As an FYI, the dine in area is not very big so if you come during prime lunch time you may not be able to dine in. Ordered ahead and the food was ready in the time it took for me to make the 10 minute drive over. The restaurant was clean and had a nice sized dining room with a good amount of tables. Ordered a gyro sandwich and large Mediterranean salad with gyro meat added for us to split like we usually do and see how it stacks up to our regular spot. I liked the variety of toppings the gyro sandwich had and the chunky tzatziki but was surprised to find the sandwich came with no onions. My mom mentioned that she thought the gyro strips weren't as well seasoned as at other places and I initially disagreed but by the end of the meal I did notice the inconsistency and had more than a couple of bland tasting pieces. This was more notable in the Mediterranean salad which had a generous portion of the meat but was not very Mediterranean/Greek. It didn't have any olives, minimal onions and little to no dressing. Seemed more like just the fattoush salad with a couple of pieces of feta. So unfortunately it looks like we'll just have to make more of an effort to get into our tried and true gyro provider before closing time. I have to say that there was a couple of stray pieces of chicken shawarma in our gyros that actually tasted really good which leads me to believe that maybe Pita Zone's forte is their shawarma.
