Excellent service and super helpful staff! I will swing by on my way to work and grab coffee & a sandwich. I am a black coffee drinker and I tend to notice many local coffee shops in Palm Desert don't brew the best coffee... probably due to the fact that most people want cream and sugar added in, but Just Java makes an excellent cup of coffee! This place is off the hook!! Stopped for a cup of coffee but found an amazing menu. They serve pastry, muffins, cookies, sandwiches and lots of homemade goodies. What a surprise. The Malt Mocha Frost is my favorite cold beverage here. This is the only place I can find a malted coffee beverage. I tried the Mexican Mocha the other day and have been thinking of it ever since. I took a star off for the smoothies since I think they're pricey for what you get. read more

Great coffee, lots of crema on my Americano, something that seems so basic but is often missing, even at so called espresso bars. The kids had croissant sandwiches, one ham and cheese, the other, bacon, egg and cheese. Both opted for the fruit salad side - a decent portion of cantaloupe, kiwi, pineapple, blackberries, grapes, banana, orange and raspberries. Very fresh and good value for money. Best of all though was the incredibly friendly service. I've never set foot in the place before but the baristas were chatty and genuine. read more

Every time I'm in town I stop by at Just Java. Everything is delicious, love their coffee, quiche, Irish Oatmeal and the ladies behind the counter are so sweet. My only complain is the overall dust in the store, all around & in the restroom. I've seen the owners as well who are there doing their best but they need to revamp the place. It looks really old and super dusty. The gang like tagging on restroom mirrors give a different look to the coffee shop. This review is rather a constructive criticism as I want the place to do well. I agree with the majority of reviews. This is a great locally owned coffee shop that serves up excellent coffee, great personalized service and has a wonderful selection of breakfast items. Very reasonable as well. There's a drive through and even though I have not used it, it appears that the customers in the drive through receive the same friendly and fast service. I'm not a big coffee drinker but have come to enjoy Just Java so much that it's part of my daily routine. They open at 5:30 and the ladies are always friendly! They are also my fashionistas (since I'm single and have terrible taste in fashion, they help me figure out if I match or not). Priceless! read more

I like that there is also a drive through. Their only downfall is the prices, they are a little high for their food. But I would still recommend this place. read more

I've been a Just Java customer since moving to the desert in 2004 and tho' my work takes me throughout the valley communities I can say without hesitation that Just Java HAS the best espresso around. I say espresso because 1. that's what I order 90% of the time and 2. because that is the true test of coffee quality and expertise. I have nothing against the frufru drinks. They are a huge part of the coffee business and must be prepared properly, but espresso is the base and unless you start with a good base the rest doesn't matter. Over the years I've come to know the owners to be conscientious, and devoted to not only their business but also the art of coffee. Coffee is a culture, a mindset and a love. I find the stores to be well run and the staff always friendly and ready to serve. If you're a coffee lover who lives in the area, or just passing thru, you owe it to yourself to stop in and try a cup. read more

Been frequenting the drive through for a little over a year. I love the ease of the drive through when I was pregnant. I love the turkey havardi croissant sandwich, and I love the fact all the sandwiches come with fresh cut fruit! The drinks are top notch! We drink the Doppio with extra honey and cream. So friendly! The service here was really fantastic and cheery - everything you'd want out of a coffee shop. It also had the local, authentic vibe. We ordered a drip coffee, medium fruit ($6), bacon and cheddar breakfast sandwich on the asiago cheese bagel ($6), and a dry cappuccino. Everything was very tasty. Tucked away in a shopping center next to a Ralph's, Just Java is a welcome alternative to an area dominated by large chain coffee shops. They serve everything you could want from your larger faceless chains, but it has a homey, local feel. I always make it a point to buy my morning coffee from this shop, rather then the Starbucks on the other side of the street. read more

Came here for the first time today. The fresh oatmeal and fruit cups are absolutely delicious! The oatmeal is served with fresh bananas,strawberries and blueberries and topped with real cinnamon. The fruit cup was packed full of fresh ripe fruit. The staff asked me about my Labor day and struck up a friendly conversation and learned my name. I feel like they really take time to get to know their customers. This is a real coffee house/Cafe and I would recommend this place to everyone. We arrived in the desert Tuesday and today I finally had a really good cup of coffee. I think they need more variety because all I could get was Ethiopian. My wife's Chai Frost was very good. But I reckon most of these ole farts out here in the desert think coffee shop coffee is good so it's hard for an independent coffee place to make it. read more

Out of convenience I usually end up at Starbucks when I'm in the area but this time around I decided to use my friend Yelp and see if I can support a local coffee shop. Indeed found a great spot! The place is nice, family owned, with owners welcoming and warm presence. I got vanilla latte and loved it! Can't remember vanilla latte being that delicious from other coffee shops. My favorite coffee spot! I think this place is seriously underrated as far as the quality of their coffee. Most places (including a trendy coffee place a few miles away that will remain unnamed), have gotten lazy with making their drinks. An iced latte should not be milk with a splash of espresso, it should be smooth & strong with a dark color to it. Other places are typically too weak and therefore I need to get an extra shot, or for some reason, it tastes watered down.
