My family of 7 tried to go in. The website said they were open and Google map said they were open. We drove a hour and a half just to be turned around at the door because of a party with no remorse of us and the others who were walking in the door. to say i'm disappointed in this establishments management is an understatement. My family and I went out this weekend for a night out which we don't do often so everyone was very excited. We got all set up and were waiting to race, while waiting another party (also waiting) had been continuously looking at my underage daughter like he could see right through her clothes. I asked her to stand behind her uncle as an attempt to defuse the situation and not cause any issues but still this did not help, my son had noticed and asked them to kindly stop looking at her inappropriately, his request was met with a snarky reply so we left it alone. Once we got on the track (with the same group of men) our race was stopped multiple times dude to them driving very very dangerously, and not listening to the attendants multiple warnings, inevitably this caused an accident with my brother who has ptsd and a many health issues from his time in service. We asked the cart attendants if we could race separately from them as they were not practicing safe driving measures, he agreed that what they had done was not safe and allowed us to race separately again it was left at that. A few minutes later a manager approached myself and my brother saying we were being "discriminatory" towards this party and we needed to leave. She was very rude about the whole interaction, when we tried to explain to her what actually happened she got even more upset, raising her voice, accusing all of us of being "racist" and "discriminatory" This groups actions had nothing to do with their race, it was pure ignorance. read more

It was fun but we put 2 races and we said for just us to be in the race and they put another person who actually knew how to drive. Aside from that we had to wait a hour for the first race then another hour for the second race. Also that person who actually knew how to drive the go karts they crashed into me and their cart went on top of mine. Wouldn't recommend and I'm never going there again read more

Basically, if you want to pay the money then you should go, it's fun. My fiancé and I stopped here and we did two races together. The girl at the front desk was nice and helpful. When we went back to the racing area, the guys that work there were basically all on their phones and I had to ask for their attention instead of them offering. But once they were engaged they were nice too. The track itself was fun, the cars go decently fast and the race lasts a while. However it cost us $120. For two races each. We did it because we're visiting from out of town and it was something to do, but won't go back again for that price. We had to stop and switch karts in the middle of the race because my fiancés wouldn't go fast, and in the second race is helmet broke. So that was inconvenient for two races that cost us $120. Place had a lot of pool tables and an ok arcade. If you have money and you're bored, worth going. If not, probably can find better to do. read more

This place was very expensive. $206 for 6 kids to race once. They require you to purchase a membership for $8 per person in addition to the cost of the race. We were visiting from out of state so this is useless to us. Also, the wait between races is a trap to get you to spend more money on games while you wait. The token machine ripped us off. The pool table ripped us off. Trying to get reimbursed was a hassle. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the kids had a good time during the race. We won't do this again. read more

Two friends and I went to K1 earlier today. We were paired with a couple on our first race who were racing slower than us so we passed them a few times while racing. After the race, the guy we were racing with tackled me on the concrete track after exiting the karts, entirely unprovoked, and broke my helmet's facemask in half. Thankfully I still had my helmet on when he tackled me. He was then escorted off the track and kicked out. He said the reason for tackling me was that he was bumped during the race and was upset about it. After conversations with the manager and the track operator, we were not given apologies for the completely inappropriate actions of the man who assaulted me and in fact, told that it was due to our actions on the track that I was assaulted. In the words of the manager, it was "cause and effect" that led to the tackle. It wasn't until speaking with the regional manager that I got an apology. At no point were we offered a refund, which is all the follow-up action that we were hoping for, as we didn't want to continue racing after this incident. read more

I'm not saying this place encourages drinking and driving but they certainly don't discourage it. There were several patrons on the racing floor with alcoholic beverages. Very disappointed in my experience here overall. We arrived at approx 330pm and were told it would be an hour and a half wait. Fine, we don't have plans so it's not a big deal. 2 hours later, still no race. After 3 hours we only raced once so we left without finishing the races we purchased. Celebrating the little man and his 12th birthday here with one of his buddies. So. Much. Fun. It's high speed go karting... the cars will go as fast as 45 mph. But I never really felt a sense of danger. Of course it helps that the boys I took are fearless. And... you get helmets. The staff is super kind and will take the time to explain what all the flags mean and they'll make sure the kids are tall enough to reach the pedals as they should. At the end you get a print out of your times and how you placed in your "race". Lucas left saying... go karting will never be the same again. Winning. =] You do have to have a membership which is a small extra charge - like 8 bucks. Overall they are not cheap. You do have to wear a head sock. Be prepared. They are not cute. Or you could bring your own helmet. There are height guidelines so the smaller kids will be on a different track. The bathrooms are clean. Go. Spend a little money and have a great time. read more

If you can actually race, the place is fun. Karts go fast and we had a good time when we went one time in the summer. However, we went last night around 6:00 and the place was rented out privately from 4:00-8:00. They told us to come back at 8. So we did, we walked in at 8:03. There was only a couple people in line in front of us and they told us it would be a 2 hour wait!! How does that even happen??! We were told they don't take reservations, so I'm very confused. And disappointed that my nephew couldn't race on his 16th birthday. We even told them we would split up and race individually and it was still a 2 hour wait. How does one family in front of us in line when they opened amount to having to wait so long?? read more

Attending the juniors racing club and face masks use was not adhered to. Announcements were made over the loudspeakers but no staff ensured compliance. Many parents and adult bystanders were without masks. I would expect the management to be more responsible to keep all guests safe. So irresponsible by the adults attending and shame on K1 for allowing it. read more

This is the best place to bring your aspiring F1 driver. The facility was clean, virtually had no wait time to race, and the staff really makes this place a fun place to go. Isaiah, Fabian, & Donate really made my family experience memorable. They took the time to show my wife and myself on which helmets would be best for us to use since we have locks, disciplined drivers not following the rules. I can't wait to come back; hopefully I can convince my company to have a corporate meeting here. read more

I am writing to reflect the disappointing experience we had yesterday. We had scheduled a 6pm birthday party for my teenage son and had to wait an hour and a half before our group even got on the track. We were not the only angry customers there last night. There appeared to be no organization to how groups were getting on the track and there was a lot time where neither track was being used. There is no reason why both tracks could not be running at the same time for the evening to run smoothly. It is very obvious that this location is horribly understaffed. Only one person knew what was going on, Isiah. That poor man had to give the safety instructions, run both tracks, and manage guests. Though he did this calmly, it was too much work for one person. When I did complain to the front desk that they needed more help in the back, the people they sent back there had no idea what was going on. For this location to stay in business, there needs to be more trained staff members running the track and better organization overall. read more

Worst experience ever. Went to K1 thinking it was still accelerate, found out about the change and was open to it. The K1 GoKarts my party of 4 drove in during all 3 of our races were shaking, when we grabbed food we waited 8+ minutes for our DRINKS that were sitting on the counter, the only reason we got our drinks was because I got up and grabbed them off the bar. When speaking to staff members about the GoKarts, they didn't seem to care whatsoever that they are putting people in danger, and when speaking to the shift manager, Bradley, he also didn't seem to care about the way his staff were acting, playing around in the side room, in line of our table upstairs. After complaining to the manager about the service, Bradley walked over to our server spoke to her for about 3 seconds then nothing was said to us. finishing our 3rd race after dinner the manager, Bradley, was downstairs watching our group as we got ready to leave. We had a good time, however i would highly recommend training your staff in proper customer service. As a customer service member myself i would never treat a PAYING CUSTOMER the way my group was treated. read more

Manager was the rudest person I've ever encountered. Denied party of twelve a RESERVED room that was already paid for a birthday party. For a cost of $1000+, this was unacceptable. He refused to honor the reservation, even though a room was available, and refused to even compromise. When asked if some tables could simply be pushed together so that we could sit together, he acted like that wasn't possible, and wanted to force the party to split up and sit at dirty tables. This is not a good place to go. We waited over 2 hours to go on to the track we were promised to go on. When they called our name to go out in the track. They claimed that we had to go on the other track and the people that came after us went on the track we were supposed to go on. The manager came out and claimed that we wait another 30 minutes or go home. He didn't try to make his customer satisfied. The managers name was Adolfo. While we were waiting a kid almost ran over by someone else and the manager didn't even bother look up and do something about it. read more

I was here in July with my kids and husband. Was very disappointed with the staff at this K1 Speed location in Addison. The teenagers at the front desk are clueless as to what is going on and they would constantly give us wrong information. I asked if it was ok to bring food into the place and she said yes it's ok. This was after we had waited to be served at the dining area but no one ever came to take our order. So we were told we had to order at the bar. The people working at the bar were unfriendly and rude. So that's why we wanted to go grab McDonald's instead. So we brought our food into the place and were immediately stopped. Anyway we left to eat our food in the car and came back inside to wait for our turn to drive. My kids weren't happy with their race because they were put in a group with only 4 riders. Took the kids for a birthday celebration - overall, it was a lot of fun for them and looked fairly safe. The prices were on the high side of things so be on the lookout for groupons! The races are about 5 minutes and they can see their speed and average lap times after the race in a nice printout that is sent to email. Because we had a group of kids, they were able to run the smaller track without a wait but could see that being a bore if you had to wait for a few kids to come to race. read more

I visited for the first time with my two sons 11 & 14. The Karts go very fast and it is more appropriate for adult & teen fun. The adult track was a little overwhelming for my 11 year old even though he easily exceeded the height requirement. My 14 year old and I had a great time and we were able to slide around the curves and compete well. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly. We purchased three of the $50 packages which included a license, helmet liner, t-shirt and 2 races. They do have a kids track which I recommend for 12 & below. The sports bar is also nice and the servers were very friendly. Don't let the rough outside appearance & weeds discourage you from visiting. read more

We are a national marketing agency specializing in the IT sector. As Senior Creative Director, I was responsible for managing a two-city event for a national IT solution provider and we selected K-1 Speed in Addison, IL and a newly acquired location in Horsham, PA. Both events were deeply flawed and disappointing on so many levels. First, the "corporate event planning" is done out of a headquarters location in Calfornia, so you are not really dealing with the venue itself until you show up on the day of the event. As a result, there was very poor communication/coordination and it was clear that neither location was equipped to handle professional, corporate events. In Addison, we asked to get into our reserved space to set up a half hour in advance. The doors were locked when we got there at 11:30 a.m. and remained locked (despite us banging on the door, trying to call- no answer) until 12:03 p.m. when our registered guests were already beginning to arrive. The room wasn't ready; the staff was pretty much clueless and in the middle of trying to scramble to get someone to get the AV in the room to function, I was presented with an invoice which indicated a total of 30 guests @ $90. While that was originally the number of guests we registered, I had notified the corporate event contact that our list was down to 20 about 10 days in advance. Rather than argue with the 20-something cashier, I signed the CC receipt and decided to confirm my communication with them and take the matter up with the corporate planner (who was my only point of contact up to that point). Long story short, despite having written evidence (and acknowledgement from the corporate planner) that I had lower the count to 20 in more than enough time, the venue REFUSED to refund me the $900 I was owed (extra 10 guests @ $90). Numerous emails, phone calls, DMs on social media. Nothing. Clearly a highly unprofessional and I would suggest, unethical business that should NOT be handling corporate events. read more

Haven't gokarted in years since I owned one..I also drive a sports car so that helps...Everyone that worked there was friendly and helpful...was impressed with the speed of the karts and curvy track..One gokart had slicks so it was fun drifting around the track on sharp turns..Loved it and will definitely be back..Expensive but still fun. We were there for a bachelor party and walkins so we didn't get to drive until about 1.5 hours after we arrived..No big deal really One complaint though..the pool tables in the game room are garbage...One wouldn't take tokens and the front desk staff said they couldn't help..the other table had pockets that were falling apart...also only six cues total and three were broken (no tips or the bases were broken so useless) and all six of them were horribly warped..Arcade games were old and very few in the game room. Stick with the gokarts if you go and skip the "game.room" Edited..the owner contacted me and advised me that they are fixing the pool tables and sticks immediately...well done read more

Ridiculous. This is my 3rd time here, first time they said my son was too short to ride after 6 pm, he stood in front of the minimum height and was the same as the line. Lady at front counter said corporate actually says the line is above the minimum mark, "sorry". Second time we came in, they said "3 hour wait" This third time we came in early, they said 1.5 hours. After an 80 mins we asked where we were in line. They said an hour and a half. 3 hours after arriving we got our first race. I asked for a refund on our last 2 races. They said because it was a package, there was no refund and we'd have to wait. Block out an entire Sat if you want a couple of races read more

NO! Bad K1, bad! When you walk in, you'll be forced to register, which means forking over your name, address, phone number, and all manner of personal info. You'll get no help from the unfriendly staff. They've clearly explained this a million times to everyone but you, so they'll be extra frustrated by your perfectly reasonable questions. Prices are insane, the rules are insane, and no one is there to be helpful. Safety gear is ridiculous. Be prepared to wear a sock on your head and a full-on racing helmet. What? Am I going to roll my kart over the side of the track at a thousand miles per hour? Come on, strap a bike helmet on me and tell me to have fun like the old days. The Karts were fun for a while, but people get way too competitive. Still, I started enjoying myself as I took turns at full speed, Tokyo drifting like a real action movie star. Yeah! Until they held up a sign that said "No Drifting". And thus the fun ended. All in all, a stressful racing experience. Afterwards we checked out the arcade. One overpriced videogame, one overpriced air hockey table, a basketball game (what's the point?), and one out-of-order prize machine that kept putting out a steady, high-pitched siren noise. Why not just unplugg the machine if it's not working? We decided to go to the bar to de-stress from the whole experience. When we asked if we could pay with gift cards, the bartender said no because he would have to walk all the way (100 feet) to the other register to ring us up. Laziest, most unhelpful, unfriendly staff I've ever experienced at a facility that, for the most part, caters to families and children. Boo, K1. Shame on you. read more

I received gift cards for K1 Speed around Christmas, so I was hoping to have a great time racing against my boyfriend at this location since we've been waiting a while to do so (built up anticipation, I LOVE racing and cars, and we finally BOTH had the time and energy to go!) Here are the main things that stuck out in my brain the most... and they're not positive: - Non-helpful front desk staff - I felt rushed by the track staff, which frustrated me right before racing (they also spoke very quickly and too quietly) - OVER PRICED!!! - The actual racing was WAYYYY TOO COMPETITIVE!!! (adult race) - The "game room" had broken machines, they only took cash/coins, and there are no ATMs (at least that I could find) - The Whirly Ball courts were completely empty... this made me sad - And last but not least, neither of the on-duty bartenders were willing to walk to the counter on the other side of the building to cash out my gift cards for drinks. We didn't want a LAZY bar tender... and if neither of them weren't willing to do something that simple, then I for sure wasn't willing to cash out my gift cards myself for their lazy service, either! I guess there are some good things about this place, but man, I was NOT expecting such a low quality staff. The best part is that the actual go-karts handled like a dream, and they were fun to drive. However, another thing I mentioned above that I didn't expect before coming here was that all of the other (adult) racers which I raced with were far too competitive! I had to move over to the right side of the track about every other lap - AND SLOW DOWN for other racers! (K1 Speed's rules, not mine.) Any ways, this just stressed me out and sucked the fun right out of it. If I could race here again, I'd ask if I could only race with my friends so it wasn't as competitive/stressful... or the children... they're usually slower than adults. I'm not sure how to rate this place. And I'm not sure if I want to return. ...Now I have to figure out what to do with the rest of these gift cards. Went to a close by dave and busters and was treated disrespectfully so opted to give this place a go. Walked in and made reservations at front desk after checking in to race and ordered food & drinks while waiting. Our wait was short so I told one of the managers Miguel if he could accomodate me while we did our quick races and wait until we returned to bring out the food. He went out his way and upon my return he immediately saw me and walked in the kitchen and to my surprise was delivered great hot and ready meals. Thanks for the great hospitality!!! Before I comment on the racing my son and waited 90 minutes to race even though it was not crowded. Many people who arrived after us raced before us. Apparently out race time was moved twice without anyone telling us. Customer service seriously lacking. For the racing, it was fine. Carts are fast but we had two slow people in our group that slowed everyone else down. For $50 for one race for two people and a 90 minute wait, just not worth it at all. read more
