Went just a day after their grand opening, so you could definitely tell they were still getting settled in and training staff. That said, overall, it was a good experience for a brand-new restaurant. The food is shareable, and dishes come out as they're ready. I had the spicy wontons, and that sauce was delicious! It had the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. I honestly would have loved a side of the sauce to enjoy with the rest of my dumplings. The bok choy was also really good! Would def come back to try more items!

A wonderful experience at this new location. We got seated right away and our server was so kind, I believe Hellen. We tried 3 different dumplings my favorite were the pork fried dumplings. Also tried a noodle dish that was very peanuty but so good. A great place to try out.

Tried this spot today for lunch. Arrived 12:10 and waited about 13 minutes for a table for 3. The pork soup dumplings are wonderful. The stir fry green beans are tasty with the char from an intense flame of the wok! I'd pass on the thump print pan fried dumplings as the meat/filling wasn't juicy and the skin felt a little thick. Surprisingly sad that they ran out of beef for the noodle dishes by 12:30pm :-(. It's authentic cuisine at a slight premium price...typical for charlotte area!

Stir-fried green beans, spicy beef brisket noodles (dry), pan-fried pork buns.

We went on opening day right after work and loved it . We moved back to CLT after living in Boston for 5 years, and everything we ordered reminded us of meals we had in Chinatown. We were hoping for pan-fried soup buns, but it's okay--everything else we ordered was fantastic. Xiao long baos are dine-in only to ensure you eat them fresh. Service was great, and we were only there for an hour and by 6 pm more people were piling in.

Just opened yesterday. Beautiful inside. Everything is renovated top to bottom. The food was outstanding and there was something for everyone. Will return.

I ordered : Shrimp dumplings in a spicy sour soup, shrimp chow mein with chili oil and garlic bok choy!!!

10/10 would definitely recommend!!! Stumbled across this place yesterday and so glad that I did! My waitress Maya was super helpful, patient and friendly. Excellent customer service! Great ambiance/ setting! The food exceeded my expectations - very flavorful, large portions: could easily serve about 3 people with this order and decently priced - I will definitely be coming back !!

Make us wait 30 minutes in the table and nobody even ask us for drinks. They need to work out their service before open. Bad experience

The ambiance is beautiful, inviting, and creates the perfect atmosphere for a date night or family dinner. The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the drinks were just as impressive. A special thank you to our hostess, Linda, whose attentiveness and warm hospitality made our experience even more memorable. She truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. If you're looking for exceptional sushi, amazing drinks, and top-notch service, I highly recommend Yugenn. Be sure to book your next dinner or family gathering here--you won't be disappointed!

Over the weekend, we got to check out this new Japanese fusion place in South End…read more.. As anticipated, the place was very pretty and posh...with a sleek color motif of black and pink (one of my fave combos!). Since the weather was so nice, we decided to sit in their patio area...very nice! Can't say I loved the playlist (a bit busy and random...everything from soulful lounge music and hip hop, to Donna Summers, Salt 'n Pepper, etc.etc.), but I loved the overhead volume...giving the place a festive ambiance. I just hoped that the music would be a tad more relaxing and sophisticated...but then, I get it. Am sure the vast majority of folks coming here are in their 20's or 30's. Service was good. I think both Managers-Owners (?) stopped by our table to check on us...and our waitress did her best. However, we did find it odd that we had to ask for soy sauce and wasabi with our Unagi nigiri order. Maybe this had something to do with it being a fusion place? As for the menu, there were several tantalizing and interesting options. My husband and I both decided to start with 2 orders of Unagi (as an appetizer). Then we agreed to share their signature dish, Lobster Fried Rice, as well as 2 sushi rolls, "The Genie" and "Kimchi Fried Chicken". We also finished our meal with their Panna Cotta (with Strawberry). Well, we both thoroughly enjoyed everything...but our favorites were the Lobster Fried Rice and the Panna Cotta. Sushi Rolls were good, but I felt I've had better? The Lobster Fried Rice, however, was possibly THE best Fried Rice dish I've had to date! The Panna Cotta was amazing too...just wished there were a bit more of it? BTW, I liked their cocktail, "Lotus Milk Punch"...but here's the thing. Despite the lofty price point, there just wasn't much of it...as there was this big block of ice taking all the space (just as with Whiskey drinks). Also, I didn't feel that it was strong enough. So here's where I dock a star. I feel that when a drink is this expensive (20?!?), it should be well worth it. Despite the good taste, it fell a bit short on its stingy portion and weak alcohol content. One other minus I must mention is the lack of parking here. You just have to drive around until you find a space along the road. It's a good thing we came early! Still, this is a great, new addition to Charlotte...and it's a cute spot for a date night or a girl's night out. I'd definitely wouldn't mind returning to try a few more items on the menu...and a repeat order of their amazing Lobster Fried Rice!

Kind of reminded me of the texture of spanakopita in a bun. They were generously filled and delicious. Yangzhou fried rice had a mix of scallops, shrimp, chicken and veggies. Portion was huge, husband could barely finish it. I ordered spicy wonton in chili oil, and mini spare ribs in black bean sauce dim sum. Loved them both. Seasonings and spice level were perfect. I'd order those again. We also got a selection of dumplings - pork and veggie shumai, steamed potstickers, and crystal shrimp dumplings. Loved all of them. I love the relaxed vibe here. Our server was attentive, professional and gave us space to enjoy our meal with minimum interruptions. We were greeted when we arrived and she waved goodbye when we left. While dining, I saw quite a number of takeout orders picked up by customers and dashers, which is something we'll definitely do in the future. The dining area and bar are in one big room with huge windows that make the space feel spacious and light. Even tho it's one big room, tables aren't crammed together. Music is low enough to talk at normal volume. We really enjoyed our first time here, plan to eat here again and highly recommend it if you haven't been.

We came in for a weekend brunch and were immediately impressed by the experience. Our waiter was super attentive and helped steer us toward some great choices on the menu (you pull it up through a QR code at the table). We ordered the French toast and the Eggs Benedict to split. The French toast was golden with just the right balance of sweetness. The Benedict comes layered with smoked salmon and spinach, and it was so good my friend even ordered a second one to take home! I've actually picked up sushi to-go from here at night in the past, so I already knew the food was reliable, but sitting down during the day let me appreciate how nice the space actually is. At night it has that dim, moody lighting that makes it a great date-night pick, but brunch was relaxed, bright, and didn't feel rushed at all. Definitely a spot I'd come back to whether it's for casual weekend brunch or drinks and sushi on a night out.

Sunday was our anniversary, so I decided to make reservations and finally get him here. When I made reservations, I did tell them it was our anniversary upon arriving.
