I am not so familiar with Middle Eastern dishes. So far I found this restaurant offers a good variety of grilled dishes. My choice was Beef Shish Kabob, and it was tender and flavorful. I found the spice on the table called "Sumac" which has dark red/dark purple color. The chef explained that this powder is used for salad and meat. It had slight sour lemony taste with hint of saltiness. It was my first experience to taste this ingredient, and I was very fond of this spice. Please sprinkle this to see if you like it. If it fits your taste, the dishes and rice will be more enjoyable. There is a complimentary lemon water which is good for me as I was on diet. I was really impressed with the speed and accuracy of Kabab Way's handling of the large lunch crowd. As usual, me and the boys make our way around town finding good places to eat and then reporting them to you because we have no other life than to take pictures of food and then post them to Yelp. That's exactly what we did. They have the traditional picture menu with each item numbered to make it really easy. I had the #13 which was ground beef and beef chunks. For $12.50 you get a couple strips of bbq ground beef that is seasoned and marinaded to perfection. It also comes with a strip of beef chunks which is juicy and tender. The plate comes with a roasted tomato, rice, salad, and a pita. Great combo and very satisfying. It gets packed in there and the parking lot fills up but you can park on the street and there's plenty spots out there. I do recommend this place as a good alternative to a burger or chain restaurants. read more

I've definitely had better, but the portions here are huge and the people are nice. The family and I came here because my uncle INSISTED that this place was better than Heidar Baba. We obliged and went. I got the place with chicken lula and beef kebab, and my cousin got the beef lula and beef kebab so we can try both the lulas. Lulas were not great. There is something about them that make them...not as tasty as the ones I've tried before. Their rice is yum. Their beef kebabs are tender and good. The service was nice. Prices were reasonable. When we walked in, mid afternoon, the place was pretty empty. One other customer. What the cashier failed to tell us was that our order would take FOREVER. Yes, forever. The cook manning the grill was cooking for a large takeout order. More customers arrived afterwards, also placed orders, thinking their food would be ready for takeout soon. The sun was blazing hot, beaming in, and we were all sweating with impatience. We wanted our money back. We should have been warned. We went here for lunch pretty early for a weekend, so the restaurant was almost empty. We got the #5 & #9. Basically, it seems like there are two ways to eat here. One is as a full dinner plate and the other being "grab and go" - choose your meat, it comes in a pita bread with rice and roasted veggies. I wasn't a big fan of the roasted veggies. The house dressing is seasoned well and is tangy and not oily like others can easily be. The tabbouleh and hummus are nice complements to your meal. The chicken shish is very juicy. Tried this little hidden family owned restaurant for the first time this evening. The service was on the slower side but only because they're making everything fresh. The food was delicious! They serve you big portions and the prices are very reasonable (roughly $10 a plate). There is indoor seating and outdoor in the patio! Not my usual go-to for Mediterranean food because in Glendale they're everywhere, but our friends like it and they have chicken lule unlike my fave spot. The chicken lule plate comes with basmati rice, side salad, roasted tomato and pita bread. The two servings of lule and the heaping mound of rice was enough to have as leftovers, so that's a major score! If you're a garlic fanatic as am I, you MUST try the garlic spread- unlike any other, I think they make this in house. I wish they sold that by itself to keep at home. It'll keep the vampires at bay for sure! Speaking of house, I asked for the house dressing for the salad, which was a tasty vinaigrette. It's really so good. This place is the best. I go here all the time and there's nothing I don't love about it. A ton of parking out front, great prices, great food. I usually get the beef shish plate and the beef is great. They are able to keep it so juicy and tender. The beef come on top of pita bread and the bread underneath gets soaked with the juice of the shish and it's amazing. The other things they have are amazing too. The food comes out quickly, there's a good amount of seating, great location. They have a big water dispenser up front with cups next to it, which is a small thing but it's nice to have. You have to love a place whose slogan is "No Heartburn." To me that means three things: a) They understand the food they're cooking. b) They understand the customers who are eating their food and most importantly c) Their food is good enough to stand on its own with no kitschy slogan! And so it is! I ordered the #4, beef shish, which was juicy and delicious and melt in your mouth. I don't know what the heck one of the other reviews was talking about when they called it "dry," this was not dry, this was oozing with its own goodness. I also have to give some serious props to whoever prepared the pickled turnip here, I mean come on, PICKLED TURNIP, that doesn't exactly sound like the most tasty thing on the menu but I could not stop eating it. It made a great tang against the meat and pita. Hummus was pretty much par for the course, I've had better but I've had a hell of a lot worse. My lack of a fifth star might just be my own little nitpickyness that will change at a later date, but when I walk up to a fast-food looking counter I expect...well, food that is fast. The wait was longer than I'd been anticipating on my short break from work. That said, I do understand that this is a restaurant, not a fast food joint, and they DO prepare your meal when you order so it will take a little while. I used to love this place and ordered from them regularly, until one day I ordered several chicken thigh kabob lunches and two of them were completely undercooked. I called the restaurant and asked if I could have a refund for the undercooked kabobs only which only works have been a $7 refund, but they said they had to call the owner. The manager only had the authority to replace the kabobs of I drove in to pick them up and returned the rare kabobs. (Photos weren't convincing enough!) I didn't think it should cost my gas money and my time to replace a delivery order that was a health hazard, especially considering I no longer trusted the cook on duty to cook it too a safe temperature. The owner did not authorize even the partial refund, which, considering the potential contamination of the entirety of two lunches, would have been minimal compensation. Hmm, 5 stars for dry, pre-prepared meat?? come on people! This place is pretty close to where I work, a coworker is a fan of (or to better put it, used to) their vegetarian combo, so I had to eat there three times till now. Every time, I just try to convince myself it would get better than the last time, it never did. I tried chicken, beef and combination plates. All their meat is pre-prepared, not grilled fresh, and it's not like they hide that, you can see the skewers under the heat lamp in the kitchen as you go in... The result is dry chunks of beef or chicken that weren't very fresh to begin with, the chicken I would give maybe 2 stars, the beef is barely edible, so a 0 if yelp had such a rating. The salad that comes with the plate is not very fresh either, another co-worker said his salad tasted like detergent, ewww! Do yourself a favor if you are in Glendale, try out ANY of the myriad of kebab places around, since it's gonna be pretty hard to find something that is worse than this, and stay away from this one. read more

Chicken was slow cooked over grill, tender and juicy each bite I had gave me a will come back again feeling. Hummus were fresh not muddy, but creamy smooth. The pickled turnip were fresh too, since it was softer than those other kabob places. I love it when they don't charge extra for the second slice of pita bread. A side of the #1, I ordered a small Tabbouleh and it also taste greats! I'm definitely spreading the word that Kabab Way is far better than Cafe Bravo. Parking was a breeze!! But if get take out, plan on calling in first since they don't cook their meat until you order. Love it!! Will go back there soon!! Also, if you like to eat hot make sure to ask for their hot sauce. This place is fine but its hard to recommend enthusiastically with so many other great armenian/persian/middle-eastern restaurants nearby, including original kabob factory a 3-4 minute walk away. The plates are reasonably priced (~8-10 dollars for most except for some of the more extravagant combo plates), and the sizes are a bit on the low end. The hummus plate is two slices of pita, some hummus, some veggies, and a kabob or two of meet (the lula had much more than the steak from what we ordered). The meat itself is well-flavored and very tender, but again, hard to really recommend over somewhere else. I will however note that the hummus they have is one of the weirdest I have ever tasted. It's not like a traditional hummus and has some strong citrus taste to it. It's not bad persay, just different than what I am used to. I prefer other places'. I do really like their restaurant though! Parking in the back, lots of seating, pretty neat little spot. Just hard to really recommend a return trip with the wealth of other options nearby. read more
