This is a hidden gem!!! You exit the freeway and pass the Krispy Kreme and you'd never realize that this special cafe would be here. Easy to find, plenty of parking and the best coffee & pastries!!! What can I say about Junia that hasn't been said already? I could talk about how great the staff are, how welcoming the space is, which amazing drink to try, but it all comes down to experiencing it for yourself. As an early riser in the ever growing cafe scene of the South Bay, and Gardena specifically, Junia has positioned itself as a community staple in the short time period since its doors first opened. This space is welcoming and draws you in to take a seat, have a drink, enjoy the company of both the regulars and the people stumbling across this place because of social media alike. My usual drink choices are the following: Matcha Grey, Iced Hojicha Latte, Toasted Vanilla Latte, and the Milky Pear Oolong if I crave some tea. The drinks are all well made and come out fairly quickly. There are days I even order drinks twice! Junia is a great addition to the South Bay community and I am excited to see how this place continues to grow!

Beautiful cafe with large seating area. My husband and I ordered the matcha latte with oat milk and matcha grey. Matcha latte was light and milky. We prefer a double matcha but didn't see that on the menu. When I ordered the server was kind enough to explain to me that the matcha grey is a 9 oz cortada with earl grey cream top. This is so well balanced with deep matcha and earl grey flavor complimenting each other with perfect amount of sweetness. Highly recommend! Parking was hard to find on a Saturday morning but found a spot in the residential area.

I enjoyed Junia Cafe, it fits the bill for a trendy space for trendy people to enjoy trendy drinks. I walked into a space where everything is laid bare: the baristas will make your drink right in front of you, which is always appreciated. No tricks, no frills. I got the Matcha Gray, and I have some thoughts. The flavors were bold, and the matcha was great quality. The drink did come with a warning that it's small (on purpose). I should've known that a drink that comes with a disclaimer is not for people like me, a casual matcha drinker. I found the 75% ice, airplane in-flight drink-sized cup leaving me thinking I ordered the wrong thing. However, with what Junia does well, they blew me away. The latte art on the hojicha latte was clean. And the ham and cheese croissant! Came with mustard and gherkins, and that was something I never knew I desired until now. Junia Cafe was memorable, though I wish they gave something out to help me remember them, like a sticker, or even a cup sleeve. A welcome addition to Gardena.

When my sister here for a coffee date. Everyone inside was very welcoming and answered my questions since it was my first time ever going there. My sister had been there before so she knew exactly what she wanted. We placed our order and sat at the main table. There's a lot of space and a lot of areas to sit, which was really nice. We were able to talk and look through some books we had brought, I just really enjoyed this space Our coffees were amazing. I can't remember what my sister talked to me into having, but it was really strong, but not bitter. Very smooth. She did give me a taste of hers as well and I really enjoyed it. My sister had some questions about some of the artwork and pastries when we were leaving, and the staff was able to answer all her questions and we're very very friendly

Junia is super popular and for good reason. The cafe is amply spacious and lots of tables for people to meet and do work and/or study. It's definitely the nicest cafe in an already gentrifying area. It's nice to see. Junia is the quintessential manifestation of the 4th wave of coffee, and it's such a joy to experience. This isn't Starbucks so don't expect that kind of experience. The coffee is solid. The hojicha latte is extraordinary. I'll be coming back to try the other drinks, but it has been a very positive experience thus far. Parking can be a little tough as it's street parking, but usually you can park a few streets down in the residential area.

I love visiting Junia Cafe! Along with it being so close to home, all of the drinks i've tried so far are so good! My favorite drink has to be their seasonal Earl Grey Hot Chocolate (looking forward to the holidays just for this). My go to is their Matcha Latte and if i'm craving a coffee i'll get their Toasty Vanilla Latte. The staff are always kind and helpful. I love the ambiance of the cafe. It's a great place to work, study, or just hang out. They come out with seasonal drinks and i'm always looking forward to what unique drink they have next. Junia is such a great addition to the South Bay!

Such a cute new addition to Gardena! Junia Cafe is located on the ground floor of an apartment building. There is street parking available, but it can fill up, so you might have to park a little farther down the street. Love the vibes of this cafe! Friendly service, and it's so fun to watch your drinks being made! They offer a variety of coffee drinks, matcha and hojicha, and unique speciality drinks. We got the Matcha Grey (matcha oat cortado and earl grey cream) and a Yuzu Shiso Ade. Both were so yummy and very pretty! I'll definitely be back to try some more of their specialty drinks!

Here to report that the almost $7 Matcha Grey is (unfortunately) worth every penny :') I've come here twice, and both times I'm in shock at how well-made this drink is! The earl grey and matcha flavors go so well together, nothing overpowers the other in the best way possible. I get 50% sweetness, but may try 25% sweetness next time. Just note that this drink is really really small, but it's concentrated goodness in a cup! Parking isn't the easiest, but if you are willing to walk a little and park in the surrounding residential streets, you will not have a problem (at least during a Friday ~12pm)! Good service. I find that the tables are usually taken so it may be hard to find a spot to do work here!

I had a great experience at this café in Gardena! From a spacious interior to delicious drinks, this is café worth checking out. I had two drinks for my first visit: - Matcha Grey: Delicious and creamy with good matcha and earl grey flavor. Love that they make this with oat milk as a default. One of the smallest matcha drinks I've ever had, so it's good to pair with an additional drink. - Golden Orange Latte: Loved the flavor of this one which married the espresso, orange, and cinnamon flavors well. Kinda choked a bit on the flower garnishes, but at least it was pretty haha. Pastries seem to be sourced from a separate bakery and are on the pricier side. The interior is clean, spacious, and optimal for working/studying at. There are outlets, wifi, and a good amount of seating and tables. There is also a bathroom as well. For parking, it's street/neighborhood parking which is free I believe. I would definitely recommend and come back here!

I ordered the earl grey matcha cortado. The size is small because it is a cortado but the flavor is delicious. I ordered a regular butter croissant which was big, very buttery, and super flaky. I'm not sure if they make their baked goods in house but they are yummy regardless. They have wifi which is awesome if you're someone trying to get some work done. They have a few parking spots out front but when I showed up 40 minutes after opening none were available. There is plenty of street parking in the area regardless. Service was good, and they call you over to get your order when it's ready. Food: 5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5

Finally got to try this café I've been wanting to visit after seeing them all over social media. We drove over 30 minutes and made it just in time before closing. Our barista, Lee, made the experience completely worth the drive. He was incredibly kind, took our order himself, and even made the drinks. What stood out most was how welcoming and excited he still was for us to try everything, even near closing time. It's honestly refreshing to come across baristas who are both informative and genuinely passionate about what they do. We tried the Earl Grey Matcha and the Dark Cherry Hojicha Tonic. Both were rich, flavorful, and really well balanced. Definitely recommend checking this café out.

Ambiance: it's a trendy coffee shop located on the ground level of an apartment building, limited street parking in front, despite there's a parking garage in the rear attached to the establishment, but it's not for public, so it's fairly tedious to look for street parking in the neighborhood. Wow, when I tell you the Matcha was so delicious that I came back the next day! The attentive, quick, and kind customer service by the Barista's, along with the ample amount of seating with tons of natural light (+great music) made my first impression super positive. We tried their new drink "Milky Pear" and also a matcha cortado - which featured earl grey tea sprinkled on top... Both were excellent - with the milky pear drink being especially light and refreshing. Perfect level of sweetness for me - since I don't like sugary drinks. I had high hopes for this place because it looked really cool and the menu seemed promising, but I was disappointed. I went on a Tuesday morning and it was packed. I ordered the Matcha Grey and my husband got a vanilla latte. The space itself is nice, very minimal, concrete, and industrial, but the wait for our drinks was about 15-20 minutes. The Matcha Grey tasted good and was definitely unique, but it was like a kids' drink. It was tiny and mostly filled with ice, and I don't think it's worth the $6. Especially when there are so many other great drink options nearby like Yeems, Bada Coffee, Nook, First Flight, which definitely offer better value. It seems really busy right now because of the hype, but I'm not sure it will last with the current prices and portion sizes. I don't think I'd go back. read more

The Eastside comes to Gardena. This feels like a Silverlake coffee shop, minus all the insufferable artsy crowds. Space is one of the larger coffee shops I've been to in the South Bay. Me and my partner had such a great time visiting! new coffee shop trending on tik tok, decided to stop by and give it a try. second visit today! staff is very polite and service was quick. matcha latte has the signature matcha taste; you can tell they whisk everything by hand and it has a strong punch to the palette - very enjoyable. I've tried the matcha grey as well (they do mention the size of the drink so I was well aware of what I was buying!) very good as well but more of a one time purchase for me ; I'll stick to the regular size lattes. there is parking available but went an hour before closing so a lot of the spots were taken.. may need to park on a side street! there were a lot of people studying and the space is HUGE. a good place to catch up with friends and do work. WiFi is available too. I will be back whenever I'm in the area ~ read more

Matcha is good. Had the earl grey matcha. Very good. Been on a matcha fix, normally I don't drink matcha. I need to try hot coffee next time. I did have Cortado with almond milk but I tend to like a bigger cup. Very relaxed atmosphere. Friendly too, had questions about the menu. Pastries are very good. From the pleasing aesthetic to the friendly faces of the staff, I felt instantly happy walking into this place. Clean, minimal design really gave this place a modern feel. We tried their matcha latte and the matcha grey! I really really want a latte version of the matcha grey so I can have more of it!! It was so delicious. Rich, bold, and well-balanced. Such a tasty treat but gone with a blink of an eye. The matcha latte was strong and bold too. We had it with whole milk but the matcha stood up well to it. I got the Iced Matcha Latte with Oat milk. They told me that they add just a bit of sweetener and i would say that's pretty accurate cuz it was a lot less sweeter compared to a lot of other places. Although im not the biggest fan of that, I'm definitely interested in trying it again with a bit more sweetener. Service was fast and friendly and the space is really nice. Even though i didn't stay for long, it seems very spacious compared to other coffee shops where it feels like people are breathing over your neck sometimes. read more

really well done. excellent service and hospitality. high quality, tasteful selection of coffee: some i hadn't heard of and some from hydrangea coffee roasters in berkeley -- who roast some of my favorite beans. i had a pour over which was perfectly extracted and my girlfriend had the matcha grey -- she said it was the best matcha drink she's had in a long time. everything in the shop is really well curated; from the drinkware to the paintings on the wall. great taste in music here too -- and at just the right volume. i will most likely steal some elements of this shop when i open my own in the future. also one of the workers was wearing a the postal service tee so extra points from me. read more

I have had the pleasure of visiting many specialty coffee shops across the IE, OC, and LA. Over time, I have realized that the two things that make certain shops more memorable are the consistency and quality of the drinks, and the atmosphere created by the space and staff. Junia is one of those shops that excels at both. The pour-over and espresso were fantastic, the staff were friendly, and the space is open and inviting. I got the golden orange latte and earl grey matcha. Hands down the best tasting coffee and matcha I've had in LA. The golden orange latte had that tangy kick which paired very well with the latte. The matcha was insanely smooth and the creaminess of the earl grey is amazing! The space itself is excellent for socializing and/or studying, and the atmosphere is overall very welcoming. The owners and employees were also so so kind and friendly. S-tier find! read more

Both drinks were interesting and drinkable, but neither left a lasting impression. The flavors were unique and inspired by Filipino desserts, which I appreciated, but I found them more "good" than "great." I also ordered the Nutella Croissant, which was enjoyable but nothing particularly memorable. One thing that stood out was the pricing. Parking was easy, and when we walked in, there was only one occupied table. Three employees were chatting in the back. We were greeted, but it felt more like, "What would you like?" than "Welcome in." No smile, no conversation, no thank you--just a transaction. After taking our order, the employee returned to chatting with coworkers. When our order was ready, our name was called, the halo-halo was placed on the counter, and that was the end of the interaction. As for the halo-halo itself, my partner rated it a 2/10. It was overwhelmingly sweet and overpriced for what we received. We were hoping for layers of flavor and nostalgia but got a sugar rush that could probably power a small city. As a business owner myself, I understand that customer service is one of the biggest drivers of customer retention. Great products can bring people in once, but great service brings them back. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark on both. The good news? These issues are fixable. A little more warmth, engagement, and hospitality would go a long way. Until then, we'll continue our search for our next favorite halo-halo spot.

There's screens to order as well so maybe he was not expecting the human interaction. Either way it threw me off unfortunately. I'd have to wait a while to see if I wanna come back and try something different. There's too many coffee and milk tea shops that come to my mind first to visit instead.

I ate the skin too and it tasted great. The main part of this place is the soba. The kikouchi soba are thicker 100% buckwheat noodles that were very well cooked and pleasant to eat. The Plum "Ume" broth was so refreshing and nice. I ate it cold; I probably would have preferred it hot but the is just a personal preference. The Ginger Pork was great. The pork itself was super gingery without being too pungent. The shredded cabbage was super easy to pick up and eat and the side of noodle salad and miso soup were great complements to the meal. I can tell no corners were cut anywhere and that Otafuku puts a little of effort into every meal they prepare. There is great care for all of the preparations and it was a very special meal. Exciting to have cool trendy cafes and eats coming into the neighborhood. So of course had to check out Junia Cafe. The vibe is industrial and cool. First time got the matcha grey. Unique and tasty. Matcha taste was good. Second time I ordered the toasted vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso. This drink was very disappointing. Didn't taste anything like vanilla. And even with the extra shot of espresso it was still very milky. I understand it was their soft opening so I hope that next time I visit the drinks will be more refined. read more

Got a chance to try Junia when they first open. Got the Matcha Latte with Oat it's 8.5/10. I thought the matcha was good but not too strong. And the Vanilla Latte, it's 8/10, it's a good regular vanilla latte but nothing much stand out. Overall, they have really solid drinks. Looking forward to comeback again. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to Junia Café. The first thing I noticed was how spacious the layout is, which makes for a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The staff members are genuinely friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the coffee was top-notch. I highly recommend their Earl Grey Matcha! read more

Simple, but full. Innovative, but not pretentious. Had the chance to try their drip coffee, matcha grey, and yuzu shiso. Each drink was rich in flavor and clean in taste. They greet each customer with the same care and effort, even on a very busy day. I'll be back! read more
