We held a 10 year-old's birthday here in January 2025. Wonderful experience and exactly what we were looking for. Two hours of fun for a pack of young kids, including car racing, food, and arcade. Is it the best food? No. Is it the best arcade? No. But this is one of the few places in SoCal that allows young kids to drive on their own. And when you put it all together, that's exactly what most families need for a couple hours of fun. The carts are EVs so you don't have smelly/noxious exhaust. All of the kids had a great time. I want to specifically call out Raymond, the manager on duty during our event. A class act. He treated us with kindness and courtesy throughout and made sure we had what we needed. More importantly, I observed him training new employees on all aspects of the business. He was patient, calm, and respectful when getting these new employees up to speed. These days, I think that's quite rare. Why does this matter to a customer? In my opinion, if he exhibits such humanity in those situations, it's clear that the kind way he treated us was NOT for show - he actually meant it. I'll say it again - he's a class act. I could see his employees modeling that same behavior, too. The boss set the tone, and they followed suit. If I was the owner of this location, I would give Raymond a raise. What an utter disappointment this place was..... Came in with the whole family (5 of us) on a Tuesday, no holiday, dead center mid-day. You would think your odds are pretty good at that point. Well, after a 40 min drive, 10 mins line, we were told the wait would be over 2hrs because of a large group checking in. Now.... please don't give me wrong.... I fully understand giving the priority to a large group (more profitable) and have NO issue with that concept. However there HAS to be a way for people to reserve their spot and not be blind sighted like we were. The only way to make a reservation is if you are in a group of 8+. This system is absolutely flawed and will guarantee disappointing and frustrating a lot of potential customers. We came to this location on Veteran's Day. They were understaffed, yet had 2 birthday parties happening. There was only one person working at check in so it took 40 minutes. I should have left then. They told me it would be 1 hour until my 3 kids raced. I figured that would be fine because we would eat and play in the arcade. When we went to the snack bar and there was only one person cooking for the 2 parties and the walk in guests and taking orders. She told us food would take 40 minutes. Kids were fine to play in the arcade. But when we were there for over an hour and my kids had not been called and they were calling both birthday and walk in kids again for a 2nd race, I asked for a refund. The front desk person told me they could not give a refund. I asked for a manager. The manager was the worst. Even though the front person already told me their system was the cause for the long wait, the manager never apologized, argued with me about the amount of time we had waisted waiting, and deflected responsibility. Similarly, to the review from 2 months ago, we too could not enjoy the racing like other groups. I organized a small event for 9 adult racers, 3 adults brought their younger sons with them. 80% of our group had never raced at any K1 event before so the adults and kids had no understanding or feeling for the speed of the karts. Unfortunately, like any race that has high speed karts, there will be crashes and one of the boys got kicked out and on another instance, I was given a warning. The track master seemed like a young 20 year old boy with a power trip. Slowed down the karts for us on all three races which made it pointless in "racing". Would I ever recommend this place? Absolutely not. I understand the safety, but the karts are designed for speed and the track can be a bit tricky when going fast. If you don't want fast karts on a track, consider changing your business name from K1 Speed to K1. The food was okay but no drinks are provided, not even water. Also, the rooms should have hand sanitizer bottles and none was available. You are expected to walk across the facility to the restrooms to wash your hands prior to eating. If you want fast cars without the power trip track masters, go to Go Kart World in Carson. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. To be so rude to a kids party is beyond ridiculous, when it was a mistake made by their staff. My friend booked her sons birthday party with 10 boys between the ages of 6-8, on Saturday (12/16/20203). They said there were no options they were double booked and that the adult carts were for taller people.... well of course they are but they booked a children's party. If you are looking to do anything besides seriousness non group activity no celebrating or special events and don't mind being treated poorly book here. Plenty of the moms thought it would be fun to even book their sons parties here but not after this interaction. I will make sure if i hear this facility being brought up for a possible birthday party I will retell this horrible experience. I think the only big mistake here was that my friend was wat too nice. The staff could care less that they cost this business a lot of money that day and in the future. If you hate kids, and enjoy seeing the birthday boy cry work somewhere else where you don't have to work with kids. Had my sons 13th birthday party here and I was a bit disappointed. It is not a cheap place to have an event so I was expecting more. Before I start I will say the staff was great and the racing was fun for the kids. I will go back but never host a party there. I feel scammed. The kitchen wasn't fully opened so options were limited. But we were supposed to have a $200 credit (paid for in the package) for food. They gave us 4 medium, 8 slices each, pizza. So $50 per medium pizza. Ring you own everything else and I spent close to $1000 for 13 kids to race and eat. I ended up inviting everyone back to my house and door dashed food and drinks to be there when we arrived. Next time I'm going to just have the party at home. K1 is fun but the ownership is greedy and I don't recommend paying for any parties. Just go race and leave. read more

I've been coming here with a good group of buddies for over a year. As a whole, the staff are really good. Tonight the staff was fantastic. My buddies and I are all pretty competitive but we were a smaller group tonight so got matched up with some pretty terrible racers. They had to keep slowing things down because the other racers obviously don't know how to use a break and just go full force into walls. The staff recognized that we were stuck with bad racers for the first 2 races and let us have a really fun last race. Besides the staff, the karts can go fast, if everyone drives well. When you're bumping and crashing, they slow it down. The food isn't too bad (but the sketchers food out front is like an upgraded Costco food court for cheap) and they have beers for after the race too at the track. The facilities are always clean and they have plenty of parking. I've gone to a birthday party here and they did a good job. Fun spot! read more

Took my Nephew there to get him some track experience and they were rough w putting the kids helmet on One guy was literally upset that I safely secured his helmet on ( remember I signed off the liability waiver. ) and took the more safer helmet that fit him for one that wasn't really safe to standards. And kept moving. I was excited and gave him pointers. The said rude staff member had the nerve to ask me hey bro do you want my job which he wasn't doing. They didn't really give me any feedback to why he was going slow until the controller guy told me his feedback on the kart. My race was a total mess with drivers literally blocking for no reason to cause a accident. So Much Fun!!!! My daughter and I went here for the first time for a birthday party. Of course, I looked at the reviews on Yelp, and I was a bit skeptical due to the low-star reviews. Even with the bad reviews, my daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves. There was plenty of parking which is always convenient. When we entered, I was amazed at how big the place was. I was also impressed with how neat, and clean everything was. For the party, a party room was rented out. We were able to go into the party room and hang out. We had access to the mini arcade, the bar/lounge area, lobby area, party room, and the race track. The actual racing itself was so thrilling! The party food was hot and fresh out of the oven! Today I attended a birthday party for my nephew. It was unfortunately one of the most in organized places I have ever attended a birthday party. Once the kids completed their race with no direction of what to do next. After they completed the final race they went to announce the winners. I asked all the kids to get their drink. When doing this the man who was about to announce the winners stared me down with the rudest stare. Then stated to me in a rude tone "I was about to announce the winners." I wish I could have seen his name badge. He had brownish reddish hair with a beard. It was very unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. After the last race we had no direction of what to do next for the party. When we went and asked they directed us to a room that was being cleaned and had pizza in it. Once the room was ready the kids went in. The pizza was already cold and had been sitting there a while. When the kids went to eat it they stated it tasted disgusting. We went to order more food as the pizza wouldn't be enough for 13 kids and they did not enjoy it. When we ordered food they stated it would be 30 mins as they only had two ovens. After receiving part of our order we went back up to the counter after 45 mins after we ordered to ask about our fries and they said they were bring them out. This took another 5 minutes and we then had to ask for ketchup. This food at least was satisfactory. Throughout the entire party from 5:30-8pm no one checked on our party to see if we needed anything or were okay. Having thrown many parties at different facilities I found this extremely weird. Lastly when using the facilities only one bathroom had toilet seat covers and was decently clean. The trash was over flowing and a dirty cleaning towel was left in the bathroom. I would not recommend this K1 location to have a birthday part at. Staff were not helpful at all, they really didn't care and it was very disorganized. On top of it now we have a few people who ate the food there and have upset stomachs. Very disappointing for the amount of money that was spend. read more

I went here for a work teambuilding event. I want to start by saying that the check in and racing experiences were great. Five stars. The staff was very friendly and seemed super knowledgeable. They were very clear on all of the instructions and did a good job explaining things. We had a major issue with catering. They forgot a big part of our order. So we had snack type food and salad but no taco bar, which was the biggest cost out of our food order. Seems like they do all of their catering offsite, so they weren't able to remedy the issue while we were at our event. Instead, we ended up ordering pizza and fries onsite (which they still charged us for). TBD if we're getting a partial refund. read more

First time racing at K1. I like that it's electric go cart and no gas smell that'll make me nauseous. We registered and payed the membership of $8 per person. We got the Groupon deal with 4 races. It was our first time, so they told us briefly directions and how to use the race car and immediately was put into the race. The races # of laps depends on how fast you go. We were with the racers that had been racing before, which sucked because I only got 9 laps in before they stopped everyone. I was so scared that I was going to flip over or that the car was going to stall. There were a few turns that were very sharp. If you're a noob like me, I would ask them if I can go with a group that is mostly beginner. The second time I raced, it was mostly beginners. I felt more like I can go faster and had more laps in. read more

Avoid if possible. They will overbook races and tell you come back to finish up your races another time, but when you come back and they will still not have enough time. They will then not refund you the money because you did not purchase the races that day. Be prepared to wait double the time you are initially told when buying the races. read more

My friends and I decided to check out K1 when they announced that they are doing a mushroom rally. We quickly bought our tickets because we knew it would sell out really quick. Just some tips before purchasing these tickets, if they decide to do it again: 1. Know your friend's first and last name. 2. Get their e-mail, because a link to a form will be sent out, in which they need to be filled prior to arriving. 3. Remember which date your purchased, because they will send out an email for the forms, but you need to pick the date you purchased, since each date has their own code. I'm not sure why they would show codes for all the date, but no biggie. 4. Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event. You'll need to check in with you id. 5. There are a lot of games to play. Get at least 100 stars to win a prize. That's pretty much all I can think of. Overall, just have fun. read more

Feel the need for speed, well you've come to the right place! My extended family and I did the LA Card and one of the options of activities/attractions is K1 Speed. As soon as we arrived, we noticed the place was packed. There's plenty of teenagers and a few adults. The younger kids were probably around 10 or 11 years old; they were running around all over the place and playing the arcade machine/games. I noticed the pool tables in the back area which I thought is cool. We needed to sign the waiver before checking in over the counter. They provided all the drivers a head/face cotton mask to wear. Each group receives a mask colored that's will be announced through the intercom when its turn for group to enter through the fence and race. Once the race begins, all the drivers drive in a single lane into the track and the race begins! This ain't your regular race track. You are racing within your own time of how quick you can finish your laps and the score board will rank you within your group. Overall, the race was about 10-15 minutes long or at least that's what it felt like. All spectators can look at the results of the ranking on the laps through the tv screen or sit by the track and watch the show. Upon completion of the race, drivers can request for the results to be printed as souvenirs. Overall, it's definitely a cool hip place if you want to let out some steam and press on the gas pedal!!! read more

What a great urban gem tucked away on the border of Gardena and Carson. I used to work a block away, and I had no idea that this place existed! Kids (over 48 inches) and adults alike get to experience the thrill of the speed on this nicely designed indoor track. The electric cars can accelerate pretty fast, and you really need to utilize the laws of physics in your favor if you don't want to lose control of your car. The only downside is that there is often a long wait to drive. We had to wait over an hour before it was our turn. Granted, it was Labor Day weekend, but perhaps there could be some type of an online signup system to minimize the wait time. At least the waiting area is comfortable, and the sofas are super-soft. read more

STAY AWAY! Unfortunately what was once a great idea has now become a victim of corporate greed that does not value your time and/or appreciate you as a customer. As a result K1 seems to be suffering from a major identity crisis, not knowing if they're an indoor race kart track or a Check E Cheese. On multiple occasions I have called in advance confirming times for my 2 boys to race only to arrive, after a 30min drive, to be told there was some kind of party and the wait was now 2hrs +. What the F__K is a person suppose to do for 2 hours with kids while we wait like good little sheep for our turn?? This is so disrespectful and insulting to expect that from anyone let alone parents with kids as they watch other children race in front of them. This is what prompted me to leave this terribly long review. Staff seems inept and confused never knowing if there's an event happening (which all look pretty bad BTW) ,only providing lip service and pointing their finger to "Corporate". So "Corporate" if you're reading this.... GET YOUR SH_T TOGETHER!!! WAKE UP!! HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS!! Such a great place to have my son's 10th birthday here! The entire staff from the coordination of the event to the day of the party was super nice and accommodating. The staff was so helpful and the racing staff was super kind especially to the younger drivers. Everything was perfect! The pizzas were a hit as well!
