My boyfriend and I have driven by this place many times and decided to try it yesterday. They bring hot bread to the table when you arrive which I always like :) For dinner I was in the mood for a salad and my boyfriend wanted something heavier. I got the Tuscan Kale salad and it was tasty; it was fresh and had a great ginger based dressing. My boyfriend got the veal scallopini and it was good but the portion was very small. For a $30 entree he expected to get more food! I usually help myself to samples of his dinner but I felt guilty this time because he had so little on his plate! Overall, good food but overpriced for what you get. I've heard that lunch is a different experience, though, so maybe we will try that. read more

Food is great and the staff is fantastic. Very nice place! My family and I went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. My daughters loved the homemade batter pancakes. I ate a boar omelette and my wife had eggs Benedict. Mabel, the staff member, was very kind to my daughters. She even asked the kitchen to make Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes. I love the food at Jumps and have never been disappointed. (Outside of being served a soup that was much, much too lava hot.) I do find it slightly pricey for the atmosphere - so prefer the lunch menu. I also find service a bit of a mixed bag. Wow, I have not been here in two years and I love the new upstairs location even more. Great gourmet dishes, the chicken chilli is still outstanding, I wish it was available in the grocery store. Great portions, great service, it's all around GREAT! A true Grosse Pointe Local spot. Not a great place for people who prefer junk food and Mcdonalds, more of a spot for people who appreciate the finer things in life and enjoy flavors and quality. So, If you are a fat hungry complaining cheapskate you are sure to be disappointed and should maybe try the coney Island, Wendy's on Mack or Bunchys chicken downtown after all space is still limited and I would hate to have to wait for some uncooth neaderthal who thinks they are going to a crumb around. read more

Really great spot for brunch. Have a benedict and or omelet. Get a side of russet potatoes. The mimosa and bloodys are very good. Service is average. Waitresses are froendly though. We did have a hair in our potatoes though a new dish was made and on our plate in minutes. I suggest reservations if coming on a sunday morning. My wife and I found this place on a whim. We walked in off the street and it wasn't very busy. We took a glance at the menu and decided to stay for dinner. Sure glad we did! Server Nicole was very attentive without being too overbearing. She showed up only when we needed her and was very pleasant. The food was very fresh and prepared perfectly. Our Caesar salads came on very chilled plates and was quite tasty. Our appetizer of seared scallops was the best I've ever had. Main dishes arrived right on time and hot! The food is classic, tasty, and worth the time it takes to prepare. The service, however, makes it an almost downright unpleasant experience. Every time I have gone, the server has been the same woman, who is very cold and inattentive. I sat for fifteen minutes with an empty coffee and empty water while I watched her socialize at the bar. Very bad service. The owner works the floor and unless you're a personal friend of her's expect to wait until all her friends are seated and served before you're even noticed. She has her hostess trained to lie for her when you ask why others are are being seated and served ahead of you. This was my wife and I's first visit to Jumps. We just moved down the street and we excited to walk to this spot. Food was delicious but the service was rude and unhelpful. Also, the $3 coffee was terrible. It is a shame such food is paired with such bad service. I am normally not one to care about a server's involvement in my dining experience, but when they are bluntly ignore you and cut you off whenever you are speaking it really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Our food sat under the heat lamps for 15 minutes, we timed it on our phones, before being slung on our table. We just moved to GP from Portland where servers earned their tips and conducted their work with pride. It's a shame we keep finding such low level of service in the GP area so often. Seems like most review here complain of bad service. So who is going to make this change happen? Interior decor really needs a face lift for the prices they are charging. I thought Jumps was extremely mediocre. The white bean chili was more like bean soup, the ceasar salad was barely average. I think the menu offered short ribS, but when the dish arrived it was only one rib. We all stared at it in disbelief. The mashed potatoes that came with it were good, though. We went to Jumps for dinner on our Anniversary and it was terrible. The food was sooo salty and the waitress had a bad attitude - she couldn't have cared less that our food tasted bad. There were no vegetarian entrees so I ordered a salad and they put bacon on it even though there was no mention of bacon in the description. The waitress said that they had a new sous chef in the kitchen and he threw it on. Needless to say, she did not offer a new salad with bacon to me, so I had to pick it off. Our office loves going to Jump's. The food is great! My favorite is the Maurice Salad but all the other salads are surprisingly good. My colleague always goes for the stir fry and the rest go for sandwiches. When everything arrives, we can only compliment the deliciousness! The chef is amazing and he usually comes out to personally inquire about the meal. It's impossible to make a bad choice, everything is prepared fresh and is always delicious. I went here a few days ago for a nice brunch. It was phenomenal. I had the turkey and sun-dried tomato sausage, asparagus, shiitake mushroom, caramelized onion and muenster cheese omelet. It was delicious. The two other meals ordered were the salmon benedict, and a chorizo, avocado, spanish onion, tomato and smoked gouda omelet. They both got rave reviews also. I'm really looking forward to trying more of the menu. And mimosas. read more

What a fantastic find ... Jumps debuts extremely high on our priority list. From the excellent service (we'll ask for Ryan every time), to the outstanding appetizer (risotto), to the entree choices ... this was a great experience. I had the sauteed salmon, which was prepared medium and was accompanied by israeli cous cous, summer squash and roasted tomatoes and topped with artichoke and beets. Excellent! We've been going to Jumps for several years now - mostly for weekend Bruch. We started going for lunch and dinner on a regular basis since they moved to the main floor from their basement location. The food is always amazing and the staff is more than accomodating! Our 2.5 year old daughter almost always tags along with us when we go out to eat (we've been taking her there since she was born) so I was very pleasantly surprised when on our last visit there, the waitress brought over a box of crayons, stickers and several coloring books to occupy the little one while we dined. (Most places will give a measely paper placemat and a couple of crayons). We were also able to order off menu for her - a grilled cheese sandwich with a side of fruit! We had lunch here 2 hours ago. The Maurice Salad and a Pulled Pork Sandwich. The Maurice was good, but was missing the small gherkinds (pickles) in the original recipe. The pulled pork was maybe a 6 out of 10 pts - meat was delicious and tender, excess juice from the slaw (piled on top of the meat) made mush out of the bun and the BBQ sauce was non-existant. Price was fair. Waitress was good. I'd go there again. I'm thinking there are better items on the menu......I'd be sure to ask how your food will be prepared, so you can ask for items on-the-side if necessary (like the cole slaw on the sandwich). read more

Jumps is one of my favorite brunch restaurants in Grosse Pointe. It's consistently good, and I love to try something new on the menu each time I go. I look forward to seeing what their specials are, because the creativity of the chefs amazes me! Any of their eggs benedict are a safe bet, and I always make sure to get the fresh baked muffins as well. If you go at lunch time, I suggest trying one of their specials, but everything is delicious. It was lunch time on a Tuesday and the place was not at all crowded. We had just finished eating our meal which we had waited a good while just to get. We were brought our check and told we would need to leave because someone wanted our table. ?? Really?? Plenty of empty tables but someone wanted our booth so we have to hurry and leave?
