I can't say enough great things about Avondale Auto Repair, Nathan, Rick and their staff…read more As a first-time customer, I came in with what I thought was a simple issue--my 2017 Toyota RAV4 key fob suddenly stopped working. I'd replaced the battery before, so I tried that again... nothing. My (very mechanically inclined) husband tried too--still nothing. That kicked off the search for a replacement, and wow--what a frustrating experience. The dealership quoted me $600 to replace and program a new key. Automotive locksmiths were all over the place--$180, $250--and the whole process felt vague and transactional, like you couldn't get a straight answer without jumping through hoops. Then I found Avondale Auto Repair through the Costco Auto Program--and everything changed. Rick answered the phone, and within seconds I felt reassured. He was straightforward, knowledgeable, and refreshingly honest. Instead of trying to sell me something, he explained the pros and cons--how aftermarket keys often don't last, and how they source directly from the dealer but can usually save customers about $100. No pressure. Just real, helpful information. When I came in, that same feeling continued. The shop itself is clean, bright, and welcoming--nothing like the typical auto repair environment. Nathan (Rick's brother-in-law) was at the front desk and immediately made us feel comfortable. Friendly, genuine, and incredibly helpful. Before recommending anything, he opened up my key and inspected it to confirm it wasn't just a battery issue. That alone told me everything--I wasn't being upsold. They were actually trying to help. Then Rick came back from lunch and did the same thing again, just to double check. I paid a deposit and they said they'd call once they got the key from the dealership. It took a few days. Even though they were short-staffed they week of my FOB order, Nathan handled everything with professionalism and kindness. He called three different dealerships to track down my key (since it was out of stock everywhere), coordinated the order, and made the whole process seamless. When I came back to drop off my car, even the staff helping me park were warm and courteous--it's those small touches that really stand out. We used to have a go-to repair shop nearby, but after a change in ownership, it just hasn't been the same. Now, we've found our new place. Avondale Auto Repair didn't just fix a problem--they earned our trust. And that's everything. That's how you do it, Nathan and Rick!

Washed the princess when they were done Much appreciated fellas.

I provided them with the information requested and was sent a text with the estimate. I then asked about the Costco 15% voucher and a time to bring the car in for repair. Their responds was I needed to bring the car in to the shop for a physical inspection to provide an accurate estimate. I brought the car to you on Friday May 14, 2026 asking for the estimate on the trailing arms and inquired about the dash board lights. They asked for 2 hours of time to prepare this. I received the estimate for the repairs along with an inspection report and quotes for 17 other "issues", I did not request an inspection of any kind. When I return to retrieve the car and finalize the repairs I ask a couple of question, first will they honor the Costco voucher and timing to have the repairs completed. Here are my challenges with the transaction, I had temporary access to these estimates and was locked out once I paid the fee of $81.00 ($77.,25 actual debit transition), your website states a free estimate but you charged me and then restricted my access. The garage has a deal with Costco to take 15% off the total bill but when asked I was told you would take 10% on part and 15% on labor. The texted estimate was $1610.00 prior to me asking about the Costco discount and the realtime estimate was $1750 as I recalling only being able to view it prior to lockout. Most concerning was your raid silent when I called to follow up on Saturday as requested by you, I called around 8:30 AM , followed up with a text at around 11 AM and another at 2:15 PM and as on this email there has been no response. The work has been completed by another garage and its is worth pointing out in this review it was completed at a cost of 1/2 what Logan Square Garage was going to charge me. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST, it is a money grab.

They immediately starting working on my car and discovered it needed a new starter. Problem was, they had a tough time finding the right part for my car. Long story short, they had to go make multiple trips to get the right part AND gave me a discount on it because it was more expensive than they originally quoted. My car now starts without any problems and the service is backed up by a warranty. Beyond that, Mike and the guys at Chicago A+ made my day a lot less stressful by generally being awesome and giving me great service. I definitely recommend Chicago A+ and plan on taking my car back for future service.

I've spent over $1800 here. i came to get my evap system fixed and left with more problems than I came with. if you want a year consumed of frequent visits and check engine Lights coming on make sure to stop in. my evap system and now many other problems they've caused are ongoing and all I'm left with is $1800+ gone. Dropped my car off two days ago to pick it up today with Jim saying the problem is solved only to pick it up and drive home and the light come right back on with the same problems(mind you he tried to make me pay $400 to reanalyze their own work and tighten up lose parts). They're great at turning off check engine lights I'll say that much. Such a waste of time and energy. I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau. Expect to be hearing from them thanks - Luis
