I've been waiting for this joint to be open when I'm in the area and after 13 months- Voila! I haven't been to a legit hole in the wall Thai joint since my favorite place closed in Anaheim about 11 years ago. This lady knows her way around the kitchen! This spicy fish tastes identical to my "Essential Spicy Fish" menu favorite. The chef special fried rice is delicious. I know I picked the right spot when she said: "Cash only!" I'ma be a regular here fo sho!

CASH ONLY! This is indeed a spot managed by one lady. She makes everything to order, and will be the only person there so ring the bell if you need service. She was so sweet and polite and the food was piping hot when I got it. Now, for the taste test: Eggrolls- not too much flavor, I had to add soy sauce and the fish sauce dipping sauce that comes with it. BBQ pork fried rice- so yummy! Large pieces of bbq pork and she adds tomatoes which gives it a really good complementing sweetness Pad see-ew- good flavor, a little oily but overall a good version especially using Chinese broccoli which I really enjoy but is a little bitter for some people. Great portions! I ate for like 3 meals.

Don't judge a book by its cover. When you walk up to this place, it's blocked off at the door with a table. It's togo and cash only. It's a hole in the wall but don't let its appearances fool you. I was skeptical at first with this being a Chinese / Thai place. How authentic can their Thai food be, but the food is actually pretty good. I've been on the hunt to find good Pad Thai and wanted to give this place a try since they're close by and had good reviews. I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp, fried rice with BBQ pork, and Pad Ka Prow (rice with ground spicy pork). The Pad Thai tasted pretty good. It was saucy, good flavor, and noodles had good texture. My only gripe is that they mixed the bean sprouts. I prefer it on the side. I thought the bean sprout to noodle ratio was too much for my liking. I got the Pad Ka Prow in medium spicy which comes with sliced jalapeños. It actually wasn't that spicy and tasted really good. I got the egg on top. The fried rice with BBQ was my least favorite. I ordered this for the kids. The rice was oily, and the BBQ pork had some hard and fatty pieces. The kids didn't care for it too much. Prices were reasonable and serving size was decent. I would come back and try their other dishes.

Hole in the wall place. Been going here for decades, the Thai granny that cooks there knows how to throw it down. Just FYI it's to-go only. I got pad see ew, probably the best I've had in a long time, the cashew chicken was just ok, but the Shrimp salad I got was phenomenal, a perfect balance of Salty, Sweet, spicy, crunchy. 'Couldn't recommend this place more. Also i think they do, do To-go platters if you have parties you would want to cater for.

    1. The curry was comforting and delicious! It definitely had some spicy heat! 2. The spot has fast casual vibes as you would normally order, pay, and go! 3. There is no seating available! 4. I only saw a single lady working the register, cooking, and taking the order! Definitely the sweetest! 5. Parking is easy since the lot does not get crowded! Note: This place only accepts cash! We got the Lao style papaya salad, crispy pork fried rice (Nam Kao Tod), and beef salad (Nuam Num Tok), all medium spicy. The papaya salad was fishy, spicy, and had that crab flavor I was looking for. The crispy pork fried rice was so flavorful, especially with the peanuts, herbs, and chiles. The beef salad was probably my favorite, tender beef, red onions, fresh herbs, and a spicy, tangy dressing. So good and packed with flavor. Service was nice and it wasn't busy when we went. Their hours online didn't seem updated though, so we ended up getting there about an hour before closing. I do wish the interior had a little more decor and atmosphere, but the food itself was immaculate. Definitely coming back. 9/10

In regards to the food, as I said it's one of the most authentic to Lao flavors I can get here in OC. I've never had an issue with any item, everything taste amazing, comes out hot and fast, and just hits the spot every time. My favorites are the Nam Kao, Larb, Deep Fried Short Ribs, Pad Kee Mao, Fried Rice, Khao Poon, Khao Piak, Pho Lao, Deep Fried Catfist, Beef Jerky, Lao Sausage, and plenty more that hit the spot. I'm always excited to come here for lunch or dinner. Please give it a try if you've never had Lao Food. Make sure to order some sticky rice to eat with your appetizer and make sure to come hungry.

Show up right at evening opening to even have a chance at getting a table without waiting 1-2 hours. Struggle to find parking. Order food and it kind of takes forever. While waiting for our food, we almost always start to wonder if it's all worth it. And then every time, once the food arrives, that conversation gets dropped. We always order the Manaao Pork Jowl and Khao Soi with braised beef. We also typically order a noodle dish as well. As always, their Khao Soi is fantastic. The flavor is deep and the curry is rich. The beef is always cooked until it falls apart between your chopsticks. The one we were a bit unsure about was why they started to serve the pork jowl with no sauce on the side. We feel like when we first started ordering the dish, the sauce was lightly drizzled on top and served on the side in a small ramekin. Now, all of the sauce comes on top of the pork which seems to have made the dish a bit colder and less crispy. Still, the flavor is dialed, perfectly sweet and tangy. Their noodles are also always fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned. This visit we decided to try a new curry, and went with the Chu Chee Curry with Fried Catfish. This dish blew us away. We were immediately surprised by the generous portion of catfish, which seemed to be a full fried filet. At first, I felt like the batter may have been too thick for my liking. It seemed to be so thick and fried that it would taste crunchy rather than crispy if that makes sense. However, once coated in the curry sauce and enjoyed with the rice, the textures work together perfectly to maintain the crisp of the fry on the fish, which was cooked just right. The curry was light, which meant it didn't overpower the subtle flavor of the fish. We also ordered dessert for the first time off of the recommendation of a friend to try the rice balls in coconut milk with coconut ice cream. The flavor was amazing, and the texture of the rice balls (think mochi but more soft and tender rather than chewy) was very pleasant alongside the crunchy bits of fried mung bean. Our only gripe was that even by the time the dish reached our table, the ice cream was mostly melted. If anything, I feel like serving them separately would help maintain the temperatures, and enjoying them together in that way could create a more satisfying contrast. As always, Manaao is our favorite Thai spot in Orange County. I definitely recommend.
