    Squid Rings and Pork Gyoza
    Rachel E.

Service was great we've been looking forward to this restaurant opening up. We had happy hour appetizers of pork gyoza and squid rings. Pork gyoza was great. The squid rings i want to love because the flavors were there but the squid was way over done and super hard to chew. Sushi was perfect. I got the Sugar Mama Roll and thoroughly enjoyed. The kids had a California and a Tuna Roll which were both Happy Hour Specials as well. I had the Raspberry Passion Martini that was delicious too off Happy Hour Menu. We got chocolate mouse cake for desert as well. Overall Happy and satisfied.

The restaurant is a nice open concept and has a bar. The bar tender spoke no English so it was not possible to explain what we wanted or what was not right with the food. The pad Thai was extremely salty and when we told her she just nodded her head. We couldn't even eat it. The sushi was decent, but not anything spectacular.

They have nicely decorated section with fake Bansai trees and pebbles. Looks beautiful and clean. There are couple of other trees spaced out throughout the restaurant. The service was a little slow even though we were the only table there at the time. We ordered green teas, hamachi jalapeño app, and 4 rolls to try (green dragon, Hokkaido, sexy crunch, and sweet potato curry). The rolls were generously portioned (expect to pay $25-30 for specialty rolls), the visuals looked pretty decent (served on a small boat), but the flavors were on the bland side for me. The green tea was little too flavorful. The individual pieces of the rolls were little too big than what we were used to. The sushi rice was wet and there was too much rice used for the rolls. But maybe some customers who are used to this might prefer this style more than what I prefer personally. Out of the four rolls, in our opinion, the most unique one was the sweet potato curry roll. It's very different than the traditional rolls you will find at other sushi restaurants. Overall the experience wasn't bad. I might visit again next time just to make sure. But after the first time visit, I am a bit hesitant to recommend this place to others with certainty. Sushi Bang bang is located in a plaza that is hard to find from outside so make sure to follow your GPS. They offer some parking spaces in the plaza where they are located. Please share with me how you liked your experience if you decide to give it a try.

Our server Eugene was exceptional -- knowledgeable, warm, and full of incredible recommendations. We started with the seafood pancake and a chef's special smoked fish dish (I wish I'd caught the name!) whose presentation was absolutely stunning -- every element on the plate was intentional and edible, right down to the flowers. On Eugene's advice, we went all in on the grill: wagyu beef, two orders of pork belly, and the snowflake short rib. The snowflake short rib was the star of the show -- it melted like butter and was absolutely divine. The wagyu was delicious too, though a touch less buttery than the short rib. The pork belly held its own, especially paired with the Ssamjang dipping sauce (a fermented soybean paste and gochujang blend that's the perfect complement). We wrapped up the savory courses with garlic shrimp -- a great finishing touch. The banchan were all wonderful, and it's worth knowing you get three free refills while you're grilling, with additional refills available for a small charge. For dessert, we ordered their halo-halo-style treats in mango and red bean (again, I forgot the name -- but don't let that stop you!). They were delicious -- not overly sweet, with a satisfying texture from the mochi and shaved ice. We loved both, but the mango was my personal favorite. The space itself is beautiful, with plenty of grill tables and a generously sized bar for those who aren't coming to cook. The entire staff was welcoming and attentive throughout. Worth noting -- this business changed ownership about 18 months ago, and the difference is evident: it's exceptionally well-run and the quality of ingredients has been elevated to a whole new level. This is definitely a place to splurge and savor -- everything we had was perfection. If you're in the area or on the hunt for a truly delicious and authentic Korean BBQ experience, this is an absolute must-visit!

We started with Peach Soju, which was light, slightly sweet, very refreshing. The Kimchi Pancake was a great appetizer: crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with that tangy, slightly spicy kimchi flavor that makes it so addictive. For mains, the Beef Bibimbap was great especially during a cooler night. It's a rice bowl served on a sizzling bowl, topped with seasoned beef, vegetables, and egg, and once you mix everything together, you get a perfect balance of savory, spicy, and comforting flavors in every bite. The Soon Tofu Jigae came out hot and bubbling. It is a rich, warming stew made with soft silken tofu and a flavorful broth that's slightly spicy and incredibly comforting. We also ordered the Korean Steamed Egg, which was light, fluffy, and almost custard like. The Chicken Katsu rounded everything out nicely with a crispy breaded exterior and juicy chicken inside, served with a classic sweet-savory sauce. Banchan was included with the meal, which is always a plus. For anyone unfamiliar, banchan are traditional Korean side dishes (like seasoned or pickled vegetables) served with your food to be shared and enjoyed throughout the meal. They really add variety and enhance the overall experience. Yami is consistent providing great food, welcoming service, and a comfortable atmosphere.

Our previously go-to place closed and we picked this restaurant. My husband ordered miso soup, some sashimi and spring rolls. The sashimi was so good that he wound up ordering more - I think it was tuna or yellowtail. I ordered a ginger salad and the dressing was so fresh tasting. The summer rolls were great (loved the sauce) and shumai were very good as well.

There were booths, tables & outside dining under large umbrellas facing the parking lot. The restaurant was attractive. Our booth was large and quiet. We shared a sushi boat that was beautiful, fresh and delicious. There was more than enough food for the both of us, coming with side salads. Our waiter pointed out the wahoo ceviche, salmon, tuna, rolls... our friends enjoyed their noodle dishes that were plated beautifully with an edible flower. Unfortunately, no one came back to check on us or refill our water glasses. We weren't rushed, but we did have to ask for our check. Our meal was reasonable ; less than $30 per person, including tax & a Saturday tip.

The space itself is really nice--spacious, high ceilings, lots of natural light, and (important to me) plenty of bar seating. The staff has always been friendly and attentive, though yes... I tend to make friends with staff at places I frequent. It just happens. Location-wise, it's just around the corner from E Atlantic Ave, which makes it easy to get to without being overrun by the tourist crowds that stick strictly to the Ave. This most recent visit was just for drinks and, surprisingly, dessert (rare sweet tooth moment). I asked what they had and immediately went with the mochi ice cream--no regrets. Four flavors that tasted like green tea, vanilla, strawberry, and mango, all drizzled with rich chocolate and topped with whipped cream. Definitely hit the spot. So yeah--recommend.

Good presentation, simple, did not fall apart, tastes good. Price and portion was a plus 2) Salmon Carpaccio ($12)- comes with 5 pieces, topped with fried garlic and yuzu/truffle oil. I barely tasted truffle and I would think it would have came with more pieces, at least 6-8. Overall, tasted good 3) Beef short rib skewer ($9)- comes with 2 skewers of bite size pieces was underwhelming, a bit pricey. It was dry and def needed some oil and salt to make it juicy and some flavor Service was great! Sushi chefs did a great job with the rolls and apps. Do recommend for happy hour!
