KTown's 3rd location (also se 82nd and Vancouver) offers a rich variety of meats , soups, noodle dishes, barbecue options for table side grilling or order a la carte sizzling entrees from the kitchen. Beer selection is limited here. Try the lychee or mango Taiwanese beer. But of course drink the soju (those magical green bottles) that leave you in a daze of good memories. Another AYCE Korean BBQ in Beaverton. Was excited to check the place out. First impression, very clean and spacious because it had been open for just a few days. Booths were good for a party of 6. It appeared to be well staffed for a new establishment. Servers were very nice and checked on us throughout the meal. We did the AYCE option. Be aware, there are LOTS of rules to follow. You cannot double up on the meat option and have to pick 4 different meats. You cannot pick just 1, 2, or 3... there is a 2 hour time limit and they are on the dot with timing your party. However, it did take awhile to get the second and third rounds to get to the table. So there was quite a bit of downtime waiting for more meat. The amount of meats that came with the order was inconsistent. By the 4th round, we only had 2 slices of pork belly and 1 piece of galbi for a party of 5 adults. We did not leave satisfied or entirely stuffed. Meat quality was what you would expect from AYCE but given AYCE, you would expect to get more volume to make up for the l quality. On a brighter note, the soju cocktail was good. Overall, the experience was disappointing. Maybe it's due to the kinks of a new establishment with new staffing and kitchen staff. Bad service, expensive, bad tasting food. The foster and Vancouver locations are 1000x better than this one!!! Don't eat at this place, you'll regret it, plus the utensils are not washed at all! Takes forever to get your food! Short staffed, the sodas were flat. Salty food!!! Can't leave no food at all, otherwise get charged for it. They have a 2 hour limit, we only got two rounds and it took us almost two hours, because they were dragging their feet to bring anything over. You spend more time waiting than eating. They messed up on my bill, had to pay $72 for just two AYCE and two sodas! The refills are supposed to be free but ended paying for one more refill!!! The portions are super small!!! Large, very spacious and clean. Went with the " all you can eat" so I could try several menus items. Like other reviewers, they are slow in getting the food out as service was quite minimal albeit with a smile. The meats were okay - chicken was fatty, ribs were lean and beef was a gobbledygook of road kill. . Okay okay it just looked strange though. So, try it and you may like it better - but for me it was expensive for what you get and I wasn't impressed with the need to rush back anytime soon. read more

I wanted Analise the blonde Filipina girl to be our waitress, but we got this jerk guy with the blonde spiked hair. He kept forgetting our sauces and my salad that he said he would make. They need professional polite waitresses or waitress to explain the menu better, especially to my Business partner and I, with our first time to a Korean BBQ Restuarant. My chair was as hard as a rock, so uncomfortable. Your tables in the booths need to be able to be moved, when you have a big guy with their smaller female partner. The tables are stuck in place. I really wanted to like this place but truth be told, it wasn't great. Nor was it even good for that matter. Well, if you've never had kbbq before, I can see a person liking it but if you're like me who is from Hawaii and LA where there's Korean joints galore, this place is a big let down. First off, the place is kept up well. It's clean and the service is fairly good, but it all ends there. The meat quality isn't that good. Every selection of meat is pre-frozen and marinated in an overly sweet marinade geared toward the American palate. If you're Korean as I am, you will think everything was waaayyy too sweet. Now here's the kicker! It's an AYCE but you're forced to make 4 meat selections with every order so you fill up on junk. I specifically go to AYCE's to eat LA galbi and chadeolbaegi and that's it. I kid you not when I say they literally give you ONE galbi rib and like 3 ounces of chadeolbaegi with every order. You have to select two more options of chicken, pork, or whatever before you can get another SINGLE galbi?! I've never seen this before in my life and I grew up on Korean food. So imagine if you have two or three people dining and you all have to split one rib with each passing round LMFAO This was a complete joke and I didn't know if should find it hilarious or if I should be upset. I chose the former. The reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the service was good and the place was clean. Would I ever return? My boyfriend and I came to eat here since we saw it wasn't as busy as it always is. The food I would say would be 8/10! I would rate it a little higher but the rice tasted kind of old, I didn't want to be that person and complain so I still ate it. Our server was nice, he maybe checked on us twice but we were waiting for a refill for a while. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant! I loved the music videos that were playing while we were eating, especially when I'm wanting to updated my music list. First time here and I'm really impressed. AYCE lunch on a Sunday. We also got the peach soju cocktail and the lychee soju cocktail. We ate the LA Galbi, Bulgogi (spicy and mild), Chadol, Samgyupsal (Thin sliced, regular, and red wine marinated), Maeun chicken, and garlic chicken. The LA Galbi was a favorite at our table. Food was good as usual but the service was not great. Taking our order was so complicated for the server despite us already being in agreement of what the whole table was getting. The server seemed lost and confused, we had to constantly try and get everyone's attention whenever we needed something as simple as forks or napkins. The share size soju came in a mason jar w/ four shot glasses on the side, how are we supposed to pour shots? We tried getting someone's attention to get a jug or something but again no one cares unless your card is on the table for payment. Ended up having to dump water out of the water jug and use that for soju to avoid a mess. Went there on a Saturday night and was greeted by Blake who got a table ready and seated us in jiffy. He was very attentive and personable and struck up conversations with us as if he knew us for years. Definitely an asset to the restaurant! The food was delicious as usual. Let me start by saying K-Town is the best KBBQ in town. Best bang for your buck, food is always top notch. We always would go to the Portland location, Seth the manager (guy with all tattoos) is awesome always took care of us and the big work parties we would bring. Now... Beaverton location opened, we were happy a closer location to home. We had family in town from out of state and wanted to give them the best KBBQ experience. We showed up with a party of 15, they split us into two tables which was great! Service has been a bit hit or miss here since they opened. Lots of new staff, lots of people getting trained. Understandable. Everything went great outside a bit of slow service with only 1 waiter for party of 15 is a bit crazy but it happens. The food was great as always... the trouble happens at checkout... with a party of 15 we knew splitting checks would be a nightmare. So we thought splitting it 4 ways would be easy. 2 split for each table.. that sounds pretty easy... for the lady assisting us at checkout area.. it was not... very rude looks.. rolling eyes.. and obviously not very helpful for the $400 they just made... we paid the 18% gratitude plus additional $60 cash tip... I will say the gentlemen stepped in as he could see we were not happy with how she was handling the situation. Ended up just paying everything on my card for the 2nd table as it was apparent the issues of splitting the check 2 ways from the first table had really been difficult math. Again, we will still come here as a family, but will not return with a party of 6 or more. Their brains will turn to mush if they have to do any math. And the young blonde lady with 444 tattoo on your neck, working in a restaurant is tough we all understand that. Inconsistent with meat portions- first time ordered LA galbi and spicy pork with some other things - and got ONE piece of galbi with soooo much pork. 2nd round actually did get two pieces of galbi. Newer location, so everything is really clean and the staff were pretty friendly. We went on a Tuesday afternoon so it wasn't very busy either but definitely more than we expected. For AYCE their menu is pretty extensive. They have a bunch of rules that you have to follow. The hardest is having to order 4 meats at a time especially if it's for a smaller party. I felt the portions were decent but I could see how they would feel a little smaller if you came with a bigger party. The quality of meat is decent for the price that you're paying. Don't expect any of the thinly shaved samgyupsal or galbi. That being said the flavors for their marinade are pretty great. I enjoyed most of their garlic, miso, teriyaki, gochujang. read more

When we got the menu, the waiter demanded our orders even though we clearly didn't have time to look it over. We asked for no rice but he said he needed a "number" and kept asking until we gave the number of people who wanted rice. He said he was surprised that we didn't want rice since we were asian. After we finished eating he came by and asked if we wanted something else. Then he got a phone call and answered it instead of giving us the bill. We had to flag him down to get the check. The food for the price at an all you can eat buffet was great. Come with at least a group of 3 and try lots of different things. They don't really have lettuce for ssam but you can get their salad and ask for it to not have dressing. The lettuce is big enough pieces to still work. The thin sliced pork is too thin just go for the regular pork belly. The spicy pork isn't really spicy and doesn't have a lot of flavor. The LA Galbi is probably my favorite. read more

This was my first time visiting a place like this and for my first experience, I had a lot of fun. On initial glance, everything seemed a bit expensive so that was a bit of a turn off but we went with the all you can eat and took huge advantage of that. The meat was pretty decent, the bulgogi and most meat other meats I tried were seasoned well but a lot were actually pretty sweet. I don't know if it's a Korean meat type thing to make it more sweet but it was not my favorite. The service was great for us; drinks were full up quick, new food was brought to the table, and we asked for a lot and were serviced well. The vibe was cool: the dim lighting and fancy, new looking interior is pretty cool. The grills in the tables are nice as well and were even replaced when growing heavily charred. Overall, it's a pretty cool place but expensive with lots of meat I found to be too sweet or just bland. My early four stars is simply based on my customer service experience with the staff and manager at the Beaverton location. Food was good and NO price gauging here...!!!!! Unfortunately minimum for AYCE is two so my Han Solo first visit was a little disappointing but more train to go back again? Good kimchi which is a great sign and Kalbi was tender, not too sweet or overly marinated!! Definitely recommend and hoping to return to try the AYCE!!! The 3 star average is here is spot on. The service, while friendly, was definitely lacking. Memo to management.- just because you can fill all of those tables, doesn't mean you should. Especially at the cost of service. I would rather have waited longer for a table that that was serviced by a waitress who wasn't overworked. Their ayce policy has been covered here ad nauseam so I won't go there (and I don't have any strong objections to it) but I will say that KTown has a responsibility to hold up their end of the deal: After our third (skimpy) course, we were approached about our 4th. We weren't ready at that moment to put in for our 4th so we asked the waitress to come back. SHE NEVER RETURNED. Not only did she not return for our order, but we literally got up and paid at the counter because we were left waiting at our table with no food. Paying at the counter? What is this, Denny's?? Also, the ventilation system is weak. We were smoked out the whole time. And the place is LOUD. Without sounding like an old timer - I seriously could not hear the conversation from across the table. You can be lively and vibing and not be too loud at the same time. And lastly, we hand one grill changeout. The waitress then poured water over the grill - which then ended Ed up dripping on my pant legs under the table - WTF?!?!?! Oh one more thing, the banchan was MEH. Sad kimchi and other dishes were weak. Too back. Also, having banchan at your table waiting for your before your seat is off putting. First off, anyone who has ever eaten at a "all you can eat" knows it doesn't mean you can eat anything you want, as much as you want.. so I don't even want to hear whining about the rules. Get out more. The meat was just fine, no issues, serving sizes were fair, and well, let me just tell you.. if you think it's expensive.. you've never eaten in NYC, LA or SF. Of course the Bulgobi was typical, no surprise, and sliced very very thin. I could have been alittle bit thicker, but hey, it's no big deal. The staff seemed totally clueless about who was waiting on which table, because 4 people asked us, one right after the next, if we were ready to order again. One of the worst Korean BBQ Their tricks make customers angry. The first two or three times, they bring it right after ordering, but after that, they deliberately bring it 15 to 20 minutes later. Servers and cooks make excuses for being busy, but in fact, they are false. They intentionally take the time to induce people not to eat fully. They do know that once it stops eating then you would feel full so that you can't eat anymore. Even after waiting such a long time, they take the wrong order and take more time. When several people order ribs at one table, only two pieces are brought at the beginning, and only one piece is brought after that. The most expensive menu usually includes beef-belly, but this house doesn't have that either. The anti-slaughter state is just a lump of scaffolding. The state of trimming the giblets is a mess. A person who has never been to a Korean barbecue restaurant like this can say that it is good without knowing the intention of the owner of this restaurant, but a restaurant that tries to deceive customers and make money in this way must be ruined. No ventilation at all. At first glance, a large fan is installed on each table, but it is only for decoration and does not work properly, so the smoke goes into your eyes and nose while grilling meat, which is painful. I've been to all the Korean BBQ restaurants in Vancouver near Portland, but they all do this kind of bad business. There is only one place that does business conscientiously. But I won't tell you where in this review. I will never go to this Korean BBQ restaurant ever again. read more

Food: Normal, just like any other kbbq restaurant Ambiance: Average. Very metallic overall feel. Very nice Kpop vibe and music in the background. Service: Would have been a -4 but the manager seem to have understood the issue and resolved it. Long story short, my table went through two waiters who pretended we were invisible. We left after our 2nd round of food waiting for a 3rd round that never came while every other table seem to not have issues getting theirs. To add to the fire, we were charged full price for half the experience plus a "mandatory tip" which was "impossible to take off the check". Yep, I made sure that tip was taken off, thanks to the manager. Very unlucky to have two not so good waiters in a row. For that waiter who was nice enough to get us 2 rounds. Had a 21st birthday lunch at the Portland location. All you can eat is spendy, but the food was flavorful, you get to grill your own meats and veggies the way you want. Can order off the menu as well. Attentive staff will change the grill after every other round. The industrial basic decor was clean and airy. Overall, we did not mind spending more to cook our own meal as it made for a fun experience that everyone was able to participate in. Kudos! read more

I am from LA so we have a lot of options as far as kbbq goes. I went to portland this past week and visited k-town bbq 10/6 to try something new. I wanted to go over my overall experience. Pros: nice place, meat quality really good so of course the food was all good except for the rice cakes they were so hard just eating them made my brain hurt. Cons: too many rules a whole page full of rules as you open the menu on the first page. and for what?? One of them was apparently you can NOT order the same meat option more than once unless it is your last round but HAD to choose 4 options every round. For myself this wasn't very convenient at all because i only strictly eat brisket. Hearing this had me upset because it's about $35/ per person and I'm only paying for myself to only potentially only have 2 plates. I told the waitress that's fine assuming the portions would be full plates as i only usually order 2 plates of brisket at a usual kbbq spot. To my surprise when receiving our meat because mind you my bf as well ordered his meat choices all 4 meat selections we chose came out on one plate i was very disappointed i thought they would at least be full plates of meat as they are in LA. As soon as i got my order i regretted telling the waitress it would be my first/last round because i knew i was not going to get full with just the portions they gave. That is something that should be told as we are ordering. I spoke to a waiter and told him i only ate brisket and he understood and thankfully let me order more brisket but again half plates of these meat choices. Also i was never asked if i wanted a refill on my drink the whole time i was there. So that was a bummer. To conclude. Would i recommend? If you eat more than just brisket, of course.
