It's called Mission Tasty Hut aka Mission Burger on the sign still. No pretense, no clever marketing, just a shack in the middle of a bleak expanse of parking lot asphalt. It is absolutely nothing spectacular to look at. It doesn't want to be. But there is a profound, beautiful utility to a place like this. The burger doesn't look like food styling; it looks like a backyard BBQ with a better bun. It's the kind of burger your uncle used to flip on a rusty Weber grill while holding a cold can of cheap beer. It's charred, it's unpretentious, and it is precisely what it needs to be.This is food for the masses. Honest, unchained, and delivered at a price that doesn't insult the working person. It's a reminder that sometimes, the best things in life aren't curated--they're just cooked right.

I recently moved to Fremont and have been looking for good food spots out here. Grub with Mike just posted this spot and it's not too far so I figured why not! Upon entry the restaurant it is kind of tight and intimate but thankfully there is a lot of outdoor seating. The menu had a good variety of items including bobas and teas! I was there for the fish sandwich and fries, which took about 30 min to make which I recommend calling ahead if you are in a rush. It took me about 20 minutes to get eat my meal, despite the wait the food was still crispy and hot and full of flavor! For the price of the sandwich being $10 you cannot beat it. I was thoroughly impressed by the flavor and the size I will definitely be back. I also recommend trying the wasabi honey sauce! They pair very well with the sweet potato fries and bring out the flavor.

Love this outdoor area by Ohlone college, you can Grab your dim sum to‑go from Joyful Dim Sum, then slide over to Mission tasty Hut for that fusion burger with fried shrimp, fried oysters, garlic fries, and all the boba your heart wants. Everything's is perfectly crunch and the custom sauce is heavenly match. I got the popular mango drink and watermelon green tea with lychee jelly are both refreshing! Service is great, they bring the food to you in a paper bag. Ambiance is only for to go but cute seating area with umbrella.

Chicken tenders combo, spicy fried chicken sandwich, garlic fries & Wagu burger & fried shrimp combo

For lunch, I suddenly had a craving for a fried chicken sandwich. Since I haven't tried this place yet, I sent hubby here to buy lunch. We ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich, garlic fries, chicken tenders combo, and Wagu burger & fried shrimp combo. Hubby said his Wagu burger was good. With his combo, he received 5 pieces of fried tiger shrimp and they were good. As for my spicy chicken sandwich, it was a tad too spicy for me (Dave's "hot" level) but the chicken was moist. Unfortunately, as I was biting into the sandwich, I can feel the soggy bread falling off of the sandwich and onto my plate. The garlic fries were good but also soggy. As for my daughter's chicken tenders combo, it tasted normal.

10/10 and we will be coming back! The cheeseburger with shrimps are my favorite! Hubbs loved his fish and chips!

Grabbed dinner here midweek and had a great experience. The place had a casual and inviting atmosphere, with easy parking on a Wednesday. There was lots of outdoor seating, with umbrellas over the picnic tables. And it was easy to order on the self-order kiosk inside the little burger shack (there's only enough space inside to place orders). My food was brought out to me in about 10-15 minutes, packed nicely for takeout, I received a text as well when it was ready. And staff was very sweet. I appreciated the fast and friendly service. Got the surf & turf weekly special which included a wagyu beef cheeseburger (I requested no pickles, but it was served with pickles) and 5 pieces of crispy shrimp that had a light crisp breading and came with a side of delicious tartar sauce. I also got an order of gilroy garlic fries to go along with that, which didn't disappoint. The flavor of the burger gave me BK flame-grilled whopper vibes. It was good, but it was the combination of sauce and toppings that really made this work, the beef patty was small and nothing special. Altogether, I was happy with my meal.

After a Saturday morning of moving stuff at a warehouse, this meal was a much needed mouth orgasm.

Oh boy, I can't tell you how excited I was to see new life breathed into the old Mission Burger spot...now home to Mission Tasty Hut! For those of us who grew up in the Ohlone area, Mission Burger was a nostalgic neighborhood staple, so walking by and realizing something fresh had taken its place felt like a small win for the community. Honestly, after the pandemic, I wasn't sure we'd ever see this corner buzzing again. I stopped in today and left very, very satisfied. I went with the wagyu cheeseburger (juicy, flavorful, cooked just right), a side of garlic fries (crispy perfection with just the right punch of garlic), and a summer strawberry rose lemonade (refreshing and not overly sweet). Simple order, but executed so well. What really caught my attention was the variety on the menu--beyond burgers, they've got calamari, fish & chips, shrimp & chips, and more. Definitely the kind of spot you want to come back to and try something different each time. This is exactly the kind of business we need to rally around. The Ohlone area has seen far too many places come and go--when even Starbucks and Bank of America can't make it, you know it's a tough spot. But Mission Tasty Hut feels like the kind of neighborhood gem worth rooting for. Bottom line: come hungry, bring a friend, and support local. I know I'll be back soon!

I've been wanting to try mission tasty hunt for a long time and I am so glad we were finally able to stop by on a Saturday night. Such a gem! It's literally a hut and a small food shop, but it is honestly so warm and inviting. We ordered their surf and turf, oysters, and garlic fries, and some of their tea. The cheeseburger is so good and meat is so soft and I love that they use brioche buns. We also ordered their fried shrimp and fried oysters. All were cooked to perfection. The only regret I have is that we hadn't come sooner to Mission Tasty hut! We will definitely be returning customers. Love this place!

This place is honestly such a hidden gem I've come to this spot every once in a while for a year now, it seems like they expanded and took over the old Ume Tea spot next door. I came here around opening and there were already a few people ordering. They have a kiosk as well as a register to order at. My family and I got the shrimp & chips with garlic fries, chicken burger, and wagyu burger with shrimp deal. There's no indoor seating, so we sat at the numerous tables outside. The tables were all slightly dirty with oil stains. Once our order was ready the cashier at the register actually came out and handed us the food which was very nice. Everything came out super fresh and hot. I thought the shrimp & fries deal came with a lot of shrimp. The shrimps are pretty large and moist and the breading is crunchy. The fries that come with are pretty garlicky and honestly perfectly crunchy. The tartar sauce that it comes with is pretty flavorful too. The chicken burger has a yummy spicy flavor. I thought that the purple onions it comes with gave it a very rich flavor. The chicken is crispy while the meat is still very soft. Would definitely come again and recommend!

I have been in Fremont so long (of course sadly sporadically and not all the time) and I miss the good old days of what this place once was. FOOD: Meh. I ordered the weekly special of Waygu burger with fried shrimp for $13.99 before tax. The shrimp was good. The sauce with the shrimp was good. The Waygu burger was not good AT ALL, in n out is magnitudes better. SERVICE: self service kiosk. When I was there, the cashier preferred you ordered through the kiosk and was kind of rude about it. Advised you to come in when you receive a text that your order is ready for pickup. AMBIENCE: shared tables outside with others around. PARKING AND LOCATION: small plaza with tight parking spaces but free and private parking lot. Would I come back? No.

Mission Tasty Hut, or Mission Burger, as the building is labeled, is a small, fast food place with no indoor seating. There are plenty of outdoor tables with umbrellas, and the place came up on my search for dog-friendly restaurants, so we decided to try it. You order inside on a computer and they text you when your order is ready. They serve "Wagyu" burgers, and fried seafood options. We got a Wagyu burger and a fried fish sandwich; both were tasty, but rather small. My husband got regular fries and I got sweet potato fries. He enjoyed his; my sweet potato fries were excellent. He got a Jasmine milk tea, and said it was good. My main disappointment, they apparently no longer carry coleslaw or New England Clam Chowder.

Mission Tasty Hut really took off in this area and has been doing much better than the locations in the same area. The food is pretty cheap and the quality is excellent. The surrounding areas smell super good because of the smell of burgers and fries. I've tried their wagyu burger and fried shrimp, where there was clear freshness and quality of ingredients. Taste was way better than any fast food chain. Service is as nice as can be so overall I highly recommend.

We stopped by here on Saturday evening after spending a full day at Lake Elizabeth Park for a birthday party. It was about 10 minutes away and it's definitely tucked in a more quiet side of Fremont. There was plenty of parking and seating is only outdoors, with large umbrella shades. You can either order via QR code or at their counter. My husband was having issues with the online QR code so he ended up placing his order at the counter, which worked out fine. We ordered wagyu cheeseburgers and fried oysters, and my husband ordered a double wagyu cheeseburger. We also each got lemonades in different flavors, which were super refreshing! Their wagyu burgers were one of the best I've had! And for the price, you can't beat it! The fried oysters were also a hit, and we really enjoyed it with the wasabi dipping sauce. We want to come back and try their fish sandwich next time!

I did enjoy the onion rings, super crispy! The philly cheese steak left much to be desired, not a lot of meat. The burgers were solid - lots of food for one sitting. I wonder if they use homemade or frozen patties. I appreciate how they had all star sauce (kind of tastes like thousand island) and how they had a nice condiments section to pack your own Togo sauces. They even had jalapenos! Overall a solid spot for a classic grilled burger.

Juicy, freshly fried wings -- but four pieces would be the sweet spot…read more I spent way too long deciding between the chicken sandwich and the wings, and eventually ordered the six-piece crispy wings with an extra tangy garlic sauce. The wings were larger than I expected. They had a craggy, heavily textured coating that was very crispy when fresh. The breading was on the thicker side, but the chicken underneath was genuinely juicy. When I pulled one apart, the juices actually ran onto the toast underneath. They were also extremely hot right out of the fryer, so give them a couple of minutes before biting in. The wings themselves were not spicy. They had a fairly straightforward savory seasoning and were flavorful enough to eat without sauce, which is important because this was not a case of sauce rescuing dry or bland chicken. The yellow tangy garlic sauce, however, was much hotter than I expected. At first I thought the heat was coming from the wings, but it was definitely the sauce. It had a strong combination of acidity, garlic, and spice, and a little went a long way. The white sauce was milder and easier to use throughout the meal. The wings came with one slice of toast cut in half. It seemed like an odd pairing at first, but it made sense once the chicken juices started dripping onto it. The toast absorbed the juices and also helped balance the richness and heat. The six-piece order was $13.99. That is not especially cheap, but the wings were large, freshly fried, and very juicy, so the portion felt fair. My only issue is that fried chicken this rich becomes repetitive after a while. The first two pieces were excellent, the third and fourth were satisfying, and by the fifth I was starting to feel the grease and heavy coating. Overall, Chicken G's does the fundamentals well: crispy exterior, juicy chicken, and wings that taste good even without sauce. I would come back, but four wings would probably be the ideal portion for me next time.
