Heard lots of good things about this hole in the wall (literally) Thai food and decided to give it a try. First off the D must stand for DELICIOUS! Simple menu with reasonable (unbelievable) price with an average of $13 per order (cheaper than most fast food). It's a CASH only TO GO place so no seating available. There are a few parking spaces in front but that's about it. Food. We ordered Pad See Ew and Pad Woon Sen (secret menu). I was indecisive on the kind of protein I should get, a sweet lady (owner/chef?) recommended beef for my pad see ewe. Both were delicious and better than most of the local Thai restaurants! So do yourself a favor, grab some cash maybe a few friends and head down to D place!! We definitely will be back with more people so we can try other items on the menu. read more

I always drive by this spot and finally decided to try it out for lunch. This spot has no dine-in seats and you order at the door for takeout. They don't accept card, it's cash only. I'm quite surprised with how low the prices are, very affordable. The portions are very fair and I only ended up eating half of my portion. The spicy fish had a good kick to it, was a medium spice level in my opinion. I didn't realize the fish would have bones in it, but it was easy to eat around. I haven't been to a legit hole in the wall Thai joint since my favorite place closed in Anaheim about 11 years ago. This lady knows her way around the kitchen! I was introduced to D-Thai in the 1990s by a work associate. Because the food was so good, I began frequenting the location. Run by a dear Thai woman, she died all of the cooking. She was so sweet and polite and the food was piping hot when I got it. Now, for the taste test: Eggrolls- not too much flavor, I had to add soy sauce and the fish sauce dipping sauce that comes with it. BBQ pork fried rice- so yummy! Large pieces of bbq pork and she adds tomatoes which gives it a really good complementing sweetness Pad see-ew- good flavor, a little oily but overall a good version especially using Chinese broccoli which I really enjoy but is a little bitter for some people. The sweet little lady running the place and the good food is still ongoing. The restaurant closed for a short period recently and has re-opened. The name of the restaurant changed a bit (the word Chinese was removed from title), but there are no other changes. I love the chicken pad see ewe and my husband says the steamed white rice is the best he's ever had. Like others, I've been getting food to go here for many years. Don't judge a book by its cover. When you walk up to this place, it's blocked off at the door with a table. It's togo and cash only. It's a hole in the wall but don't let its appearances fool you. I was skeptical at first with this being a Chinese / Thai place. How authentic can their Thai food be, but the food is actually pretty good. I've been on the hunt to find good Pad Thai and wanted to give this place a try since they're close by and had good reviews. I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp, fried rice with BBQ pork, and Pad Ka Prow (rice with ground spicy pork). The Pad Thai tasted pretty good. It was saucy, good flavor, and noodles had good texture. My only gripe is that they mixed the bean sprouts. I prefer it on the side. I thought the bean sprout to noodle ratio was too much for my liking. I got the Pad Ka Prow in medium spicy which comes with sliced jalapeños. It actually wasn't that spicy and tasted really good. I got the egg on top. The fried rice with BBQ was my least favorite. I ordered this for the kids. The rice was oily, and the BBQ pork had some hard and fatty pieces. The kids didn't care for it too much. Prices were reasonable and serving size was decent. Hole in the wall place. Been going here for decades, the Thai granny that cooks there knows how to throw it down. Just FYI it's to-go only. I got pad see ew, probably the best I've had in a long time, the cashew chicken was just ok, but the Shrimp salad I got was phenomenal, a perfect balance of Salty, Sweet, spicy, crunchy. Chicken pad see ew and chicken pad Thai were delicious. Very happy with all the flavorful food. Everyone loved Green dish with tofu (steamed veggies dish). This is seriously one of the best Thai places ever! The food is absolutely amazing and it's all done by one woman. She's been open since 1991 so she knows what she is doing when it comes to her food. We live close by and always wanna try it. This restaurant has been here at least over 20 years. We ordered to-go dishes #11 Tum Yum (with Shrimp), #29 Mongolian Beef #33 Stir Fried Garlic and Pepper Pork and #51 Fried Rice (with BBQ pork). Fried Rice has really big portion. Tum Yum Soup tastes authentic but a bit spicy. Mongolian beef and Fried Garlic &Pepper Pork taste a bit greasy. The owner cooks all by herself so it might take a while to wait but in general, good price for what we ordered and the dishes do combine the Thai and Chinese dish flavors. read more

They only accept cash, and it's strictly for takeout with no dine-in option. I ordered the Red Curry with Beef (mild) and Mongolian Beef (medium). Despite their cash-only policy, their prices were comparable to places that accept cards, so I expected a more generous portion. Unfortunately, the quality and portions fell short of my expectations. The Red Curry lacked saltiness, and despite requesting it mild, the spiciness was overwhelming. The Mongolian Beef was quite different from what I've had elsewhere; it felt more like stir-fried beef and lacked the distinctive Mongolian seasoning. The real issue came with the food containers--they were flimsy and prone to popping. They stacked the Red Curry on top of the Mongolian Beef, causing the Mongolian Beef box to crack and resulting in sauce leaking into the bag -- I ended up not having the sauce in the beef box. Given the price point, I'd recommend exploring other Thai restaurants -- that accept cards and offer dine-in, for a more satisfying experience. read more

First off, the lady chef is so sweet and thanked me with a slight bow of her head and pressed her hands together. I really wish I had better sense then to return the greeting. I read this is a standard Thai greeting called "the Wai". Everything was boxed nicely and she even supplied a cardboard box for support. My favorite dish was the beef panang. Don't say I didn't warn you! Not much seating inside, there's a total of 5 tables that can hold 3-4 people each. I came here yesterday around 6:30/7 in the evening and there was no one inside eating. A majority of the people that come here call in their orders ahead, which is smart, because you'll be waiting quite a bit for your food. I ordered the Chicken Larb and with the amount of people that came to pick up their food it took 24 minutes to get mine. I wasn't hangry yet so I didn't mind waiting, and besides, the woman working was running the place solo! The food that was being cooked for the pickup orders smelled delicious, and when my Chicken Larb came out I was very pleased. The aroma made my mouth water. The smell of the mint, the meat, and the spices was noticeable. I was offered an option of Medium or Spicy so being the spicy lover that I am I chose Spicy. MAN!
