This is an amazing dining experience in downtown Cary. The best Mediterranean restaurant I have ever experienced, hands down. I have ordered the non-vegetarian meal each time I visited and all the chicken and lamb dishes are so flavorful and fragrant. One of my favorites is the chaat papdi (a chickpea salad), which is served as an appetizer. Their chicken kabobs, especially the chicken bahari is a winner. The owners are the most wonderful loving couple who go out of their way to welcome you and make sure you are pleased. An added bonus is that you can bring your own beer and wine. So far, this is the best Indian food I have had since moving to Raleigh. All of the other Indian restaurants I have tried in the area were lacking in flavor, authenticity, and spice. My family and I shared 8 different dishes of food. Each dish was flavorful and the portions were reasonable. The customer service at Kababish is excellent and the staff is warm and welcoming. I will continue to make the 45 minute drive to Kababish whenever I don't feel like cooking my own Indian food. read more

Ok, the food itself is not so bad but there are many other Indian restaurants in area which have much better quality of food, the Biryani had no taste and the Naan was pretty dry. Sahi Paneer was ok to eat. What I didn't like was the Honesty from Owner/server at the register. I had $10 Gift Certificate to Kababish Cafe, and the Owner charged 18% Gratuity for our meal (It was just my wife and myself). There is no where written either on the Coupon or the Menu for 18% gratuity charge (Menu has gratuity charge only for a table of 4 or more). When I mentioned that to Owner, he lied and said that it's actually written at the bottom of the coupon that I printed and I did not print that particular section where it's written. I was like, fine...whatever...and after coming back home I checked the entire coupon, the site from where I bought the coupon and I could not see about the gratuity charge. I've no issues in paying for the gratuity, but at least you shouldn't lie about something that doesn't exist. NEVER going back! read more

Kababish is our go-to restaurant for South Asian food. Everything is excellent and well-prepared. The owners run the restaurant and always make us at home and happy to be back. We particularly love the Bager-e-Baigan (eggplant) and the Lahori Bindi (okra). read more

Beautiful food. I am usually very critical about food, looking for that flavor, the layers of goodness that accompany a well cooked meal. And this place does it right! The food was so well prepared, gorgeously seasoned. The service was friendly, but sadly fairly slow. And the owner who waited on us, was again very friendly, very pleasant, but even she admitted they needed help in wait service. The quality of the food outweighs the haphazard service tho! We had the garlic naan, vegetable kababs (so good), the meat kabab appetizer, and the tiki marsala was delicious as was the chicken bihari kabab. But bring your own wine/beer! Even with the quick trip around the corner to grab a bottle, I would by far recommend this place as a Must Go To. read more

Wow! This place is AWESOME! It has the best garlic naan EVER! They were able to make my entree 'Indian' hot and then make my daughter's entree 'No Spice' mild and we were both happy! I had the karahi chicken (awesome) and my daughter had the butter chicken (wonderful taste). Wife had the lamb saag (so creamy) and the other daughter had lamb boti kabab (again - wonderful taste). We also got the bread sampler (absolutely fantastic). This family owned cafe is a jewel. As a Downtown Cary resident and lover of Indian/Pakistani cuisine I did not know what to expect. Outside of Udupi (vegetarian) I was driving to Raleigh to get my fill there. Coming to Kababish for the first time was surprising in that their menu is so extensive! I have tried the naan and bullet breads. Yummy in my tummy! My favorite dish is the vegetable kofta which a sort of minced vegetable and cheese rolled into balls and finished off with a savory sauce. Light and savory! I would die for it lol! So good...I have also tried butter chicken and my husband and very picky son love it too. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and even fantastic local music is there on the weekends and even though my family does not drink I notice the owners allow you to bring in your own beer and wine. There is also a fine wine store a block called Chatham Wine that has a great selection too and noticed people were bringing in from there on the night we were there last. My friend Susan tried a dish and is much more adventurous than I and asked for extremely hot. They delivered and she loved every bite! Lunch is great too. Quick , health and delicious. Can't wait for the patio to open! Try this little family restaurant. You will not be disappointed. read more

This place is a welcome addition to our neighborhood! We typically order one veg item and one kebab -- the bagar-e-baigan is great -- savory, flavorful and a little spicy. The lamb kebabs are generous and good as well. The samosas are standard, but our new favorite is the Paneer Pakora -- a little spicy, salty and creamy, it's a great appetizer. Came down here looking at the high ratings on Yelp. We ordered goat biryani, chicken Haleem, and chicken 65. While the food tasted fresh, all the dishes were quite bland. Not worth a 4.5 star rating. The biryani lacks any punch even when asked for it to be made spicy. For a hyderabadi, the biryani I must say was a disappointment. The Haleem was ok but nothing great. I am not very fond of chicken 65 so no comments on it. The service was slow and they seemed confused. read more

A great find in downtown Cary. The food was wonderful and the owners were very friendly and hospitable. The restaurant was quaint and comfortable. We were very pleased with both the chicken tikka and the tikka masala. The tikka masala was slightly more tomato-based than super creamy, but often tikka masala is overly drenched in cream. The samosa are homemade and very good. This is a great spot in Cary for good Indian food and great service. The kindness of the owner's alone would keep us coming back. read more

Having never eaten Pakistani food, my husband and I went to Kababish looking for a cultural adventure. We told the server this and she said, "I'll take care of you!" She made some great recommendations that spanned a variety of unique tastes--some with a spicy kick and others mild; all beautifully presented. My husband particularly enjoyed the chicken bihari kabob which was very tender and the garlic naan --hot and tasty. The best was the dessert, gaajar halwa! Who knew carrots could be a sweet, dessert? We had a great time and some really delish food. We will definitely be back. As a note, she told us we could have brought our own bottle of wine. I gave it 4 stars because atmosphere could have been a little better, but the service and the food were great. We had a wonderful evening. read more

Three of us enjoyed an amazing meal tonight at Kababish Cafe - our first (but definitely not last) visit to this restaurant. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted and seated by one of the owners who proceeded to take care of us the rest of our visit. She helped my aunt overcome her trepidation about getting something that would be too spicy (Chicken & Apricot wrap was the solution). We were served up some delicious papadam and possibly the best paneer pakora I've ever enjoyed (no boring bland cheese cubes here). I had the lamb boti kebab and the meat was perfect with just a slight bit of char to it to add to the flavor. My wife enjoyed Daal Fry which I tasted and also found delicious. The mango lassi was wonderfully thick and to top it all off we took home some wonderful kheer. The staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. The food here is delicious. My favorite is the chicken Bahari kabob. It is wonderfully spicy. It is authentic Pakistan dish and I'd like to explore this cuisine in particular more, My favorite app is the Chaat Papdi which is a lovely cold tangy and sweet chickpea app - you kind of have to try it. My husband keeps on with the Butter chicken.The owners are very nice people with the lady of the house genuinely friendly and cheerful. Bonus: in evenings I love to bring some bubbly to enjoy with the food, it is so refreshing it's BYOB friendly. The atmosphere is casual, not stuffy with serene colors around the room. Parking is good and I'm so pleased they're here in downtown Cary! I don't align with price concerns. The dishes I have ordered are indeed fairly portioned and priced (the bahari Kabab comes with 2 kababs of nice chunks, fragrant rice, and dressed salad, and chutneys come out as needed). Still, if so, try the lunch special - I got the same portion for a couple dollars less, plus it included crazy good new appetizer and dessert with all I just mentioned! I brought some home. We moved to North Carolina from New York few weeks ago and were missing that specific south eastern flavor got used to at restaurants up in NY. After searching and trying out few different restaurants we hit home run with Kababish. Food had perfect flavor and spices, besides you can taste quality. Staff is friendly and attentive ambience is pleasant as this is a new business and part of it is under construction but it's not something that would interfere with dining experience. I am big on supporting local businesses and diversity in my mind is important, my wife and I agreed that this is our new favorite resturant here and will be heading back with friends soon! read more

So I'm very new to Yelp (I usually use tripadvisor), but I decided it was time to hop on the bandwagon. Anyways... This is my first review. And what a place to review! I love this new Cary Indian/Pakistani joint. The owners are super friendly and have on multiple occasions offered delivery when I was sick and since I can't have dairy, they offer to make a different version of the Bihari sauce if I let them know ahead of time. Now THAT is service, and you won't find anything else like it (no, not even at án, one of my other favorites). Anyways, possibly the best I've had of this cuisine (I usually don't like Indian food, and I've had it in probably 6 different countries so I know it's just not usually the taste for me) but wow. A must try especially if you a) live in Cary and crave good food and b) are desperate for something different/tired of spending to much money at án lol.
