Eggs Benedict special
Shelley S.

Originally, I was planning on going to a different café stop serving breakfast at 11 and there at 11:15 so I stop at June's Café. So glad I did! Although they were busy, there was no wait and I was seated and served coffee immediately. I love him restaurants have specials so ordered the eggs Benedict and choice of potatoes. It really was one of the best I've had. The country fried potatoes were OK. The service was exceptional. I also ordered the green chili corn chowder and a cherry turnover to go. I would definitely recommend this place. Oh, prices were very reasonable!

Corn beef hash w/ egg. Fruit and biscuits and gravy.

The corn beef hash was okay. I asked for scrambled eggs with cheese only got scrambled egg. The fruit was frozen it was perfect for a smoothie. The biscuit and gravy did not mix well. The gravy did not have sausage. It tasted like flour. Unfortunately overall the food was cold and no flavor. I asked for a coke with my meal. The machine was not mixing the syrup with the CO2. We tried it 3 times on the third try I gave up. The customer service was excellent but the food was not there for me. The restaurant is small but its atmosphere was very pleasant and peaceful.

My wife and I stopped in there in Monday morning. We'd heard positive things about the place, and let me tell you... whoever said this place was good.... IT TELLING THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH! The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious! I had the Ultimate omelet w/o mushrooms! One of the best omelets I've ever had! If you're ever in the area, it's a MUST stop for great food!

Mountain man burger and chocolate shake

This place has great food and the most hospitable environment and service I've ever had. Top notch. Super accommodating to a big group of motorcycle riders on a trip. Milk shakes are one of the best you'll have. Does not disappoint !!

June's is a small diner open for breakfast and lunch with classic American fare: biscuits and gravy, eggs, burgers. My family and I dropped in for a late breakfast on our drive from Phoenix to Albuquerque. The clientele seemed like a mostly local crowd of retirees and maybe some of their grandkids. My family of three each had some egg-based meals. My wife had an egg and cheese sandwich. My daughter had the ham and egg burrito and I had the green chilli pork omelette. The food was cooked fine, but relatively un-spiced, mostly unsalted. This was true of the eggs, hash browns, etc. Maybe that is the style of the area to salt and pepper everything to taste, but for my daughter who ate the burrito, there were no district flavors. The two other small items was the waitress never came to refill our coffee, ie didn't really check on us after the meal was brought out. Also, they ran out of biscuits by 11:30. I make biscuits and it takes about 20 minutes to bake them, so to run out of a staple early in the day for an item that can be made quickly left us a little hanging. The restaurant was well decorated in American Pride items and was very homey.

Know that my wife and I are full time residents of Heber/Overgaard and have been for several years…read more We take our meals out on a fairly regular basis so sometimes there is a tendency to take our local eateries for granted, that being said we were pleasantly surprised when treating ourselves to a Father's Day brunch at our local Ponderosa Cafe to not only noticing that they were quite busy but they were featuring a special Holiday Menu. The first thing that caught my eye was a novel Steak and Egg dish that included a six oz. Sirloin steak with "loaded hash brown potatoes," that's hash browns with a load of onions, bell peppers, and cheese. This was a delicious side complete with two eggs my style and choice of toast. There was even more but I passed on the bacon, it was just too much. My wife opted for the all veggie omelet (which of course she couldn't finish) with all it fixings which we took home. One of the highlights of our service was the young waiter, Owen, who had been added to the staff recently. He was anxiously trying to be so helpful it was a joy to be one his first "customers." He of course getting help from is fellow staffers especially Debbie our favorite. In addition I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fullly appointed bakery available to us as we checked out. There is was with home baked brownies, pies, and coffee cake to tempt us as we left. I could go on and on but you get the picture. Treat yourself to the Ponderosa Cafe when in our town, you won't regret it!

Update 2 years later. We had pretty much the same…read moreexperience as two years ago. The front of house and service were very good. For the price we really expect better food quality and execution. I tried a Santa Fe breakfast burrito. It was large but mostly filled with potatoes. It was very hard to find any pulled pork inside. For the price I would expect more protein and some melted cheese on top or maybe a sauce...The cactus juice side is a good idea but it has too much lime juice in it. We like the idea of Gail's Sunrise Specials which were half portions. My wife ordered the Pork Green Chili over eggs and potato. The pork green chili was more like flavored gravy. It is pasty and gelatenous. There is very little meat and green chili. The people are friendly and the space is clean but the food is just not good enough to bring us in very often.
