I had the chance to try out a fish burger and a cheeseburger from Mission Tasty Hut and really enjoyed both burgers. Between the two, I liked the fish burger a tad more. The cornmeal breading on the fish was super crispy even though I ate the sandwich 30 minutes after it had been prepared. The filet was thick and flakey, and I thought there was just the right amount of sauce and pickles in the sandwich to add a tang and brininess to the sandwich. The cheeseburger was solid, as good as one I would have gotten from In-N-Out, but just at a higher price point. No notes. The fries were the only item that I thought could've been improved. The fries here were on the thicker side, and ended up being quite soggy when I bit in to them. I'm sure a few minutes in an air fryer would crisp them right back up, but the fries also needed to be seasoned with a bit more salt as well. Overall, solid burger spot in Fremont. read more

I honestly didn't have high expectations for this place but I was genuinely surprised! The crispy fish sandwich was so good! The outside of the fish filet was nice and crispy and the inside was soft and juicy! The wagyu burger was like an elevated in-n-out burger with a better house sauce. The veggies on both burgers were also super fresh and the amount of sauce on both was the perfect amount. The fried shrimp was also very good. The batter was well seasoned and it was fried perfectly. The only disappointment was that the garlic fries weren't deep fried long enough to get it really crispy. I also personally would have liked a stronger garlic flavor. You can order from the kiosk station and they'll text you when your order is ready. So if you want to eat there you can just find a seat at the picnic tables outside. I recently moved to Fremont and have been looking for good food spots out here. Grub with Mike just posted this spot and it's not too far so I figured why not! Upon entry the restaurant it is kind of tight and intimate but thankfully there is a lot of outdoor seating. The menu had a good variety of items including bobas and teas! I was there for the fish sandwich and fries, which took about 30 min to make which I recommend calling ahead if you are in a rush. It took me about 20 minutes to get eat my meal, despite the wait the food was still crispy and hot and full of flavor! For the price of the sandwich being $10 you cannot beat it. I was thoroughly impressed by the flavor and the size I will definitely be back. I also recommend trying the wasabi honey sauce! For lunch, I suddenly had a craving for a fried chicken sandwich. Since I haven't tried this place yet, I sent hubby here to buy lunch. We ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich, garlic fries, chicken tenders combo, and Wagu burger & fried shrimp combo. Hubby said his Wagu burger was good. With his combo, he received 5 pieces of fried tiger shrimp and they were good. As for my spicy chicken sandwich, it was a tad too spicy for me (Dave's "hot" level) but the chicken was moist. Grabbed dinner here midweek and had a great experience. The place had a casual and inviting atmosphere, with easy parking on a Wednesday. There was lots of outdoor seating, with umbrellas over the picnic tables. And it was easy to order on the self-order kiosk inside the little burger shack (there's only enough space inside to place orders). My food was brought out to me in about 10-15 minutes, packed nicely for takeout, I received a text as well when it was ready. And staff was very sweet. I appreciated the fast and friendly service. Got the surf & turf weekly special which included a wagyu beef cheeseburger (I requested no pickles, but it was served with pickles) and 5 pieces of crispy shrimp that had a light crisp breading and came with a side of delicious tartar sauce. I also got an order of gilroy garlic fries to go along with that, which didn't disappoint. The flavor of the burger gave me BK flame-grilled whopper vibes. For those of us who grew up in the Ohlone area, Mission Burger was a nostalgic neighborhood staple, so walking by and realizing something fresh had taken its place felt like a small win for the community. Honestly, after the pandemic, I wasn't sure we'd ever see this corner buzzing again. I stopped in today and left very, very satisfied. I went with the wagyu cheeseburger (juicy, flavorful, cooked just right), a side of garlic fries (crispy perfection with just the right punch of garlic), and a summer strawberry rose lemonade (refreshing and not overly sweet). Simple order, but executed so well. What really caught my attention was the variety on the menu--beyond burgers, they've got calamari, fish & chips, shrimp & chips, and more. Definitely the kind of spot you want to come back to and try something different each time. This is exactly the kind of business we need to rally around. The Ohlone area has seen far too many places come and go--when even Starbucks and Bank of America can't make it, you know it's a tough spot. It's literally a hut and a small food shop, but it is honestly so warm and inviting. We ordered their surf and turf, oysters, and garlic fries, and some of their tea. The cheeseburger is so good and meat is so soft and I love that they use brioche buns. We also ordered their fried shrimp and fried oysters. All were cooked to perfection. This place is honestly such a hidden gem I've come to this spot every once in a while for a year now, it seems like they expanded and took over the old Ume Tea spot next door. I came here around opening and there were already a few people ordering. They have a kiosk as well as a register to order at. My family and I got the shrimp & chips with garlic fries, chicken burger, and wagyu burger with shrimp deal. There's no indoor seating, so we sat at the numerous tables outside. The tables were all slightly dirty with oil stains. Once our order was ready the cashier at the register actually came out and handed us the food which was very nice. Everything came out super fresh and hot. I thought the shrimp & fries deal came with a lot of shrimp. The shrimps are pretty large and moist and the breading is crunchy. The fries that come with are pretty garlicky and honestly perfectly crunchy. The tartar sauce that it comes with is pretty flavorful too. The chicken burger has a yummy spicy flavor. We got a Wagyu burger and a fried fish sandwich; both were tasty, but rather small. My husband got regular fries and I got sweet potato fries. He enjoyed his; my sweet potato fries were excellent. We stopped by here on Saturday evening after spending a full day at Lake Elizabeth Park for a birthday party. It was about 10 minutes away and it's definitely tucked in a more quiet side of Fremont. There was plenty of parking and seating is only outdoors, with large umbrella shades. You can either order via QR code or at their counter. My husband was having issues with the online QR code so he ended up placing his order at the counter, which worked out fine. We ordered wagyu cheeseburgers and fried oysters, and my husband ordered a double wagyu cheeseburger. We also each got lemonades in different flavors, which were super refreshing! But I think their selling point here is that they do wagyu burgers. But I'm sure it was quality beef. He would have me go up to the counter and order because he was scared of the lady that had previously worked and Ran Mission Burger. years later Just as if Bell had broken the spell to Beast (Beauty and the Beast) and his whole castle got a facelift Mission Burger got one as well. Im not sure why my dad waited so long to want to try the burgers here as the wicked witch of the west was no longer working and probably following the Yellow Brick Road. I don't like how you can not make orders up at the counter as they prompt you to order through scanning a QR code on your phone. Ordering through the link made it difficult because there was no area to write personal instructions for if modifications were needed. Once I ordered, I quickly flagged down one of the workers and had to verbally tel and explain the modifications that we wanted for our order. At first I think they were really confused, but we ended up getting a free drink because one of us got no cheese on their burger. I like the variety of sides you could get along with your burger such as sweet potato fries, garlic fries, and other seasoned fries. off to the side of the shack stands a large area of many benches with umbrellas gibing a variety of differently sorted shaded seat as the sun begins to set the seating area has lights that turn on and hang over the seats making a really cute area where you could take your instagram girl pictures. Been in a couple of times. This has always been a burger shack, albeit many different versions/owners. This newest incarnation is the most unique and the most 'gourmet' imo. Also the priciest because of the quality they use, along with just everything in general being pricier. It is a roadside stand, where you have to order from a window and either take it away or eat at some picnic benches off to the side. I bet they do over 50% of their orders online or phone orders. No cash either, which is usually not in the norm for roadside stands. 2020s flex yo! Before going into some food notes, I'll lay out the generalities on their concept which I think make them unique. Sure they do basic American burgers but they use better ingredients than your typical burger stand. It just taste super fresh and juicy to me, and they flame broil it, so a unique char flavor is there. Menu says Wagyu Burgers and they are crazy juicy to me. Notches above any fast food. I've only got single burgers so far and I'm gonna have to try their double someday. I bet it'll be an 8 napkin outing. They also do a full fried seafood menu, like fish n chips, fried shrimps, scallops and oysters. I also saw clam chowder and fried chicken sandwiches. I gotta say almost everything they offer, I wanna try. Single Burger & Fried Shrimp Combo ($13/4*) I saw this on special on paper that was hanging on their window. It was my first time trying and where and when can you see a burger and shrimp combo in one plate/basket?! The burger on this out was a bit too charred, like maybe the grill was too hot or the flames got out of control, which can happen when grilling fatty foods. Still not bad but quite noticeable. The fried shrimp were kinda large shrimps with a very crisp and tasty breading, so not the puffy batter type. And you got like 5-6 shrimps so this was quite the protein meal. And to eat fried shrimps instead of french fries just made me feel like a mini-king. Lol Single CheeseBurger ($9ish/4.5*) Burger on my second visit was much better. Same juicy patty except this wasn't as charred as my first visit. If it would have been, I would nix burgers as an option here. But this gave me hope, double burger on the next out for sure. And every component of this burger is in good proportion with each other. Fried Oyster and Chips ($14/4.5*) Actual fresh oysters breaded in the same seasoned breading as the shrimp, very tasty. Some oysters are bigger like 2 bites whilst others were smaller and more crisp. I liked having both. And the sauce they include is pretty good. I saw some reviews that some didn't like it. It isn't really a tartar, but more of a remoulade imo. No big chunks of pickles but rather it is more pureed and I got more onion and mustard to go with that creamy mayo base. Pretty solid to dip fried seafood, even the crisp skinny fries. Wished they had a better drink menu as they only offer like 4 different soda cans, but I get it as they probably can't hold a lot in that tiny stand. Mission Tasty Hut replaces what used to be the old Mission Burger spot. It's been decades since this spot stood vacant. Everyone was so sad to see it close back then. Fortunately, Mission Tasty Hut is not only filling that void but completely elevating the burger scene in Fremont. It's located just off Mission/Anza in that cute, little courtyard. For the last few years, they've closed off part of the parking lot and added umbrella covered, large picnic tables. It's a perfect set-up to get food from one of the 3 or 4 eateries (Japanese, dim sum, boba) in this plaza and grab a seat. This was our first time eating at The Hut and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The hubby had the Wagyu cheeseburger and I had the shrimp burger. Both with garlic fries. It's the first time the hubby ever said "That was a juicy burger. It was simple but delicious". My shrimp burger surprised me. I thought it was going to be a shrimp patty, but instead it was individually breaded shrimp, fried and seasoned to perfection placed atop a soft bun. Seriously...perfectly fried. Perfectly seasoned. So tasty. Also, we both agreed the garlic fries had a good amount of garlic...more than you usually find at other places. Requested this with no problemo, burger was clean & simple: juicy beef patty, fresh lettuce wrap, tomato, onions, & a slice of cheese--no bun.
