breakfast spot or group date venue. It's more order on-the-go style but they do have a bench and a couple bar style seats for groups of 1-4 max. I'd recommend as a good breakfast or lunch snack for those going for beach walks/runs, surfing, playing volleyball, etc. in Mission or Pacific Beach. There are a few cool local stores and coffee shops near by too if you want to explore while visiting. read more

I got the wave bowl and it looked phenomenal and was delicious. Nice spin on a normal acao bowl. They have a couple of benches outside of the store that you can eat at, and they end up freeing up at the right time based on when people get their bowls and finish. Also if you go with someone who wants a whole meal, the fish tacos nextdoor are very good. read more

Juice wave's homemade granola and almond butters were the two main highlights for the almond butter açai bowl! The smokiness and caramelization flavors that come from both ingredients make this açai bowl super addictive. It was our first time to this little shop in Mission Bay but we absolutely fell in love with it. The açai itself was also amazing, the texture, the sweetness, everything about it was just perfect. The tiny slices of banana and strawberries allow you to enjoy consistent bites with full of fruits til your last bite. This is truly a 10/10 açai bowl, and we will definitely come back :) read more

First and foremost, during Covid, I have visited Juice Wave regularly and feel safe due to the fact that the staff is always wearing masks (and/or face shields) and gloves. The owner is full of knowledge when it comes to the health benefits of fruits and vegetables. So lucky to learn so much! And lastly, the acai bowls being the BEST ACAI BOWLS EVER! The pressed juices they have.... Omg obsessed!! They have pre-made cold pressed juice that they usually make the day or night before opening and it's so delicious. They come in a 12oz glass bottle, which is great quality and great to reuse. They also have a recycle program where every bottle you return you get a $1 off your next juice. I'm hooked and had to stop myself from buying each flavor they had. I'm so glad I stumbled upon Juice Wave and will be a repeat customer! read more

Yummy açaí bowls! I would recommend calling ahead if you don't want to wait. Last time it was so busy, the wait was 45 mins for açaí bowl to be ready. Took a scenic walk to the beach while I waited. Lots of others saying this is the best around. They may be right. Its the closest to how I make my bowls at home. Nice small bite sized chopped fruits you can actually eat with a spoon not those goal strawberry slices like other places that look good but are impossible to deal with. Great ingredients. Kind folks. Good service. It's a hole in the wall and maybe that makes it better. It probably does. If you want a tasty bowl go get it from the wave. The juice wave. read more

As a pregnant and now postpartum mom, I unintentionally became a self proclaimed expert in San Diego area smoothies/juice bars. It's basically all I've craved for months! I would put money on this being the best smoothie bowl you'll find in the entire city. The housemade granola AND almond butter sets this bowl apart. It's truly heavenly to eat. Meet the Business Owner: Arleigh R.

Arleigh has been working in the food industry for over 20 years. After graduating from Colorado State University, she packed up and moved to San Diego for the grand opening of Snooze, an A.M. Eatery in Hillcrest. After two years, Chef Arleigh attended the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont. She then worked with James Beard Award Winning Chef, Michael Tusk at his three Michelin-Star Restaurant, Quince, as well as training to be the butcher for his sister restaurant, Cotogna. Attending every farmer's market in the Bay Area to pick up the fresh and local produce for both restaurants was one of her most cherished responsibilities. WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities for Organic Farms) was the best option for her to get her hands in the dirt. Farmer Leo's at Cardiff-by-the-Sea in Encinitas was the farm where she has cultivated her culinary skills and has become most passionate about utilizing ingredients from local farms and incorporating sustainable methods.

I'm just extremely disappointed with how poor my experience was today because I had only super positive experiences previously and was looking forward to dining there this morning after sometime away, but holy hell ....today's experience has been so profoundly bad. Firstly, my husband ordered two breakfast burritos - one with bacon and the other with bacon on the side. I'll chalk this one up to miscommunication, but they put bacon in one, and bacon in the other too - and then added bacon on the side to the other and charged us $5.50 for the extra bacon. Again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and will be sure to communicate explicitly next time. They kindly made me a new one, but the new one had potatoes that weren't cooked thoroughly (likely to rush the food to me, so I acknowledge the difficulty here), however there was hardly any avocado. I literally had to complain again because I didn't believe there was any avocado at all. I wouldn't be as pissed if this weren't an EIGHTEEN DOLLAR breakfast burrito. Lastly, the coffee lids don't fit on the cups. We tried to put one on and ended up spilling the entire coffee. I chalked this up to an accident on our part, however another patron who observed our incident said "their lids don't fit the cup, right??" And I was like "oh so it wasn't just us??" And she was like "no, I almost spilled mine all over too." This random patron encouraged us to ask for a new cup of coffee as a result (thanks, random patron!). The Molly's team did kindly make us a new (albeit quite bitter) drink, which I appreciate. However, the lid was still an issue - it would spill out of the cup all over the rim between the cup and the lid when I'd try to take a sip, so I took off the lid entirely, but then was stuck with dealing with spills while walking around - I had to move at a snail's pace to prevent spills altogether. This was easier to deal with random leakage around the entire cup every time I'd sip with the lid on. Ultimately It was just a lose-lose with the ill fitting lid situation. All this to say - Molly's Team, yall were fantastic just a month ago. What happened? I understand food and services in the beach area stuff are often expensive and rarely good, but you guys are *too* expensive for this poor of service and quality. Two stars because at least the folks there are generally nice.

I grabbed a drip coffee and took a seat in the back and every second the ceiling and coffee shop would shake with a loud boom. I couldn't understand what was happening until I realized we were underneath a gym. Clearly the area with the weights and all you heard were people dropping dumbbells on the ground and subsequent shakes and bangs on the ceiling of this shop. It was honestly, terrible. I would not come back here because of that. It would be impossible to study or get work done. I guess that's why it's called Pump?
