Audrey from Yelp has been coming here regularly and I'm thrilled we were able to join Audrey and Paul for Saturday night dinner. We parked for free in the large lot in front of the restaurant. There is a daily happy hour until 5 o'clock and lunch specials. Bento boxes, donburi bowls & a variety of robata grilled items, made choosing a meal difficult. The casual and beautiful restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night. We sat outside next to the eye catching cherry blossom tree. In front of us, we watched the lightning display as the storm circled us. Pat waited on us and we started with delicious mai tai's. Yakitori is still one of our neighborhood go to places. A fellow yelper saw my reviews and asked if they could join us on a date to Yakitori for their first time. Andrea and Mike U. met us last night in the midst of a thunderous rain storm. We had our outside table waiting for us under the awning. And Pat was our waitress. We had a wonderful time and all the great recommendations I bestowed in the past, held true for last night again. Food and drinks were delicious and delivered on a timely basis. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, and tonight was the night! I ordered through Uber Eats and my food arrived promptly and it was packed well. I had a JB Roll and two Shrimp Tempura Rolls. It was a lot of food, and I have plenty of leftovers. The Shrimp Tempura was bogo on Uber Eats. The restaurant paid attention to my notes, and they included chopsticks, and cups of both soy and eel sauce on the side. The sushi was delicious and very fresh. The rolls are large, and shareable. I knew something was up when I pulled into the parking lot at 5:30 and there was plenty of parking but the restaurant at the other end of the center was packed. Again, it was the service that was questionable halfway through dinner when we still have food on the plate and she wanted to know if we wanted to box it up. There was a large table next to us and they would use our table to put the food on before they served it to the other table. Quite annoying and not even a can we use this or I'm sorry we're using your table as a serving platter. Our server rushed us the entire time. From the moment. Whenever I'm in Florida, I go to Yakitori In Delray because it has a great menu, great food and great service. On August 1, 2026, I treated my 2 friends to dinner at Yakitori. It was busy as usual but we were seated right away because we had a reservation. The server came over and was rude from the start. She tried to rush us to order right away and when we asked questions about the menu, she was visibly annoyed and at one point, rolled her eyes. I asked about the cauliflower appetizer. She said it came with BBQ sauce. When it arrived by another server, it did not come with any sauce so we asked for the BBQ sauce. We were then given a small bowl of very thin sauce but not BBQ sauce. When our server came back, I asked her for more sauce. She seemed annoyed and never brought more sauce. The cauliflower was just plain tasteless pieces of cauliflower that obviously needed a knife to cut up. Our server was so rushed, I never had a chance to ask for a knife. Our sushi arrived and it was delicious as usual. When we were done eating, our server came over with the credit card device and tried to rush me to pay the bill quickly. She stood right over me as I was trying to pay. I felt very uncomfortable and just hurried to pay her. In retrospect, I gave her too much of a tip. We then asked to speak to the manager to complain. An "assistant" manager came over and said the manager was busy. We told the assistant manager about our experience. He said they were very busy. We told him that is NO excuse for rudeness and disrespect. He apologized and said he would inform the manager. We will think twice about going to Yakitori again. read more

Their happy hour (that is everyday) was amazing, such a good variety and great portions. Most happy hour sushi rolls tend to be smaller than the regular size, but not theirs. Even their spicy tuna was a good size and for $6, was shocking! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. I branched out for me and tried the Out of Control roll and it was DELICIOUS! We also had two servings of the spicy tuna biscuits which is their take on crispy rice! Again the portion was impressive! I was also sold on the red dragon roll because it had mango in it. I normally avoid shrimp but it was very good! We did not have any drinks but their prices were also very fare! The only negative besides the pesky fly that wouldn't leave our food alone (which is understandable being outside), would be that we couldn't order a happy hour roll to go even after dinning in. I told my husband we need one of these where we live, we would go daily! If we are ever back in the area we will surely go again! want to start by saying I completely understand how reservations work and that restaurants need to hold tables for upcoming bookings. I've even sat at the bar here before on a really busy night and had no problem with it -- so that part isn't the issue. What didn't make sense this time was that we came in, were told there were no tables available inside or outside (even though there were only a few tables seated), and that the bar was the only option. That would have been totally fine if it was truly full or reserved. But while sitting at the bar, I checked the website and was able to make a reservation for an outdoor table starting just five minutes later. That's where it became frustrating -- being told there's nothing available in person, but then being able to book a table online almost immediately. When I went back to let the host know we had secured a reservation, she huffed and pointed to a bare table at the very end of the sidewalk, saying that was the only place we could sit, despite multiple other open tables. The attitude and lack of warmth made the situation worse. As a young interracial couple, the experience also felt unsettling. We were the only people placed at the bar without a reservation, and even after making one, we were met with irritation rather than hospitality. Maybe that wasn't the intention, but it certainly didn't feel welcoming. We weren't trying to be difficult -- just looking for consistency and basic courtesy. Upon completing our meals, we were satiated but not feeling overly stuffed. Only one person in the group took home leftovers. I had the teriyaki chicken entree with mixed veggies and brown rice. It had a nice tasting, albeit somewhat bland, sauce. I'm admittedly not adept at using chopsticks, and the pieces of chicken were too large to eat with just a fork, so I had to request a knife. My wife had chicken fried rice, which she generally enjoyed although it was somewhat dry. As a fried rice "connoisseur" (seriously - she eats a lot of chicken fried rice), she could not give it a top rating. Three other members of our party all thoroughly enjoyed their lobster pad Thai. The presentation on the plate was also very nice with the noodles being accompanied by the lobster tail shell and a flower garnish. One person had a lettuce wrap with chicken, mushrooms & onions; lobster & shrimp wanton soup; and crispy brussels sprouts. All of the items were flavorful, especially the brussels sprouts. The waiter provided decent but not particularly prompt service. We had to flag him down for a few things throughout the meal. Except for the three ladies drinking a bit too much and getting loud in the corner, we had the place to ourselves. Later on some folks came in to do take out orders. They have a big menu of various lunch specials plus happy hour runs from lunch until 5 pm. There were lots of choices I considered. I started with their HH kani salad. It was a refreshing start with cucumber and crab and masago. It had a slight kick but not overpowering -- just enough to give it personality. After that I had their tempura JB roll. The roll was large and delicious with salmon and cream cheese. And a nice crunch from the light tempura batter. My husband had one of their lunch poke bowl specials. Yellowtail was recently bought and now known as Yakitori. According to the staff, you can still order any of your favorites from the old Yellowtail menu. The staff was very attentive! They would come refill our waters after every sip. Food was great. We had Bang Bang shrimp app, and Mongolian Beef entree (recommended by waiter) and a few sushi rolls. The portions were decent size, the flavors were great, and everything was cooked perfectly. I did upgrade mine from white rice to egg fried rice for an additional $5 charge and I would say the portion was not worth $5. First time we've been to this restaurant prior it was another restaurant that we used to go to so we thought we give it a try. The server was very efficient but no personality. I told him I didn't like Brussel sprouts. he couldn't care less we ordered the brussels sprouts which I asked him if it was like the previous restaurant he said yes it wasn't. It was very oily not worth $14 in my opinion. I also had the pia Thai noodles with tofu. It was OK. We also had the volcano rice, very good.
