swung by on a thursday late morning. super friendly staff - that's where the one star is dedicated to. iced vanilla latte - standard. nothing crazy good. breakfast sandwich - straight up awful. ordered the english muffin - turned out to be wheat, not my favorite. looked like a kraft cheese slice which had melted inside the bag, so very little on the sandwich itself. i had ordered it with sausage - there were literally 10 (at most) little, chopped up chunks of very processed sausage-like meat on the sandwich. i ended up throwing most of it away. free wifi. one restroom. has a drive thru. offers smoothies. large indoor area. some outdoor tables. read more

Before I start, let me just say that I'm a little bit of a coffee shop snob. This had all of the minimums of what I would expect for a coffee shop, but that is really it. There was only one type of roast brewed, a dark Colombian roast. I'm not a dark roast fan, but got a cup and it was good. If you're a dark roast fan I'm sure you would have loved it. The breakfast sandwiches were decent, but nothing more. I saw a grocery cart with Ralph's bakery items and such being pushed in. I liked the atmosphere though- very eclectic. I wouldn't mind returning here, but probably wouldn't. I'd prefer to make my own light or medium roast coffee and breakfast sandwich at home since the food is all grocery store purchases anyway. read more

While in town I decided to stop by here for breakfast, the coffee store was easy to find and conveniently close to our hotel. I ordered a white chocolate mocha hot and a regular cofee, a vegetable bagel, a turkey bagel and 2 muffins. The sandwiches come with a side and I got fruit for both sides. Everything was really good, I'm only giving it 4 stars because the lady who appeared to be the manager came off a little bit rude. read more

Are empanadas supposed to be cold? After waiting patiently for my to-go order, I picked it up and got on the road for our trip. Several blocks later, I opened the package to find that the empanadas were fresh from the refrigerator and cold, barely edible. We were already off, so there was nothing I could do about it. This is where I go for Cappuccino when I am visiting. They make it just right. A small cup. 50/50 espresso to milk ratio and a nice foam topping. They keep the proper china cups hot on the top of the machine so the Capuccino stays hot just like it should. After having so many disasters handed to me as a Cappuccino this place was a relief. I thought I would never get a real one in Southern California. Don't people know that 12 ounces of milk with a shot of espresso is not a Cappuccino? I never had that problem in San Francisco, Paris or Rome! Anyway Just Java is a bit funky which is a surprise as it is in a strip mall. The staff will probably be sporting black hair, black tee shirts and some tats and studs. But hey they look cool and they know their coffee. read more

I am honestly baffled at how this place has 4.5 stars here - it's terrible! I got a breakfast sandwich and I only managed to choke down a quarter of it, and I generally NEVER waste food. The bagel was awful and tasted weirdly soapy, like baking soda. The egg was like... less than a full egg, somehow, and was barely detectable in the sandwich. I asked for bacon and they gave me both bacon and ham, which was weird, though I just removed the ham so that wasn't a big deal. The iced americano was maybe the worst tasting coffee I've ever had - I always drink it black but it tasted like burnt cleaning products or something. And to top it off, they are NOT even remotely following proper coronavirus safety precautions - I saw them serve at least 3 people without a mask on in the 10 minutes while I waited for my food, and there was also a completely unmasked woman who didn't appear to be working but walked straight into the kitchen a couple of times! I would have been better off throwing my money directly into the trash - at least then I wouldn't have wasted my time or risked virus exposure. Avoid this place like the plague! read more

In town for a week. Came here 3 times. Coffee done right- Every time. Be sure to try their traditional cappuccino. The baristas appreciate their beans and care about a great coffee experience for their customers. Their decaf espresso tastes good which is an accomplishment on its own. I went in there to have a breakfast bagel and it SUCKED. The bagel was cold the eggs pre-cooked and the cheese non-existent. I don't know if that's protocol or if it was just the girl behind the counter but I was not impressed. I give them 3 stars only because the fruit next to the bagel was fresh and delicious and because when I went back for a side of cream cheese to just eat the plain bagel with she gave it to me for free. Didn't get a drink but they looked cheaper than starbucks. read more

Love this place! Great service, friendly service, wonderful food. My husband love the bacon egg croissant sandwich. The coffees are wonderful and so are the pastries. Been coming here for many years. Last couple of times I told myself I would not go back but I like to support local businesses. Well today just topped it off. I will not return to this place ever again. Service is terrible. I ordered a doppio espresso for my protein shake.... They up charged me an extra $1.00 just because I wanted large cup with extra ice. We stopped here on our way to Coachella and Joshua Tree National Park. This coffee shop had excellent service and a warming nature. The coffee was well roasted and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised they had milk substitutes of almond milk and coconut milk! So, I definitely added a hint of coconut milk for that healthy fat! I also tried their Blueberry Blast! D E L I C I O U S ! ! It was gently refreshing and added needed energy for the ahead music festival and some adventure rock climbing. I will be coming back! read more

We go to Just Java every time we are in the desert to get empanadas. Love this place. I've seen other reviews about the rude service but I really don't care if someone is all polite and glowing while serving me I just want my empanada and it is awesome. That said, the owner's husband talked to me the first time I stopped in and he was nice. These are authentic empanadas and a family owned cafe. read more

If you are from Seattle, you might want to avoid this place. We weren't happy with the drinks. On the way to Venice Beach, we went through the drive thru and ordered our regular drinks (White Chocolate Carmel Frappe) and was told by the cashier that they didn't make those drinks because they tasted bad. Not a good way to start our day. We ended up ordering a Carmel Frappe which didn't taste very good. I don't think it was the coffee that was bad, but maybe the person who mixed the drinks. We aren't fans of Starbucks, however our next coffee's came from Starbucks because we know they do make them. Maybe the non-blended drinks are better, however, we left dissatisfied. read more

Beware of this place. They charged my card $130. When I noticed an hour later and informed them they were not concerned, at all. It took a full week to get credited. Horrible. If you screw up, own it and fix it promptly. The customer should not have to wait for your mistake to be corrected. read more
