Ordered an Americano, black... they brought it to my table and if they were trying to serve extremely bitter coffee, mission accomplished. I expect an Americano to be slightly bold but approachable. The espresso used was either old or burnt. Probably fine if you add a bunch or cream and sugar or flavorings. I just had to check out Junia Café after seeing the Matcha Grey. As an avid matcha drinker who loves floral teas, this drink was calling to me! I really enjoyed the richness of the matcha and the aroma of the earl grey cream top. I thought that the addition of earl tea tea bits was a nice touch. I also appreciated how there was oat milk in it so it wasn't an extra charge. While I do wish that it came in a bigger cup size, I understand the intent. Im not sure if they have free WiFi or not but because the walls are cement it is a bit on the louder side. I ordered the earl gray matcha cortado and an orange latte. Earl grey matcha was incredible! I loved how the earl grey flavor came through and the matcha was super rich and flavorful. It was the perfect sweetness but just sad that it was so small. They seem to have lots of artisanal coffees for sale but mostly for pour overs. The orange latte was not my favorite flavor wise and there was some orange pulp inside the drink but I could tell the coffee was good. The inside of the coffee shop is very bright and there are lots of tables and outlets along the walls which is good for studying or getting work done. The people who work there are also very kind. I love that they opened in South Bay, not a lot of good matcha and coffee spots compared to Ktown. This cafe is so cute with a good amount of seating. The workers are so welcoming and friendly. We came on Thanksgiving and 20% of proceeds get donated to volunteers of South Bay, what a good cause. The lattes are growing on me! Wasn't anything spectacular compared to other spots in Los Angeles. The prices are also around 20% too expensive, if you know where to look, you can definitely find cheaper for just as good if not better. It is really good quality, their matcha was a 3/10 for me. Just not the best I've had and the cream top was kind of nauseating. It's a pro that they do house made syrups (At this point no place should be using store bought) A friend told me they charge extra for 1/2 caff, (1 decaf, 1 caff shot). That is not something I've experienced anywhere else. It's worth noting that Yeems does not do that, nor charge for any changes. I think there is an enormous difference between $7 and $8. $8 just feels really obscene. The ambiance is amazing though and the staff is really kind, appreciate that they're not condescending. For that I wish I could give it a 3.8? Price for me is a just a huge factor in lattes nowadays. If it's not a big deal to you, it's a really good, reliable, and not watery place for your drinks. Noteworthy that parking is really difficult, but they do have a bathroom. I'd come here again! Just not everyday for sure. Be mindful that you have to put your cups/plate away in these 2 black bins (it's on a cart). The rest room is located in the garage area.
