Scallop sushi and out of control roll

Yakitori is still one of our neighborhood go to places. A fellow yelper saw my reviews and asked if they could join us on a date to Yakitori for their first time. Andrea and Mike U. met us last night in the midst of a thunderous rain storm. We had our outside table waiting for us under the awning. And Pat was our waitress. We had a wonderful time and all the great recommendations I bestowed in the past, held true for last night again. Food and drinks were delicious and delivered on a timely basis. The sushi was indescribably beautiful and yummy. I had my pokey bowl and Andrea had the volcano rice. We had a lovely evening and of course look forward to returning again.

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, and tonight was the night! I ordered through Uber Eats and my food arrived promptly and it was packed well. I had a JB Roll and two Shrimp Tempura Rolls. It was a lot of food, and I have plenty of leftovers. The Shrimp Tempura was bogo on Uber Eats. The restaurant paid attention to my notes, and they included chopsticks, and cups of both soy and eel sauce on the side. The sushi was delicious and very fresh. The rolls are large, and shareable. Next time, I will eat there, so I can check out the restaurant. I'm so excited that I found a good sushi place so close to my home!

Yakitori Sushi & Thai has quietly become our go-to spot whenever we're craving reliable, high-quality sushi and Thai food in the area. While we usually order takeout or through Uber Eats, every time we've dined in, the service has been warm and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is laid-back and comfortable -- nothing flashy, but it feels welcoming, with cozy booths and soft lighting that make it an easy place to unwind after work. Food-wise, everything tastes fresh and is beautifully presented. We usually order the JB tempura roll, pad see ew with chicken, and lobster dynamite roll. Portion sizes are generous, and we always end up with leftovers. We first tried this spot because it's surprisingly close to my house, but we keep coming back/ordering in because the food quality and friendly service are so consistent. Whether you're dining in or ordering to go, it feels like one of those hidden gems that's casual yet really delivers on flavor. Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for sushi or Thai without the fuss of a trendier place. They also have a daily happy hour from 12:30-5pm and I love getting the shrimp bang bang and a bunch of the rolls from that menu as well.

Excellent chow, good service, great people who aim to please. Nice to have this place in the area as everything is prepared so nicely, fresh and delicious. Enjoyed Garden Salad (so fresh), Steamed Pork Goyza, California Rolls, Chicken Pad Se-Ew. Wasn't wild about the Crispy Brussels and Bok Choy. Service was excellent. TIP: Their lunch specials are an amazing deal, as is the happy hour menu. The regular menu is fairly priced, so no worries. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

5 stars for service - waitress was great 3 stars for sushi - rice was lacking sufficient rice vinegar and fish was not great. Cooked maki (shrimp tempura) was fine. I am used to paying a lot for sushi and the sushi here was too expensive for being mediocre. 4 stars for cooked Thai food - the members of our party who went with cooked Thai food liked theirs.

More like a 3.5. The food was good, but the service was more than annoying. I knew something was up when I pulled into the parking lot at 5:30 and there was plenty of parking but the restaurant at the other end of the center was packed. I was meeting a friend for dinner and she was already sitting outside on the patio. The restaurant was totally empty and I couldn't figure out why. My friend was on the phone and you could tell it was a work call and the server must have come to the table 5 times in five minutes each time I said please let's wait until she gets off the phone and we will order. Happy hour ends here at 5 o'clock, so I'm not quite sure if that's actually happy hour or a lunch hour. That's probably why the restaurant at the other end is so busy. We ordered some edamame to share and a couple of big rolls. Edamame was served warm and a nice starter. Spiderman Roll- softshell crab, cucumber, avocado with lettuce and eel sauce Red Hot- spicy tuna, tempura flakes and topped with fresh tuna, and a kimchi sauce. The food was excellent. Again, it was the service that was questionable halfway through dinner when we still have food on the plate and she wanted to know if we wanted to box it up. There was a large table next to us and they would use our table to put the food on before they served it to the other table. Quite annoying and not even a can we use this or I'm sorry we're using your table as a serving platter. Our server rushed us the entire time. From the moment. I arrived until the time we got the check. The restaurant was not crowded. There were only two tables filled outside while I was there. One was mine. Oh. And by the way from start to finish, I was only there an hour and 10 minutes so there was no reason to make me feel as if I was sitting at a table for someone else. I like Yakatori in Boca ... this one, a total pass.

We ordered takeout through Uber Eats - everything was really yummy, fresh, and packed well. Didn't interact with the staff too much other than to pick up my order, but everyone was friendly that I talked to. The location itself seemed very nice and well-decorated inside, from what I could see.

We decided to stop by a local sushi spot and I'm so happy we did. This place is right next to the turnpike in Delray. The service was great and very fast. They were very accommodating to my hungry toddler and brought out their food first. The happy hour menu is awesome. They have so many great food items and appetizers as well as drinks. The popcorn chicken was delicious and made fresh. The chicken Fried rice was super flavorful. The everything role was absolutely divine and very fresh and the JB roll was pretty good as well. The restaurant is good for a quick bite to eat or a nice date night for locals. They also can accommodate fairly big parties whether it's inside or outside. Can't wait to come back to try other food items.

This place was AWESOME! It seemed a little warm inside so we decided to sit outside! Both of our waiters were knowledgeable and friendly! Their happy hour (that is everyday) was amazing, such a good variety and great portions. Most happy hour sushi rolls tend to be smaller than the regular size, but not theirs. Even their spicy tuna was a good size and for $6, was shocking! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. I branched out for me and tried the Out of Control roll and it was DELICIOUS! We also had two servings of the spicy tuna biscuits which is their take on crispy rice! Again the portion was impressive! I was also sold on the red dragon roll because it had mango in it. I normally avoid shrimp but it was very good! We did not have any drinks but their prices were also very fare! The only negative besides the pesky fly that wouldn't leave our food alone (which is understandable being outside), would be that we couldn't order a happy hour roll to go even after dinning in. I told my husband we need one of these where we live, we would go daily! If we are ever back in the area we will surely go again! If they added mango to the out of control roll I would make the hour drive once a week!!!

    Coco Banana soup

Wonderful friendly service, solid sushi and Thai dishes including the coco banana soup which was a mild tom kha gai.

Very broad menu including ramen, sushi, tapas and many more Japanese specialties. I started with a Special Nigiri Hamachi, lime soy gel, serrano and micro cilantro. Very nice presentation but I thought it was pricey $9 for 1 piece but very good . For a main, I tried the Ramen Tonkotsu, pork broth, chashu pork belly, soft boiled egg, scallions, bamboo shoots, kikurage mushroom and nori. It was just ok. My had Wonton Soup with napa cabbage, asparagus, scallions and toasted garlic for a starter. Next, she ordered the Jb Roll, salmon, cream cheese, scallions i/o sesame seeds. Both were good. They had a special Strawberry Coconut Margarita which I enjoyed and had to order 2. The spring rolls are really good but it's annoying they only come in 3's whereas other apps come in 4's. The edamame dumplings were very interesting and need the sauce underneath them or soy sauce. The interior is like a mushy pea. Not sure if I will get these again. The vegan ramen soup was so tasty. The rolls are always fresh. My hubby got General tso's chicken which he devoured (oops no pic). Looking forward to my next visit.

The Korean style beef was okay, but I needed to add eel sauce for some extra flavor. The 1/2 California Roll, gyoza and side salad with ginger dressing were fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the sushi roll the most. My two coworkers both ordered different types of sushi rolls. One had fish and the other was a sweet potato roll. The restaurant packed both of the rolls in the same box, which resulted in a mess, as the sauce on one roll got mixed in with the other roll. Again, this was take-out, so I am sure we would have had a different experience if we ate in the restaurant. I would like to try this restaurant again. This was my first time visiting Yama and three things popped up on my mind as to how they were able to stay in business for so many years. 1) The warm hospitality of the owner chef who was Korean, still tending to his sushi bar and his customers after working behind the sushi bar himself for decades in his younger years. 2) The beautifully and intricately designed interior that reminded me of upscale looking Izakaya dining space that was still affordable. 3) The fresh quality ingredients that they use and in house made salad dressing was a nice touch. The sushi was decent. There was too much rice used and too much going on top of the sushi pieces for my liking, but I still managed to finish them. The servers were welcoming and the manager was very hospitable checking up on me to make sure I had everything that I needed. Will definitely recommend this place to others. The parking spaces were limited and it was crowded on a Friday night around 830pm.
