The ambiance is nice and the food is good, however the service is terrible. On various occasions my friends and I have waited by the "to be seated sign" and no one acknowledges us. The people behind us were confused on how to be seated as well. This needs to be addressed. read more

Went today (9/10/24) and it was an absolutely HORRIBLE experience which put such a bad taste in my mouth that I will not be returning. I will say the inside esthetic is extremely cute and with such a small space I can understand the set up BUT what I cannot and will not understand is RUDE and NASTY staff. I've worked in the service industry and understand bad customers but I am not one. The second I walked in to order a coffee I was uncomfortable and made to feel like a huge inconvenience. It felt like I was in high school with all the girl workers huddled in a circle clearly talking about customers (including myself). On top of the horrible service the coffee was horrible. First time at this new location. Kathryn was our server and she was fantastic. Knowledgable with all drinks and menu items. Party of 4 we had acaii bowls, smoked salmon platter steak, chimichurri steak and eggs, coffees, drinks, aprí spritzers, and tiramisu martini. Everything was perfectly cooked, presented and tasted . Everything was great! Delicious food and the creme brûlée drink was fabulous! The ambience was relaxed and service was good!

Me and one other person walked into the restaurant and waited a little while before someone came over. There was then a line forming behind us, and one of the wait staff started seating people beginning at the BACK of the line as if we hadn't been waiting? We then sit down and order drinks, when ordering drinks we said "we are ready to order food as well!" And the waitress says "oh I have to get some more drink orders and then I'll come back". First of all, why not just take our order all at once? Nonetheless we waited for her to come back, we waited THIRTY minutes. She continued to take everyone's order around us, walking by us and ignoring us at least 5 times. We left without ever getting our order taken. We left some cash for our drinks, but absolutely ridiculous. read more

My wife and I were told about this place recently. We had to check it out. Our waitress Renee was fantastic! My wife had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. I had the pleasure of ordering the crème brûlée French toast. This will blow your mind! I highly recommend both of these breakfast options. The inside is inspired by Arizona with beautiful links and so many plants! My go to is the breakfast burrito, a la vodka pasta, or the lemon pancakes! Brunch and dinner are both divine! I need to start this review off with giving this location the benefit of the doubt by mentioning that they have only been open for a month and that some growing pains for newly opened businesses are to be expected. With that said, our experience this morning was disastrous. I had high hopes and kept rooting for them to bounce back but it just kept getting worse and never happened. To start, it was super busy which is understandable given their interesting menu, location, and small size. It's a somewhat gloomy day but the temperature was fine so they offered to seat us outside to start and then move us inside as soon as a table became available. We placed our drink order with a waitress. I ordered a large honey lavender latte with oat milk and was advised by the waitress that my latte would come in a to-go cup because they only have smalls and medium sizes in the glassware. I said that was fine as this made no difference to me. The rain started just as we saw a table leave. We had just put our order in so to avoid getting the napkins, menus and ourselves wet, we grabbed everything and went inside. As we were doing this we witnessed the same person who offered us the next clear table, seat a party that came after us. We tried to stand against the inside wall to stay out of the way but a waitress came over to us with our drinks (which appeared to be incorrect) and asked that we move to the other side of the restaurant in front of their takeout window. We did as requested but then found ourselves directly in the way of patrons and servers coming and going. As I've mentioned, it is a small location so there wasn't really anywhere else for us to go which added to the frustration. While standing and waiting, a different server came to talk to us and my mother asked if we could sit in the little alcove that had a round bench and a little table attached. We figured this wasn't being used and was out of the way but we were denied. My mother thought this was odd because when she was there last weekend people were seated there. We were really uncomfortable standing we smack dab in the way of everything-so my mom asked if we could get everything to go. This bothered the waitress who started explaining why they did things the way they did. We let her know it really wasn't the events that made us want to take things to go, we just had not had great communication and felt like we were in the way. They doubled down on explaining. By this time we were annoyed because there was no accountability for the lack of communication and follow through on what they proactively offered us. Finally my mom just asked for a manager. A manager came to us and apologized and offered us 3 seats at the bar. She said she knows we had asked them to make our food to go but would tell the kitchen if we wanted to stay. We thanked her and took her up on the offer. As we sat down, we mentioned the drinks didn't appear to be correct because they were not in the containers they advised us they'd be in. She said "well we only do small and mediums for dine in unless you're ADAMANT you want a large." I said I wasn't "adamant" and that this was my first time here and I just ordered one of the sizes offered on the menu. She was like "yeah as long as you're okay with it." Ironically when the "large" latte came it looked to be the same as a medium in the glassware. My honey lavender latte had no lavender or honey flavor at all. While delicious, my French toast was a single slice of bread which made the portion size not worth the price tag. My step father ordered what he got last weekend when they went but mentioned it wasn't made the same way or the size of what he got last time. When my mother asked the server about this, they apologized and told her they had run out which is why it was smaller and not as expected. (This felt shady. Like they were hoping he hadn't been before and wouldn't notice and they still charged the same price.) The final nail in the coffin was my mother's shaksuka. As she was eating I noticed what looked like a long hair hanging from her fork. I told her but she had already put the fork down and didn't see it. About 10 minutes later she took a bite and another straight long dark hair was hanging down with food hanging from it. She saw it this time and was obviously no longer hungry. She showed someone behind the bar who basically said it couldn't be from them because no one that goes in the kitchen has long hair besides her and hers was up. We sort of slow blinked at her because my mom has curly gray hair. The manager saw it and came over agreeing that it was quite long and apologizing. We just finished up and left. Again, I think the lack of communication and understanding how to handle an issue when it arises is a growing pain. However we couldn't in good conscience not post a review after the hair and the food experience. read more

The food is so delicious, especially the Caesar salad and feta dip. I love the aesthetic in the restaurant, not a lot of places in Rhode Island can match that. But for the PRICES on the menu.. I expect better service. I shouldn't have to ask for water 15 minutes into eating my lunch, and you should not DROP THE CHECK when I clearly still have a lot of damage to do food wise. That felt so rude like there wasn't even people waiting to be sat. Service staff needs retraining. Weird, mute, and don't know steps of service. read more

Service below average. Came in around 1pm on a Saturday, everyone around us already had their food. Was sat at a dirty table. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come over to us. Waited another 20 minutes for the food. The chourico hash was extremely greasy, and cold. My partners food was cold as well. At this point the establishment was empty, so no excuse there. There was plenty of staff so it wasn't an understaffing issue. I was excited to try after seeing their instagram, but will not be returning. The menu given at the table is the perfect example of an inaccessible menu. The font was beyond small, we had to hold the menu practically up to our faces. read more

I went there several months ago with my friend, I enjoyed the food and the waitress was very nice.. I told my family how good the food it was and we should plan to go back. I been wanting to go back with my husband. With his schedule so busy but we're finally able to go last night around 6ish. He usually work until 9 or so on Saturdays so last night was treat. We walk in, stood there at the entrance, the staff look straight at us and say nothing, no hi or can I help you. I understand they might be busy but after standing more than 4 mins or so and they just stare and there were like 3-4 staffs is unacceptable. They didn't approach us or offer us a seat. There were a three empty tables. So we approached the girl at the counter, she asked if ordering to go or eat in. I said we like to stay. She turn around and didn't say anything but look at her colleague. Not sure if they waiting for each other to sit us but it was uncomfortable af and the other customers was looking us. So I made the decision to leave after standing for more 5 mins or so without any acknowledgment. The unpleasantness I felt stupid and it was embarrassing. I don't just bad mouth businesses for no reason but I guess they don't feel the need to serve you if you don't have the right complexion and that how they made us feel, I don't care what their excuse was. Kaffeology is a cross between a fast-casual cafe and a sit down restaurant. This location is pretty small, so trying to order takeout and waiting by the bar feels crowded and awkward since there are people sitting down eating and wait staff walking around. If you're ordering a hot meal to-go, anticipate a wait and you may want to wander around Garden City so you don't feel claustrophobic. I suggest they create some sort of text alert system so customers know when food is ready for pickup. The lox plate was deliciously well-seasoned. The bagel it came with was mediocre at best, like a chewy store-bought bagel, but nonetheless I enjoyed it once it was assembled. Both times I've gone I attempted to order an iced draft black tea and both times they gave me hibiscus instead. I blamed the off flavor on the lavender syrup I added but the second time around I asked them and they remade it and let me keep the hibiscus. I'm excited to return for a sit down brunch and try some of their funky coffee drinks. read more

I have been to Kaffeology in garden city two times now and I have a few thoughts. The space is very trendy and has cute decor. The food is absolutely delicious, I have tried the B.A.L.T and Breakfast Burrito and both are so yummy. The drinks are unmatched. My personal favorites are the hibiscus draft tea and the iced mocha. The workers are friendly and polite. The only big issue I have about Kaffeology so far is the lack of space and indistinguishable purpose. I assumed going in that the direction of this business is a cafe type of place but once there, seems more like a mix between a sit down restaurant and a cafe. The issue with this mix is that there is no space for those who are looking for the quick cafe experience. It is awkward navigating through the table set up while trying to wait for your order and coffee. This place is already very popular and busy, which is great!, but I am worried about how the business is going to fix this spacial issue as they begin to grow with more customers. Overall very good and I think everyone should try it. read more

I would like to start off by saying I love the food at kaffeology and have gone MANY times, the service is just horrible . The most recent time was my breaking point , Kaffeology initially closed at 5 but now closes at 9 for tapas , we went in at four which is an entire hour before " close" which is indicated nowhere the waitress told us the kitchen was closing and we needed to put our orders in, apparently they switch to tapas at 4 which is crazy??? ( also none of this is indicated on their website or google it just says they are open until 9, they should at LEAST have a sign on the door) Anyway, we nicely told her okay we feel bad so we will just order drinks, she said " I already told the chef you were ordering so you might as well order" . At this point we were all uncomfortable but ordered anyway. Other times I have gone in they have put bacon in my food when I didn't ask for it ( I'm a vegetarian) and charged me for it, I've had to ask numerous times for simple things like silverware or hot sauce, and overall the inside is small and non accommodating for a " sit down" place. They should have it as a cafe like the other locations. I am normally not one to complain and again I love the food but the service is really bad and unfortunate. If you want the food it is a great place to go but be prepared for bad service . read more

Location is great, esthetics are modern and welcoming, however it is small and was busy so not easy to move around while waiting to get seats or order which also wasn't very clear how to do. The service while polite was not very good and a bit hectic. I chalked it up to being young servers or new job and didn't try to hold it against them. But the food is overpriced and left something to the imagination. Put simply it tasted like cheap product. BUT again I tried to give them benefit of doubt being new. However when I ordered what I thought was a going to be "fresh pressed juice" considering its presentation and received a bottled one from a random company I had seen enough especially for $6. My feeling is that it's presented well and gives the ambience of "high end" or "Fresh product" but the actual experience told me otherwise. Nothing personal but for $70 in garden city for breakfast I was hoping for a bit more. Just my opinion though it is new so try it for yourself! read more
