After several years of being forced to hop the border into HB for a decent lunch (not into pho, boba, nor spring rolls, thanks), I can finally snag some decent Mediterranean. And because this restaurant is located in the penny-pinchin', Dollar Tree collectin', tightwad capital of the OC -- it's affordable! They have no choice! HAH! Anyway, their meat is all good; great, even. Beef, Lamb, and Chicken Kababs are all well worth the 10-ish minutes it takes to wait for those freshly cooked little flame nuggets to make it to a plate. Very juicy, tender, with just slightly grill-crusted exteriors to give the meats that extra flavor. These folks are meat experts! The baba ganouj is outstanding. The Mediterranean salad is crunchy, savory, and fresh. The rice is the stuff of addiction, and probably should be avoided altogether if you are limiting your carbs ("just one bite, then I'll stop. This time, I WILL NOT shovel it in like a prisoner in an orange jump suit with Red breathing down my neck", she said. But just try taking *one* bite. Try.). The tzatziki , the hummus, and let's face it, the just-about -*everything*, is top drawer. The prices are unreal -- 7 bucks for an overloaded plate? Yeah, that's meat, rice, pita bread (the only meh thing here, obviously not made on site), plus two sides. I don't know how they do it, but I hope they keep on doing it, and for a long time. Kabab Grill is a clean and unassuming spot in which to enjoy delicious food, served on disposable plates, eaten with plastic utensils, and washed down with self-serve beverages. It's the kind of place where none of the menu items are given silly, made up names for the sake of being cute or hip (ahem, "moustarda" and "rocka" salad? I want to sucker punch the people who think these things up for chain restaurants) -- they're just trying to serve authentic food here. 5 stars coming from a person that doesn't usually like Mediterranean food! After the first time trying this place, I ended up coming back two days later for more. I usually get the shawarma or gyro. I tried the kabobs once and wasn't a huge fan of them. I love that each plate comes with such a large variety of sides that you can choose from. My faves are the tzatziki, hummus and purple cabbage. It's about $6 for a huge plate of food. How can you go wrong!! Also a plus that you can order online. Both the shawarma and gyro plates are filled with meat that is super flavorful and tender. All plates come with rice and pita bread as well. Don't forget to try the boraks! I know they're not traditional phyllo fried boraks... Had the beef kabab with babaganouj and hummus. I visited based on high yelp reviews but was not really that impressed. The sides tasted like they had condensed water under the saran wrap in the walk in. I see some pretty high reviews here, kinda skeptical at where they are coming from. The food here is mediocre at best. Got the Schwarma mix plate and found it to be rather uneventful. The seasoning is all over the meat and makes you think that the meat is just precooked or made in batches and then just tossed in some spices when ordered. Rice was actually a bit salty for me and reminded me of rice a roni, which I actually like but not expected from a restaurant. Prices are great, hummus and baba ghanoush was decent. Someone came out a few minutes later with a bag that had three boxes in it, and I commented that I only ordered two things. Turns out I almost took home the order of this poor guy who had been waiting there...check yo-self before you wreck yo-self! - CHICKEN SHAWERMA PLATE ($6.49): Comes with rice, pita bread, and 2 appetizers. I chose Hummus and Labni (yogurt like cream cheese). The chicken was a tad dry, but I easily compensated by eating each bite with a lot of labni. I didn't like the pita bread that much. - GYRO ($4.99): It was pretty huge! I didn't try it but my boyfriend seemed to enjoy it. It came with some pickled onions and a pepperoncini. They do offer garlic/hot sauce, but you have to ask and they come in these teeny containers! I need at least 4 of those garlic sauces. Great Mediterranean food spot! Prices are cheaper than other spots and they give you a good size portion. I go here about once a week. Make sure you order ahead of you're on your lunch break. They can get busy and sometimes the food takes a little bit to come out. I usually order my food online via yelp with eat24. That way when I arrive, the food is done and I'm out really quick. My favorites are the chicken and beef kababs. My coworker loves the lamb Kabab. He says it's the best he's had around this area. The chicken Kabab are moist and you can always order it with two kababs of you have a big appetite. The beef Kabab is made with filet mignon and is very tender. For the sides, I like to order the hummus spicy and Mediterranean salad. Sometimes I switch up the hummus for tabule(not sure how it's spelled) but all the sides are good. If it's your first time and you can't decide on which side to get, ask them to let you sample it. That's what I did. It's located across the street from home Depot next to Art Supply Warehouse. On Westminster and Westport Lane. Another plus is that they take credit cards too! Oh and if you think you're seeing double of the same guy, they're twins! I'm in love! This place has such wonderful food and flavors, it's become my number one lunch spot while at work. The lamb kabobs are my go to, they are so tender and delicious. Thanks to you Yelpers, we were led to a wonderful little place for Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food, very convenient to the 405 on Westminster Blvd. Absolutely everything we tried was fantastic: Lamb Shank -- so tender and flavorful. It was juicy though not covered with a sauce, served over a generous serving of well seasoned rice. Plenty here for two or more servings, and quite delicious reheated at home. Baba Ganouj was outstanding, with its smokey flavor -- one of the best I've had anywhere! Hummus was smooth and very tasty with a nice garlic kick. Goes very nice with their warm, fresh pita bread. Tomato and Cucumber Salad had a nice, light vinaigrette dressing with typical middle eastern herbs and spices. The owner was kind enough to make the salad up for me, fresh, on the spot, so as to avoid bell peppers, which I'm allergic to. Tsatsiki was tangy and had a good amount of cucumber in it. Maybe a little dill too. Their Garlic Sauce was delightfully sharp, with plenty of real garlic taste, and was especially good combined with the Rice. Boreg / Burek had delicious seasonings in the ground beef filling and in the cheese filling, but this version was more like a Chinese Egg Roll than the light, flakey phyllo dough wrap, wound up like a cinnamon roll that I was used to getting when visiting the Mediterranean countries. As first time guests, we were treated to their wonderful Baklava. It was sweet without being overly sweet or sticky. I'm sad it took me sooo long to find this hidden gem! My go to spot whenever I'm craving kababs and lamb. Place is nice inside and clean, the cashiers and workers are always nice, the music is always good ( I shazaam a lot of songs here), and their food is amazing. I usually go here during lunch hours so to avoid a longer wait time I always place a phone order and pick up. Everything I've tried here has been delicious and their prices are great! I usually get a large greek salad with gyro, 2 skewer kabab plate with red cabbage (SOO GOOD), or a gyro wrap. I highly recommend their steak kababs! The pieces are soo tender and juicy. My friend Kevin L. told me about this place. I pass by the plaza pretty often, but never even noticed this place because it's super unassuming. As many noted, the best way to spot it is to turn right into the small parking lot you see before the Art Supply Warehouse! The restaurant itself is small and gets super busy at lunchtime, so be prepared to wait. Apparently you can order ahead in advance to save you time, but since it was my first time there, I wanted to be able to peruse the menu first. Despite the popularity of this place, I was able to get through the line fairly quickly to order and was able to get my meal to go within 20 minutes, which isn't too bad if you're not on a crazy time crunch. The employees are very efficient here, it seems! I ordered the combo chicken and beef shawarma. The pieces of meat were surprisingly small... almost like tidbits. Nonetheless, the seasoning was just right - the chicken had a nice curry taste and the beef was very tender. My meal came with two halves of pita bread, two sides (I chose the cucumber salad and tzatziki), and rice or fries. I chose fries, but next time I would probably get rice instead because the fries were disappointingly small and thin, which isn't my style. Plus, they have the most amazing garlic sauce here (think similar to Zankou), which I think would taste great with rice! Best of all, the prices are extremely reasonable. For all the food I just listed, I only paid a little over $6 including tax! They also take credit cards, which makes this place all the more amazing! For the prices you can't really beat this place. The inside is a small café which seats about 25-30 people. You order at the counter and pick up your food. I had the combo shawarma ($6) which gives you beef, chicken, garlic/butter rice, 2 appetizer sides, and 2 pieces of peta bread. The best part is the rice; it's rich full of butter and garlic. The chicken & beef tasted okay; it was slightly over-cooked but otherwise it was still pretty good. The 2 sides I got were hummus and babagunush, both of which were solid. I also liked how the tzatziki came w/ lots of cucumbers; most places skim out on the cucumber. I tried my friends skewer ($12) and it was enjoyable. They don't over cook the beef and you get 4 chunks per skewer. It's cooked medium with a nice char on the outside. The beef kabob plate is $6.99. The kefta skewer was my favorite $5.99. The kefta is ground beef and lamb with chopped onion, parsley, and spices. It is perfectly seasoned and delicious. Each plate comes with rice or fries, pita bread, and 2 sides. The sides are equally as delicious. The humus is one of the best I've tried. Creamy with the perfect balance of seasoning. The mediterranean salad is crisp and fresh. The dressing compliments the vegetables perfectly. The baba ghanouj is my favorite side. It's grilled eggplant with tahini, lemon juice and house spices. I was lowkey sad that I might never be able to taste their food again, unless I actually made time to go out there. But now that I work in Garden Grove, I found this gem. And guess what? My favorite kabab spot in Huntington Beach. First off, what drew me here was the value. So many places are charging $10-12 for ONE kabab.... Kabab grill has combos for $13 that include 3 kababs, rice, and sides. Just because it is cheaper in price, does not mean it is lower in quality. The kababs here were fantastic, bursting with flavors, they were generously sized. My combo plate served as both my lunch and dinner, ti was so much food! Most places the rice is just a filler, but here the rice is so amazing, I couldn't stop eating it! There is no flare but just like people, the inside is what matters. Once you step inside you can see their large menu on display describing combo plates, kababs, and other specialties. Another thing that comes out clearly is their ridiculously low prices. Paying $6.99 for a chicken and beef shawarma combo with rice or fries and 2 sides is ridiculous. RIDICULOUS! Almost anywhere else you would find this item to be closer to $10 -$11. Now, you might be thinking that means they don't give you much. FALSE. They fill up a to-go box like Chinese restaurants do. They pack the meat and rice right up and the sides are never skimped. You can easily share a combo plate with two people. Most importantly, the people at the counter are very friendly and seem to genuinely want you to leave with a great experience. Lo and behold, I got my wish as Kebab Grill popped up in the results. It's definitely a little gem, located in the same strip mall as the Art Supply Warehouse and across from the Regency Edwards 10 Theater, on Westminster between Goldenwest and Edwards. I was so impressed with the amazing quality of food and by the super friendly service from one of the owners (they look like twin brothers). However, what impressed me most was how very fairly priced everything was. I got a Combo Beef & Chicken Shawerma plate with 2 sides for just $5.99. Hello?! They had a variety of sides too choose from, and since I wasn't sure of what to get, the owner very generously made a small plate with samples of each side for me to try. How nice is that! Everything was so delicious, so it was hard to choose, but my boyfriend and I ended up getting the White Cabbage Salad, Red Cabbage Salad, Baba Ghanouj and Tzatzeky. The meats were beautifully seasoned and the rice blew me away! The yellow rice served by most Mediterranean restaurants is usually very dry, but not here! The rice at Kebab Grill is incredibly moist and packed with flavor--SO GOOD! In all my excitement over the samples, I forgot to order the meat borak to try. :( I will definitely be back to try that and the baklava! So I've recently become addicted to this place! I went less than a week ago on Thursday because I happened to be at the Westminster Mall. Well it was so good that just a few days later, on Saturday, I was hungry at home in Costa Mesa and I decided that I just had to have it again,.........the Struggle is REAL!!!! So far all I've tried are the Kababs and the Cheese Borak. Kababs- They have 4 types of meats avaiable. Chicken, Lamb (my favorite), Beef and Kafta (I hope I got that right, it's a sausage like ground beef). I've had all 4 of them and to be honest they are all delicious. The Lamb is so dang good. The spices and seasoning that they use and the tenderness of the meat,......my mouth is starting to salivate just thinking about it all haha Cheese Borak - Now this was something that was entriely new to me. It appears to look like an egg roll, but it's really just doughy cheesy goodness inside. $2.99 for 4 rolls is a great deal for how amazing these things are. There are lots of sides to choose from and they all look and taste fresh. If you are unsure of what sides you want, feel free to ask for a taste. They Friendly staff are more than helpful and happy to help you out. Oh and the actual restaurant is nothing fancy, but very clean, well lit and comfortable. .....Enough said!
