I am giving it a 4/5 because mostly everything I ate was delicious! I love seafood so this place had a lot of options for me. They even had pork buns :-) The pop stickers were not my fave because they were greasy and the stuffed shrimp tasted funny. Everything else though? So good and well seasoned. Location just opened 11/9/22. Juicy seafood replaced Cafe East, located at the corner of Hwy6 and Dulles. The set up is practically the same. The pricing is pretty fair for the options. Came early on a Saturday Evening and wasn't busy at all. Started to do up the dinner crowd about 630-7pm when we left. They still have that private back room with a large screen. Looked like it was being used for karaoke at one point. Here's a rundown of what I can recall from what was served on our Saturday dinner: Seafood options: - Baked Mussels - Steamed Clams - Shrimp prepared in multiple ways [black pepper, fried, buttered shrimp, popcorn shrimp]. I don't think she even said anything to us. I just asked if we needed to check in with her or just seat ourselves. She just nodded and I told her our party. She sat us in a booth. The chairs felt new as they were quite firm. The hostess also asked what we'd like to drink without really informing us of any options so I just defaulted to sweet tea and waters. Btw, the water tastes straight up unfiltered tap. We made sure our kids drank from their water we brought from home. Our waitress was attentive to clean off used and finished plates. She even checked if I wanted a refill on my drink. Overall pretty decent and my kids enjoyed the options. I remember my parents taking us to Cafe East often with other family when I was young. Not many, if any, Chinese buffet options in the Sugar Land/Missouri City area so I'm sure it will do just fine. Nothing crazy spectacular about the place. Just the typical Asian buffet. Some suggestions I hope they would consider is to have extra silverware or utensils for guests to grab if desired. There were no Soup spoons readily available. Also would have liked to get new utensils at times without hunting down the wait staff. There wasn't any plain white rice available that I noticed. I did note a little concern that seafood can get messy and eating with your hands. Seeing other guests dig into their crawfish, crab, and peeling shrimp then licking their fingers. I was just thinking how people would return to the bar with filthy or not properly cleaned hands and touching the shared tongs to get more food. So I'd recommend to bring your own hand sanitizer or wipes. Or they could provide wipes at the table. Or providing gloves we can use to eat our seafood. Though they just opened, I do hope they add to their offerings of something unique. Probably more dependent on the season but like having dungeons crab or lobster (crab legs when available). Even if it's only 1 per person in the price. On our exit, another guest entering did ask how it was and if we'd return. We did happily say yes. read more

They do NOT have a wide variety of seafood and the buffet lines are just what one usually finds at any ordinary Chinese buffet restaurants in town. New place that took over Cafe East buffet thats been there for decades. Their grand opening was a just 1 month ago so their interior looked pretty good and clean, however you can tell the normal grime from buffet is starting to creep in. Food wise, its like any other slightly-better-than-average chinese buffet. Don't let the name fool you, the vast majority of the dishes here are NOT seafood. Its like a kid bringing home a report card and sharing that he got an A, but didn't share they got six F's to go along with it. Overall, food here is average at best and its nothing you can't find anywhere else. However, THE WORST part of my night was when they were giving us the bill. My parents are seniors so they qualify for the 10% off during the happy hour. However they gave us the bill for regular pricing. When we try to rectify the situation, the manager said "Oh I forgot". I would believe that explanation but it also happened the first time we went, where the manager charged us more than what should have been charged. So after two visits, its safe to say that the establishment is looking to make a quick buck from unsuspecting customers and trying to scam patrons into paying more than what is advertised. I'm not going to lie, I wondered if I made a mistake when I saw the mostly empty restaurant since it's been open since early November. I still went in with an open mind and tried it out. I'm pretty sure it's the same owner of Juicy Seafood by First Colony Mall. Like any buffet, it has a variety of food both seafood and others. There are 4 buffet tables. Table 1 - some dim sum items. I didn't try any but it looked ok. Table 2 - The largest buffet table. Has both seafood and non seafood items, fried items, 2 soups. My favorite and pretty decent quality. Table 3 - Sushi table was very small and probably the saddest sushi I've ever seen. I tried it, didn't like it. Table 4 - Salad and desserts. Fruits were FRESH!! That's about all I can say. There's also a little ice cream fridge which only had 2 flavors of individual ice creams. My waitress was very attentive, always keeping my drinks refilled and tables cleared. Extra points! I was pleasantly surprised during my first visit on July 7, 2023. The food selection and quality was very good. There were only a few items that I tried that were not very tasty, to me personally. However, overall I would definitely go back there to eat. Two friends went today on my recommendation so I'm waiting on their thoughts. The employees were attentive to keeping the buffet area tidy and restocked. Our waitstaff kept our table clear of used plates and dirty napkins. She was quick and quiet to the point of me not seeing her until I realized my used plate had disappeared. I hope the restaurant does well because I miss having just such a restaurant nearby. They have tables and chairs but also comfortable booth to allow you to relax and enjoy this experience. In addition the restaurant, is pretty big and can accommodate big parties. When I went it was crawfish season so they had crawfish, shrimp, crab, dim sum, chicken, pork, and beef options. They have many different type of dish that can cater to whoever has an appetite. Services was pretty good as every time I got up to get more food my plate was gone before I was back. Although it is self service, I felt like the waiter was still present and helpful. It's solid for the area. The crawfish and mixed seafood boil is the best part of the buffet. They have a side for dim sum but do not have the most popular dishes. They only had chicken feet and short ribs. Their other highlight would be whatever they choose to feature as the grilled seafood. I've seen scallops and oysters being featured here. I went here for dinner and the food was absolutely disgusting. The only thing that was good was the raw salmon. The sushi rice has no seasoning, the spare ribs was bad, the chicken wings were so greasy, the garlic bread was like a cracker, the sesame balls were disgusting, the honey, battered shrimp was undercooked, the steam pork bun was 95% dough, and no filling, the crab Rangoon's were the absolute worst that I have ever had they were made with Tiny wonton wrappers, the salt and pepper squid was also disgusting. The restaurant got a mini makeover. Everything is clean and well decorated. We were greated warmly and shown to a table right away. Customer service was great from the time we entered until we left. The buffet selection was decent with a good variety of seafood and non-seafood selections, about half and half. They had dimsum, 2 types of soups, sushi bar, dessert and salad bar. Everything was hot and fresh. Employees were constantly coming to check and refresh the food. Everything was decent. On the con side, the price was pretty steep for the type and quality of food. If I could give zero star, I would Awful service and management. Today we went there as a family before 3:30. As lunch ends before 3:30, Dad went there first to get a table. He asked if we still could get discount as lunch Buffett. The owner said Yes. By the time I parked the car and came in (only a few minutes), the owner said they have to charge us dinner price as it past 3:30. Dad is over 80 years old, old man is generally stubborn and tends to take things seriously. He felt the owner/manager is not honest and started question the owner why she told him differently. While they were arguing, dad didn't feel well and didn't want to eat. So he put his face down on the table to rest. Dad just went to the cardiologist last week. It is so inconsiderate for the owner to argue with old people who has heart conditions, lying about time for a few dollars. My Attonery friend told me it is so stupid for the restaurant owner doing such thing as we could sue them a big time due to dad's health condition. We let it go. In order for the people in the future do not get treated the same way as us, we told the owner what the attorney said and suggested him not to argue with the old people in the future, it doesn't look good to her business. Squeezing every penny from the customer is not a good way to do business, be honest and be considerate will help them in a long run. The owner said she doesn't want to discuss it and doesn't care. I'm a big fan of buffets. I specially like buffets that feature a variety of foods with a oriental flavor and familiar menu. I found Juicy Seafood Buffet had a little extra. The menu was familiar but much more better than other buffets with a similar menu. I would have to say the food was prepared well to get this result. An example was the chicken teriyaki was more tender. The orange chicken more flavorful, the sushi was more fresher. That's the difference that has made Juicy Seafood Buffet my new favorite go to buffet. I would highly recommend Juicy for a casual night out or when very hungry. You won't be disappointed. read more

Although they "seafood" in their name, the seafood is limited and not the best quality. You can fill up on the other Asian offerings which are okay, but nothing was outstanding. They offer a few dim sum items, like chicken feet, BAO's and sticky rice, but Again, nothing special.
