I LOVE Just Fur Paws. I've been taking my furbabies there for at least 7 years (dogs and a cat). I didn't realize I had given them 4 stars before and I am thrilled to be able to revise that to the 5 stars they deserve! When my previous dog got old, he developed bad arthritis and "doggie vertigo," and would not tolerate his head being touched. We stopped being able to pick him up because he would squeal and snap. I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to take him to get baths anymore, but the groomers at Just Fur Paws were incredible. They went above & beyond to accommodate him. What prompted this new review is my most recent experience, with a new dog I adopted just a month ago. He's the sweetest lovebug but reactive to new people and dogs. I almost cancelled the appointment because I was so sure he'd be turned away. He was barking and lunging at people in the parking lot, and at 45lbs, it can look at sound scary. When we walked through the door, he barked at Kelly, and I let her know that I would 100% understand if they couldn't groom him due to his reactivity. Instead, she sat on the ground with him and turned away slightly to avoid making eye contact, which calmed him down. While asking me about his history, she tossed him some treats and very quickly, he became friendly with her. He ended up doing extremely well! Kelly shared her insights on that, which was really helpful, and also answered my questions about how often he should get a bath considering he has sensitive skin but also gets stinky pretty quickly. Kelly isn't the one who groomed him (I didn't catch the groomer's name) but in my experience, ALL the groomers there are incredible. I have to shout-out Kelly though because she really went above & beyond. She took the time to talk to me, answer my questions, address my concerns, and slowly meet my dog, and she never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. The groomers at Just Fur Paws aren't just good at grooming- they really know a LOT about dogs and cats. They can provide helpful insights and recommendations, and they are able to accommodate pets with all sorts of personalities. The wait times seem to have decreased as well, in my opinion. It's a little pricey but 100% worth it to know my dog is being loved and taken care of. I truly believe that the groomers at Just Fur Paws don't just consider this a job they "have" to do...they genuinely love animals and put love and care into their work. Oh, and the work they do is great as well!!! I've always been happy with the results. My dog showed up stinky and dirty, and he came back to me silky soft, smelling great, and happy! Been bringing my car Zoey there for years because my cat doesn't let just let anyone groom her- very fussy girl that she is! However she knows and won't settle for anyone less than the best at Just for Paws They do an awesome job on bathing and trimming her nails and when I ask them to shave her for a lion cut - mostly in summer - she looks beautiful. From the start, they we're very professional and set all expectations. Text updates were very helpful. Took my Persian cat in for a hair cut as she tends to get matted if not brushed daily. I also asked if they could apply nail caps, which are great for protecting the furniture. They were fast and efficient. Took my Ragdoll cat yesterday for a brushing, nail clip, paw trim and sani-shave. They did a fabulous job! We have always been so happy going this groomer and Saya is so sweet and knows my two dogs so well. We have our grooms scheduled out for both dogs for the rest of the year which is so wonderful for planning. Both of my dogs (a mini poodle mix with super curly hair and a full size goldendoodle with wavy hair) are happy to come here and excited to see the groomers. Our little one is almost 8 and tends to get some matting with her curly hair and itchy ears all of which they take care of for us here very well. Our larger dog is 4 and she is well behaved but an energetic dog. They handle her so well here and are nothing but patient and complimentary. My dogs do not hesitate to go back with them in the grooming room which is such a good sign to me and they always come home happy and just as content as when I left them. Prices are consistent if not better than other groomers we have tried in the area including both in store and mobile. Changes to the appointments are no worries. I haven't been to JFP for about a year. My dog Brandy suffers with seasonal allergies and has had numerous issues for awhile so I bathed her at home.
