Came here on Sunday of Mom's weekend, to say it was busy is an understatement! The line wrapped half way through the eating area. But it really moved pretty quickly and amazingly if people don't hold tables before they order it works out that when you get through the line there is a free table waiting for you. It took us a while to find time to eat at Just Wafflin and I had no idea what to expect. At first view, the line concerned me. It was long and I was hungry. To our surprise it moved very quickly and the food came out even faster. I was impressed with their decor and the abundance of room once inside. The menu had great variety and made it difficult to decide what to try. I wound up going with the Breakfast Waffle and it didn't disappoint. Y'all. I just had lunch there for the first time and I am mind blown. It is DELICIOUS. The waffles are huge and light. I ordered the waffle breakfast with Oklahoma-grown pecans in the waffle with peach cobbler topping. Holy moly. It came with two eggs cooked perfectly and three thick pieces of sweet brown sugar bacon. The peach cobbler topping was superb and cinnamony. I tried a piece of the waffle with peaches and the bacon...it was an unreal moment of salty sweet perfection. My dining partner ordered the same breakfast with a blueberry waffle with cheesecake sauce and it was crazy good too. The hardest part was ordering as the menu is delectable and the combinations are endless. I will be back very soon, but I hear it is crazy on weekend mornings. Can't wait to try the blueberry waffle with lemon curd, the chicken strips looked so good, the chocolate chip waffle with fresh berries, or the cornbread waffle with cheddar and jalapenos in the batter with some savory topping. I would be remiss to not mention their "waffle sauce." It's a creamy looking sweet syrup like topping they offer in addition to regular syrup and it makes whatever you ordered more delicious. It's probably full of butter. Who knows, but it's SO TASTY! On Tuesdays you get an additional topping for FREE, and on Fridays the waffle breakfast is $1 off. I hear the coffee is outstanding. They do offer a few other choices and a special daily, but you are going to want to try the main attraction...a huge puffy soft waffle which you can top with tons of sweet or savory options. Simple, but perfect. They have a counter ordering process, and the place isn't huge...so weekend mornings through lunch are pretty crowded. If you have more than a few ppl with you, the best way of doing things is to walk in and wait for a table to come open, then have a member of your party claim it. Otherwise, you could end up in a situation where you have ordered and your food is coming out, but you have no place to sit. They are also only open from early-ish morning until early afternoon, so if you are planning on having lunch, make sure and check what time they close that day. Overall, Just Wafflin is always a delicious option, even when you have a guest who is more in the mood for a savory dish, as they waffle toppings rub the gamut from a chicken enchilada type dish over waffles to the more typical fruits and syrups.
