We are always on the hunt for fun coffee shops, and after visiting K Brew, we can say that we have found our all-time favorite. A friendly environment, tasty drinks, and yummy food. We visited two days in a row, each time trying something new, and nothing disappointed. The teas are equally as great, but if you're more of a coffee fan, they have a unique selection of featured coffees that we tasted and approved our way through during the week. As for a bite to eat, I got the blueberry bagel with strawberry spread and it was delicious. Nick got a sesame bagel with ham and swiss, that I polished off when he was full. Uber hipster coffee shop. All the white space and natural lighting and outlets for your ipad would be enough to draw in the pretty people. But the hammocks and the vibe really outdoes it. That said, it's so packed in here and hard to find a seat. Can I throw some shade ....and say that that the floors were pretty dirty and the air was stinky/stuffy when I stopped in. What about the coffee? Well, I actually didn't love it. They have legendary seasonal drinks (winter spice latte) which are better than the rest. If I come back this is what I'll order. read more

I typically don't review a place until I've been there a few times so I can give a more accurate and unbiased opinion of all of my experiences. K brew has always hit the mark on coffee, ambiance, staff, and overall experience each and every time I've been there. Out of all the hip and upcoming coffee shops I've tried in the Knoxville, from downtown to Farragut, K brew has consistently had the best tasting coffee for me each time. I initially tried this location for their hammock forest in the back, and while the prices can be a bit more steep than other places, their coffee is almost always perfectly brewed. I've tried a variety of drinks, and there is always a balance of flavors, with the coffee never burnt or overly steeped like other places I've been to in the area. I'm very sad that there is not a K brew on the west side of Knoxville, which doesn't stop me from making the weekly trek from Oak Ridge just to get the best coffee in town! read more

While I haven't actually had coffee at Kbrew, the church that I attend use the Marble City Blend as a part of our hospitality ministry every week. Everyone absolutely is on board and all speak highly of this coffee. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee because this is it!! It can be adjusted according to how strong that you like it. Most importantly, the young people and those 20-30 age groups have all acknowledged how good the coffee is and we are very happy with it. This is the first bad review I have ever left. We decided to go here and get breakfast but regret it very much. When we were ordering they were out of practically everything that goes on their bagels and were not even nice when telling us. We still went ahead and decided to give them a chance. The bagels ended up being very mushy and did not taste fresh. The coffee also tasted like it was purely milk and sugar. Overall we were disappointed with the coffee, food, and customer service. Love going here for meetings or a quick hang with friends. Their coffee is great, and they really know what they're doing. I generally drink black coffee, but every single time I've had a latte it's been fandamntabulous! I like the separation of sections, so that you can have 2-3 totally different experiences while there. I've yet to try the bagels, but love that that's an option. I only have two small issues with the place. I wish it were a bit bigger. A lot of the clientele generally hang out for hours on end. It can be a bit of a bear getting a seat if it's busy, and a little difficult to hold a meeting with everyone sitting on top of one another at times. The other issue is a piddly issue, the Rewards program. The rate is set to receive no Rewards unless you spend at minimum $5. I'm a black coffee drinker 99.999999% of the time, and am in there quite often...yet still have zero Rewards. A cup of black coffee and a dollar tip are $4.99. Which makes me laugh. I shouldn't have to game the system by having to remember to tip $1.02 in order to get a Reward point. Most places have it set by entering your phone number or tied to your credit card. Which I'm fine with. Again, both issues are totally and completely Cadillac Problems. read more

I'll begin with a caveat: as a cafe, it's quite good. It's relaxed, feels like a nice place to spend time, and is a solid place to hang out with friends. I don't really drink coffee so I can't speak to that, but the rest of the menu has in my experience been good. But then there's the COVID angle, and this is where we get to the one star review. I can't recall having seen so many maskless people packed into so small a space since March, nor can I recall seeing a business manage their dine-in situation more recklessly and with less regard for common sense. I walked into the place a few days back, and it was full of people, some clearly strangers sitting elbow-to-elbow, drinking coffee and eating food, with essentially no masks in sight. From a business perspective, congratulations, you're making a profit. From an ethical perspective... this is reprehensible. While I understand that they have an obligation to their employees, they *also* have an obligation to their community, and that obligation should extend to not functioning as a point of essentially unmitigated contact for dozens -- and possibly more, from what I saw, although admittedly it was a weekend afternoon -- of people over the course of a single day. As I was driving home, I found myself becoming more and more irritated with what I'd seen. From what I saw, despite employees wearing masks, it does not seem like the business is taking the pandemic very seriously. Maybe that's a political thing, but I don't really care what the owners' politics are; people are sick and dying and sensible public health policy is not and should not be contingent upon partisan affiliations. It's irresponsible and demonstrably detrimental to "leave it up to the guest" whether they think a mask is important, particularly because wearing a mask has more of an effect on the people around the wearer than it does on the wearer itself. I would genuinely advocate against giving money to a business with such a casual disregard for what is at this point possibly the worst stage of an unprecedented global pandemic. I'd expect to see this kind of shit in some backwoods dive bar, but from all the millennial hipsters I saw working there, they really should know better. read more

Even if everything had been perfect, the price was too high, but the coffee was mediocre and the parts of the bagel had the consistency of a rock. Good coffee, they use Good Folks beans. I used to frequent them for both my beans and my Americanos. I do still stop in once a month or so but quit picking up beans there after I was charged 50 cents for a water on a $16 bill. I mostly go to the shop down the street now and get my beans on the south side of the river. I just seem to get a better vibe from the other shops in town. I've also found that other shops are a bit more flexible on the free drip with beans. Either throwing me an americano or at least taking dollar or two off of one instead of a drip. Their prices for specialty drink are also a bit steep it seems if that's your thing. It's an otherwise fine shop, just not the customer oriented service you may get at others. read more

I really enjoyed K Brew! The staff was so friendly and helpful when I had questions, I ordered a multigrain bagel with the veggie spread and a coffee. The bagel was so good and I was given plenty of cream cheese (my favorite). The coffee was perfect as well. I will definitely be back! I really wish they opened earlier so I could come here and study in the mornings! Definitely recommend this place. First let me just ask this: Has Alton Brown EVER been wrong? I mean seriously?! He's pretty much a genius and not just culinarily speaking. So when he deemed K Brew in our little city of K Town one of his favorites, I hope you were taking notes. This little space does it all right. Don't come here in a hurry because they aren't rushing to get you out the door. They take their time and craft your caffeinated concoction to perfection. Their house made chai is some of my favorite in town. It's spicy, creamy, and like something found in heaven. If you need something refreshing on a hot day, their iced lattes always hit the spot, but their iced peach tea is fabulous. Their drip black coffee is delicious and if you prefer to drink your coffee with your pinky up, they have some great pour over/siphon/french press options too. If you have work to do, throw in your head phones, pull up to the bar, and plug your laptop into any of the readily available plugs. The staff here is super attentive and friendly beyond all. My husband and I love K Brew, although the atmosphere is a bit hipster for his tastes. They have the most creative seasonal drinks. The iced Honey Lavender Latte is amazing and unique. You don't want to miss the Pumpkin Pie Latte in the fall... definitely not a basic PSL! The quality of the coffee justifies the price, and I love supporting a local business. I avoid taking my toddler inside during peak hours since patrons are typically on their laptops or studying. If you have little ones, I'd suggest ordering to-go. Very relaxed atmosphere great for studying or casual reading. Usually just drink my coffee black but they've got plenty of options for more elaborate drinks. Haven't tried the bagels yet but, I see people getting them frequently whenever I'm here. I absolutely love their power hour from 5 pm to 6pm because you can get a small cup of house blend or a cappuccino for $1. What has to be my favorite thing about this coffee shop is the fact that my church body First Lutheran is right across the street. I enjoy going to K brew on Wednesday's for their power hour before going to my church's evening divine service at 6:30 pm. K brew opens every Sunday at 8 am and First Lutheran holds their divine service at 9:30 am followed by Bible study at 10:30 am. So please get a coffee at K Brew then come join us for worship every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. read more

What an absurd "policy" especially for the insanely high prices they charge. After many years of frequenting K brew, we won't be going back ever. I've been coming here on a (shamefully) frequent basis for years, and I absolutely love it. Their espresso has a great flavor, and pretty much all of their (admittedly expensive--up to $8) lattes are terrific. If there's any downside, it's that the bagels are approximately the temperature of the sun, and that the place feels very Christian at times (I swear it attracts youth pastors and well meaning but ignorant YL college kids). But honestly the coffee is so good that it makes up for it, and that's saying something. read more

Service was great and with all those and a 15% tip the total was about $16. K Brew is easier to park at as it's not smack dab downtown like Old City. K brew is on one of my travel routes and I'm glad they are. I find their service to be not so great, pretty slow, so that's why I've only given four stars, but their product is fine. This is the only place I know of in Knoxville that sells bagels in the morning, and it's nice to have one occasionally. I like the coffee from Wild Love Bakehouse better or from Old City Java, but K brew coffee is OK, not bad at all. read more

It's usually crazy crowded (which is great for them), but if you're looking for a quiet cup of coffee and you know, a place to sit, it's probably not for you. I have taken out of town visitors here a couple times, but you'll never find me here as a first choice. Since moving to Knoxville I have been desperately searching for something that feels like home... A place that can make really great coffee, at a reasonable pace, in a rad environment for working. I have found it! K Brew is legit! The coffee is amazing and I have to say, this set up for seating whether you want to hunker down and get to work or meet with a friend and chat, this place is number one in my book. I doubt you'll find a kinder group of baristas in town. I've been a fan of K Brew since the day they opened in their tiny first shop down the road from the place they now call home. Due to their seemingly instant popularity, they outgrew their first location within about a year and have been slinging fine coffee drinks to North Knox residents ever since. My personal favorite touch is that they regularly feature specialty coffee drinks which were created by one of their employees. Buy one of these special concoctions and you'll be directly supporting the employee who created it, as they share the proceeds with them. read more

This place is one of the things I miss most about Knoxville since moving to the Nashville area. Their coffee drinks are some of, if not the best, I've ever had (I make it a point to try out local coffee shops in every city I visit, so this is high praise!). Everything I've tried, from the iced mocha and the cold brew to the seasonal drinks like the cookie butter latte and, most recently, the coconut cookie mocha, has been amazing. My favorite was their pumpkin spice latte - oh my gosh, I'm still thinking about that drink this many months later! I also love that they use Cruze milk in their drinks - it's excellent. I haven't tried the Gay Street location, but this one and the one on Kingston Pike are consistently awesome. Can't recommend enough! read more

Was visit from out of town and this cute spot was right by where I was staying!!! Great coffee and good vibes! I came on a rainy day which dampened the mood a bit but I still got on one of the hammocks for a bit! Which a great idea! There is tons of seating here great for working, studying, reading or coming with groups. I saw outlets everywhere too! I can see this places getting crowded on really nice days but I'd still come!
