A very fun, nostalgic candy shop in downtown Julian. The owner was very kind and helpful. Lots of old style candies and modern sweets. We literally spent an hour in the shop looking at all the goodies. Great place to visit and spend your money at.

This is one of the places on the main strip that caters to the tourists. Ain't gonna lie, some of the candy prices in packs seemed pricey but I get it. This is how stores like this survive in the times we are in right now. They did have a good selection of candies and even some old time sodas that aren't sold in your Walmarts or Target's.

Candy fanatics unite! This place located upstairs in a small shopping are in the Historic District in Julian is a candy lovers dream. Any candy and I do mean any candy as well as those of our youth that they may not make or cannot find in standard grocery or liquor stores are here in this shop. Anything from old school button candy to Pop Rocks, to Zagnuts and Oh Henry! (both of which you usually cant find) are easily available at this store. Are you a fan of old school soda's such as Jolt or the old soda fountain type fruit drinks such as Black Cherry Soda or Blueberry soda or even soda made with original sugar cane sugar is also available here in a large variety. There is so many items to choose from it is incredible. I felt like a kid in a candy store....literally but it is actually so much more. To see some of the nostalgic candy and soda's is a treat you cant find in too many places these days outside of a few soda fountain type stores (becoming a real rarity). This place is a hidden gem that is well worth searching out if you are in town and want to relive your youth or simply pick up some tasty sweets. Check it out.

AMBIANCE Parking: Street parking in downtown Julian. It can get pretty busy based on the time and season. Vibes: Welcome to Julian! A small town feel as you can experience almost everything within a block. However there are also some cool bars/farms to explore around to. The Cider Mill itself is in the heart of downtown Julian. Shelves filled with jams, preserves, candies, local honey, nuts, dried fruits, and all kinds of nostalgic treats. FOOD / DRINKS Apple Boysenberry Cider (Recommend) I'm a fan of apple but a fan of all seasonal flavors. I enjoyed the sweetness and light tart of the berry flavor - a nice depth of tanginess that just felt lively. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and welcoming. Ondean served me a sample of the drinks and they were great! TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good selections, good products, and a pleasant experience. I love the small town feel as they're attentive with the details and interaction. Julian Cider Mill isn't anything flashy just your good old reliable snack shop when you need it. As we walked in, I was so impressed with how many products they were offering. Lots of different honeys, candies, ciders, sauces, pickled vegetables, toys, beef jerky, snacks, and so much more. Absolutely, loved the samples of apple ciders. They were offering cherry and boysenberry flavors. We enjoyed the boysenberry cider so we had to get a cup of it. Although, I felt it was pricey for a small cup of cider where I gulp it in a minute. Really refreshing since it was a nice day out in Julian. The staff were very inviting and nice. Store is small, so when it got busy we had to leave. Worth checking out when you are looking for something to do in Julian.

We were searching for some retro candy for an upcoming event. The warehouse isn't huge, but it is big for a candy store. It is really for buying cases of bulk candy. It is not a cutely displayed vintage candy store, but it also does not claim to be. It was a really good place to get the bulk of the candy we needed for the event. Everything was sold in large amounts. We picked up some items such as jawbreakers, candy cigarettes, Big League Chew, and Now and Laters. I did wish some times came in more of a variety pack and that others came in slightly smaller portions. We did decide to buy some of the items elsewhere because we simply didn't want that much of one flavor of a certain type of candy. I think it is a great place to buy candy in bulk, though I do think the variety could be a bit better. All in all, it was a useful trip for us to prepare for our event.

It is located in Valley Center, so be prepared for your trek. I always go with plenty of snacks, food and water. Having celiac means the food tents will not have options for any food restrictions, but maybe if you're lucky you can get a lemonade for $13 or something. Be prepared to shell out exorbitant amounts for any purchases. The pumpkin patch is a great place to get fall pictures, but the prices are wild. The rides are about $5 each for a minute or two. The bounce obstacle course was $5 for three times running through. It was unreasonable. The gift shop sold the cheapest temu crappy toys for $20!! Buy you're own toys at Walmart and bring them with you to keep the kids happy. I can buy junk on my own. The nuts and candy and dried fruits are probably the only thing I am ok with buying. It's about the price of Sprouts or Whole Foods. I'll usually buy my kiddo a treat and steer him away from the insanity of the price tags of the crappy toys and we're good to go.
