Overall very impressed with the food, and the new set up of sit down dining. It's been a while since over tried it but i left full and content and plenty of leftovers - exactly why i ordered the dinner plate. Absolutely recommend the honey cauliflower appetizer.... Drool worthy!! One guy was super good, definitely an owner or family, but the rest of the staff could use a little more experience. It'll come with time, but just a little feedback for them to think about. For example, i was the first one there and asked for 3waters, after my friends arrived, the were never asked if they wanted anything else to drink. The combo lunch was missing one of the meats but they brought it out. I'll definitely be back and looking forward to trying their family dinners

Clean and nice ambiance. All the staff are super friendly and welcoming. They answered all our questions, provided recommendations and excellent customer service. Price is reasonable. There are lunch price and dinner price for each entree. Kababs are delicious, especially the beef kababs. The Garlic sauce is a must - make sure you ask for it. Will come back to try other items on the menu.

Lamb shish kebab cooked to medium not what I ordered. I ordered rare hoping I would get medium rare. Well we see what we got.

OK, this is my third time here because the first time was not good. Second time was just iffy now the third time I'm a little upset! Knowing that the menu says they cook their food to medium. I ordered rare on my shish kebab and I got not rare, but I got. If that? If they can't get a request order right I don't know what else to do but inspect it before I leave!

The staff is very friendly, it is always welcoming and inviting. The taste of the food is great and live that I have tried different things on there menu. One reason for that is the student special they have every month for $10, so if you are a student you have to take advantage of that. The chicken bowl that I had by first look was very disappointing as there was only 5 pieces of chicken with rice for 20. My mind was changed after the first bite of the rice. It exceeded my expectations and it was complete with the salad. The meal overall was delicious, but had off proportions. The interior is a vibe, so check it out if you get the chance or it is great as takeout, which I tend to do.

It has been awhile since we last came here. I wanted something healthy so I suggested this place which we ended up going for dinner. The last time we were here, as soon as you come in you have to fall in line in cafeteria style setting where you select what you want from the base, to the protein to the toppings, etc. Then get seated and enjoy your meal. NOW, you get seated as soon as you enter the restaurant and then be handed the menu. By the way, the place is much bigger now since they extended to what used to be an open area. They closed that area and it is now part of the restaurant. A staff takes your order and then it is delivered to you. In short it is now your typical sit down restaurant. We ordered the spicy chicken bowl which is pretty big. It was more than I expected. He ordered the gyro wrap with fries. He had me try his fries and I found it to be salty. The prices are a little more than before but also they have more selections. Overall, this place isnt bad.

I'm always wary about trying new food spots, but my partner and I decided to take a chance on Kabab City. And we were so pleasantly surprised! The food, service, and ambiance were all 10/10. On the menu, there is a delightful mix of meat & vegetarian options (which is difficult to come by in the Central Valley!). We ordered the samosas, honey garlic cauliflower, and a falafel wrap w/ fries. And let me tell you, the portions are HUGE. The photos speak for themselves- but 2 apps and 1 entree was wayyy more than enough for two people. And the price point is honestly great considering the amount of food you're getting.. We still had a whole meals-worth of leftovers! Our server was also incredibly attentive and sweet, and the overall vibe of this restaurant is just beautiful. After experiencing Kabab City, we were left wondering how they weren't busier! 10000% will be back.

Ordered the spicy chicken bowl today 07/29/26 and this is how it came. This is the worse spicy chicken bowl i have received from them. Will not be going back again. I will only get kabab city from Fresno moving forward. Dry chicken with no sauce.

I ordered the shawarma wrap. It was quite large. They prepare it right in front of you and let you pick the ingredients you wish to have them put inside, which is nice. While the amount of meat they put inside was quite generous, I was somewhat disappointed that the way they prepare the shawarma meat is to finely chop it. This is not the way I've had shawarma virtually every other place I've ever been to. The meat seemed somewhat dry, so I was left with the feeling that this technique was used to overcome the quality of the meat they use. Of course, there aren't a lot of Mediterranean restaurants in Merced, so it was nice to find a place in town that serves up this type of cuisine.

Even though we came in at a time so close to closing, they still welcomed us and were enthusiastic to serve us. We took a really long time looking at the menu but they were really chill about it. After we ordered another server we hadn't met yet came back with our food saying "I hope you guys are hungry" and it just set the tone for the nice welcoming vibe of the place. The food was fire those french fries are definitely a must. Even though we were there past closing and they turned their music off, we were asked for any song recommendations and they qued up some Michael Jackson for us per request. Adrian was such a nice guy and will definitely be seeing him again. 10/10 will be coming back

Perfect spot for lunch! They serve large plates, soups, salads, wraps and family meals with a variety of meats to choose including chicken, beef, spicy or mild, with or without curry, kafta kabob, veggie plate and gyros. There are plenty of toppings available as well. We had planned to share a plate since the portions looked generous, and the server kindly gave us extra rice and salad when she heard we were sharing. Everyone is super nice and they genuinely care for their customers. Everything was delicious as well. Very well designed store with plenty of inside and outside covered seating available. We will definitely be back!

Very aesthetically thought out location. The patio dining is cute yet very laid back. The spicy chicken wrap is sooo good ! They use the good wrap iykyk & the chicken was so flavorful ! I liked that you can see all the ingredients are fresh and they make almost everything in store. We received really great service the owner was very attentive. The red chili paste is special recipe and is so good on everything!the French fries are fried to perfection crispy outside and soft inside OH and they're seasoned ! The baklava I tried was the chocolate pistachio and if you've never had fresh "homemade" baklava you must try it HERE . It's perfectly sweet. We're from sac and this place is so good we will be making our way back it is THAT good. read more

Our favorite Mediterranean restaurant in town! The food portion is so good, I also take my leftovers home and it heats up amazing! I love their salad as well with the pita chips. We rented the patio for my daughter's birthday, Tony was very helpful since the beginning, customer service , food , service and everything in general was perfect . Kabab City is BY FAR one of the best restaurants in Merced. Not only the food is AMAZING, the environment, customer service and just over all vibes when coming in are unmatched. You're always acknowledged when you walk in the door, they maintain great small talk while serving you/while you're waiting in line and they are so sweet/polite. I hadn't been there in a couple of months and I still received the same beautiful energy as the first time, even though they had remembered me and knew I wasn't a first time customer. I literally cannot say enough about this place because hospitality and great customer service like they provide is very rare. I usually like to do quick pick ups or door dash to avoid unpleasant service/restaurants but I look forward to going inside and ordering/picking up my meals because of the amazing staff and energy! Keep it up Kabab City you all are setting the example of what amazing customer service looks like. Also seriously y'all if the review on their customer service isn't enough to convince you to come in, TRUST me when I say the food does not disappoint! When you get a good cook, the food tastes great. However, the problem with this place is it's extremely inconsistent. There are days where I love my food, but half of the time it doesn't taste good. Tonight, for example, the food was so salty to the point I'm struggling eating it :( . I might just need to toss it. Some days the food tastes incredibly bland, or is over cooked or undercooked. One of the most inconsistent places...but there are times when the food is just fabulous. :/ I just wish they can be more consistent. read more

I can honestly say this is the best new restaurant that Merced has seen in quite a while and a cuisine that is definitely welcomed! Beautiful new venue, very friendly owner and excellent quality and taste. Ordered the beef and spicy chicken combo with rice and salad. The chicken was incredibly tender white meat chicken and full of flavor and the beef was also perfectly cooked and flavorful. Option to add some sauces and extra sides. The olives were also really good. The plate was huge, $18 and definitely enough for two meals. The amount of menu options you can order is so varied you could probably eat here for a month and not have the same thing. There is seating indoor and also outside but it is more of a togo spot but service was fast and friendly. So excited for this new spot and it will definitely sets the bar for new restaurants in Merced. Thanks Kebab City! read more

If you haven't visited @kababcitymerced on Yosemite Ave, across from Merced College near Mountain Mike's, you're missing out on the most delicious Mediterranean food! Gyros, skewers, wraps, and so much more! You can't go wrong with any of their amazing dishes! They go above and beyond every time! They have weekly specials for UC & JC students, too! I posted pictures of our dinner tonight: Shawarma Fries, Grilled Talapia, and the Kabab City Bowl w/beef. We also had their new Honey Garlic Cauliflower dish but we ate it too fast I didn't have a chance to take a picture of it lol it was INCREDIBLE! Can't wait to go back JUST for that! The fact that as soon as i walked in I said "it smelled good" then a customer answered "best madetrian restaurant" says it all!! All the food looked delicious and the staff were so sweet and welcoming, Just walking in you can tell that it's clean and has a nice vibe. I absolutely cannot say enough amazing things about Kabab city! First of all, the food is amazing! They have deals for students as well so if you're an incoming student definitely come here! The staff is always very kind and welcoming and willing to answer any questions you might have! Everything is served in a build your own bowl/plate type of way (just like chipotle but 20x better). I highly recommend the chicken plate, half salad half rice, the veggies, and the garlic sauce is an absolute MUST!! There is also plenty of seating so you can sit down and enjoy your meal by yourself or with a friend! 100% you have to try this place, and you'll fall in love with it just like I have! read more

I ordered the spicy chicken plate - it included rice, salad, and spicy chicken and I chose bell peppers, onion, cucumber, tomatoes, and feta cheese as toppings. It was DELICIOUS!!!... and enough for 2-3 meals for me, very generous portions. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very welcoming. Tony was the gentleman who served me and he was extremely kind - he helped me make my entree selection, checked in on myself and other customers while we were eating, and helped bag leftovers for myself and another table as we were finishing our meals. I can't believe I waited so long to try this restaurant!! The food, service, ambiance, and location are all top-notch. I'll definitely be a new regular! read more

This is a gem. Hubs had kebab and I had my traditional gyro. Delicious, generous portions, and good value. The outside patio is covered and comfortable, even on a very hot day. I would return here and would seek out their other locations for a quick yet satisfying Mediterranean meal. read more

Being persian, I was very excited for a kabob shop. However I've been here a few times and given it multiple chances, but I find the price very high and the food low quality. One time it upset my stomach a lot and I had a friend get food poisoning as well. The food just doesn't not taste great or of high quality yet it is pretty expensive. I thought the lentil soup was great the first time I went then I got it again and it smelled weird and tasted bland. So it's also inconsistent. I would not recommend this place. read more

Quick friendly service and excellent food. They prepared fresh beef for us even though they were nearing closing. The portion sizes were awesome. My husband and I each got a plate and have gotten 2-3 meals out of it. The food was well seasoned and prepared. Small seating area, so would recommend taking food to go. Also there is a pickup window outside for convenience. read more

Just ate here recently and ordered the spicy chicken plate. Food was super good. Fresh salad, rice was fine (I mean it's rice), but the chicken. The chicken was perfection. We loved the experience. My husband and I took my parents out here prior to going to an Art Show. We were thoroughly impressed with the cuisine and service. Not only was everything super duper yummy there was a cozy feel. We sat and visited and were made to feel welcomed like family and not at all rushed. Not to mention the portions were very generous. My husband just asked me to make sure and add to the review how much he enjoyed the new Dessert that was just added to the menu. A fun place to go out to eat! read more

Kabab City has really good food ! We ordered the spicy chicken and beef. It came with rice and salad. We also ordered the hummus, with pita bread. The portions were large. We were full, so we have leftovers for tomorrow! The owner Tony was very friendly, and extremely customer service oriented. He personally served our plates for us . He went above and beyond to make sure we would enjoy the food. He even walked around to make sure that all the customers were satisfied! We will definitely be coming back! They were quite busy. They made sure the tables were cleaned right away. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Amazing food! (On the pricier side) but so worth it. Just be aware to not order trough DoorDash/uber eats, etc. Make sure you go in person bc they tend to mess up delivery orders. Other than that I LOVE this place. read more

I finally had a chance to try this spot, the service was great. The location is brand new so everything is nice and clean/well kept unlike most of the restaurants in Merced. The food is great, not the best I've ever had but really good flavor. I had a chicken shawarma wrap with a side salad and their baklava. The salad was perfect, no complaints. The wrap..was a little different than what I've had...they used more of a pita bread rather than a wrap and I ordered chicken only because they didn't have lamb. The baklava didn't taste fresh, like it was brought from somewhere else and then heated up...so I'd pass on that next time...but it still didn't taste bad. read more

Been to Kabab City 3 times already and it's been great every time, the staff are young adults but so well mannered and upbeat, You feel welcomed there and the food is amazing,The owner is really nice and upbeat as well,His demeanor definitely rubs off on his workers Asked us if there was anything else he can do for us, Highly recommend it read more
