When visiting Hawaii, most if not some will recommend you Kai Coffee. Here's my take on Kai coffee. Lines will always be long but they work very fast and efficient. Service that they provide is not the best, which nowadays is typical (unfortunately). Staying there in Waikiki I had there Kai coffee iced latte a couple of times. Overall the coffee is a solid 7/10. The line is really long in the mornings. I had to wait 45 minutes for 2 cups of coffee T.T But a top I got from a local is to go to the little shop across the street. They sell the exact same coffee and there's barely ever a line. You can also sit and get a nice view of the beach while you sip on coffee. read more

I just read some of the recent Coffee reviews. The coffee sounds delicious but on our last trip, we didn't really enjoy our flavored latte with oat milk. It was kind of bland and we like super strong coffee so the latte was not a good choice for us. But this place has one of the best locations to sit and chill with a view of the beach. I kept seeing the picture of their Acai bowl as we passed so we had to stop for the acai bowl. The Acai tastes great with berries & banana slices. It's acai in a cup which seems kind of pricey but you're paying for the view. I love acai so I would stop for it again and the view. read more

what is hawaii famous for.... kona coffee... the coffee is supposedly really really really good that its worth paying 2x or 3x... im a coffee snob now. a bit over zealous and have become somewhat of an addict.. i drink 3 cups every day by pour over... some times more... just a little background before i get into the coffee reviews.. i've had kona, yemen, jamaican blue mountain, costa rica, brazil, geisha coffee, etc had them all. except for the cat poo. i think there is a price fixing going on here that every where you go, the coffee beans are the same price??? 12oz for $55 or 6oz for $25-30 well, i can get kona for $25/lb so, i didnt buy any beans at all, just got a cup to see how it taste like everywhere i give this place 3 stars cuz I was surprise the price was lower than the other places relatively speaking of course. its 2x compare to abc but it was cheaper than other places considering that it was in the hyatt or hilton or some high end hotel. the sandwich was good. of course, i also consider it was $13.25 .. i think i got one in paris train station for $2 euro that was better. sorry, that was the last time I got a caprese bagguette sandwich. and paris was way better and way cheaper... the coffee. well, it was $7.25 for a cup of pour over... wow! regular drip was about $4 .. got the peaberry, and I was surprise.. not sure if it was the bean or the person doing the pour over. it was a little disappointing. slight sour after taste as well. but, it was not bad. also, i realize my coffee is better.... usually, kona does not have sour taste. only african coffee or lighter roast would get the sourness. i aint buying any beans!!! i got better and cheaper stuff at home... coffee ok, service good, and saves me time and money now that I realize i got better and cheaper stuff. read more

I visited Kai coffee again as it's convenient if you're hanging out on Waikiki beach. This location is right across the one from the plaza, and lines are just as long. The reason for the long line is they only had two people working when I was there on a Sunday morning. Both were cashiers, making coffees, and also prepping breakfast foods like sandwiches and açaí bowls. If they hired one more person (just a cashier) it would easily make the line go faster. They do this at the other location across the street so not sure why they don't do the same at this location. ESP with two workers who have to switch back and forth with taking orders, making coffee, and prepping food. Ordered the Kai latte again and enjoyed it. read more

Nice local spot for coffee in Waikiki. Try any beverage that has macadamia nuts (when in Hawaii right?) but the iced macadamia nut latte with low fat milk was pretty tasty. Didn't go all the way and substituted milk for macadamia nut milk. A bit pricey and they can get busy so you may have to not only wait to order but your food items may take longer to prepare. Lines were long, so was expecting something a little more interesting or exciting with taste or maybe service due to the extra long lines but nothing special. Right on the street easy to find. Inside has quiet music and tons of murals. They weren't to busy and the barista was super nice and helpful with my order. Love this little spot right on the waterfront to grab a quick treat and gab with friends. They have a whole store right across the street and then this little spot on the water front side with open air and a few tables and chairs. Minimal menu at the waterfront but I can vouch for the chai. And the staff are super sweet. Didn't realize they were close to closing as we walked up and placed our order. But we were able to order, receive and gab it up for a bit while enjoying the drinks before we saw them locking up the gates! Appreciate them giving us as much time as possible. Kai Coffee is a great cafe to swing by for a light breakfast on the go! We had a full day planned ahead and needed something in our bellies before we set out. The line was quite long, but we didn't mind at all. I ordered the Kai Latte with oatmilk and deluxe breakfast sandwich and my sister ordered match and and acai bowl. Everything was a 10/10! Got there right at 6am. (I'm still 3 hours ahead). The line was super short and we were able to score an outside patio table. We got the Iced Kai Latte and a blueberry scone. The first sip of the Kai Latte was a very intense "coffee" kick to my senses. Then I swirled my straw in the cup a bit then took my first sip of heaven. I had to look around as I questioned my mortality. Here I am sitting outside at 6am, with the perfect temperature of 70 degrees, the sparkling views of the crystal clear Pacific Ocean as my taste buds danced in delight at the creamiest caffeinated concoction I've ever tasted in my life. The richness of the espresso, the sweet nuttiness of the macadamia nut syrup, and the creaminess of the Oatmilk (I subbed this and opted out of whole milk) all waltzed together as it overloaded all of my senses and had me questioning if this was indeed, "The meaning of life." When I die and go to heaven, I'm pretty sure there's a Kai Coffee overlooking a gorgeous ocean just like this. "Jesus, just take the wheel already. I'm coming home" P.S.
