I've seen this pho restaurant many times, but today was my first time trying it. Since it's newly opened, the interior is clean and spacious. When we walked in, a male server immediately showed us to our table. However, after sitting for about 15 minutes, no one came to bring menus or ask what we wanted to order, even though the restaurant was not very busy at the time. I had to wave to get the server's attention before he remembered to bring us the menus. After placing our order, we waited over 30 minutes for the food. What was frustrating was that customers who came in after us were served before we were. I'm not sure how their service or order management works. I ordered the small bowl of pho with rare beef, tendon, and tripe for $13. My friend ordered the five-color rice dish for $17.50. The pho was decent overall, and the broth was flavorful, but my order was incorrect because it came without tendon, which is the part I like most. I informed the server, and he later brought out a small bowl of tendon separately. Unfortunately, the five color rice was very disappointing and overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area. It had a lot of customers dining in & out pretty fast, but the staff was always attentive when I needed things like a cup of ice for my childs apple juice because it wasn't cold. Overall, I don't mind paying their prices because I know that they're really good, easy self seating and good service. I've had Pho growing up mostly in Long Beach but when I moved out to GG, I knew I would have my work cut out for me to find the best. Pho Hoan Pasteur definitely gives other establishments a run for their money. I love their original Pho and when I'm in a silly goofy mood I add on their Vietnamese iced coffee and the shrimp and beef vermicelli. It's so delicious, like a deconstructed spring roll with super tender beef. Pho for me is such a comfort and recovery food, and this place does just that for me. I've only ever DoorDashed with them so price wise they are a bit on the higher side comparatively. But at least I know I'll have solid Pho. read more

I got the pho satay (aand my bf got the regular pho tai Nam gan sach. Pho satay 3.5/5: I don't know how I feel about it. It was good, but it didn't amaze me. I couldn't make out the flavors entirely. We tasted more sweet curry notes than we did satay. The satay/peanut flavor was pretty subtle. It felt like I was eating a different version of bo kho (beef noodle stew). On the plus side, they gave A LOT of meat. Soup was oily but that's to be of expected. Also, didn't think the soup was meant to be drunken like pho soup. Pho tai nam gan sach 3.5/5: Beef pho with tripe and tendon. Not sure if it's because I tasted this after eating the pho satay but the flavor felt light. Clean but light. I eat a lot of pho growing up so I know my pho flavors and I can say this one was a good clean version, not the msg flavor. My favorite part about coming here was no wait especially on a cold, raining Friday night during prime dinner time!
