My wife got out of the car and was at the door inside that window. They wouldn't let her in without me, and I was still parking. I walked in 11 minutes after the start -- one minute past their cutoff. There were maybe four to six people in the room. I explained the family situation involving my son. I told them it was our anniversary. My wife was distraught, and I pleaded with them and tried to reason with them. They turned us away anyway. We weren't asking anyone to slow the class down or stay late -- we would have caught up on our own. My wife left humiliated on the day she had planned as a gift. I get it -- you have to run a business, and you have to start on time. But she was there inside the window you gave us and you wouldn't seat her. It came down to one minute and two people standing in front of you, and you chose the minute. The class started without us. So did the last impression I'll have of this place.

We took the one-time pottery class and it's nearly impossible to get ahold of them. After your class you're supposed to get an email a few weeks later to schedule glazing. I never got the email, had to reach out twice to get any contact. Then after glazing you're supposed to get another email to pick up your pieces. Guess what, I never got it and had to reach out again. Overall it took us over 3 months from the first class to get our pieces. It's a great concept and fun but would not recommend this business to anyone.

That's her choice job now, I guess. So then my 4 year old son is helping put the items in the one bag and the box of crayons bottom falls out. "oh, looks like one of them broke" is all white haired lady says. Not a "let me get you a new box," or any help picking them up, or even a light hearted joke. Why is this lady here except to create an environment for suffering and be the arbiter of it? It would have been a much better experience if she were gone. Michael's does not pay me to do self check out but if I have to do it, I'd prefer there not to be a cold, silent matron making you feel like you're doing something wrong and having you pay for a bag you didn't ask for. Andrea was super helpful and patient in answering all the questions I had as a complete newbie and recommending necessary supplies. There was no upselling or hints that I'd be better off buying the premium sets as a beginner, which I appreciated. She actually recommended a much more affordable beginning basics set when I told her I was new to all this. I felt free to browse around all the beautiful supplies and ended up buying everything I needed to get started. Wow haven't been here for an awful long time. I entered into a nice clean store and asked a very helpful lady of the department where I could find materials that are Styrofoam and paints and glitter glue... she walked me over and I found the specific items on my list. Nice store and I kind of meandered on the way back to the front checkout counter. A young lady helped with the transaction but I needed a Michaels bag.. a paper shopping bag makes it easy to carry. She explained the return policy. I went home happy. Today I went back to Michael's to return some of the unused material and got good value credited back to the CC. It was quick and easy. I liked the store with its valuable return policy. Thanks to the staff at Michael's we now have a completed school project.

I feel their price point is pretty reasonable, and their selection is great considering the size of the store. Staff is nice and seems helpful. Overall, cute Japanese stationery store to visit for all your stationery needs whether you're a seasoned artist or beginner. They have everything for everyone. Workers were kind and explained everything. Very quick to refill any paints. Did wish there were a little more organized for the extras but I figured it was just people were actively using the items. We had about an hour to paint since they closed at 7 and we definitely felt like we were rushing. I'd recommend having at least 1.5hrs to paint depending on how intricate you want to go. Already planning our return to try new techniques and designs!
