The highly anticipated Ktown bbq in the Beaverton location is finally here and it all came with disappointments. I had high expectations for this place, since I been going to the Portland location, which was great. I came here for a vibe and there was no loud kpop videos being played. Just blank screens. First I wanted to start off with how bad the service was. I asked for a steam egg and it never came, i had to ask for it literally five times. It finally came out the fifth round of meats, at that time I didn't want it anymore. The meats were delicious, very well marinated. Only reason why I didn't give him two stars because the flavor of the meat was actually decent. The portions coming out for two people was ridiculous, it was very small and skimpy. Im not sure why they're so stingy with the portions. If you look at the photo I provided. That's how much they brought out at a time. Me and my friend was able to eat it in minutes, and they take forever to ask if we wanted more! and by that time the grill is all burnt. We had several grill changes, which was nice. I remember the Portland location would bring out a lot of meats the first few round, and as the rounds keep coming the portions would get smaller. Which makes absolutely great sense to do. I was thinking to myself I will be here all night if they keep bringing out these small portions at a time. We were able to get 6 rounds tonight and I was pretty stuffed. What was funny was when the waitress asked if We wanted anything else because our grilling time is almost up. But it's like, that wouldn't be an issue if they had bring a big lump sum of the meat. We wouldn't need 2 full hours to cook and would of been done by the 3rd Round. All in all I'd say the experience was okay. They are really slow and need to bring out more food at time, because that will get customers in and out quick. Oppose to having customers sitting there for hours cooking. I waited about one hour before I got sat down. Would I come here Again ? Maybe. They definitely need to work on their service. I understand they are understaffed and they're new and it's busy so I'll give them that, I will wait until the hype dies down. read more

Had a 21st birthday lunch at the Portland location. All you can eat is spendy, but the food was flavorful, you get to grill your own meats and veggies the way you want. Can order off the menu as well. Attentive staff will change the grill after every other round. The industrial basic decor was clean and airy. Overall, we did not mind spending more to cook our own meal as it made for a fun experience that everyone was able to participate in. Kudos! read more

This was my first time trying K-town since they opened. I love Korean bbq and usually go a couple times a month to King Kong since that was the only all you can eat in Beaverton for a long time. The meats here are really good, the curry chicken and spicy meats were our favorite but it's a little odd to have to order 4 separate meats each round. We probably would have only ordered two meats the second round if we could. The meat portions are also inconsistent depending on the meat you order - pork belly/galbi is one piece whereas the marinated meats are a pile of meat. Steamed egg is also limited to one which is unfortunate for an all you can eat. The restaurant itself is very clean and well ventilated and the service was great (granted, we were the only ones in there on a Monday afternoon). The banchan was just ok, the kimchi and radish kimchi were extremely salty and none of them really stood out. At about $5 more than king Kong, I'd probably go to King Kong because we like their sides better and there is more control over how much meat you can order. Also egg is unlimited and they have wrappers that my son enjoys. K-town is nice for the atmosphere and if you can handle eating four portions of meat each round. It would be a nice option if that amount varied depending on the size of the party eating. read more

This place is a scam. We were a big group (8 people) who all ordered all you can eat. At a price of 34.99 that is 280$. The 9th person is a 9 yo child who due a behavioral condition does not eat any of the items they sell. We get a soda for him and spends half of the time playing outside. We get charged full all you can eat fee because he sat at the table. Rules are predatory here, there is no sense of accommodations for families. With so many other Korean barbecue places in town please go somewhere else. read more

I sat down and my leg touched something wet and sticky under the table. I used the one napkin at the table and found so much disgusting dripping oil and old food hanging from underneath that would have wound up on my clothing if I didn't wipe it down. The service was inattentive but I don't blame them, it's obvious there's something dysfunctional going on with this place as a business and it seems like a terrible place to work. The seats were sticky, the silverware and cups were dirty. The ventilation was bad and I feel like I need to shower now. Not to mention it cost SEVENTY DOLLARS for two people, and so loud in there we couldn't even hear each other speak. I left afraid that I would become sick later. The food was not good at all. Anyways, it was cold outside and figured we'd give this place a try. It was cold and figured we get soup. This place impressed me! Very nice service. The soup came out PIPPING HOT! I got the dumpling soup. It was delicious! And they didnt skimp on the dumplings. I must have had at least 10 of those guys. Wow! I've been trying to find an AYCE anything in Beaverton and I was a bit hesitant about this place because of the reviews, but most of the complaints on here consist of the AYCE rules and the service. The AYCE rules are not that big of an issue considering I've been to places with much stricter rules. Don't over-order and make sure your group gets the same AYCE plan. The basic plan is 31.99 and the premium plan is 34.99, it really isn't an issue people... As for the service, it was hectic and I always try to give servers the benefit of the doubt considering most places are understaffed. Our waiter forgot us a few times because of all the people, but we kept ourselves entertained with sides and conversation. I felt that the food was really good, especially the steamed egg pot, my all-time favorite. I would recommend this place considering the location in Portland has an hour-plus wait and doesn't do reservations. TLDR: place is not bad, would def come back again, but don't go with more than 4people. The wait wasn't long, went on a weekday lunch time. The place was fairly packed still though. The rules were pretty standard and typical for any ayce place. I do agree with other reviews that the portions were a bit on the smaller side. The number of dishes you can order per round isn't much so I wouldn't recommend more than 4 people per table. One star less because even though our waitress was super nice, she often forgot about us or tongs/utensils. Traveling from Seattle to seaside, heading into Beverton and craving KBBQ. I definitely enjoyed this dishes and AYCE! I like the idea of ordering four at a time and at every round it has to be different meat. This allowed me try things I've never tried before. Second time coming to this location, old regulars of the first Portland location. They did not carry over the same rate of customer service. I really liked it. On a friday evening the wait staff was pretty busy but attentive and timely. There are rules [read them carefully please] for the AYCE but they are pretty fair (its a tough business; these people have to make money too). The tables are pretty sizable and the grills are changed every round by the staff. The appliances look pretty clean and new as well. Plenty of selection from basic beef and chicken to octopus. There are at least 32 dishes to try if you go for the premier AYCE. You have to cook it yourself but its super simple and actually kind of fun. I sliced 2 of my fingers on their chair, then ran to their Manager for assistance and he immediately shut me down and dismissed me. He said he was too busy to listen to me or assist me, so he shooed me off and called someone else to get my server. Did not even give me a chance to let him know I was trying to get first aid assistance not order anything. It was by far the worst service as our server stayed MIA for the majority of our time there. Then when she did show up, she took our order then forgot about it. Then they did the most devious thing I have ever witnessed at the end of such horrible service. I had 5 people on my ticket, but the server wanted gratuity even though she did not provide the service needed. So she changed my ticket to say 4 adults then 2 children so gratuity was auto calculated. And she charged my card before I even had a chance to address as I did not expect such deviance. Do not waste your time here. I spent almost $300 for crappy service and rudeness. Worst, worst wooorrrsssttt dining experience ever! Truly need better, more decent, more friendly, more organized, and more helpful staff. Only one gentleman offered me assistance for my first aid request. And thankfully he did not dismiss me though he was assisting another patron. As he took the time to hear what I needed then addressed it the best he could. My server was MIA, dishonest and ridiculous. The manager was a hot mess. And the chaos from the restaurant pulls away from your enjoyment of the meal. Would not recommend. Poor service, poor quality food, and they trick you into paying more. Our first portions were pretty small so we ordered seconds and the second portions were HUGE. They charge you $10 per plate of extra food. We were not able to come anywhere near to finishing so we piled it all on one plate and were charged and extra $10. We never had our water refilled once. We had to wait 20+ minutes for the check because we couldn't get any waiters attention. All in all our check was $78 or something for very poor quality greasy meats. This is a late review -- we came a few times when this place first opened. Super excited that they opened up in Beaverton, which is much closer to home. We LOVED the food, it has the same quality of protein/marinade to that of the pdx location. However, there were so many issues that we've encountered. First, it sometimes take them 40 min to get our first order. There's a 2 hours time limit for seating so waiting 40 min for an order and another 15 min for the food to come to the table is a big deal. This might be due to staffing issue and the fact this place recently opened at the time. The vent for the table next to the entrance is broken. It does nothing for the smoke so the smoke was strong to the point we were coughing. The soju drink isn't as good as the pdx location. This place has a stronger booze taste versus the fruity taste at pdx location. This might seem like a long rant but the food is yummy and hopefully the issues are fixed by now; hence, why I only deducted 1 star instead of more. read more

Then each "order" was a small plate with one strip of galbi, 4 tiny pieces of sambgyub.... Lol And each time we had look for our server, and took 20 + min to bring each order of meat ( there was one other table there so not busy in the least bit) Quite a scam. Tiny portions, increase wait time between rounds and cap each table at 2hrs. Btw our corn cheese tastes like a cup of salt. My go-to KBBQ is the K-Town location on 82nd, so I've been waiting and waiting for this place to open because this place is only 10 minutes away from my place and the one on 82nd is 45 minutes away. I was so excited to come here, though I'd heard from a friend that they got bad service- I assumed it was a one-time thing, maybe they were understaffed, etc. I think there's four main things to look for in a restaurant: Service, food quality, space/atmosphere, and price. Service: - Most of the servers were very curt; they would leave as soon as I relayed something we wanted to order while I was still talking - We didn't have plates or sauce dishes on the table, even after they brought out our meat and it was on the grill cooking - Asked for plates and sauce dishes; we were missing one plate, didn't get the sauce dishes - Asked again for sauce dishes, let them know we were missing a plate; they brought the extra plate and some sauce dishes, we were missing one sauce dish (lol) - Servers constantly forgot a lot of things we asked for (refills on rice, sides, sodas, extra vegetables), even after asking multiple times and ultimately did not get most of the things we asked for - When we would ask for another round of meat, the server would wordlessly put it on the table and walk away - There was one server that asked if we needed anything was actually attentive and brought what we requested Food: - cooked it ourselves obviously, it was great! - the sweet mashed potato side dish was sickly sweet and had a different texture; I'm assuming that it might have been made with the instant mashed potato stuff but other than that, banchan is banchan! - the mixed soju drinks were good; the sour apple one usually comes with gummy worms but didn't this time Space/atmosphere: - bathroom was clean - I don't know if they considered this but because of the size of the vent hoods, you can only see the bottom half of all the TVs Price: $31.99 each for AYCE, $3 sodas not refillable, gratuity included on the bill The only other upside was that it wasn't busy, so part of our group was seated early. We did AYCE and cooked the food ourselves so I feel that service and ingredient quality are the only things I can really review here, and I'm just so disappointed.
