We wanted to try this restaurant for awhile and we have been searching for a Persian restaurant for awhile. What can I say- it was pretty fantastic. It's pretty basic inside the restaurant in terms of decor but clean. We ordered the lamb shank with rice and the beef kabob combo- very generous servings and friendly service. We've tried every single kabob here, and have never been disappointed. The koobideh, joojeh chicken, and barg are all lovely. The service here could be better, however it usually isn't very busy during the day, so it's not difficult to get what you need. This review has nothing to do with the food. The food is great but their staff is a consistent problem. I get food from here once a week and am regular customer. When I called today, 40 minutes before they were supposed to close, the cool refused to take my order. Despite my insistence, he refused to take my order. Very disappointed. Cooks are supposed to cook the food and should not have any authority over orders. I have been refused to be served in the past at this place and it happened again. Ordered takeout. Got the combo for 2 and the kebabs were great- flavorful and tender. There was no issue with the food really but when I went to pick up the food, service wasn't too friendly. I asked for extra white sauce and they gave me 1 extra small dip container. I guess I should've clarified "extra." Lastly, 1 pita bread for a combo for 2? We are a repeat customer, we love the food. That said, last Sunday evening 12/08/2019 was probably the worst service I have experienced. The restaurant closes at 10pm, we entered at 9pm. The waitress said kitchen closes at 9:30pm. We ordered before 9:30pm. The waitress asked for us to pay before we finished since they were closing soon. That was fine. Then as we were eating she says to eat faster because she has two kids at home. I confirmed with her the restaurant closes at 10pm. It was around 9:40pm or so. I felt rushed to eat and actually loved the food. As she was cleaning up she said we were good customers. I guess because we ate fast. I really didnt appreciate her rushing us when it wasn't 10pm. Food is good but they are very inconsistent if you order take-out. They forget the somag, they don't give you the right yogurt, etc. They frequently get your order wrong. If your in the mood for your mothers Persian food this is the place to go. Living in NY and having a ton of commercial Persian restaurants this place is defiantly worth the drive. The place is very casual not a dress up type at all but the food was off the hook. We hadi the kashkebademjoon which is an eggplant spread with garlic, some mastoMousir (yogurt with shallots) and tahdig which the Persian crispy rice with traditional GhormeSabzi a stew with beef and herbs for appetizer. This might sound like a lot for non Persians lol but it was all so yummy. We also ordered the combo for two which had two skewers of ground beef cooked to perfection, chicken breast kabab and one skewer of filet mignon pieces. This came with saffron flavored basmati rice. We ate the whole thing!!! To top it off we ended the meal with traditional Persian black tea and some baklava. WE WILL DEFINITELY come back and recommend this place to anyone who is into Persian food or even want to try authentic Persian food!! Unexpected gem on Palisade Avenue. I've driven by this place a million times because its midblock , a little hidden, and has no parking out front; however, the food is worth it. I got three of kabob's: koobideh, grilled chicken, and beef. Each of them were cooked to perfection, where the grilled chicken was juicy and the beef wasn't burnt. All too often there is way too much char on kabobs, but KoTC knows how to cook them. Each of them came with a side of your choice basmati rice, shirazi salad, or barbari bread. I got it 2 with basmati rice and 1 with the shirazi salad. I opted not to get the barbari bread because comes with the kabob anyway. The friendly cashier at the register gave me that tip. The rice was great! The other two were nothing to write home about. The food is priced a little higher than some of the other Mediterranean places in the area, but well worth it. I would say if you were going to take out I would call ahead because the food took 20 minutes from when I ordered. I think this will be my new go to place in the cliffside park/ edgewater/ fort lee area. read more

First time trying iranian food. Stopped by on a saturday night and decided on this place rather than istanbul borek nxt door which was packed. There was only one table of guests, but they were iranian, which was a good sign. The woman working there was straightforward and informative. She answered all our questions and was nice. Food was yummy (fyi i was extremely hungry) and portions satisfied even my fata$$. Another two iranian guests came in and talked up an iranian storm with the nice woman. Overall, my fat butt left full as crap and I thought the value was pretty good cuz of the large portions. Also a plus that natives can be found here. Inconsistent food and service. The kabob went from being very good to inedible last two times i ordered. The quality of the meat seems to have changed. Also, delivery is inconsistent, sometimes they delivery sometimes they don't. Lastly, the have weird rules on when you order in or do take out/delivery. Although you are paying the same amount of money, if you order in, you get the Persian bread, if you order out, they will only give you pita. When I asked why, they said the Persian bread was expensive, when I mentioned I'm paying the same amount -- crickets. I live 2 blocks down from this place, I tried it today for the first time.. Here's what I think, I ordered the chicken kebob platter, tasteless chicken no flavor and some of the chicken was undercooked "pink inside". for almost 14 dollars I was expecting a pretty good size lunch meal.. But it wasn't.. The rice and chicken combined not even worth 5 bucks.. It doesn't even look to me like a meal, it's more of a sampler. And usually I get full fast like after half of the meal but with this one I finished it and I was still hungry.. For 14 dollars, you should be pretty full, and for someone like me I should even have left overs. I ordered around 5 o'clock and I was having diner by 6:30 and I finished my diner because I was hungry. They're too cheap with portion, I over paid. Defiantly last time. read more
