I met K-Designers at a home show a while back and scheduled them to come out and give me an estimate for a bathroom remodel and patio cover. I got a call the week before saying they don't do patio covers. A quick check of their website and it says they do. ...whatever. Then, I found this Yelp page. Abort! Abort! Abort!! I called and cancelled, but they still showed up... a half hour late. Oh, and this lady showed up with two LARGE cases of stuff. This wouldn't have been a short visit by any means. She was definitely moving in, or staying for dinner. I dunno. But she was nice, so I politely let her know that we had cancelled a few days earlier. I guess nobody told her. So she left. End of story? Nope. I got a call 20 minutes later from someone at K-Designers, "Hi Sir. I apologize that our representative did not show up to your appointment. She had a last minute family emergency and had to cancel. But we'd like to reschedule and make it up to you." Me: "Emergency? Your rep was just here." KD: "Oh.... (pause) ... ummm" Me: "I cancelled my appointment the other day too, and your rep still showed up" KD: "Really?" Me: "You people don't talk to each other much do you?" KD: "Well...sir...." These windows are cheaply made, and they have significant drawbacks. The excessive framing around the glass reduces the actual viewing area. Also, be wary of their advertised lifetime warranty. After a few years, when you have a problem, the company refuses to honor it. They claim they're just a dealer, not the manufacturer, and blame any problems on their now-defunct subcontractor. Finally looked at the third window and it is worse. There is no weather barrier - zero. If they used caulk to set the window it has disappeared. The window is also too small - it exposes the drywall side around the window, which now requires replacement. The leaks were not noticed because of drapes. Should I file suit? read more

Last December, I decided to remodel the main bathroom with K-designers. I had a great experience with them, even though I was hesitant to hire a contractor without a local office. Leo is the Marketing Director. He is very professional and knowledgeable, and he helped me to customize the perfect shower. Also, Dave Deni, was the remodeling technician. He was very detail oriented on his job. Should I remodel the other bathroom, I would like him to be the person to do it. Also, Kari, made sure that the all the permits from the city were ready on time. She has a pleasant disposition to assist me with any question or concerns I had during the project. No one returns the phone calls, every time I call, they say someone will call back. No one does. I have texted and spoken with the manager, sent video of the problem. It is now almost April, the problem is not solved. The company says lifetime warranty. Do not believe it because they won't even fix a simple problem. They just ignore you. K-Designers had a booth at the Sacramento County fair this past memorial day weekend and we were mildly interested in what they had to offer seeing as how we have some wood rot and some siding on the front of the house that needs to be replaced. We are currently in the process of doing some home remodeling and this was next on our list. So we set an appointment and a rep came out to talk to us about the products that they have to offer. Apparently they don't do wood rot repairs which seems really silly seeing as how they do siding and typically when you're replacing siding there's some wood rot otherwise why are you replacing the siding?...so that doesn't make any sense. Immediately into the appointment I got the feeling that the only sale they were looking to make was on a big project and they clearly did not understand that we only needed the front facing on our house replaced and not the siding on the entire exterior. It didn't take long to sense that our project was considered "small" in nature to them and they were not interested in doing any small jobs unless they could bring in at least $30K, which in my opinion is highly unreasonable for the job that we needed done. Before the rep could get to the quote he said that his Internet wasn't working and that he would have to email the quote to us. We never heard from them again. No quote was ever emailed. No follow-up phone call. Nothing. Crickets. If you're a middle class homeowner with a conservative budget, don't even bother calling this company because they don't want to do small jobs. So much for the so called "custom" exterior design that they specialize in if they don't even do wood rot repair. Let me start by saying this company is awful. Awful to work for and awful to do business with. I worked for this company and they are 100 percent harassing people on cold calls and if you do not tell them to put you on the do not call list they keep harassing you anyway. It got so bad that people in Utah banned them from calling on Sundays. When I spoke with customers that received any home improvement they let me know how the products they installed were poorly installed. Then when they call in to get things covered under this so called 'lifetime' warranty! It's bogus they give them the run around. What ever you do don't share your information with them or set an appointment because if they get in your living room they will not leave until you promise to buy something. They aren't good people that is running this company all the way to the Human Resources Department. Also they are embezzling money from the company using PTO. I laughed and said I didn't pay much more than that for my house 10 years ago. Then he said how much do you think it should cost. I didn't answer it but I said you are way out of line. Insisted on getting our social security numbers, employment info, and mortgage info 3 times before giving even giving a quote... after clearing saying we weren't comfortable sharing that information yet. Came at us with a 60k quote we got down to 20k with "marketing discounts" and other "incentives". Tried intimidating us into buying their unpaintable siding by saying it would cost us 16k anyways, for just paint maintenance if we don't choose their product. Wouldn't get out of my garage after needing to take our son inside. Super awkward and obvious sales/scam tactics. On 7/16/25, K-Designers of Sacramento sent Crystal Helland to my home to create an estimate for replacement of most of my windows with modern double-pane. Crystal was polite and interviewed us for about 20 minutes before inventorying our windows and their sizes. She then spent several minutes calculating her estimate for our 20 odd windows. The final tally came out just north of $48,000. I mentioned that this number was about twice what we'd paid to have our roof replaced. She smiled and said she'd discount the price by 10% if we signed a contract within the next five minutes. We declined the 10% and asked for her quote to be sent to us in writing. She promised the email would arrive the following morning of the 17th. When the email had not arrived by the 18th, I sent an email to the office support website, asking where the estimate was. On the 19th I got a phone call from Crystal asking for my email address again, which I gave to her. In hindsight, I thought it peculiar she'd ask for it since it was part of my query to the support staff. She said she'd get the estimate out to me forthwith.... I'm still waiting. While waiting, I asked another longtime purveyor of windows here in Grass Valley to also come by for an estimate. He took the measurements back to his office to work out the estimate, but said it would probably come to about $1000/window on average. I smiled -- $20,000 vs. $48,000. I suspect I'll never hear back from K-Designers. read more

I'd give this business zero stars if I could. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY: it is a classic bait-&-switch operation & they will lie themselves hoarse to get you to spend way more than you need to. Example from my own experience: after I had signed a contract for replacement windows & *after* the statutory 72-hour window for cancelling the contract was past, they came out to my house to tell me that they could not install exact replacements of the existing windows due to current fire codes. This is utter bullshit, as I have been told by numerous county building inspectors. And of course what they wanted to install instead would have been at least double the cost for the windows themselves, not to mention the additional work for enlarging & reframing the space they were to be installed in. I had to spend a good hour on the phone with the owner hammering home my point that since he could not/would not install what was agreed in the contract, the contract was null & void: finally got rid of him by giving him my attorney's phone number & saying, talk to her. Needless to say he never did, b/c he knew he didn't have a leg to stand on. The 5-star reviews you see on their website are there b/c they BRIBE their customers: give us a 5-star review & we'll give you a cruise ship vacation. He truly appeared to care how the windows were installed, operated, and looked. There were a couple of defects in a window and the team addressed these concerns promptly and without hesitation. I hired KDesigners at the end of 2023 to install their America's Dream Windows in my home. Since then, my PGnE (energy) bill never exceeded $200 (prior to that, I had bills close to $300/mo. In addition, the new windows have better seals which keeps the drafts, dust, and noise out. I would recommend getting new windows through KDesigners! P.S. the windows also give me more privacy because of the tint (ppl have to come close to see anything inside) read more

I gave the company a one star rating because I had to in order to post this review. They would have received no stars, except in the minus category. What can I say about K-Designers? I have nothing good to say about this company. Why? They have zero idea of what "customer service" means, stands for, or any desire to provide it. I know that they have no clue of the definition for customer service. I had some aluminum siding placed on my home in 2003. Possibly, as a result of heavy wind gusts, I'm speculating here, a part of the siding on the roof facia board came loose. Why and how it came apart, I can't say. Beginning in April, I repeatedly called the local store located at 2440 Gold River Rd Suite 200, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 and got no response other than to leave a message. Might as well talk to yourself, because despite the numerous messages, I got no response. Finally, I got a voicemail message on April 29th at 9:36 AM. I called the number on the voicemail, and again, I had to leave a message. I tried again and on my third attempt, spoke to a person. I explained the situation and "tried" to schedule an appointment. My attempt was unsuccessful. The reason Bridget gave was they were scheduled a couple of out and it didn't know when to schedule a date. I called Ian, the repair person more than four times, and never received a call back. I resorted to calling the corporate office to get some help. I could go on for another day or two about the lack of responses, but you get the picture. My recommendation is "TO NEVER HIRE K-DESIGNERS" to perform any home remodeling projects. This company is terrible!! Stay away from them. Had the majority of our house windows replaced about 5 years ago and have had problems with them ever since. Had two windows that needed to be re-installed due to leaks and air pass through. A three panel window leaked for three winters after install requiring multiple rework. They finally had to cut into our external wall and install an awning over the window. The one sliding glass door they installed, is developing water marks around it. We had to have the bathroom window replaced due to leaking around the frame. Once again, stay away from this company! read more

We got Windows installed this past June 2022. They charges us a lot of money 16k to be exact. They were installed in two days with extremely poor quality. We have a a master bedroom and the window definitely needed to be replaced as well as the framing. Well only the window was replaced with the rotten wood still there. The installation person only screwed in a small piece of wood and left at that. Oh did I mention they wanted to originally charge us 25k for 10 windows. So it's December in northern california and it'd started raining. Well water started getting through. I messages them and they only stated they forwarded it. It been 3 days and no response. So now my family is stuck with a loan for poor quality windows and now we have to fix that window and fix the water damage. Thanks K-designers. read more

Horrible salesman tactics! These people came into my home 2 years ago and I would like to say they will not leave and will try to make you pay super inflated prices. When they originally quoted me the were charging us $30k for windows and then eventually dropped the price down to $12k after a day of saying no when we declined the "best discount ever" of $19k if we took the offer today. Aggressive and will not listen to to a no and takes 2 hours to run a sales pitch and "draws up" a sales plan that is complete BS read more

K-designers installed some windows for me last year. It look them nearly 6 months to do it, I think because my job as "too small" for them to prioritize. Eventually what happened is they called and said they had a cancellation and so they could do my job THAT DAY, take-it-or-leave-it with under 1 hour notice. Then they showed up with the wrong screens, and acted like they really didn't even know what the job was that they were going to do. Despite that, we got through it, the windows were installed, and I was relatively happy with the job that they did. I love my new windows, and I'm glad I did it. Here's the real problem with K-designers though. They are incessant spam artists. Since having my windows replace, I've gotten at least one call a month from them asking me if I need my windows replaced. At first that was just kind of pathetic, just a sign of completely cluelessness and ineptitude. Now though I get calls almost every day, and most of the time when I pick up the phone, there is no answer on the other end. My land-line phone service (Verizon) even started labelling them when they call as SPAM K-Dsigners, which is certainly accurate. And when I've asked them to stop, they haven't. It was set for a Wednesday between 7 and 7.30pm which I thought was wierd, but whatever. Waited at the house (which we had just purchased and not living in yet - we live 2 hrs away) until 8pm - NO SHOW!! Next day I get a call from a lady apologizing on behalf of the company owner. They want to make it up to me and offer "substantial discounts". We scheduled another appointment for the Saturday, then guess what? NO SHOW again!! I had the displeasure of meeting K-Designers at a Home and Holiday show 2 years ago. They lied about EVERYTHING. emember the last time we emailed. I do know it took Tony 3 weeks to call me. He called to let me know the siding we wanted is on back order but should arrive in a week. He said he would call me to schedule a time for installation. I haven't heard a word in the last month or longer. I do not wish to speak with him, everytime we speak he lies. I am so done with dealing with him. We now have 20 temperatures and I DO NOT want siding installed during the winter months. At this point I feel like I should not have to pay for this poor excuse for crappy siding and the worse customer service I have ever experienced. I am being charge for siding just the front of my house. I was ignorant to what siding my whole would cost. Since experiencing KDesigns, I am now aware I could have had my entire house sided with better quality siding for the same price! Now I am paying for it. I first sent pictures to Tony on July 13, 2021. A K-DESIGNER employee came to my house a month later and confirmed I needed it redone. Never heard from anyone again until I found you. One years a four months later I still have crappy siding that was not installed correctly. This "manager" you have in SLC is worthless as far as customer service. Maybe this is how K-DESIGNERS operates. Make promises to make the customer feel good and then never follow through with the promise. If this is the case, Tony is an amazing manager for your company. Some compensation should be given back to me. Here are some ideas I have. 1) Eliminate my debt and don't fix my siding. 2) Side my entire house with gutter for no extra cost. Two ideas. Think on it. I had to ask the estimator to leave after spending an hour in my kitchen trying to get me to agree to 'today's price'. Today's best cash price was a little over $8,000, today's financed price was just shy of $10,000, the 30 day price was $14,000 and the 'if you don't take the deal price' was over $16,000. Not to mention the estimate was strictly verbal and chicken scratch on the back of a business card. Half of what he talked about was that I had to agree to be a marketing partner with them to get the deal. I never even saw a picture of what the product looked like, just pieces of the frame. I will not tolerate high pressure tactics like this. They also brought in a well known competitor's price list and spoke badly about them - a well respected company. At the end of the visit, still tried to get me to sign something showing we met. I refused to sign anything, for any reason, and he got huffy and threw his pen. WORST company ever! They will not provide you a breakdown of the prices that they are charging you. They used old caulking on my windows. Turned Brown three weeks later. They told me just paint over it. Three of the screens, were cut along the sides where the screens were just not wide enough for the metal edging that goes around it. The vinyl breaks very easily. Gets holes in it very easily. Will you used white on our house. And some of the pieces did not match. They told me it would be easy to clean. Which is not true! THEY double charged us. I quit paying when I asked for a complete Breakdown of everything they charged us. They refused to send it to me. They did not finish the gutter part, left it hanging mid air. Said they would come back and fix it. They never did! They then sent me to collections and filed a lawsuit against me. Which is great for me! Because now I know a judge will make them give me the printout. I can't wait to see the judge! I have pictures to back everything up that I have said. This is a very bad run company! DO NOT USE THEM! You will be sorry that you did!!! The service, quality of the products, and the value are not worth what they charge! I would give them zero stars. But this website will not let me. K-Designers was such a great company to work with. From the moment we contacted them, them coming in showing us the product, to them installing it! They helped us find financing that was reasonable and within our budget. We don't have to stress over our monthly payments. We got 4 of their energy efficient windows and even though the rest of our windows are not completely energy efficient, we can still tell a difference since the installation of the windows. Louise and his team did amazing job installing the windows. They were kind professional, and were in and out in a matter of hours. They even ran into a little hiccup. We could still see the insulation around one of our windows but they were able to get a money order, run to Home Depot, grabbed the supplies they needed and fixed the problem the same day. It was a warm and welcoming experience while engaging in conversation about home improvements. I got all of the information displayed in a professional and non overbearing/ overwhelming manor (which I believe is a true skill) and I understood all that was being explained and demonstrated. They also worked with me not being able to be at my house on time and waited for me which was super appreciated. to say that this company and their employees go over and beyond would be an understatement. We had our two bathroom showers redone. We were told by the Sales rep Tom who came to our home and did a pressure pitch to go with their company. He indicated that the showers would be warranted for life and was transferrable. I will say that the person who did the work was very pleasant and everything kept clean by him each day upon leaving. Our back shower has not had any pressure and doesn't get very hot, but when turned to cold the pressure is high. When I contacted the company they indicated that unless the part was defective we would have to pay a trip fee of $150.00 as well as $95.00 an hour. When asked about the life time warranty, I was told it wouldn't be covered unless the parts were defective by the manufacture but they wouldn't know until they sent someone out. We paid a lot of money ($30,000) for both showers and it doesn't appear they stand behind what is told to a person. My recommendation would be read the fine print, as they don't stand behind their word by their sales people. I would not recommend this company to anyone! read more
