I've been a customer of 2 years and will not be back. They do not care about their customers time. They only care about making the most money and fitting in the most clients. Multiple times I've made appointments in advanced and have been forced to sit and wait for 40+ minutes. Today was the last straw. Made an appointment in advance,confirmed it, and still had to wait 40+ minutes. When I got there he said "just finishing her color it would be quick" to make me stay, and it was 40 minutes. When I finally got into the chair he left somewhere, I got up and left because I felt so disrespected. Incredibly frustrating, especially when an appointment is made. This is not a one time thing, this has happened many many times. The equipment is also incredibly dirty, dusty, and not cleaned ever. The table isn't even wiped down properly only brushed away with his hands. I understand the prices are very good for GelX in LA, but there's a reason for that, no standards for cleanliness at all. I'm lucky I haven't gotten an infection from this place because this is the dirtiest nail salon I've been to. Nothing is washed, everything is covered in other people nail dust/gunk, nothing is cleaned every, the equipment is not even in a cleaning solution. I'm surprised the board of cosmetology hasn't shut them down yet It sucks because I do like the work but it's not worth risking infection anymore or waiting and wasting my time. I've been coming to Nguyen since I moved LA 10 years ago. I've tried going other places and have NEVER been satisfied elsewhere. Nguyen is a perfectionist when it comes to shaping (I get compliments daily!) and his wife Kim is effortlessly great at everything, esp nail designs. I go to her and Miss Tee for pedicures as well. Tee does eyebrow waxing and gets them perfect every time! Not to mention the best prices in town. Yes you may wait a bit even with an appointment but they've been getting better with timeliness! I've gone to K Queens a handful of times for a pedicure! (which I love) but this time I got both pedicure and a manicure (gel) it's usually really busy there so I called in advance to make an appointment. I wanted square short nails That's Usually What I Get but when I told the guy who was doing my nails he said oval shape would look better with my hands. He told me at least 6 times, I said ok just do it! I really wanted French tip on my toes but again the guy said no we should just do all of it, ok just do it. The color is absolutely beautiful! But I just feel like on my toes my nails aren't cut straight. My hands I absolutely dislike. I usually go to someone else but she was all booked up & had no time to see me for a manicure.. again I love the color! He cut my skin & I was bleeding for a couple mins & he was still putting my hands under the UV light while I was bleeding... my right hand doesn't have the same amount of coats that the color is already fading. The side of my nails (nail fold) he didn't do a good job cutting it I have lose skin all over. Just all around not the best, I have such a hard time telling business no, I want this/ I don't like it. Just wow! I've been coming here for a while. The main guy is a jerk ! I don't even leave reviews but I'm in shock! I come here and always on time for appointments and always have to wait over my appointment time! I called to make a appointment this man told me I can't make a appointment because I take too long to choose a color and I don't have a color picked before I get there. I thought he was joking and laughing it off but he hung up on me and told me they are getting rid of clients costing them time and I can find a new place! The best gel nail design by far. These are my natural nails and I never thought they could look this good. Make sure to ask for Kim! She takes her time for sure to get the design right. Ask to speak with her when booking an appt to make sure she can book your visit with enough time. This design took about an hour. There is French tip,chrome gold stars, and gems added in. Her thin coats make such a difference in the long term quality of the gel. I added a photo with a blue background to show the one month mark. Aside from growth the gel still looks great. I usually have issues with the gel peeling. Not this time! I cannot wait to return! Side note: I did have to wait with an appt for 20 min to start. I would have waited longer since I know the quality is there. Be patient if you can! They are busy for a reason. read more

It's really hit or miss here . I have been here a few times now and my nails have gotten very thin And brittle as they insist on using the electric file . I asked the man not to and he insisted saying it's very gentle ... sure They didn't even wipe away all the dust from the person before me so I had to do it . They seem to ah e about 4 full time nail tech. They are all nice and professional. I had a regular mani & pedi for $30. They prefer you pay in cash. I don't like to get manicures because I've had experiences in which the tech cuts me causing me to bleed. Kim did my manicure and was very gentle. Terrible experience I just came in here before Labor Day for a fill on my nails and the older man doing my nails tore up my cuticle and painted over little dust and marks and I have a nude color so it is very noticeable and I was very disappointed in how they came out despite that I left and called back asking for them to schedule me in whenever they have time because I knew they were busy and they were rude. The other man said I was wasting his time. I had a horribly traumatizing experience here today. I came in for a gel x fill & gel pedi. Things seemed to be fine, no wait at the time I got there. When my nails were finishing up, I realized there was a large 1" long piece of black hair (maybe from the nail brush) stuck underneath the polish on my nail. When I mentioned it to the man doing my nails, he said he didn't notice it and it's stuck under the nail but he said it's no big deal I shouldn't worry about it. I told him it's bothering me and he started gaslighting me telling me nobody will notice "ask anyone it's not a big deal". Well I am the customer and I am paying and it bothered me a lot!! I asked him if he could fix it or re do the nail and he said absolutely not!! He was so angry. He said "his job is perfect" "i am over reacting" and "i am the worst customer he's ever had". sorry for not wanting a piece of hair in my nail???? when i have a photo shoot coming up which is why i got my nails done.... i asked if he could please fix it and he said im ridiculous because it will take 20-30 min and he didn't want to. he kept yelling at me to the point of me crying and he wouldn't stop yelling and berating me. it was horrible!!! i then noticed a second hair stuck under the same nail and he tried to gaslight me again telling me nothings there it's "just a bad brush stroke" and "if he fixes it, it will look nasty". i was so upset. i'm paying for these nails and he won't do it to my satisfaction he just kept yelling and calling me names. i walked out of this salon in tears.... i came for a relaxing spa experience but instead got yelled at by an angry male salon owner... i will never come back to this horrible salon. they are evil, rude and so so mean!!!! what a shame... the customer is always right and i'm the one paying so you should do it to my satisfaction. he said if i want him to fix it he will charge me $15. how are you going to charge me $15 to fix a mistake you made??? please do better and use this as a lesson for next time. treat your customers with respect and kindness, don't gaslight them and just fix the simple issue!! don't come here unless you have a kink for being yelled at by men!!! never again!!! read more

It was my first visit today and I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of my nails. It's located in a plaza so parking should not be an issue. The decor is humble but the people seem sweet which makes up for that. I got there around 12:15pm on a Friday and they had one other customer there. They did not have any of those fancy pedicure chairs but is compensated by the cheap prices. Winn did my nails and he did a great job and was friendly. I got a gel manicure with a design and was charged $33. My main reason for giving 5 stars was the fact that he handled my nails gently and carefully without being too hasty with the filing or cutting of the cuticles. This was the worst service I have ever received. These people were extremely rude and unwilling to provide quality customer service. I went in for a regular fill and one nail fix. the man was squeezing my finger and super rough. I gently smiled and asked him to ease up a little. IT ONLY GOT WORSE. I was watching him clump on more and more acrylic to my nail. I didn't say anything because I figured he was going to fix it later. He then started to shape it as if he was going to leave my nail clumpy. I asked if he could please file it down so that it looked like the others. He started yelling in vietnamese to his colleague, who then walked over and said "What's the problem!" I said I'd like this nail to be fixed please.
