Blackened Salmon and bang bang shrimp
Virginie L.

Found out about this place from a friend, otherwise don't think I would ever stumble across it. Real Mom and Pop restaurant with a small hometown feel. You have to place your order at the counter, get a number and they bring the food over to your table. Great customer service! What we ate: Blackened Basa (white fish) and crab cakes with sweet potato fries and fried Okra. The fish was delicious flaky and the right amount of spicy, the fries were great also. First time having fried okra, taste like fried okra nothing special about it. Crab cakes was very good, a little more filler than I like but way less than I expected and very flavorful. Blackened Salmon was also very good and cooked to perfection not too dry. Bang Bang Shrimp was good, wasn't enough bang for me but it was good. Definitely recommend you check it out if in the area and everything was reasonably priced.

Um no.

Very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. We like the appearance from the outside and looked over the menu on the web. We thought we were prepared, not at all. I was unaware that we ordered and sat down. So when I got to the counter, I drew a blank. After looking again, we ordered successfully. We started with the fried veggie sampler. Amazing, fresh and tons of it. I got the ocean pasta with scallops. There was so much seafood! It was endless. The pasta also came with garlic bread and a side (I chose rice pilaf). My husband got the ribeye. It was thin but tender and cooked perfectly. He loved his fries and onion rings. Our son got the sweet Pete's Honey Chicken sandwich. He like the sauce and toppings. He also commented about how good the fries were. Overall a great choice when passing through town. Really great food and the employees were wonderful. Now the bad....unfortunately. The men's restroom was a disaster (see picture). We wanted so bad to unsee the issue but it was impossible. A second trip will be necessary the next time we pass through. I'd love to try again because there were so many things on the menu I'm excited to try.

Catfish and Shrimp

I needed a meeting spot in the area to have dinner with a friend. We agreed on Junior's. The food was very good. The fried catfish and fried shrimp combo had a light and crispy coating with just the right amount of seasoning. Before I tasted the catfish, I had planned to sprinkle on some hot sauce like I usually do whenever I eat catfish. But after the first mouth-watering bite, I realized that this catfish already tasted so good that it didn't need any extra seasoning. And the succulent tail-on shrimp were sweet and tender. The hush puppies were delicious, with just a hint of sweetness. The service was interesting. When you first enter the restaurant, you go to the cashier to order prior to taking a seat at one of the many tables or booths located in the restaurant. The cashier gives you a number to put on your table and then they will bring you the food as soon as it is ready. The decor was basic, but the food more than made up for it. I can't wait to go back for more. Next time, I will bring my wife.

Super great local restaurant for seafood. Nuce portions and food was fresh.

Great food and great service. The stuffed flounder was really good and the side salad was huge. Oh, and great hush puppies.

We were told by a "local" this was not a good place to eat. I am glad we ignored their "advice." We were greeted upon entering and given menus. We sat down and made our decisions, then went to the counter and ordered. We ordered Cajun Calamarie for appetizer, Fried catfish, shrimp, gator tail , oysters, fried green tomatoes, green beans and fries. (hushpuppies come with the meal) Wow, what a spread of food. The portions were huge, arrived hot and tasted delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. If you ever happen to be in the area, don't pass up this restaurant. A staff member stopped by our table a couple times to see if we needed anything else.

In the front very welcoming!

When arriving at the restaurant, we were told that the food wasnt ready and that the message we got was automated. We waited for 45 mins. At one point, the manager stopped to ask what the names were, we told him, he went to the kitchen to find an eta, but returned to say they were working on it. 20 mins later, the when asked the waitress huffed and said the only 2 she had ready were for someone else, but was the orderwe were waiting on. So, the two food orders sat for 45 mins and no one verified the names of the two individuals waiting. Unfortunately, it didnt stop there. When we got food home the burger that was supposed to be medium well was barely cooked, cold in the middle, falling apart and the bun was soggy. In the end a 18$ meal went in the trash because it looked like bacteria sandwich. On top of that, we were missing an item. Over all, a 75$ meal was a waste. Disappointed doesnt begin to cover how gross this experience was.

With seating at the bar we were served right away by a pleasant women who worked with us our entire stay. We started with the fish dip which was very good. A bit more cream cheese than I normally like but was still very good. Also had the Crab Savannah soup which is like a tomato based she crab soup, excellent!! For our entrees my wife had the Poke' Bowl with seared tuna. Asked for medium rare but got more to a medium color (gray) but the veggies that it came with were fresh, flavorful & crisp! For my self I had the oyster poor boy which was huge! Plenty of oysters and cooked just right. The remoulade sauce had a nice flavor and the veggies also were fresh & crisp. The ambience is more like a warehouse feel but I'm ok with that kind of atmosphere. In talking with our server Sunday's is there busiest day. So, if coming on a Sunday get there early or pack some patience as the food was very good & worth the trip. Thank you for a nice time! We'll be back!!

On my first visit (a Wednesday), I waited over an hour just to be seated....only to find out they were completely out of oysters for the week. That was frustrating, especially after such a long wait. I decided to give them another shot this past Wednesday, hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately, it didn't improve. This time, I was told that oysters can no longer be prepared a certain way because it's considered a "special order." Instead, you're limited to however they choose to serve them.....either raw or lightly steamed. For a seafood spot, that's a bit surprising. Most people have a preference when it comes to oysters, and being told you can't customize your order feels restrictive. After speaking with the manager, she did agree to accommodate my request this one time (for one or two dozen), but also made it clear that moving forward, it wouldn't be allowed. That response didn't sit well with me....it gave the impression that customer preferences aren't really a priority. Between the long wait times, limited availability, and lack of flexibility with orders, I left feeling unpleased and unsatisfied. At this point, I'm not sure if I'll be returning.

Parking will cost you (think it was $8 for 3 hours) but there's plenty of parking options. The restaurant sits on the corner and faces towards the beach (although you can't see the beach). The oysters were good, but shall we than I expected. I opted for their snapper special: pan seared over jasmine rice with string green beans and a nice sauce underneath. It came out looking like a 5 star meal and tasted as such. One of the best red snapper entrees I've had!. It's hard not to give 5 stars when the fish is this amazing! Unfortunately, I'm not in the area that much, and only once did I make the journey just to come here. What is the draw, you may ask? Great beer, great food, great atmosphere, great vibes! , That said, every meal I have had here has been delicious. The beer is pretty darn good & cold too! Of course, with the long drive...ya gotta limit it. But it's worth it for anything on the menu. I don't know where to start food-wise, I am trying to eat my way around the menu. The gator tail and fish dip are two of my favorites for small bites/appetizers. The Elk burger, the Taphouse burger, and the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich are always amazing....and then there's the cole slaw...yummy! Delicious food, and they have more than just sandwiches. The menu offers a little something different. The atmosphere and vibe are always inviting, and the staff is super friendly. The prices are fair, portions are ample, and there is plenty of parking. The decor is fun too! Not to mention, they give a veteran discount with proof of ID. What more can you ask for? Well, I know what I can ask for! To the owners: pretty please, with sugar on top, consider opening a location in St. Augustine. Not in the downtown area, but the folks north of town need something; they need you! Around the Palencia & Kensington area, off US 1 to be exact...or anywhere nearby in that area. The folks there would love something they can walk to, ride bikes to, maybe even use a golf cart to get to...and yes, a short drive is good too. Jus' sayin'! Please just check it out...I said pretty please!

When having my boyfriend and his momma pick me up after a work trip to have a weekend to visit…read morethem, they suggested this location for lunch before we made the drive back to Eustis where she lives. They had mentioned seeing some good Yelp reviews, and the menu looked intriguing. I had already had breakfast at a great locally owned place, so my appetite was smaller. What We Ordered: - Oyster Po Boy: my boyfriend and his momma split this, and they both said it was okay though they HATED the gumbo. Very unfortunate as when splitting they had to pay for an additional portion of it. - Blackened Mahi Sandwich: this was recommended by our waitress who started out fantastic, but ultimately disappeared after food delivered so I went without a drink for quite some time. I did eat enough a portion of mine before running out of coke, so I had to pause eating as I need a liquid as I eat. I had split this with my boyfriend, so he enjoyed his fully warm. Mine was good for those first few bites, and really enjoyed the fries. They remind me of the filmstrip fries you can get in Disney's California Adventure. - Coke + Lime: if the machine is calibrated, this is always a win for me! It definitely made a travel day better. Sadly, between the waitress being inattentive after the food was delivered and there being quite the unsavory show being played, this was a miss for me. Who plays Steve Wilkos in a restaurant? It's the modern day Jerry Springer show. I just find that baffling to be quite honest, though we did get a chuckle at it while I waiting desperately for a refill so I could eat the remaining portion of my meal.
