Banana cream pie. That's all you need, in my opinion. Nation's is unsuspecting from the outside, but inside it's a treasure trove of pies that one person can find overwhelming. Besides their standard selection of pies, they also have some seasonal offerings available. I tried their breakfast burrito once and it had great flavor. I was surprised but in the best way possible. Gigante (breakfast) burrito ($13.15): this was giante indeed with three scambled eggs, hash browns, cheese, and I chose sausage. First off, the salsa comes in a packet, but it was bland unlike the salsa from McDonald's. This burrito had typical flavors, but a bit dry and I'd stick with a burger from here instead, 3.5/5 stars. French Fries ($3.55): were soggy and under seasoned, 2/5 stars. Onion rings ($4.75): crispy to a well-done, but the onions remained intact and were sweet, 3.5/5 stars. Pies ($6.95 each slice): pecan, lemon creme, banana cream, and blueberry cheesecake: first off, their slices are skimpy. Anyway, the best were the pecan and banana cream pies, as they were sweet. The pecan, of course had a crunchy texture, while the banana cream was light but satisfying, 4/5 stars. The other two were good, but inferior and it's based on your flavor preferences, 3.5/5 stars. This restaurant is very underrated. Surprisingly, not much people come to this place, but they serve all sorts of food: breakfast, burgers, and pies. It's quite unusual for a burger place to have many options for breakfast. It's like I'm in an American diner tbh. It was quiet when I got here, but someone must have left the cup on the seat. Seems like the staff didn't bother to take care of it, but it's not very trashy here. The burger is very good here, but the fries are soggy though. It would have been better if they make it crispy. I also wanted to try one of their pies. The lemon crème pie is very sweet though. I wanted to have some of it, but the burger and fries made me full. So, I'll have some of the pie later. Enjoyed another delicious meal at Nation's the other day. Finding a parking space was a bit of a challenge on this trip, since there were a lot of cars at the Chick-fil-A next door, along with cars at the Wells Fargo as well. We found a parking space not too far away and noticed Nation's was fairly busy too. My wife and son enjoyed their cheeseburgers and I enjoyed my hamburger. We always order fries too. I usually ask for no tomatoes on my burgers, since I'm not a fan of them raw. However, I really like the size of the onion and amount of lettuce they add. Sometimes their onions have quite a bit of bite to them, but I enjoy them regardless. They do sometimes put a bit too much Mayo, but I'm fine with it. I like that they have hot sauce in bottles, to help kick-up my ketchup to enjoy with my fries. The chili cheese dogs are a bit messy, so I just use a fork and I'm good. The staff are always friendly and the restaurant is clean. We also enjoy their variety of pies. Our faves include their apple, lemon crème, chocolate crème and strawberry. read more

Nation's had always been one of my favorite places growing up. They've always had an amazing selection of burgers and pies. My go to place was always Orinda Nation's and I wasn't sure if any place was going to beat that. But, I think the Fremont location is my new favorite! The first thing that's always a must is going to the display case to see all the pies. That way you know which ones of those you're walking out with. I always go for the classic burger, it includes a juicy patty, tomato, onions, lettuce, and generous mayo sauce. This burger was delicious and all the good things I remembered about Nation's burgers. I had my all time favorite of the cheesecake. It's a bit smaller than I remember, but I guess expected due to shrinkflation. It was rich and truly delicious! I have to stay one thing that stood out was the staff was super friendly. The cashier who took my order was very personable and it made it an enjoyable experience. With the inflation after COVID, eating out is so expensive even at fast food joints that serve burgers. Two people and the bill came out to $64+ after tip. The food was ok. Came to pick up a pie for my coworker's birthday, she is not a cake fan and only likes key lime pie. I was excited to find out they now have key lime! $3 difference between a bacon cheeseburger and a cheeseburger. That's what stood out to me first. Well, being the frugal person that I am; decided to use the BOGO $1 coupon from the weekly circular mail. Ordered the gigante burrito with breakfast sausage (other meat choices included ham, linguaca, hamburger or bacon) and the bacon cheeseburger. I'd say maybe one short sausage link in each half of the burrito, which isn't that much. The potato hash will get you full. Eggs looked and tasted some form of powder base. Burger's a burger, def a bigger patty than most places. They toast the bun here, but the lettuce and tomato are raw (cold) so kinda cools down the temp of your burger rather quickly. If dining in, the restaurant is very clean in the cooking area and the floor. Self serve condiment station (bbq sauce, ketchup, and mustard). Not a lot of air circulation indoor though, but you'll sit nice and toasty very quickly. We've visited this place a few times before but the first time ordering a One-egger and it was a disappointment. The menu is a false advertisement of a one-egger description. It clearly stated one egg and a choice of protein, ordered a hamburger patty and to my shock, it only came with HALF of the patty !?! I went back to the menu and nowhere does it say one egger comes with half serving of protein! My family and I decided to try a new burger joint and we've always seen Nation's Giant Hamburgers for years now and never tried it...so we thought, why not! Parking was a little hard because of Chick-fil-A next door, but we got lucky and didn't park too far. I wonder if it's even more tough to find parking during the day. They have cute outdoor seating and the inside of the establishment was very clean. I love that they have a condiment station and another breakfast condiment / coffee station near the drink fountain. I saw some hot sauces too! The menu has a good amount of selection and it's not overwhelming which is nice because for me, a big menu is too much...I didn't even know they served breakfast here which I thought was pretty unique. I've heard a few good things about their pies though! But I didn't know if I would be too full after my burger, so I didn't order one this time around. My family and I got the cheeseburger w/ fries, bacon cheeseburger, and cookies & cream shake. I don't know if it was because my parents and I were talking a lot and we didn't hear anyone calling out for our order, but I feel like none of the employees announced our order when it was ready. I only saw our order sitting on the "pick up" area as I was grabbing ketchup. I only questioned if it was ours because the party ahead of us didn't have their food yet, but when I came up to the counter, they confirmed it was our order. Not sure why they didn't call or gave up so easily calling our order #, I even saw that they had a mic on the counter on their side...but it didn't bother me as much. I was a little disappointed when I got back to the table with the food because I could tell the burgers were sitting there for a few minutes since the burger wasn't that warm, nor were the fries either. The size of the burger is definitely BIG. They had a lot of raw onions and tomatoes in there...and I was a little skeptic because I'm not a super big fan of raw onion and tomatoes, but I thought I'd try it anyway! The onions did have some slices that really kicked, but I still enjoyed the cheeseburger itself! I like mayonnaise in my burger, so I'm glad they put a good amount in there...but if you're not a big fan, I'd ask to put less of it in there. The bacon cheeseburger was also good! And the fries were okay...nothing really special about it. Some were semi crispy, some were a bit soggy... As for the shake, they do advertise it as thick, but the texture was more thin than thick. It was a bit disappointing as well, but it had a lot of Oreo bits in there which was yummy! They have two gender neutral bathrooms which were clean, so it was nice that this establishment is really well cared for. Will I come back for the burgers? Maybe not...but I still have yet to try their breakfast items and pies! (Most people that came after us were mainly ordering their pies) Overall, it was a nice place to try out. I can't believe it's the first time I've ever tried this burger joint! It's fast food but notches above McDonald's, Burger King, and even In-n-out. The burger I got was super fresh, though the onion rings were a tad over cooked which is why I took off one star. The chili burger that my friend got and the chili fries I tried were decent, but nothing too memorable. Portion size was generous enough. Next time I come back I definitely want to try their pies - there's a wide selection and you can purchase by the slice or by the pie. I think they have seasonal ones as well! For this order it took over 40 minutes, waiting inside for my takeout order. Other's received their order before I received mine even though they arrived after I had placed my order. It's a really up keep place with a really nice interiors. The food was really good. Cheeseburger kept warm & it was huge! With that being said, whenever I go to Nation's I ALWAYS order pie. Banana cream pie is a must try. It's my absolute favorite pie to order here at Nation's. (It's one of the pies I bought for my wedding) The slices of banana mixed with the pudding and topped with cream are the perfect bite. First time I've experienced a Nation's before. Good service, and small diner feel. Had a cheese burger and coconut cream pie. This was a giant burger with the perfect amount of onion. The lettuce was a bit soft, but otherwise this was such a tasty burger. The coconut cream pie was a little overly sweet but this was great.
