The coffee they use for their coffee drinks.
Donna S.

The Airbnb nearby, where we stayed, gave us a sample of their coffee to advertise LOCAL. I LOVED that, so I headed to the coffee shop to check it out. The space is LOVELY... very up-scale with lots of light coming in & lots of seating. (Many people were there working, so I assume they have good wifi.) The staff was SUPER sweet & helpful. The mocha I got was delicious..... But... My issue is with the PRICES. A medium-sized mocha -- that, at $6.50, was already more expensive than Starbucks or any other coffee shop close-by I'd tried, -- was $7.50 with almond milk. $8.20 with tax. I did tip... so a medium mocha was over $9!? Unreasonable in my book.... that's Room Service prices. ;P ALTHOUGH, I will say that, IF you're staying to use their wifi, I think it's not as bad.... But for those of us who were getting it to go, it's ridiculous. I was thinking, after I left, about WHAT could possibly validate the high cost....the coffee bags don't mention organic or fair trade... Maybe the staff is paid higher or they get insurance? I like the new policy at some restaurants that slightly increases the cost of food & doesn't take tips but pays "fair wage & benefits" to employees... but this place had a place for tips so I don't think that's the case.... I didn't ask. Bags of coffee were about $16. I don't think I'll be back. There are LOTS of cute shops to try and ALL, so far, we're less expensive.

Just love the spaciousness of this coffee house.

I came here the other day with my girlfriend. Right away, I loved the friendly service. Andrew, one of the managers, took my order and even provided me with a little palate cleanser along with my ordered cappuccino. I have been seeking the perfect cappuccino since I moved here, and I have to say this has got to be it. Absolutely, loved the flavor here! And I also adored the cool atmosphere --very spacious inside and if it wasn't such a hot day, we would have sat in the outside room with the cool hammocks. A tip from my girlfriend: absolutely try one of their bagels! I look forward to having one next time.

Great stop on our way to a morning hike. Very friendly staff, clean tables and swinging hammocks to sit on outside. Our lattes were very tasty, served hot and reasonably priced. The reason for the four stars was the bagel sandwiches. We both ordered a custom sandwich and the bagel was doughy with an egg that was previously frozen, rubbery and not good. We were bummed and only took one bite and had to throw them away. We stayed to swing, had a fun morning regardless and enjoyed our lattes on the patio. The next driveway over you can find the Welcome to Knoxville mural and it's a great place for fun photos. We would definitely return but only for a coffee. Very comfortable here with a welcome home vibe. Enjoy!

Visited again while in town and had a much better experience! I didn't realize they had a combo! The combos is a black coffee or cappuccino AND a bagel and spread and I think it's only like $6?! I got a black coffee and an Asiago bagel with whipped butter. This was seriously one of the best bagels I've ever had. The line when we got there was long, but was moving super fast and we got our coffee and bagels super fast too! I really do like this place. It's so cute! I love the hammock swings. This time they even had a little pop up clothing shop in the room with the hammock swings!

Another day and another great coffee. Lots of work to get done today, all fueled with radical caffeine.

Might be the best latte I've ever had. Tried their two featured lattes- Pumpkin Pie and Brown Sugar. Both were made with real ingredients, not just syrups and that was evident in the great flavor. I would stop by Knoxville again for more. A bit pricey. $7 for the features latte and $1 for oat milk substitution but I suppose you're paying for quality. When paying it looks like there is a reward program so that may help for regulars or someone who lives in town. VERY cute atmosphere and clean. A perfect place to join all the students and relax or get work done. Also serve bagels and breakfast sandwiches but I didn't purchase any. Merch: they have a two styles of mugs and one iced coffee glass plus some brewing supplies, tshirts, and beans.

Before really planning anything about my Knoxville trip I planned out some coffee shops to visit! K brew popped up on every list of where to get good coffee in Knoxville so I knew it had to be on my list! I planned to visit a few during my stay but K brew was the first and it lived up to all the hype! First of all the place is adorable with the swings in the back with lights and an open garage door look.. then the latte and breakfast sandwich made the stop more than worth it! If my trip was longer I'd pop in multiple times but I wanted to be sure to spread out my coffee love. I've already recommended this place to multiple people visiting the area soon!

Brew - love! I tried the coconut creme latte. It was lovely. There are hammocks inside with a large garage type door opened. Nice and breezy while I sipped my latte. Very zen. Very hip! Prices equivalent to other coffee shops

The best bagels and spreads. There's also a great chai tea option for those that don't do coffee! A must try!

The place had 2 customers silently sitting and maybe working on their computers but the whole place felt sterile and lifeless. I wasn't greeted and stood at the counter for a few minutes while the lone employee arranged items until I finally asked if I could order. I wanted to sample a variety- so I got an apple fritter, a snickerdoodle donut, a buttermilk old fashioned, and a blueberry Pączki. The apple fritter was the best of those 4. The snickerdoodle was just a traditional cinnamon sugar donut. The base was a bit dry yet also tasted oily. The buttermilk old fashioned had a similar greasy flavor and not the tang I'd expect from this type of donut. The Pączki was just a minimally filled jelly donut...and the dough was very greasy. Normally, the dough is more bready and has a more rich flavor. The ones I've always eaten in the past are heavily filled. This place seems like it has potential but it just lacks the quality or personality I'm looking for in a local gem. Nothing was awful but nothing was great either.

I ordered a standard hot latte no added flavor just 2% milk. What I got was a full bodied, rich and smooth cup of coffee. The roast has no bitterness. Very enjoyable. My wife asked for something sweet hot and they recommended a latte with honey and cayenne. It was just right. Kick of heat and not too sweet. A surprising star of our visit was an apple tart! It paired so well with our coffees. It was fresh and a nice balance of crisp tart and warm apple. We also brought one of our dogs with us and Awaken is very pet friendly. There was also another pet owner chilling at a nearby table. Great stop. We highly recommend Awaken if you are in the area. Be advised that parking is paid in the area.

Parking is a little bit of a struggle but it's to be expected in a denser area like this. I got their speciality honey bear latte iced. It was prepared quickly and was super yummy! The cinnamon and honey flavor was sweet and strong and it had a great ratio of coffee to milk. Would happily order again! My one complaint is service was kind of...icy? I dunno, the barista never approached or asked if I had any questions and just generally gave the vibe that she'd rather not be helping me. It didn't feel very welcoming, but she wasn't outright rude, either. Still, coffee is the most important thing, and in that regard they absolutely delivered!

It wasn't as sweet as I expected (like if you order at Starbucks for eg) but the ambiance inside is excellent - they have tables and regular chairs but also couches and big soft chairs. I sat in a big soft chair and was very comfortable! They also have two clean bathrooms, i changed in there after hiking. There weren't enough hanging pegs but they were spacious so still good enough. The staff up front were quick and helpful! No trouble there. And there were a decent number of parking spots out back - that said, by the time I left, the lot was completely full. Not sure where else you could park in the area. Overall, if passing and needing a rest I would rec this spot! But I would try ordering something else besides a London fog ;)
