On the way back from a road trip I stopped into Lotus Indian Bistro and was pleasantly surprised. I originally planned to grab takeout but ended up dining in since there was plenty of comfortable seating. The service was kind and the food was genuinely good. Was quite surprised how good everything was! The chicken tikka masala was amazing. Great portion size for the price. The chicken korma was good, not my absolute favorite, but delish none the less. Overall 4 Stars I've been eyeing this Indian restaurant for a few days and my stomach finally suggested I stop here for lunch. So the place is not a "sit down" eatery; more of fast food with tables and outdoor patio to sit and eat your food. Menu is limited with the popular Indian food options however what they have is pretty decent. Service was quick, efficient and the person was friendly at the front counter. Food: 3.75 Stars . - 4.5 Stars We ordered the following: 1. 4.5 Stars - Chicken Kabab Tiki style w Jasmine White Rice - $11.95. Rice was decent but the Chicken Kabab was excellent. The chicken was flavorful, moist and tender. Of course we thought the Kabab would be on skewers but it wasn't. Can't have their clients having sword fights in the middle of the restaurant I guess. 2. 4 Stars - Curry Sauce w Fries. The sauce was in a large container and the French fries were perfectly cooked. Just the right amount of salt. Also, we were happy the sauce was in a container instead of as a topping on the fries; good to dip the fries in. Then any leftover sauce could be use a base when cooking some more protein with it. 3. 3.75 Stars - Lamb Masala w Biryani Rice $17.95. The tomato based sauce was flavorful with Indian spices and herbs, and the yogurt made the sauce creamy. The chunks of lamb was a disappointment due to its chewiness. Tougher than expected but not gamey. The Biryani Rice had a lovely scent from the herbs and spices. Rice wasn't clumpy and each kernel were covered with the saffron and other spices. (4.25 Stars) 4. 3.75 Stars - Garlic Naan $3.99. Can't order Indian food w/out having Naan with it. Gotta' have an edible instrument to scoop the curry or tiki masala sauce as you open your mouth to envelop the gooey goodness. The serving were two breads which were decent but as garlicky as I thought it could be. I like it a little bit more garlic to ward off the vampires but for most people it would be just right. We definitely had a lot of leftovers and will be finishing it off later on today. Could have eaten it all but another engagement came up. Also, the containers used for "to go" are perfect vestibule to heat up the food in. We will save this place for some decent Indian food. Looking forward in trying other menu items on our next visit. read more

Came here just before 6pm on a Friday. The place was empty. Most orders were for pick-up. Service was fast and friendly and I was even offered water.I appreciated that the dining area was quiet, with no loud music playing in the background. I ordered mild chicken curry. It was quite tasty, with a sweet after taste. Portion was ideal. You order at the counter and selve-serve drinks.This place does not serve alcohol. read more

Don't let the (typically) empty dining room put you off. Sahuarita is all about take-out. We have been very happy with all of our meals here, and tried just about the entire menu. Be aware the heat scale here is accurate. When you ask for hot, you get Indian hot. I usually ask for "medium plus" and that gives a tasty hot numbing to your lips. Recommend the wraps and of course garlic naan. read more

YUM! Decided to go for a ride on the trike and decided Indian food would be my destination. Lots of choices, but had my heart set on chicken tikka masala medium heat. It did not disappoint. Enough heat to be tasty not too much to be painful. The sauce was creamy. Also ordered a side of garlic naan. Great compliment to the main dish. Several folks came in while I wanted and ate, but otherwise I was on my own. It was empty when I first got there so I was a bit worried. I guess lots of folks are eating at home more. Check them out. The service was friendly, and even though I went in the afternoon with her were still passive people, dining. The place was generally quiet and I will say that the presentation was beautiful. The staff was willing to answer some questions regarding the menu. I thought that the chicken tikka masala was great with all of the sauces. I even asked for a side of mint chutney which is not traditionally served with the dish and they were very accommodating. If I am being honest the dish that was lacking was the naan. The naan, though it had the RIGHT amount of garlic (I am a proud garlic girl) it was very dry making it seem not as fresh as I would've liked. The flavor was there but it needed more oil. I am not sure if the one on campus is the same owner but I will say that the food was a little different. I would still go back if I had the craving. read more

Well this meal was super impressive. I ordered food out on a whim tonight, and I could not have been happier with my decision. I'm still not going to restaurants for sit-down, so I'm always liking when the restaurant has an easy take out option. I ordered the chicken pasanda, and my husband ordered the chicken tikka masala. Both meals we're incredibly flavorful. The chicken for both meals were super moist and tender. The sauces were amazing. We ordered mild, and mild they were! I didn't have to worry about too much spice, but they were still super flavorful. Naan does not come with the meals, but we ordered a side of garlic naan (2 pieces). So good. The order was out on the counter right when I walked in (in a fancy reusable bag!). I will definitely be going back to try another 2 meals in the near future. Hot New Indian restaurant in Sahuarita! Ordering is amazingly easy so no need to put on your fine khakis for this dining experience. We ordered the lamb curry (in mild for yours truly) which comes with jasmine rice. The Naan bread and chai are perfect pair. Chic decor with casual dining meets convenience ordering. We have eaten here a bunch of times now and each time is terrific. Most everything on the menu is great, and I'm partial to the chefs specials, the naan, and the sides. We have been in several times and really enjoy the food, our only complaint and it is an issue the person who greets and takes your order and mostly a different person each time have a theme of not listening to the entire order. Once again tonight we asked for extra mint chutney. When we got home we found zero mint chutney in the bag! Why can't the order be done correctly? The lack of sauces happens often and once the spice level was off the charts. Portion sizes are decent and their food always comes out hot and fresh. Their Vegetable Samosas are a MUST! My usual order is usually the Chicken Tikka Masala, a side of their Garlic Naan Bread, an order of the Vegetable Samosas, the Gulab Jamun for dessert!
