In response to restaurant reply: First, I do not understand why you are so angry. It is so unprofessional to say the F word to a customer or anyone for that matter. Second, we have not been back again and again as we have only gone to your restaurant once before the problematic order. Third, only reason we even went back this second time was we are practically new to Arizona and had visiting guests that wanted kabob etc. and we have not tried any other restaurant. Fourth, we did not particularly like your sides and only wanted the meat and you yourself told my husband that you were going to give complimentary veggies and cucumber salad. Also, I think he had merely wondered and asked if there was a discount for cash as others have given. It was no big deal if you said no. Fifth, our order was for almost $500. Sixth and honestly, why would anyone want to go back to your restaurant after being treated this way, you did not have to ban us? Seventh, it is rightful that our deposit be returned in full. Eighth, my husband did ask your wife if payment in full was necessary and she said it was not. Ninth, I do believe it is ridiculous for anyone to request for $120 for free. So, why would we expect that? So, the problem with this came as a surprise. Tenth, we did not apologize. We just wanted to clear the air and not end on a sour note. It continued to feel that you were just angry and wanted to fight. We wanted you to know that if you found it necessary to charge for the veggies etc. which you originally said were free then we'll pay for them and no need to be nasty toward each other.eleventh, we had to hurriedly look for a replacement restaurant for our guests because this all happened the day before our dinner. Last and most importantly, my husband went to your restaurant as good faith to pay for what you agreed was half of the order amount. This counter-service restaurant appears to be family-run and has *delicious* grilled meats, grilled vegetables, and sauces. I called on a weekend months ago to order food, but was told they had run out. I finally got take out on a Tuesday night. The woman at the front is outgoing and friendly. We got a chicken thigh combo, a beef b-arg combo, and a large side of the yogurt mint dip. I was initially struck by the price of the beef b-arg combo ($28), but the meat was good quality and the portions large. With some added greens on the side, we ended up getting four complete meals and two partial meals out of our order - and didn't even finish all the rice. If forced to choose, I think I liked the chicken more. Next time I may also get a large chimichurri sauce because that was also excellent. The parking situation is not great, but maybe there are more spots around back? It is also next to Middle Eastern Bakery/Deli, where you can peruse the market while waiting for your food. read more

ON POINT!!! I saw video on IG and decided to check it out. I got the chicken thighs combo and I was not disappointed. The chicken is tender and flavorful, rice is ricing (light/fluffy/seasoned) and don't sleep on the grilled tomatoes and jalapeños... I was prepared them push aside and dismiss as garnish, but went ahead added one to my plate.... Wow Wow Wubzy!!! Dishes only served in family in sized portions which easily feeds 3 (or 2 really greedy people) so if you're buying for 1 you're covered for leftovers for a few days. The owners are amazing and lovely people!! The aroma of the store is smokey and flavorful and so is the food. The kabobs are seasoned very well and the spice mix is great. The char they get on their grills is superb. Everything they made was made to order. The only critique I had was that the kabobs were slightly dry, but the flavor made up for it. The sides are very healthy compared to traditional American BBQ sides and complement grilled meat better in my opinion since they have great acidity and brightness. Had heard great things but didn't really know what to expect. The place is small, but the gentleman at the counter was very welcoming and treated everyone like family. The skewers are massive, but we wanted to order a variety to taste multiple meats so we ordered two meals and one extra skewer. Needless to say, we could have fed six of us. The gentleman at the counter did apologize for the cooking time, but we told him that we expected freshly cooked kabobs to take a while so please expect 15 to 20 minutes of cooking time. Final verdict is that these were the best kabobs that I have ever tried and would not hesitate in referring this place to out of towners. Finally got to try this local gem today. We tried twice before and they were sold out both times. Placed a huge order because we were starving after a 12 mile hike and their portions are definitely big. We got koobideh, beef barg and chicken thigh combos. The chicken marinade was amazing and beef barg was very tender, cooked perfectly. Koobideh was not our fav but still good. Everything came with the perfect basmati rice, salad and sauces. Let's talk about logistics first. Park behind the restaurant, alley adjacent to the tiny ass strip mall this storefront is in. Next, they recommend you call in your order: follow their advice, 30m ahead of time. Next, unlike any other place, their servings are designed to feed families here: each of the skewers is about the size of your arm, and the pans for combos are enough to feed two people, or one very hungry bear, so order appropriately. On to the food. The pork ribs are unusual, so get those; the chicken thighs are absolutely delish. We tried the beef barg; came off a little dry but this is traditionally made with filet. All of it was packed with flavor. I messed up and didn't get the koobideh, which I'll try next time. The only thing I wish for is maybe not such a heavy smoke like mesquite. Came here because it's in my hood and got voted a top restaurant in AZ. I found out after bite 1. The place is no nonsense because it's meant for you to order and GTFO. Got 2 kabobs tonight, chicken and steak wraps separately. I took that first bite of steak and it all made sense why they are at the top. Flavorful!!! Massive!!! The prices are premium, but for good reason. You get actual great flavor and a few meals from one wrap. I hate restaurants that charge premium prices that don't deliver on simple flavor. This is my first review since COVID began! I decided now that things are normalizing I would start to Yelp again. I think it is really unfair (I'm talking to you, whiney COVID Yelpers) to review a restaurant during an unprecedented pandemic, especially giving them low scores for masks or social distancing issues. This is their livelihood. They are navigating things the best they can. Instead of hitting a restaurant while they are already down, just stay home and cook. I can't believe this was my first time here, living here for 18 years. The kabobs are extremely lean, quality meat. My husband and I got a little bit of everything. When we picked it up, the chef literally brought it steaming out of the kitchen. It was a very generous portion, served with basmati rice and maybe the best salad I have ever had. I got both sauces to try them out and they blew me away. I recommend paying extra for the large size. The meat is amazing tender and well-seasoned on its own, but if you are a sauce person, get both! Busy or not! Good this caveat is known now as it is neither specified on menu nor online. I did not like the food item as it was super tangy and over sauced. My experience didn't justify the extra dollars I spent when compared to other places. Its hard earned. This was an attempt to share perspective with an online user like myself. I love this place. Talk about fresh. It's not often you find owners this passionate about food. Simple menu, but amazingly executed. It's probably a 4.5 vice 5 star, but I can't leave 4.5 stars on here. The good: the service and the sauces. Try them all The great: the protiens . It's fucking delicious. The chef is one of those people who literally gets pleasure from serving good food, and it shows. More importantly, you can taste it. Absolutely delicious. The amazing: the veggies. Fire roasted? Sign me. They are more than just a garnish and add some much needed heat and acid to the meal, and it pairs nicely with the saffron rice. We then realized that it was right down the road from us here in Phoenix and decided to give it a try. Wow! (again) we were not disappointed! We met Tony who is THE personality behind the grill, and caught some of his endless enthusiasm! This guy is a genuine character! Ordered the Beef Barg, which is marinated beef from the teres minor portion of the shoulder, just like filet and super tender. Marinated with a sultry blend of herbs from faraway lands to tease the tastebuds, skewered with onion, roma tomato and a big jalapeño, then slow roasted over an open mesquite grill. The heady aromas fill the entire place! We did not have to wait long as this dish was served to us on a bed of delicately seasoned, steaming basmati. Mouth-watering! Before long, Tony came out to see how our food was and let me tell you, this guy has a gigantic personality! There is something uplifting about this man who is not only great at what he does, but truly, genuinely takes delight in every moment of preparing your meal! I am obsessed with this new restaurant in the 'hood. The owners are so very sweet and helpful, you can pretty much go in and tell them what you want and they build you the best meal you could ask for. It's totally fresh food, you can smell it cooking and see the veggies as they pile them on the grill. There is no space to eat there, but you can bring home extras and eat it for days.
