    Banchan/side dishes
    Marian X.

My friend and I came over in March and we had a great experience. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Banchan/side dishes: The kimchi was good, it has a nice crunch to it. Well marinated (but not to a point as old kimchis) and seasoned. I absolutely loved the spinach with tofu and seaweed, they're were a nice addition to the flavorful meal. Salmon/fish roe set: the salmon and fish roe were fresh, not stinky. The set comes with a salad, seafood tofu soup, and side dishes. Definitely worth the price and the quality is great as well! There's actually seafood in the tofu soup. Fish roe bibimbap: unlike the Jumunjin sets, the bibimbap options only come with a miso soup. But really no complaints here, the fish roes are very tasty and fresh. Grilled mackerel: the grilled mackerel was not oily at all! I have tried grilled mackerel at other places and all turned out to be very oily. The mackerel was fresh, tender and well seasoned. The lemon juice adds a hint of refreshing flavor. This also came with a seafood tofu soup. Overall, this place was delicious and outstanding. Everything was worth the price. You are given with a bowl of rice once you have ordered, and the dishes/soup that comes with the meal really make it a full large meal. We had a great experience, the service was welcoming and helpful. I saw chef was slicing the fishes in the front. The restaurant is very spacious, a great place for large parties. However, the fishy smell is very noticeable. They are located in the plaza right across the street from The Source, so it's a great alternative if you want to explore something different. I'm actually very sad to see the poor reviews it has received recently, my friend and I definitely want to go back to try more dishes. I hope they're able to keep up with their quality and service.

If you love fresh seafood... this is a spot for you. This new restaurant has ample space to accommodate for any party size. The restaurant is big and clean and the service was so friendly. They even help you break down the crab and crab legs. For three people, we got a small steamed seafood set, some sashimi, tempura, and soup at the end. The selection was great - it came with the option between snow crab or Dungeness crab, shrimp, clam, mussel, snail, octopus, and even abalone. Nice presentation and fresh seafood. Surprisingly my favorite bite was their assorted fish roe sotbap. A simple dish but so flavorful. This is a great spot to have a dinner or even drinking food with friends. The ladies working were so nice, helpful, and attentive. We came on a weekday dinner and it was not crowded but I assume weekends would be more packed.

Named after a famous Fish Market in Korea, Jumunjin is a new addition to the Buena Park food scene, and at the time of my visit they were still waiting on their liquor licenses. I came here with my friend for lunch so I wasn't looking to drink, but I feel like this type of restaurant is a good spot to munch and drink at. Service was incredibly attentive, and they even welcomed us to a bigger table so we can be comfortable. The interior was spacious. They are still in the soft opening phase so they wanted to go above and beyond for their customers. My friend and I had the Jumunjin Signature Combo ($129.99) which had so much food it was probably good for 3 or 4 people. The banchans came out first, along with the butter and marinara sauce, then the sashimi, baked mussels, tempura, fried fish, and octopus rice. This all led to the main attraction if the steam style seafood with mussels, abalone, clams, snails, oysters, scallop, shrimp, octopus, and Dungeness crab. We had to pick between the Dungeness crab and the snow crab, and I knew the snow crab was easier to eat but the Dungeness crab is definitely better value. Then at the end they brought out the kalgulsu noodles to finish up the course. So epic!! SO MUCH FOOD!! A part of me feels like I liked some of the snack bites more than the main course. Just to give the business some feedback since they are still soft opening, I think the butter should come later with the seafood because it was cold and hard by the time the seafood came out, since it came out first. Also I felt the crab, snails, and abalone were well cooked but some items like the clams, oysters, and scallops were overcooked and crazy dry. The meal is undeniably good value for so much seafood but there is still room for improvement. I hope the business can adapt and improve as they continue their business. If I come back I would want to come here in the evening when I have more time to relax and really focus on tackling the food. It was a little bit stressful to enjoy such a elaborate meal during my lunch hour.

I found a new korean resraurant just opened at the Fuddrucker restaurant place in BP. I didn't know that restaurant was gone until I got there today. I was so excited to try hot pot w abalone for my choice. Side dishes, kimchi, brocollis w imitation crab meats, seaweed, fish cakes, mini potatoes, and some kind of white acorn jelly, which were fresh, tasty, and refillable. As entrée, abalone, mushroom hot pot was not hot enough, no hot steam came from the rice pot at all??? Looked like they put a little sliced abalones, lots of shitake mushrooms as toppings over steamed rice in the pot. The rice pot itself was not hot. I couldn't taste the real steamy, fresh cooked rice. Dissapointed! It added little radish pickles, korean traditional spicy squids, salad, and wasabi w sauce, accompanied w shrimp clam hot tofu stew. I think they had to ask me what flavor do I like for hot tofu first, then bring my choice either seafood or beef. No options for hot tofu. To be honest, It didn't meet my expectation as a hot rice pot lover and not the same one I'd used to eat in Korea a while ago. My hubby chose eel hot pot. His fave food all the time. He liked the hot pot and hot tofu. He doesn't like hot broth or hot foods just like me. He waits until the soup cools down. That is why he doesn't care about the temperature. I asked our server when this restaurant opened and he said, 3 weeks ago. Very New! That is why the foods were not perfect yet or too many items are on the menu? Sushi, rolls, and sashimi, Hinoki steamed seafoods including snow crab, and more korean cuisines.... The space is huge in the dining area including annex dining room all the way in the back. The service was good, attentive, and friendly. I went to the bathroom, found broken hook on the door so I couldn't hang my purse. They need to fix the broken part. I always check the service, quality, and restroom. This is a part of customer service. The parking was enough in the big korean Plaza on the Beach. I hope they can improve the hot pot w more toppings, right temperature when they serve the foods to the table.

My wife found a new Korean hot rice pot in BP. Their specialty is steamed Hinoki seafoods, snow crabs, sushi, rolls, sashimi, and traditional korean fish seafood stew, and etc. I noticed this place were former Fuddrucker restaurant. That restaurant is gone. The restaurant just opened 3 weeks ago. I noticed lots of korean people started to get here during lunch time. The location is really good between Beach Blvd and Orangethorpe. I chose eel rice hot pot and my wife got abalone mushroom hot pot. I wanted to order some soju but it has shown they didn't get the alcohol license yet at the entrance. Just new restaurant....new. The 6 side dishes are fresh, good, including kimchi, seaweed, broccoli, white jelly, mini potatoes, and fish cakes. I got my hot pot w seafood hot tofu, side radish pickles, spicy squids, wasabi, and soy sauce. Every thing was good for me. Loved eel and hot tofu. The service was attentive, friendly, fast. The restaurant is so big, including sushi bar in the middle, annex dining room in the back. My wife is picky for the food temperature. She said my hot pot is not hot enough, no steam at all.... It is not what I am looking for.... Oh! No! She likes real steamed fresh cooked hot pot like she had in Korea. I didn't see the steam came from the pot as soon as I opened the lid. Overall, they have lots of variety of Japanese sushi, rolls, sashimi, and korean style Inoki steamed seafoods, and traditional cuisines. I hope they can fix the temperature of hot rice pot sooner. I know most korean love fresh cooked hot rice pot and nuroongi toasted on the bottom of pot.

Found that they did sotbap and wanted to try it out as they didn't have the popular Korean sorbap in OC yet. (Sotbap is rice in a metal dish usually with some protein on top.) Got the salmon fish roe and was very good! I did season with the wasabi and soy sauce provided. They also gave separate side dishes with the sotbap which was nice. I personally didn't like the stew that came with it as it wasn't my style but my friend liked it. Definitely worth a try if you want sotbap and don't want to drive to ktown in LA! Parking was easy and restaurant is quite big.

I told myself not to believe any reviews I saw and took a chance. Been wanting to try this place for awhile and I am not disappointed. I'm super impressed with the service and especially the food. I ordered the sushi sashimi combo and was blown away. The quality was way better than expected and so much better than a lot of the places I've gone to. The tempura that came with it was the perfect texture and really complimented the sushi and sashimi. The sushi was amazing, a really good balance of fish and rice ratio if not perfect in my opinion. The rice was cooked and seasoned well and didn't fall apart when you grab the sushi. The sashimi just melts in your mouth. The staff and owner are super nice. They're really welcoming and made sure that everything came out well. It's a really spacious place with plenty of seating and it looks really nice inside. You can even host get togethers for big or small groups. Definitely recommend coming here for a date or even just a night out with the family.

    Steamed seafood!!!

Amazing seafood experience! I had a wonderful time at Jumunjin. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and every dish was packed with flavor. The atmosphere was great, and the staff was super friendly. I highly recommend this place if you love seafood!

The crab was absolutely delicious, especially with their special butter sauce. Service was prompt and well-organized -- at least two servers attended to each course, making the experience seamless. The restaurant is spacious enough that our group felt comfortable and could converse privately without feeling crowded by other diners. Good for group

    Galbi sotbap
    Christine Yuna H.

Jumunjin is a new restaurant specializing in seafood and sotbap. Sotbap is rice cooked until the bottom is crispy with a protein usually on top. I went during their soft opening and ordered the galbi sotbab. After ordering, the waiter came out and said that the soondubu that the galbi sotbab usually comes with wasn't available and brought out a miso soup. The miso soup was disappointing and didn't go well with the sotbab. The galbi portion also didn't match the price. Otherwise, side dishes were great and would try again.

    sashimi platter

Guys. The quality of the seafood is genuinely insane, holy. Definitely get the sashimi if you can!!

This restaurant is in a strip mall with a decent amount of parking and the restaurant itself is quite spacious. It looks like there's a small area that can be used for events if needed. I came here for lunch a lunch break and the food took about 30-40 minutes to come out so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're strapped on time because the food comes out a bit slow. The presentation of the food was quite pretty. I ordered the eel sotbap and it was pretty decent but I felt a bit oily after finishing my meal. I think they're more well known for their steamed boxes or their raw fish so if I do come back I'll try their sashimi instead.

It's a coursed meal centered around sashimi platters (very unusual to see nigiri at these restaurants), and dishes made with rest of the fish that became sushi. It's sashimi with a lot of extra accoutrements you'd expect in a Korean restaurant. We started with porridge and miso soup, and lots of banchan, including cheesecorn and steamed egg. Then came the sashimi platter. In Korean sushi houses, you get to have soy sauce AND a gochujang based sauce (it's gochujan and vinegar). They also gave us sesame oil + salt and dried seaweed which I think is for the tuna. Then there was tokoyaki, fried rice cakes, tempura, spicy fish stew, grilled fish, fried salmon skin, fried chicken, and spicy marinated crab. All while getting refills on the banchan. It was exactly what I was wanting, as I have not found anything like it in Seattle! The staff was super friendly, and they had a lot of other items on the menu that I would love to try at some point in the future! Highly recommend!

The live set included a lot of side dishes. It also included halibut and flounder, a platter of abalone, sea cucumber, cold soup, hot fish soup, calamari and vegetable tempura. All of which were amazing and tasted very fresh. The live octopus was definitely an experience. They tasted fresh and sweet and were very actively moving. Many items came with its own sauce so they made sure we were doing it right. We spent about $400 for 3 people which included alcohol. I thought it was fair especially for how fresh our seafood was. The inside of the restaurant is pretty casual but clean. You can also see most of the seafood items. I recommend if if you want live seafood items Korean style. We will be back.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. They made sure we get the best experience as it was our first time dining at this place. We had the big eye fish as they called it and they steamed it at the other empty table because our buns and dumplings were steaming at the same time to save time. They finish the fish at the kitchen with the hot oil and sauce. We also had the pork and shrimp buns, and beef dumplings. They were delicious! You can make your sauce at the station too and they provide good options. We also got the baby oysters appetizer that was soaking in some sort of light soy sauce marinade. Also got the soft shell crab and you get 3 whole crabs for $10! It was so worth it! The whole restaurant looked clean and inviting. The booths were spacious.
