We have been to Haven City Market many times and this place just recently opened up. The menu and pictures looked really appetizing so I had to try their "legendary" mountain bowl. Sad to say, the bowl did not live up to the hype and aesthetic appearance of pictures nor presentation. There was really nothing special about the flavor, the beef, but then again, there was nothing bad about it, hence the 3 star rating. It was a good concept for an all in one bowl where you had rice, meat, kimchi, kale and fried onions. I don't think I would go back since the beef wasn't too much different than what you would get at Yoshinoya. read more

Kaidon is located inside the Haven City Market. Here they make Japanese Yakiniku style bowls and other items to go with as a side. Their presentation of food is really nice here and it really grabs your attention. I ordered their Yakiniku Mountain Bowl and it was good. It's not how I would remember it made in Japan but good for American standards as it comes with rice, nori, and mushroom tempura (which was honestly my favorite part). While it was just good I believe the sauce it was cooked it could be the difference maker but either way I would still eat here again and maybe try a different item out. read more

If you're in Haven City and craving something hearty, Kaidon is worth checking out. On my first visit, I ordered the Legendary Bowl, and honestly... it lives up to the name. The flavors just hit all the right notes, and it's been my favorite so far. This time around, I went for the Pork Mountain Bowl. The pork was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the kimchi on the side added that extra punch I didn't know I needed. Everything in the bowl worked together really well, making it a satisfying meal from start to finish. Now, fair warning, the prices here lean on the expensive side, and the food does take a little while to come out after you order. But if you've got some patience (and a hungry stomach), the payoff is definitely there. my friends and i decided to check out this stall at the haven city market - two of us got the legendary yakiniku mountain bowl and the other got the grilled sirloin steak bowl. the yakiniku bowl (4.3/5) was very savory on flavor and the meat was tender. the grilled sirloin steak bowl (4.4/5) was flavorful but a bit chewy. the bowls came piled with other ingredients and i personally loved the fried enoki mushrooms. we also got the sauces (siracha mayo sauce & teriyaki sauce), which paired nicely with the meat. for this food cuisine, i personally feel it was a bit on the expensive side. - the service was pretty slow and we did wait around 30 minutes for our bowls. the yakiniku bowls came out before the sirloin steak bowl so we had to wait an extra 5-8 minutes after. the server did give us a free soda for waiting which was super nice of them. overall, this was a nice stall to try out at the haven city market. read more

This is inside Haven Marketplace. I believe it is a new eatery. There are plenty of choices you can order beef, salmon, chicken, and I believe even tofu. The bowls come with choice of protein, rice, kimchi and a fried root of some sort, I couldn't figure out what it was. But it was tasty. I needed sauce and they have what I think is teriyaki, a wasabi sauce. Both excellent with the bowl. read more

AMAZING. Meat? Perfection. Kale? Perfectly crisped. Enoki mushroom tempura? Perfectly tempura'd. Kimchi? SPICY and so good. The whole thing? Amazing. I don't recall the item number of the bowl I got, but it was the steak strips. The meat is cooked to medium and it was wonderfully tender and seasoned. The bowl consisted of the steak strips, tempura enoki, kimchi, roasted kale, and seaweed atop a warm heaping of white rice and house sauce. The Kaidon food stall is in the main hall of Haven City on the left hand side towards the back (straight across on the right hand side, roughly 2oclock position when entering from GW market). Staff was friendly and food was served timely. Def added this to one of my faves! Can't wait for the next bowl! read more

I ordered for pick up here after seeing what was available for mobile order pick up through the Haven City Market list of makers. I had no idea their score was so low until I went there to check in. Yikes, but honestly, not sure why? I came at the time that they estimated my order to be ready and it was! Very efficient and the workers were friendly. Everything was packaged super nicely and things were separated so that it would not get soggy (the mushroom tempura (??) and the nori seaweed). I got mine as an "upgraded karaage" combo that was on the app, so it came with several large pieces of karaage and a drink. For the drink, I got a guava slush and there was no option in the Toast Tab app to adjust the sweetness, so unfortunately this was WAY too sweet for me, but I was able to take it home, partition it out, and make it last several cups by adding ice and water. Nice, very economical. The cup is also very firm and sturdy with the square shape and lid. My mom wants to keep it and reuse it lol. The karaage chicken was standard, nothing to write home about. Slightly crisp on the outside, the meat wasn't dry on the inside. Went fine with our yakiniku bowl, but if I got it as a standalone side I don't think I'd be as happy. For the main meal, I got their Legendary Yakiniku Mountain bowl which comes with a generous helping of white rice, kimchi, a LOT of their yakiniku thinly sliced grilled beef, toasted kale (I think?), nori seaweed, and the tempura mushrooms. We then snuck this entire ginormous bowl of food into the theaters and shared it amongst 2 hungry adults and we were both full from sharing it. Great rice to protein ratio and mix of textures and tastes. The sweetness of the tender beef, sourness of the kimchi, the earthy toasted crispiness of the veggies, etc. Each bite was a delicious mystery, especially in the dark lol. It is a bit pricy since this was around $30, but I think this was pretty fair since most "Japanese dishes" have that fancy Japan tax on it and this was able to be shared amongst 2. I don't mind coming back to try more of their menu. read more

Just writing this review my mouth is salivating as I think back on the food. We ordered the Canyon City Sampler, and it is without a doubt the way to go if it's your first time. It was enough meat for 3 hungry adults with leftovers. The sampler let us to try every cut of meat they had, and every cut is barbecued to the highest level of quality for the cut. The brisket and ribs were our personal favorites. I was also blown away by how perfect the chicken was. Every side is pure deliciousness. Don't sleep on the cornbread. I wish we would've ordered even more. The texture is perfect. Crisp crunch on the outside and perfect moisture on the inside. The way cornbread should be. The Mac and cheese and coleslaw were absolutely delicious as well. We all wish we would've bought some of their Barbeque sauce to take home. They have 2 main sauces, one for pork and one for beef. I would happily drown myself in either. Our server was very polite, attentive, and made amazing recommendations (though I'm now convinced I could close my eyes, point at the menu, and be a happy camper lol) I seldom have reason to be in the area, but I now will be looking forward to making a trip back to specifically to grab some Canyon City Barbeque.
