Extra points for the luscious gluten free offerings! The Pot Roast Bites were superb. The salmon perfectly flaky and golden crusted. And the cauliflower purée,-- amazing! Server was very helpful with the menu and gluten free information. The manager came to our table and told us our order was delayed in the kitchen (we didn't even know or think it was too long). He gave us a dessert for the delay. Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and recommend. I would prefer less TV in the dining room, but the gluten free things are covering that. read more

Great place for lunch and looks like for dinner, also. I went with customers and we all had something different and everyone enjoyed their meals, from philly sandwich to pulled pork sandwich to large burgers. I had the Salmon burger and wild rice chicken soup. Both were fantastic, fresh, and flavorful. Homemade salmon patty with a pickled something on it that added great taste. Soup was also excellent and had a smoked chicken in it. I imagine their BBQ options are really good based on the good smokiness in chicken. Didn't get to try but they had a good 50+ beers on tap. Finally made it over to try this new place and as of now it's 5 big stars. Had breakfast at noon and have had few better. Eggs Benedict were perfect, with real Canadian bacon, toasted English muffins and a top tier hollandaise. Also tasted the French toast and it was some of the best I've had ever. Sides of hash browns, bacon and sausage were also very tasty and I could tell high quality. This place has a chef, not a cook, and the food is much better than any other Hastings, Cottage Grove or Woodbury option....and guess what? It's a sports bar with over 35 great beers on tap and huge high def video of multiple events. It will be the go to place for football, and I can't wait to go back for lunch and dinner eats. It's rare to see a place doing it right in Cottage Grove or Hastings. Plus the prices are extraordinarily low for the quality of food AND they have extended happy hours deals. We've been back several times since this first review and it remains great. This restaurant proves one thing for Cottage Grove and Hastings. If you actually serve high quality tasty food you can thrive and be constantly in demand. Those that deluded themselves serving mediocre or low quality food, while ignoring feedback, will always struggle for customers and profit. Met a buddy here for a social distanced lunch on the covered patio. The hostess was pleasant and efficiently seated us on the well kept patio area. Our server visited in a short while and returned to take our orders. We both ordered the pulled pork sandwich which, oddly, was a combination of Memphis and South Carolina-style pork served on the same bun. The menu was not clear as we, as well as others according to the server, assumed this would be a choice rather than a combination. Oh well... Bottom line, whether it was a result of combining the 2 flavors or both sauces being "so-so," the sandwich was just OK. The bun was fine but the meat didn't appear to be very fresh. Who knows if the sauce was added when the sandwich was made or cooked separately but the blend just didn't work. Maybe, if served separately, the two varieties would be better on their own. The inside of the restaurant is very attractive, restrooms were clean, server was well above average, TV's worked and the staff was friendly. Those items bumped a 2 Star rating to a "3" and I would try it again if in the area. read more

All of the food we tried was just ok. We had the cheese curds, the hangover burger, and the cheese pizza. Meh. Nothing special. The service was good, our waiter was very friendly and quick. It was a little strange to see all of the staff start doing shots at the bar. Probably won't be going back. read more

A big homerun for Cottage Grove! Everything about this new place is well done - I'm pretty impressed. A formal Sports Bar type of vibe - whoever the architect was should be given some big props - it pays to have a good design (not cookie cutter like the national chains). The building does not appear that big from outside but is extremely efficient inside - a massive bar area with killer tv's for the sports enthusiast. A nice sized family dinning area. The vaulted ceiling over the bar is very nice and the windows along the outdoor seating area are garage doors that can be opened on a nice day. Overall has a higher-end more formal feel - like you'd get in neighboring Woodbury - this place is as good as many of the great similar places in Woodbury - which Cottage Grove needs - we need unique business that brings people to town - this is a good step in that direction. I've been a resident of Cottage Grove for over 15 years and this is the best restaurant we've had when you factor in the quality of the facility, the food and it's uniqueness - Only a 'soft open' right now so the menu is limited but the vibe and food here are fabulous. I had the opportunity to have brunch at Junction 70 today (Sunday) and wanted to share a few comments and observations: + The cheesy hashbrowns were very good (Hot and flavorful) + The flat bread pizzas were good. We tried a cheese and one with green olives and red onions. Neutral: *Scrambled eggs (plain and with meat?) looked strange and would have been better if they had been warmer. *The French Toast was enjoyed by half of us and the other half felt it had too much citrus taste. *The dry rub wings were good the first time through the buffet and the second time they were too salty. Needs improvement: - The eggs Benedict weren't fully cooked (they still had white slim that we scrapped off), the English muffin wasn't toasted or browned, there was very limited Hollandaise on them. -The salad was too warm -The potatoes O'Brien were too greasy and looked burnt. Overall, we realize that you are still fairly new, so I hope this information is helpful as you move forward. We are very hopeful that with some tweaks, we will have a great brunch option in "the Grove" Based on their apparent dislike for customer feedback (I originally tried a more private venue to share my experience) and the two mediocre visits, I don't see this being part of our regular dining out rotation. read more

Food was pretty good, in general everyone in our party enjoyed some or all of their meal choice. The restaurant is beautiful- really mature and sleek looking. There were two serious downfalls: 1. The restaurant was freezing. Not just, "oh shoot i wish i brought a sweater" chilly but, for realzies freezing. 2. The service was horrible. We were there for brunch and there was hardly anyone else there, we saw plenty of other wait staff but rarely our waiter. Overall i feel neutral, i will have to go back to decide if i like it or not. read more

I came here on a Saturday night, with my friend who has been here a few times. She intelligently knew to call and reserve a booth which was so SMART! We strolled in and went straight to our booth. Everyone mean mugged us as we strolled to our booth, which we may have deserved because the final four game was on and the two of us squatted a booth that could fit 6. The booth seats are the only seating worth sitting at. Good for people watching and good visual of all TV screens, no matter how busy it is inside. The cheese curds are super good and the blueberry sauce they come with is perfection, not to mention creative. I've eaten my share of cheese curds and this sauce is original. I ordered the beef brisket but was told the batch was a flop and it wasn't an option. Probably a good save.. I ended up with the walleye. It was good, and I liked the tartar sauce. It had a dill flavor and worked well. The sides were a total disappointment. The coleslaw was so plain, no flavor. I was tempted to ask for mayo to mix in. This was after I asked the waitress if the coleslaw was soupy or special in any way. Her response was that she sells a lot of it. Well yeah, it's because it comes with everything but it ain't worth it. The asparagus was thick stalks and needed more cook time. They were still bitter. They have good beer options, I loved what I ordered and unfortunately I forget the name. Something blood orange... it's one of the best beers I've ever had and I should have remembered the name. I am a disappointment. I'll definitely go back for beer and cheese curds and maybe try more of the interesting appetizers. Not sure I'd go for a full meal again. While we people watched and drank nameless blood orange beers, we brainstormed a great business opportunity for this spot! We concluded that they could do a ladies night with half price beers and wines while airing a popular ladies show on their giant televisions. I'm not talking about the bachelor or some dumb show.. something farther along the progressive scale... The problem is this place is always busy, due to cottage grove not having any other restaurants in town. The food is average, and the prices are a tad high. My biggest problem is that we have a place to go watch games, but the TVs are always having issues. Went for the vikings game today and three of the tvs kept going in and out, at least the nachos were good. read more

I first came here when it first opened and the menu was very small and the food was mediocre at best. But after a year i decided to give it another try and it's still the same old Junction 70. The pizza tasted burnt and the cheese made me feel a bit sick after but the nachos were ok. I must say that the building is beautiful though. I love the industrial feeling it has. Over all i would only suggest coming here if you're just coming for a quick drink or two with some buddy's and maybe order a quick bite if you're feeling hungry. read more

We have been here numerous times over the past year. I have made an attempt to try something new almost every time we have gone. We have yet to have any food that is less than delicious. I have developed a go-to meal when going there and highly recommend it to anyone. The tipsy Texan sandwich is no less than phenomenal. The food, drinks and atmosphere is the best the city has to offer. Only set backs the place has is the fact that it's soooo popular there is often a wait. Can't hold it against them, just goes to show how good this place is! They occasionally have limited release foods and I tried one last year that was amazing. Unfortunately the next time we went to Junction 70 they no longer had it. It is so good that it's a travesty to not be on the menu all of the time. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and drinks! read more

Pulled pork had less flavor than homemade but I did enjoy the Carolina sauce. Mac and cheese was just OK also. The cracker barrel box is better. Pasta was a bit undercooked. Good draught beer selection- 3 ciders even! Nice cocktail menu, the old fashioned was great and the bloodys were highly recommended. I went there for the first time with some friends who go often. We got the early menu. They all had some version of steak and eggs, I had some amazing beef brisket hash. Think homemade hash browns with onions and peppers, topped with your choice of eggs (clearly over easy the only way to go) and topped with hollandaise! Yes, it was as amazing as it sounds! Stopped in here for dinner on a Friday night around 4pm. The bar area was pretty full but we were able to get seated right away. The waiter was friendly and attentive. I ordered the fish and chips and my boyfriend ordered the Swiss burger. He enjoyed his burger, but I thought the fish was just okay. Another server brought our food out to us, and as he set my plate on the table, the coleslaw fell off and onto my lap. He never bothered to provide a replacement coleslaw or any additional napkins to clean it up. It was a nice place to try, but we won't be back. read more

Updating my review...it seems the menu has gotten a little deeper, as they now have around a half-dozen of each burgers, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, pizzas, and dinners (pot pie, salmon, steak, etc.). I'd still love to see a few wraps on the menu, but they're making progress nonetheless. I ended up going with fish tacos off the appetizer menu, and must say they were hands-down the best fish tacos I've ever had. In fact, I wish they offered these fish tacos as part of their regular menu and would include some sort of side as well - I'd order this plate every time! Anyway, give Junction 70 a try; if nothing else, their beer menu is extensive, and you can never go wrong there! read more
