I went today for the Sunday buffet.. $15.21 w/tax No drink.Its more than the weekday of 9.99 because they have dinner items out,like crab legs. When I see reviews I like to see prices because that's a factor to me. For $15- with crab legs its worth it.. But some of the items were poor ,some were average, some were good ,overall nothing was really great .I would eat there again.Its hard to screw up snow crab legs. But my biggest problem with the place is the food temperature.The first crab rangoon I had was lukewarm at best. I bit into a mozzarella stick it was hard block of cheese,no creamy,guey hotness at all. The sushi was good.The chinese was very average. Horrible egg roll.1 of my favorites,if theyre good.Fried rice,i didnt even try,because of the looks.. I don't know if I would go there for the lunch at 9.99.. Because the crab legs really is what made it for me .So dinner or weekends I think is better for me. read more

Solid place! I grew up going to Asian buffets in Texas and this place had it down. The mussels were good and they have a wide variety of seafood because it's New Orleans. The sushi isn't quality compared to what else you can get here - even on the block - but it's definitely on par with cafeteria sushi. I liked that they had mushrooms and other veggies in addition to the usual fried fare. If you feel nostalgic for this type of thing, definitely give it a try! read more

My family and I came here to celebrate my niece's high school graduation and my nephew's birthday on the same day. In the beginning, our waitress was nice and gave us the approval to let us serve ourselves. It was my first time at that place and I wish the attitude I received from the cooks in the hibachi and sushi area could have been less condescending and more lively. They did not have much of a effervescent personality, as if they didn't want to be there, and that made me feel very nervous. The vibes I first received from being greeted by the front entrance and escorted to our seats has changed drastically from that point on. I witnessed an African American customer who tried to talk to one of the female employees as she walked towards our way with a cart. He made a request in an friendly manner for more shrimp when they were running low on it. She became completely unmindful to him and proceeded to walk pass us. What bothered me is that she was directly in front of us when he attempted to talk to her, which tells me that she did hear him and decided to ignore him. As my family and I arrived at the end of our lunch together, from a short distance, the waitress made an intent gaze toward my father's hands as he was counting the cash he was using to pay the bill and, suddenly, the waitress walked over to my mother and surreptitiously told her that the bill comes with tip, which was very unprofessional. All she did was serve us our drinks. She didn't do much of anything as our waitress, quite frankly. The food was okay but what scared me is when I saw a medium string of hair in the octopus tray. I was so distraught from the service I received from them, I couldn't even finish my plate. Also, I had a fair amount of food left to eat and I wanted to save it for later. So, I asked the waitress if I could have a 'to-go' plate. She told me that they would have to charge me extra for that. I was amazed and confused at the same time when I didn't even know that we had to pay additional money just to save our leftovers. It was just a waste of food. This is definitely one place I will never consider going back to. read more

I really enjoyed this place. The food was good and the waitstaff was great. Karen is a sweetheart. I love that they greeted us with a friendly smile and welcomed us. They even let us take a look at the buffet before deciding if we indeed wanted to stay and try them out. The cool thing is the hibachi bar, which I must say I was too hungry to even participate in because I was too hungry to wait for my food to be cooked. Which is why I love buffets. it was nice to have some really good crawfish while I was there also. Being from New Orleans I'm pretty picky about my crawfish, but I really enjoyed how well they were seasoned. Definitely made my day. So ibe been to every asian buffet in metairie and kenner. They all had their ups nd downs from bad staff to very poor food. Ive been to jumbo more tmes than i can count since Late 2017 and the food is always on point. Well today we went there for the first time in a few months the waitstaff could be a little better but they were extremely busy so i wont drop a star for that So on to today's experience after a few months The hibachi guy is the same but has upped his skill the steak usually slightly tough was slightly charred like i asked and was tender the chili sauce was delicious and had just enough Heat the chicken also cooked to perfection. Unlike the rest if the resturants ive been too the crbs and crawfish were hot and juicy, the spice and salt are to perfection on the seafood the fried foods i stay away from just because its fried. The price for 2 is around 37$ some people complain but its more than worth it. In my personal opinion you cant get better Flavor in your food from any other asian buffet. My recommendation for this place is high family friendly clean restroom and very very clenn resturant in general read more

A really good cheap buffet. They have all the Chinese food usuals such as orange chicken, shrimp fried rice and sesame chicken. They also have above average seafood, sometimes they'll have crab legs but they go quick so you have to be on the lookout for them. A good buffet! I went in with all the usual expectations and all were met. All the classics were there done just how they should be, plenty of fresh items, fruits veggies, a good selection of seafood, mostly crab and shrimp, and the usual soft serve and other desserts. I'm usually pulled towards the hibachi with the desire for something more fresh than what's on the buffet, but on a Sunday evening, the crowd was voracious enough to keep all the buffet items continuously refreshed by an older Asian lady that was busting her hump. While some items were better than others, nothing I tried was disappointing. The sushi was mostly rolls dominated by imitation crab, cream cheese and mayonnaisy sauces, there was a seaweed salad that, despite the creamy dressing (too heavy) was very good. Nigiri was limited to crab stick and shrimp but that's to be expected. Salad bar had lots of fresh fruit and accompaniments. It's entertaining to watch the different cultures and how they eat. The Asian patrons all carefully selecting this and that, mostly seafood and fresh items, fruit and veggies, eating slowly and conversing. The Hispanic patrons a little more heavy handed, lots of seafood as well, fuller plates but some Chinese American fare too. The Americans, of course, take the cake. Heaping plates of all the most calorie-laden items: cheesy crab meat, all the breaded and sugary sauced dishes, platefulls of rice and lo mein, mounds of fried foods, pizza, ribs...and not a fruit or veggie in sight! I watched a morbidly obese woman put down plate after plate while her pint sized boyfriend sat patiently and dutifully waiting, nibbling on a plate of lo mein. The wait staff is expectedly quiet and efficient. They turn the tables quick and keep the food rolling. Most of the Hispanic crown appeared to be coming from mass, dressed in their Sunday best. I'm on my quest to find real Chinese food in New Orleans... Chinese food cooked for Chinese people, not to American tastes. Unfortunately, Jumbo Buffet doesn't meet that criteria. Your typical Chinese buffet, with a bar of desserts, a bar of fried foods (fried scallops, shrimp, chicken, onion rings, french fries, and frog legs-this is how you know this isn't California), a bar of meats (beef ribs, fried chicken, roast beef), a bar of "Chinese" food (lo mein, beef and broccoli, stir fried green beans, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup), and a "salad" bar with no salad (but, inexplicably, a stack of raw oysters). The place is very clean and has a steady stream of customers. They also have a hibachi grill, ie you pick the veggies and noodles and meats and someone stir fries it right there on the grill. I was taken here with a group so I didn't pay, but I can't imagine it was very expensive. I think it's between $10-15 and it's a buffet, so you can really get all your money's worth. One extra star for the great service and owners. The people who work here are from Fu Zhou and it's a family-run business. read more

In Kenner, on Williams Blvd, right past West Esplanade Avenue on the right hand side, next to the Wal-Mart Grocery Store, but before the Bowling Alley. PARKING? They have their own parking lot, and it's huge, so you can always find a place to park. SERVICE? Some of the best wait-staff around. Seriously. The wait-staff at this location truly seems to go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful meal. CLEANLINESS? Always clean on every visit. SAFETY? Pretty safe. Haven't seen or heard about any issues here in all the years that it's been open. ATMOSPHERE? Very family friendly, always busy, never too loud. PRICES? Good prices for a full buffet. It does cost more and Sundays, but that's because they offer Boiled Shrimp, Crawfish and Crabs all day long, not just for supper. read more

Impromptu lunch with 13 of my family members led us to Jumbo Buffet. It was a busy Sunday morning, but they seated us pretty fast. Only about half of us had been here before, but not me. This was maybe my second buffet place I have tried in the city so far. It was actually pretty darn good and I liked what they had to offer. It is basically Chinese food, some sushi, seafood, and a hibachi grill. I went straight for the hibachi, piled a bunch of meat and veggies on a plate and then man grilled it up. While I waited for it to cook I went through the rows and rows of food and put those on a new plate. They have so much stuff that you can really get your moneys worth. Lot of crab, crawfish, and oysters that can be eaten nonstop. I am usually wary about sushi, but theirs is pretty darn alright. The overall place is good quality and the service was also well. I feel two stars is actually kind of generous for this buffet. It was a pretty disappointing experience for myself and my fiancé. The service was friendly and that was a plus. The chicken wings and black pepper chicken were also good. But that's about it. The rest of the food was pretty terrible, some bordering on inedible. We eat at Chinese buffets every now and then so we weren't expecting sit down restaurant quality food. But this was just a poor quality buffet, unfortunately. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are good. The down side is that the food was mediocre in my opinion. Excellent for lunch or dinner. Reasonably priced and an outstanding wait staff aiming to please you. The buffet has an on site Sushi chef, Habachi Chef and a head kitchen chef. If you purchase the same amount of food consumed at one meal at Jumbo, at a menu restaurant, you would pay well over $100. At Jumbo you pay one price of $12.95. per person. This dinning experience is as good as it gets. Go treat yourself to one of the best meals in our area. I'm getting hungry just writing about this and will be headed that way right now! Came here for snow crab legs, they refilled the tray maybe once the whole time I was there and they only put enough out for one person. How can you advertise serving something you don't actually serve? People were literally lurking around the steam table waiting to empty the tray as soon as it was put out. The best kept secret. How do they sell all this amazing seafood for so cheap? What is special about this Buffett compared to some of the other ones is they put all the good seafood out even for lunch. Raw oysters, boiled crabs, mussels, jumbo easy to peel shrimp.. Only thing they leave out of the lunch Buffett is snowcrab legs. The sushi tastes just as good as a non-Buffett. Always clean and fresh. They even have a hibachi grill. Mediocrity is the most you can expect from any Chinese Buffet. This one was better than most when they first opened. It has slid back to that mediocre level. Snow crabs are pretty scarce here. They won't put them out in any quantity or frequency. You can ask for more crabs, but don't hold your breath. The titles of the dishes are hit and miss. The baked salmon is now labeled smoked salmon.... it isn't smoked. What was salt and pepper shrimp is now labeled Kung po shrimp. Same shrimp, different label. Sushi... well, you get a lower level of sushi that won't impress too much. Some of the other dishes are ok. Actually better than other Chinese buffets, but that quality bar has been lowered so much. Came here once for Saturday night around 6pm and the food was weird. I am always trying to find a good buffet around New Orleans and decided to try this place since the reviews seemed okay. The service was good and the price was decent. I tried every single dish they had and they all had a weird taste to them. It tasted like they over seasoned everything with MSG. Wow... Seriously? I guess the other buffets in this area are poisoning people, because this place is only slightly above "edible" .. Flavorless, bland everything... The general Tso had like zero flavor .. I'm not sure how that can even be done, but they succeeded. They also clearly cooked the chicken hours before, because it was little fossilized nuggets in flavorless sauce. Sushi was flavorless and marginal, but they do get credit for a wider range than the normal buffet choices. Service was lousy really .. No plate clearing until it was a stack. Meh. A co-worker and i went for lunch and though they have a good variety of food, i was underwhelmed. I went up for my first plate and straight to Orange chicken (i love orange chicken) and found a hair connecting three pieces... after that I mostly lost my appetite. I told a worker and he took those pieces out. I still ate other stuff lol. They had a good variety of sushi but the pieces i had, the rice was under cooked. The service wasn't bad, our drinks were refilled but i wouldn't come here again. I'm glad my coworker paid. read more
