Found this place randomly on social media, but it seems like it's not too well-known. The restaurant is very local, like a family owned, quite homey. As we step foot into the place, we know we would get treated like family by the Korean ajumma. They are really nice and informative. They even make sure we don't over-order so we can enjoy the good sutff. We got ourselves a seafood and sashimi combo. Before you think it's very little food, think twice, third time, fourth time. I've never seen a combo that they have to split in two different combos because that's how much food they bring out, for just one combo. Every seafood item is fresh and tasty with no complaint. Other food items in the combo are also very flavorful. The amount of food is ridiculous, not even kidding. Be sure to ask before you order a ton. I highly recommend this place for fresh seafood and a Korean family feast. It's pretty worth a visit!

Wow this place has such amazing sashimi. Everything felt so fresh and soft. We ordered the combo for two people and it came with so much food. It is definitely worth the price. My favorite thing was everything . I would defiantly come back!

Amazingly fresh sashimi. Service was fast. Our server hooked us up with items we were looking for and kindly checked the back to see if it was still available. She surprised us with uni! Beautifuly presented on top the the urchin shellm. We got the sashimi set for 4 based on her recommendation, there were 5 adults and one 12 yr old. We were glad we did not order more because this set came with so much food. Premium sashimi, delicious banchan and other dishes. We went home with 2 bags of food to go. Anyone who eats here will leave stuffed!!! Ambience is casual. We came here for the San-nakji it was fresh, it was fun to eat. We also tried their marinated crab it was fresh sweet and spicy flavor.. Definitely a must try place for large groups! Highly recommended

Kuni Sashimi has one of the freshest seafood in the area. The portions are generous and I didn't pace myself well enough. I didn't know the amount we ordered, so I was full midway. The service was excellent. The staff members were very friendly and came to our table to check up on us regularly.

Very tasty korean seafood restaurant and located close to Knotts Berry Farm for a nice dinner after a day of fun! Although it's located in a somewhat desolate looking plaza, the interior was decorated like a fun korean pub with lights and decor. The dishes we ordered were also all very good - the oysters and shrimps were very fresh and not fishy at all. I especially enjoyed the raw shrimp marinated in soy sauce. The uni pasta was great as well - the taste was not too creamy, but could use more uni pieces. Unlike other places, there still were uni bits in the pasta, and no extra charge for that. If I have the chance, I would like to come back to try their sashimi sets. They look very fresh and were cut so aesthetically!

Ordered: - Fish Egg Bibimbap (4/5): Served in hot bowl. It was very crunchy and creamy thanks to the tsukemono, assorted roe, unagi, and uni. Loved the texture and flavors, but do be aware that the portion size isn't huge. Overall never had bibimbap like this before so big fan. - Tako wasabi (5/5): I am a tako wasabi enthusiast and I can say this place has great bang for buck for the amount of tako wasa you get, and tastes great. Also really appreciate it coming with extra tsukemono and seaweed salad. Overall (4/5): A new establishment which serves quality sashimi. It was pretty quiet at noon on Saturday, but quickly filled up. I was a big fan of the banchan and barley tea that was complimentary with my meal. Service was very welcoming, though was a bit slow once it got busier. Overall I'd be interested in coming back to try out the other seafood bibimbaps.

Have you tried Korean Sashimi?! At Kuni in Buena Park, CA, I had my first taste--and WOW, it's more than just sashimi, it's an epic seafood feast! For $140, the set for 2 easily feeds 3. My hubby and I were already full after devouring a massive platter of fresh halibut, salmon, tuna (various cuts!), oysters, and octopus. But that was just the beginning! They served amazing sides like steamed egg, abalone porridge, corn cheese, kimchi, and more. Just as we were ready to wrap it up, the waitress hit us with, "There's a ROUND 2!" Cue "eight more dishes" plus a comforting hot fish spicy stew. It has fun city themed vibes. Overall great time with food and atmosphere. If you're a seafood lover, this spot is a MUST. Kuni in Buena Park, CA--run, don't walk! ‍ Visual Review: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DELofARSFfW/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

A truly authentic Korean-style sashimi restaurant! The live fish is caught and sliced right in front of you, so you can trust the freshness. One of the key features of a Korean sashimi restaurant is the unbelievably generous amount of complimentary side dishes. This place is no exception--they serve tempura, corn cheese, various side dishes, and even a spicy fish stew at the end to complete the meal. The value for money is amazing! If you love seafood, I highly recommend checking it out at least once.

I always get the sashimi platter here and the side dishes have significantly improved here. It used to be a lot of fried sides, but now it has more sushi options and I prefer it much more than before. The service is always attentive and the ambience is nice for both business and personal meals. I will likely be returning soon!

These days with so many good food everywhere you go, great service is definitely a plus point. We came during lunch time on a Sunday and we were very pleased with the attention we received the moment we're seated thru the duration of our lunch. There's so many side dishes to enjoy, I personally liked the oysters and the cheese corn a lot. Sashimi is standard, it's about the same everywhere else at other Korean sashimi place. Nabe udon came very hot in a hot stone pot and it's delicious. Ambiance is great with closed partitions on each table so there's privacy there. Definitely abundance of side dishes, very satisfying.

I don't think i've ever been so full from sashimi! Kuni sashimi is literally a whole experience. I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the fish. I'm usually not the biggest fan of yellowtail but this one just melted in my mouth. Not a single piece of fish that I didn't enjoy Not only do you get a beautiful plate of SUPER FRESH seafood, the set also comes with over 20 yummy side dishes. There was corn cheese, raw marinated shrimp, oysters, tempura, and so many more!! what i ordered: * assorted sashimi combo- small $139.99 (i think this is enough for like 3 people)

No wait on a Thursday night for 4 people. We ordered the medium sashimi platter that came with a ton of sides, tuna sashimi and uni pasta. Everything was delicious and the variety made us feel like we were at a buffet. The staff is so friendly and sweet here.

We came here for lunch. Waitress refuse to put an order through a mini sushi combo because it is too little an order for a Mother's Day.

A favorite amongst the group was the beef intestine, which I've never had before and was pretty impressed by. It was super juicy and paired well with the scallions and sauce. Another favorite of the group was the corn cheese. It was like a pizza but corn cheese. My absolute tried and true is the pork belly. The interior is clean, newly built, and has a modern Korean hanok-style look. The servers were also friendly both times, so I didn't have any issues with the service or atmosphere. Unfortunately, the main problem for me was the food. I've eaten at the LA location before and never really thought the food tasted bad there, but at this Buena Park location, both visits gave me the impression that the food didn't taste as fresh as it should. On my most recent visit, I ordered the soondae gukbap, and the soondae had an unpleasant off smell and didn't taste very fresh. It almost tasted like it had been sitting for a while. On my first visit, I tried the regular pork gukbap, and the pork flavor was also stronger than I personally prefer. I do tend to like cleaner-tasting gukbap, but this stood out to me because I don't remember having the same issue at the LA location. After the first visit, I thought maybe it was just an off day since the restaurant was still new. But after having a similar impression on my second visit, I'm not sure if this location is consistent yet. The space is nice and the service was good, but for a gukbap restaurant, the food has to be the main reason to come back. Based on my two visits, this location was disappointing for me.

But since I moved out of LA, it's so inconvenient to get to. Enter Kyung Bok Kung -- what a find. I can get a fine dining korean bbq experience conveniently. I've been here a number of times, and this review reflects the few times I've been there. It's become the goto spot to take people from out of town who are visiting and want a Kbbq experience. Things I immediately noticed - lots of white and grey teslas in the parking lot during lunch - you know what that means? Golf Koreans. Yup. Go inside and you'll see incredibly well dressed older retired people with their buddies chatting up in private cubicles. Beautiful decor. It's like the background setting of a korean drama where there's a close-up of the guy and the girl - they're about to say something really serious to each other. The camera does a wide angle shot of them - and this is the restaurant it's shot in. Price points - this place isn't cheap, but they have incredibly good deals on a weekday lunch (cold noodles and meat set). Their dinner set course meals are priced around what you would expect from a quality steak house. This place is not as pricey as AB steak or Cote, but you're getting just as quality. Food - I've had the lunch set meals, the bbq grilled course, and ordered à la carte. One thing is for sure - they don't miss. I never had a 9 budda plate until I came here, but apparently it's like a thing that royals ate during the monarchy days. It was like a korean vegetarian taco. Very intricate (and slightly annoying) to put together but delicious - and a great test of your chopstick skills. Their braised beef (galbijjim) from their lunch set intersects savory, sweet, and tenderness in a way that only Korean grandmas do. I'm not a huge fan of Wagyu beef (just too rich and can never feel after eating it), but I have never felt that way coming out of here. Go here at night if you want to impress someone or celebrate something. Go here during lunch if you want a fantastic meal and want to see what the best korean food can taste like but don't want to break the bank.
