This place started off promising with the prompt service. However, as the place got business, I was a forgotten customer and soon realized I wasn't the only one. A table had come in for HH and was getting frustrated at not get waited on as the end of the happy hour time was approaching. I, myself, waited over 30 minutes to get my check. The restaurant is outside the Wellington Mall right off Rt 441 and relatively easy to find especially with a GPS. We were there for Happy Hour which is daily Happy Hour of 3-6:30PM 7 days a week. Came for happy hour. I have been before but finally doing my review. Decent sushi for a good happy hour deal, $5 and $6 on the happy hour menu along with a variety of different tapas. I had the lycheetini which was good, not very sweet and enough liquor in there. We tried the tuna roll, the spicy shrimp tempura roll, the Tanzana roll, angry rock shrimp, and the Krab Rangoon which was just mainly cream cheese not much Krab I could identify but for $5 that's expected. We were there around 4pm on a Saturday evening. It was not very busy but as time went by there was a steady flow of customers in and out. For $13.95 you can get your choice of miso soup or salad and a sushi roll and your pick of a half portion of so many things including pad Thai or many varieties of curry dishes and other things. It's a decent deal, a lot of discounted appetizers and drinks. From the dinner menu I ordered the Pad Se Ew and my brother ordered the Drunken Noodles. Both dishes are quite generous portions of noodles, veggies and protein(s). The place was pretty crowded but we were served our food and beverages in a timely fashion. We went here for happy hour. I am a big fan of Sushi and this is the first place I have ever been to that has happy hour on drinks and food. We sat at the bar a Siri was our bartender and server. We started with a Lycheetini and I asked her if it was sweet and she said it was a little, I asked for it to not be too sweet and she made it perfect! Then we ordered 3 of the $5.00 Happy hour rolls : Tuna Avocado Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll and the Tanzana roll. They were all delish but the Tanzana was probably my favorite but the 3 together were perfect. We also got the Shrimp in a blanket and their Krab Rangoon. I have to say I have had Krab Rangoon when I was younger once and I remember it was mostly fried wonton and nothing noticeable in the stuffing. However, these were really filled and shaped differently. I cant believe that I did not take a photo! We happened on this restaurant by accident. We'd started out to visit a Chinese restaurant not that far away, but it was closed. We just started driving and found Kabuki. We were going to eat outside, but it was way too hot and there were some smokers. So we sat (appropriately social distanced) at an inside table. We were early enough for their Happy Hour menu and we happily took advantage of their offerings at ridiculously low prices. My husband started out with HH hot sake ($7). For my meal, I started with their kani salad -- a mixture of krab, crunchy bits, cucumber, and a spicy mayo. It's not really spicy, more just flavorful. Then I had an order of their gyoza. I got these pork dumplings fried. There were 5 in the order along with a dipping sauce. Both of these items came from the "tapas" side of the HH menu. Then I chose a shrimp tempura roll. In addition to the shrimp, there was avocado, cucumber, and roe. The roll was drizzled with eel sauce. All three items together were only $14 total and quite filling. My husband ordered from the raw and sushi roll side of the HH menu. First, he had their Nigiri sushi. Two pieces come per order and you can select from 5 different types of fish. He chose their yellowtail (hamachi). Then he had a spicy salmon roll -- in addition to the salmon, there were crunchy tempura bits and kimchee sauce. It was "spicy, but not killer" (I'm quoting). He also had a California roll. Service was fine -- not warm and fuzzy -- but efficient and professional. We got our food fairly quickly considering they were busy. Everything was correct as ordered. And they even anticipated my need of sweetener for my iced tea, extra napkins, etc. before we had to ask. This place is a keeper. This was a lucky find and we arrived just in time to take advantage of their Happy Hour prices! $7 saki, $5 rolls and tapas during HH so you can eat your fill of their tasty offerings and not break the bank. I had Tom Yum Shrimp which was perfect in spicy heat. I also had a crunchy spicy Salmon roll and a California roll. Hamachi nigri filled the plate out and each bite was wonderful. My family and I frequently go to the Kabuki located in Wellington off of state road 7 or route 441 by the mall. We have a regular table there and have always had great meals whether for lunch specials, happy hour, or regular dinner hours. We have on occasion closed the restaurant on weekdays and weekends. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We sit adjacent to the sushi bar because I like to watch the chefs at work and have developed a friendship with Chef Jimmy, who always takes great pride in preparing all styles of sushi for us to enjoy. It was valentines evening, we walked in. We could see a lot of people waiting, so we went straight to the bar. The bartender was very welcoming says hello and a wonderful personality. We decided to sit there and enjoy our meal at the bar with her. We started out with a ginger dressing salad and a salmon sushi roll. My husband ordered the pad Thai chicken and I ordered the New York strip teriyaki with rice and vegetables. Everything was delivered in a timely fashion. I would give this place five stars but here are the issues and the scary truth. Cleanliness . At first glance the atmosphere is nice, the design is nice , everything seems clean up until you receive the cups,plates,forks,spoons (...etc) . My next plate came in with my sushi and it had very dirty smudges on it and crusty it was off putting. I ask it for it to be clean and to replace my sushi cus now my food is dirty. However they only cleaned the plate and put the sushi back in the plate. I hate repeating myself and I don't like to appear rude. My entree came out and that plate was DIRTY as well! I love the price range , I love the menu , but I don't like poor cleaning skills on the stuff used to the hood food I'm putting into my body ! No no no . Pleases clean the dishes . The last 2 times we went, she had a horrible attitude & just 2 nights ago greeted us with a "Yeah?" She grabbed 2 menus & walked away, not telling us to follow her. We came as 4 adults, 2 well behaved children and an infant with Reservations on a Friday night at 6pm ( still happy hour going on). All drinks including soda, beer and mixed drinks took on average 30 minutes to get to the table. No joke. And when we asked about even the soda, she told us she would check with still 10 minutes later for it to be given. The food came out in complete random orders and once we got our food, I'll be honest it was all really bad. Don't get the spicy tuna rolls or spicy salmon rolls unless you like spicy kimchi sauce as the "spicy" sauce. Everyone at our table who ordered those did not like them at all. Those were awful. The empanadas are curry inspired, which might have been good, but they were mushy overall. The JB Tempura roll was almost good.
