On a recent trip to Yosemite, my group and I stopped at Kabab City for dinner. A lot of the places around the area were closing quickly, and we needed to find something good, fast! I'm so glad we stopped Kabab City, because we had such an awesome experience. The employee who helped take our orders and make our dishes was so friendly and helpful. I wish we had gotten her name! She really made our experience extra special. The restaurant had such good vibes and the portions were amazing! There was enough food to last for 2-3 meals. On top of that, everything was so fresh and all of the vegetables were nice and crunchy. I'm usually picky about Mediterranean food, but this place felt like the real deal. The falafel entree that I had felt very authentic, and I liked the extra touches of sumac on top. Other awesome things about the place were the music and the outdoor seating. Food is tasty, price is steep. We got the family meal. One container of rice, two containers of salads, and 1 container of meat, and 4 very small pieces of bread, and a bowl of hummus. For the price of the family meal I'd expect more bread, especially since you give a good amount of hummus, there's no way that each person should get only 1/4 of pita! C'mon. Ok, now that's out of the way. The salad is delicious and you can have them add whatever toppings you want. Feta, olives, onions plus much more. The garlic sauce is super tasty! Rice is good, and well cooked. The meats we've tried were pretty tasty, and when we dipped it in the garlic sauce we had no complaints. Overall, a good place that has hot food ready to go, so there's no wait. All the employees we've met have been super helpful and nice. read more

One of my favorite places to eat here in our little city of Merced. The workers are always happy to help and greet you with a smile which is really cool. The vibe of the restaurant is definitely modern college city restaurant type which makes sense. Usually I end up getting the student meal which is really cool if you're a UCM student or even a MC student. They change it up every month which is a cool twist to add. Wanted something vegetarian and I love a good falafel so I wanted to give this place a shot. Glad I did. This is a fast casual spot in a strip mall, but I'll argue the service and food are certainly better than your average fast casual. The staff was nice but the real tipping point was the owner/manager who was onsite. He really treated everyone, said goodbye when they left. He asked me how the food was I a way like he really cared. He saw I was eating the falafel plate so he brought out a garlic sauce he thought I might like. And I did like it. The falafel was crispy, nicely seasoned, and not dry. Really solid falafel. The side salad was surprisingly great as that is usually phoned in on these things. The little fried pita croutons were a nice touch. The hummus was very creamy and not too loose. I'll argue it was slightly under-seasoned, but that could also just be a personal preference. Don't be mistaken; it was still good. I would definitely come back here and they really seemed to excel with the chicken so I may try that next time if I'm feeling more omnivore. read more

Picture doesn't do it justice because there was tons of meat under all the veggies and sauce. Beef Kabab was just okay for me, but the wife loved it with the garlic sauce and feta cheese. Found the beef to be too chewy and lacking flavor without the garlic sauce. Spicy Chicken was definitely my favorite. Extra meat is definitely a must, with the big serving of rice, you'll have plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. Spice level catches up to you, but it's worth the burn. Chicken is very tender, juicy, seasoned well and I wish they poured the sauce on everything.
