The employees, The maintenance, the wait times, and objectively the Torrance track is better. If you can't go to the Torrance k1, just avoid k1 I have went to both a few times each, I only discovered the Torrance one because I was nearby and had 3 hours to burn on a Saturday. hello to all customers, I believe this place its A joke, last night hours closing at 10,pm and we arrived at 7 pm waited in line to Sign waiver and after we did basically waited 25 minutes so we can pay for the 2 race pckg they told us it was sold out ,I couldn't wrap my head with her respond ,,,,,race sold out ,,, we drove 40 minutes to get to Burbank 25 minutes inside waiting and not a single staff member informed us with any of the nonsense ,,,,race sold out at 725 pm and we are inside at 7 pm ,,,,now tell me this is not A joke ,beside the lady who's helping us acted completely like a robot ,as Im posting my review I see much more customers post off with identical case like us who is the owners of this crapy place.two hours and half till close time unbelievable ,jujdam . read more

Incredibly inefficiently organized for smaller parties than 6 or 8. There is a party minimum to reserve something in advance. For smaller parties its a walk in basis only. Thats frustrating because during the weekends it can be a 3 hour wait for a silly race that might take less than 10 minutes. This is ridiculous. read more

This place is not safe for kids. We have been to this and other race tracks before and I haven't experienced what I did toI get that there are risks but when grown men slam 10 year olds into walls at full speed on purpose that's totally unacceptable and management did nothing. We took my son and his friends to have a fun afternoon out. The first ride out these 3 douche bag men sideswiped my 10 year old so he couldn't turn as the other slammed him into the wall at full speed! My son hurt his neck and couldn't ride anymore. Upon speaking to management and the people running the track, none of them knew what to do and didn't do anything. We sat on the sidelines and watch these idiots continue to hit kids. Management let them continue to race. All of our kids stopped because they didn't feel safe. Interesting we would have done a school party here but won't now. Would think that business alone would have been worth more to have held those guys accountable. Not worth the risk of injury. read more

All K1 Speeds are a great experience . But of all three locations I've been to, the Burbank one offers the worst guest experience. We've been coming off and on for 2 yrs and can see the service going downhill. The former manager Gordon managed to keep the place running reasonably well, but the current management has let their customer experience slide a lot. It used to be that you could call them to get a rough schedule of race times. Lately they don't even pick up the phone anymore. The last 10 times I called, the general info extension went to voicemail. So the way to find out if there's a junior race available is to physically drive over there and HOPE that they have junior races and no birthday party instead. There have been times when my son wanted to race but we didn't want to drive all the way there to disappoint him so we opted to do something else. On a recent visit, we noticed that the employees were not at all enthusiastic about their jobs. The front desk was really slow to check people in and was more interested in socializing amongst themselves between customers while the line grew longer. We almost left after waiting for 5 mins of down time between each person in line ahead of us. Then the trackside team would constantly take breaks between races leaving about 10 mins of no activity between each race. I also witnessed newbies struggle with their positions and with nobody responding to help them. One newbie turned the wrong direction to enter the track and none of the staff standing nearby responded to help for several minutes, My own son couldn't get his harness buckle clipped in and had his hand raised to ask for help. The staff was chatting and joking amongst themselves and ignored him. Finally I told them that "there are kids asking for help" and to turn around and look towards them. The staff morale seems very low and disinterested in moving things along. It seems like the more they delay things, the less work they have to do which translates to very long but unnecessary wait times between races and at check in. On the plus side, the equipments seems well maintained but the decor hasn't changed in at least 2 yrs. The same vintage CART car has been on display gathering more cobwebs, and the wall art is unchanged.. The Burbank location is the polar opposite from my last few experiences at the Tustin location where things seem to be run far more efficiently. read more

Online reservation is scam, the chage for two races $70 while in store peice is $55. They charge your credit card and demand $70, also the minimum number for reservation is 8 so if you are less than that still they charge for 8 ppl!!! read more

They have no way to inform customers if private events are happening. If you call them you get automated response most of the time, or voicemail and get hung up on. So for folks who just want to go there with kids, if you are not there for a large group event, you will not have any idea if you an get in or not, so you have wasted a lot of time and effort to go out there. Their customer response and support is absolutely dismal and horrible and staff is very rude and unhelpful. Was going to do a trial run there to see if I wanted to host a birthday party, but now not likely to happen at all. read more

I can't believe we paid close to two hundred dollars to wait around sweating for two hours. There is no air conditioning. There are huge fans everywhere but all they do is blow hot, stuffy air around. It was over 90 degrees outside, so it might not be such a big deal in the winter, but during summer in so cal, no bueno. The bathrooms are disgusting. All five stalls in the woman's restroom had urine/poop in them or urine all over the seat. I couldn't believe it was a business (one that charges a lot of money at that!), it was worse than a public park! I had to go but I didn't even attempt to use them, I just walked out. The employees are vague in directions and expect you to know all the rules even if you've never been there before. My family did one race and while the race itself was fun, we will never be back. They need to take better care of their business by at the very least providing clean restrooms for their patrons to use. read more

Christian, the manager at K1 in Burbank, really went above and beyond to help us with our evening.  We got overbooked by an employee who quoted a 3 hour wait, and when we came back by 3 hours, we were told that we missed our races. There was a chance we weren't going to race that day and we were really upset, but Christian took the extra mile, explained the situation, and was really understanding about it. We got to race that night and even gave us a complimentary race.:) We cant wait to come back for possibly league racing! read more

Went there last month. It was very hot that day and the only air conditioning in the facility was at the check in desk and behind the counter where they prepare food. They didn't even have fans blowing it was ridiculously hot. They also ran out of regular water and had no ice. K1 sent me a survey about the visit and I reported all the things I am in this review and no one has reached out. Also, they have rules posted about not ramming in to each other in cars but no one there does anything about it when people purposefully slam their cars into the car in front of them at full speed. Scam, they put an employee in to race with our party full of kids under 18. We were not experienced, so this guy ran circles and completed 12 laps in record time. Our best druver comoleted 8. We complained to the manager and his excused was that this was a paid customer. We saw the same guy getting into another car again for the next party. Scam, scam, scam. read more

We really wanted this to be better. The facilities themselves are nice-looking. Some of the staff we were interacting with were very rude and not wearing masks as is required! Chin diapers! We tried to order food several times and no one was at the snack bar. The woman who finally came over to work snack bar, after 5 attempts to get drinks, was not wearing her mask. I asked the manager if masks are required and he said, "we can't make them". He thought I was talking about the clientele. When he realized that I wasn't he did ask his employee to pull up their mask. Needless to say, half of the clientele are not wearing masks. Because they offer such a niche activity, I'm not too sure reviews will mean anything to them. It's also pretty pricey. $3 for a small bag of chips?! its already a couple hundred to take a few kids on 3 rides! So disappointing read more

Beware beware beware Afraid the other reviews were right. Worst go karting operation I've seen in socal. I didn't think any place can provide a bad go karting experience but this place did. I've been karting for 10 years in LA as background. They said it be a 2 hr wait and I ordered 2 races.. ok no problem suck it up. I mentioned what time should I safety come back, they said 4pm. I arrived back around 3:45pm check in and they said its all good. We start our first race at 4:45 and then when we were done, they proceeded to tell me we don't have a second race? I talk with a manager and they said it looks like they called our 1st race already and we weren't in the building.... I told them their team told me to come by 4 and I came back even earlier.. in short manager said too bad , we will have to wait hours again for second race.... I asked for a refund and they proceeded to charge me full freight of 1 race and not even provide the discount from a 2 race purchase. In short, Come here if you want to wait a long time and be lied too! You have been warned, don't come here if you expect anything done orderly or timely. When we got back, after being away for only 30 mins, we were told that they have been calling us, which doesn't make sense since they told us we still had AT LEAST another 30 mins on the wait time. I also don't appreciate how they spoke because they did not treat us with respect and rushed us through the process, which could have led to injury - it was careless and haphazard. They set us up with the helmets and they added another group of random people to our race. We overheard from an employee that they'd be joining our race because they had to get to an 8:30pm reservation ' they couldn't miss,' which is frustrating given how long we had to wait. Even though our party was already 8 people, the race became 12 people and a normal race appeared to be 8-10. That is wildly rude because they compromised our experience - they were poor drivers, constantly bumping us and causing a less than pleasant racing experience. Afterwards, we attempted to speak to a manager to voice our frustrations and were simply told 'avoid weekends bc they're busy'. This entire experience was frustrating, misleading, and completely unacceptable. The staff was careless, unhelpful, and lacked basic communication skills. The manager was helpful and racing the karts themselves were very fun. However, some of the staff here are very unprofessional and were berating our party quite rudely. I can understand that everyone has bad days, but being disrespectful towards a group of students who paid an arm and a leg to be there really dampened the mood after the long hard day we had. I verified with the rude worker at the food stand that the students had not even been given any warnings to try and rectify the issue, but she refused to apologize for her comments towards the students and rolled her eyes at me. We were a respectful group, only waiting quietly in the lounge for our turn, so I wasn't sure what the issue was and the manager had to come over and temper her attitude. If there are "common sense" rules regarding the lounge spaces, I would still look into putting signs up if it makes someone that angry. We will not be back. read more

The WORST customer service. They never answer the phone to get a schedule. We show up and no races are available for juniors. I mentioned to the person at check in that I had been calling all morning and there was no answer. He said that only managers are allowed to answer the phones (how stupid if the mangers are not near the phones) I then asked for the schedule of the following day and he couldn't provide that to me either. HORRIBLE customer service!!!!!! After speaking with the manager he said not to bring the little ones on the weekends and try during the week. Very upsetting they didn't apologize. read more

By far the worst that it has gotten. A couple months ago I was a recent customer as I always came to look for the Gentlemans under the name of Cesar, Bryan, and Omar. These individuals would go out of their way to make sure my events would run on time and smoothly. Cesar was the hands down individual that would give the place a vibe and even make my girlfriend feel wanted lol. Bryan and Omar were just amazing when it came to checking us in and bringing in our food on time and freshly done. Overall these three individuals would make the place a vibe, if someone from corporate reads this, bring them back after reading the rest. Now I went recently hosted an event but wanted to give these unknown faces a try at the facility and what can I say the standards have been lowered by far. We were not briefed and were just situated into the go-kart without no instructions on what to do even though we were regulars before, my other party guests weren't. So much bumping and drifting and yet the guy in the middle with the flags did not pay attention at all. After the racing our food was still not ready or brought out to us, we had to wait 35 minutes after our third race just to get 2 cold hard thick pizza. I had a talk with the manager about the service and all he did was say, "Nothing I can Do" like really common. I even tried removing the tip and all they did was increase it from its initial amount being sought on my receipt. Overall this place has fallen apart and needs to bring back at least one of the top elite rated staff they had because this isn't cutting it. read more

Came here for the first time and was so excited. The woman said we couldn't put our names down until we paid. Kinda of annoying but we agreed. The woman also told us that it would take an hour and 20 minutes and we have waited for now almost 2 and a half hours. This would be my second time coming to the Burbank k1 speed, and i had almost the same experience the second time as the first time, i should've never went back. same guy was the one watching all drivers racing both times i went, he looks latino, with shoulder length black hair, EXTREMELY RUDE AND SERIOUS. if our karts will spin or stop, and he'll have to come help fix them he'll roll eyes or exhale harshly. like these are kids who obviously aren't professional. on our last lap, another guy (amazing service) told my sister to park her kart on the next lane , the rude guy had just let that lane go race, so he thought my sister was a part of that race, with helmets it's hard to hear, my sister was simply trying to tell the rude guy that she wasn't suppose to go with and he threw his hands up upset that my sister wouldn't leave to the track, he grabbed the kart and pushed her harshly onto the track. i tried telling the nice guy she wasn't suppose to go, as he was telling me it's okay, the rude guy said "ITS HER FAULT SHE DOESNT KNOW WHAT TO DO" .. i don't know what this kid is going through, keep problems to yourself, if you're upset all the time or don't like the job find another job. People with attitudes like this at jobs are reasons why you guy bad reviews for the store. this second time we went, we RESERVED and we're told we'll be waiting 1hr 40mins OR LESS, we waited 3 hours ! we brought kids with us ages 10-11, have never driven fast cars, this is the reason why we reserved, we did 3 races, and they added a worker with our races. and i've heard and read they do this along for reason of making the race finish fast. Our kids couldn't even enjoy it due to this worker rushing laps and the kids afraid when he'll bump them with full speed. let a party enjoy WHAT THEY PAYED FOR. I Paid $300 for races and had to deal with one of the most disgustingly rude employees at K1 her name is **trinity**!! I walked up to the desk to confirm that my brother was on the same race as me being l that I didn't hear his name being called for the race. She literally said "yeah I didn't call his name b/c your little brother is up here asking me 1,000 freaking questions". & then proceeds to speak to me insanely rude & storms off. I can only imagine how she was speaking to my little brother when I wasn't around who is only 14 & was just excited to ride the go karts. I walked over to speak to her manager & I see her going off in the back room as if I did something wrong & the GM tells me that she said that I was rude to her. Which is a total lie. There are multiple employees & 10 other customers that were standing right there waiting for the race that witnessed everything. I promise you I will never come here again. Please please don't come here unless you want to put yourself and others in danger. They don't regulate who goes on the track and they let a drunk guy and two rowdy young guys on the track with me and my preteen sister. We got slammed beyond roughly and it was very dangerous, I was so scared for her while we're on the track. The manager doesn't care at all, she just gave me the "we will be more vigilant" talk and then when I wasn't letting up on safety regulations, she got mad at me and asked what I would do to change it. No refund and no responsibility taken. I was very respectful and was genuinely upset about the lack of care or effort they have for caring about the kids and others they have in their facility. Then they keep slowing down the karts for no damn reason. We went there for a birthday. Place was freezing cold inside at 55 degrees probably and I am not exaggerating. Do they have heaters or what? Service was horrible. They never had an attendant at the concession stand. I had to go and find the attendance from the front to buy drinks. At all times, there would be a line of people waiting at the concession stand and no one available to attend them. There was no party helpers. Party owners had to do all the set up and cleaning. Food didn't arrive in time. It arrived when it was the end of the party when the cake was being served! And they don't allow outside food or drinks! They give you to tickets to get drinks but there is no one at the concession! At least have the birthday beverages delivered to the room! Or have someone at the concession stand! This place seem to have management problem. It is not being run by any manager and seems like high schooler employees are there to hangout and have fun instead of working. Too much potential. They told us to come back the next day right as they opened so we did but they said that it was closed for a private event.
