Inside the Haven market place next to the main seating area. The sign really attractive to me, I got the grilled rice bowl. It's really hearty Absolutely delicious, the only down side is that I went in a group and this came out after everyone else's food. It's a bit slower than the other restaurant. Next time id order this first.

Service was not great. I was seated at a table in front of the place. The cashier was packing to go while my food was there for 10+ minutes. My food is already cold when I picked it up. The meats are burnt. Not going to come back.

Got the legendary bowl. It was just alright, I would give it 6/10. The meat was a bit burnt & super fatty, which I wasn't a big fan of. The enoki mushroom was too greasy in my opinion, and the kale/ spinach (greens) in the bowl were deep fried.. I do like the sauce and the rice, but other than that, it was just an okay bowl. Given that we went on a Saturday, it was a bit of a wait since there were crowds.

This spot is located inside Haven City. I ordered the Yakiniku Mountain Bowl and it was very yummy. I especially loved their wasabi-type sauce. The bowl was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, and the crispy enoki mushrooms were fresh and stayed crunchy the whole time. The portion was decent, but I'd suggest to add more rice since the bowl was only half-way filled. Overall it was very good and I may order again, but probably not quite worth the price.

I've been coming to Haven City Marketplace for lunch and decided to give this spot a try. I ordered the kimchi chicken bowl. The food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. The first thing I noticed was the small amount of chicken meat in the center of the bowl. It looks like a good portion but thats from the positioning and presentation. The amount of veggies were also pretty lacking as compared to the advertised pictures they had on screen. Taste wise, the food was alright. There wasn't much chicken and sides in comparison to the amount of rice they give. Overall, the food was average and not worth it. I was expecting more meat and veggies, not 70% rice. They were also relatively expensive for a bowl especially compared to the neighboring chinese stalls. Can't say I would recommend this over anywhere else.

Shady Gimmick - "This business offers free drinks if you give them a 5 Star Review. I hate these gimmicks. I refused the drink."

I had a good experience at Kaidon (West Covina). I ordered the Grilled Sirloin Steak Bowl ($23.99). It includes juicy sirloin steak, crispy fried enoki mushrooms, fresh kimchi, kale, seaweed, and clean steamed rice. This meal arrived picturesque and filling. (Quick Note: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment. In addition, this business uses a shady gimmick where they offer FREE drinks for 5 Star Reviews. I will attach a photo of this sketchy gimmick. I HATE it. This business needs more confidence in their abilities.) I arrived at Kaidon (West Covina) on Monday (around 6:49PM). Parking is competitive this late weekday, but I quickly found a spot since the lot is big. Staff (receipt says Ken) is professional and hardworking. Ken answered all my questions; Ken worked nonstop; and Ken was very welcoming. After ordering, Ken gave me an electronic pager that would buzz when my meal was ready. My food took 17 minutes and 12 seconds. As mentioned, I ordered the Grilled Sirloin Steak Bowl ($23.99). It's enjoyable. The steak is thick and juicy. And the steamed rice is fresh and clean. However, its aftertaste of kimchi and kale might dissuade some customers. Still, I found joy in this well-prepared bowl. The crunchy enoki mushrooms also reminded me of a crisp vegetable tempura. Concerning ambiance, Kaidon (West Covina) is a food stall in the popular Haven City Market. The location is very clean with plentiful seating. Also, I enjoy the upbeat music and many flat screen TVs that play the basketball game. It's a comfortable spot. Overall, I had a good experience at Kaidon (West Covina). Bad gimmick aside, this location has genuine promise. The food is filling & good quality; the staff is friendly; and I left happy & satisfied. If curious, I recommend. 4.4 out of 5

This place is located inside Haven City. I'm not entirely sure if the bowl is meant to be Japanese or Korean style, but I wouldn't expect kimchi and fried potato slices (it was supposed to be fried enoki mushroom) at a Japanese spot. The biggest downside for me was the meat. I wish they had asked how well-done we wanted it, and it would have been much better if it were served hot instead of lukewarm. The portions also felt a bit small. We ordered the 10 oz premium grilled sirloin steak bowl, but it felt more like 6-7 oz, which didn't match what was advertised. Overall, it was okay, but it definitely didn't taste very Japanese. I probably wouldn't return for a second visit.

Came here to check out this one item that was trending on TikTok. The Korean pork belly bowl was good. The negative was the customer service, the cashier had no personality and bad attitude when we asked for an additional pork chopsticks and spoon. Just because of this, I would not come back! Restaurant is located inside the Haven Street market.

Absolutely delicious! Been wanting to try this spot, and I'm so glad I did! Came here on a Wednesday and the whole plaza was empty. Perfect day to have the whole place to myself. Ordered the legendary and the top sirloin. The bowls were delicious! Loved the enoki mushrooms and the kimchi was perfect to cut through the fattyness. Husband and I finished the whole bowl. We also ordered the Japanese fried chicken. That was meh, wasn't the best, wast the worst. They should give you a wedge of lemon to add some zest to the chicken but they didn't. It took about 15 minutes for my food, they say quality food takes time. Service: you order from a kiosk, so no service really. On a weekday, there is plenty of seating, the area is well lit, and plenty of other food options to try. Parking: on a Wednesday afternoon empty, on a weekend, good luck. Would definitely be back if in craving this again.

028/2026/Jan Love to come here atvthe Haven City Market to try the different vendors! Kai don was a new restaurant I haven't eaten . Very appealing presentation of the belly pork dish that was served on top of the rice with sides of kimchi , fried enoki mushrooms and a seaweed sheet!! Ordered the guava smoothie and very refreshing!! Very friendly staff ! Will surely ho visit again to try other dishes on the menu!!

Oh wow looks fancy, taste not so dandy.

This place is all about looks, not the taste. It was $20 something for the "LEGENDARY" yakiniku mountain bowl. More like a mountain of rice hidden underneath with so much oil that a country we know would seek it out. It is not as it's pictures, they sold you on the aesthetics. I bought, my mistake. I wouldn't do it again. The beef itself taste pretty good, but it's so greasy that I can't get over it. I eat more rice to cover the taste, just to find more grease at the bottom of the bowl. The fried enoki mushroom is a farce; all the looks with no taste, because it is fried to smithereens. The kimchi doesn't match the vibe of the bowl. I don't get the dehydrated kale, what are they doing in the bowl? The dried unflavored leaves takes away from any flavor it had left. Pretending to look healthy? Too expensive for the portion, too greasy for my emotion. They need a new kitchen staff. This isn't Japanese food lmao.

Grilled Sirloin Steak Bowl and Karaage Combo

Pretty yummy spot in Haven City Market in West Covina. I went on my lunch break and was super impressed by this spot. I ordered the #1 and got the Karaage combo with the mango slushee. The don took 15-20 min to make, but was worth the wait. The chicken was a little oily, but freshly fried, so not too bad. The sauce is very yummy, typical spicy mayo sauce. The don itself had a lot of meet and I loved all the stuff that came with it, like the fried enoki mushroom, the seaweed, the fried kale, and the kimchi (but they only gave a little bit of kimchi so left me wanting more). The sauce on the don was good too, there's a teriyaki like sauce and a wasabi-like/horseradish type of sauce that you could serve yourself on the side, and I got both and was super happy with it. All and all, it's a good spot with good food that's of good quality. Seating is "cafeteria-style" so you may sit with strangers if you don't have a full table, which I didn't mind. It did take a little while to get the food so if you only have a 30-min window for lunch, I don't recommend it, as it could be too much of a time crunch, but all and all I liked it.

I got the "Legendary" Yakiniku Mountain Bowl and it was delicious. Really enjoyed the flavors and combination of ingredients. I've never had tempura enoki mushrooms and I especially liked those. Also nice that the kale was crispy.

We were seated in a cozy booth and our server took our drink orders. Pop music from the 90s/2000s blasted from the speakers but it created a fun ambiance! We ordered hot sake, Sapporo beer, chicken karaage, gyoza, yellowtail carpaccio, a chicken teriyaki bento box, tonkatsu ramen, and two different rolls (Baja and Bomb Diggity). Everything came out paced well and our server was awesome. We never went without and we were checked on plenty of times. Food was fantastic - the yellowtail tasted so fresh and the sushi rolls were "bomb diggity"!! Everyone enjoyed their meals and I wouldn't hesitate to return to try different items from their menu. There is literally something for everyone but the menu also isn't overwhelming. Parking was easy and plentiful on a Sunday afternoon. This was a 5-star meal for sure.

We ordered both the wagyu donburi and wagyu steak bites, and the meat was rich, tender, and literally melted in my mouth. The wagyu paired really well with the rice and each bite felt super indulgent. The Wagyu Sunshine was a nice contrast because the mango salsa added a refreshing citrusy brightness that helped balance the richness. We also ordered the Ginza sushi platter, which was beautifully presented with each nigiri coming on its own plate. The fish tasted fresh and buttery and made for a fun presentation. The chicken katsu was another solid dish -- crispy on the outside while still juicy inside. Also worth mentioning: they have a sushi roll deal where the second roll is 50% off, along with beer and sake specials which make it even better for groups. Overall, a great spot if you're craving sushi, wagyu, and izakaya-style food with plenty of options.

My appt was at 1:30pm and I got to Yashima around 1:40pm. I didn't realize they closed at 2pm but I needed my fix so went in anyway. Not one mention of the time and never rushed me for my order. I knew what I wanted already and ordered almost immediately, but didn't get my food until about 1:50pm. Everything was still cooked to order and tasted great (lunch special with salmon teriyaki, tempura and sushi + an extra order of tako). I eat pretty fast normally and finished right around 2pm. I asked for the check when the server was asking me if I wanted anything else and mentioned that I saw they closed at 2pm and wanted to get out of their way. She was very appreciative but never once made me feel rushed or like I stayed too long. Anyway, I really appreciate the extra level of service and professionalism. Pro tip: they have their own website for ordering takeout and delivery. Will have to try that soon.

July 1st/ 2026 6:02 PM…read more7:30 PM the singer started singing " horrible" Met friends for dinner. Our first time here. We parked in front. Plenty of Parking behind the restaurant too. Opened the dark door, very underwhelming! Small, stark white walls. No one to welcome you, our friend waved at us, so we proceeded to the table. Our waitress stood at the end of the table. We mentioned it was our first time and may we have sometime to look over the menu ? Ok and she left, she came back 30 seconds later, are you ready to order? NO the menu is huge and we need about 5 minutes please. One minute later she said OK what would you like to order ? My husband said, please can we have sometime to look over the menu I do not know yet. The waitress STOOD there staring at us waiting for us to decide what we want. My husband is on page 2 of the menu it is just so big you can't read it all in 30 seconds or one minute.! she wouldn't leave our friend. Finally looked at her and said just a few more minutes please and she just left.. she comes back and we asked for two separate checks before we ordered. I asked for my soup to go to the daughter and it came to me anyway I just gave it to the daughter instead.. the table area where I was sitting at was so sticky and dirty. It was gross one napkin and chopsticks. Never asked if we wanted more napkins or a fork or knife or anything else once we ordered, and our food was brought to us you never heard or seen her at our table again until we asked for our check & to go boxes as she was visiting customers at the sushi bar and very attentive to them. NOT a great first Impression.! When everyone was finished with their meal and needed two takeout boxes, we asked her for them she said OK but she really was interested in the people sitting at the sushi bar and hugged on them and talked to them and we never got our takeout boxes so then we waited 20 minutes 25 minutes comes and my husband gets up and goes to the owner and says can we have two takeout boxes please? Oh yeah sure so we get them we box up our food we asked for our checks. Another 20 minutes goes by. No check after waiting 30 minutes again we get up and ask for the check, you stand there and stare at us waiting to take our order but we never see you again once our food comes and you never finish what you're doing before you go to the next table if you can't multitask then don't do it please. When the food came, I was shocked at the size the tuna rolls they were so tiny. A snail is bigger. I was un impressed with the food. Nothing had any flavor to it. No salt wasabi that was on my plate was so small it was the size of a dime!!!!! and we love our wasabi! What a joke! The restaurant is so tiny and so loud and then they had a singer to celebrate their restaurant anniversary there which was beyond loud. Tables weren't full, but yet people were standing and waiting to be seated. That made no sense.. I am not a fan of TV's on the wall's at a restaurant. Sports bar's OK but not at a restaurant specifically when there is NO Sound. If you are a local and you come to this restaurant often, then the female waitress will love you! If you're new to the restaurant, she'll stare at you and until you order food and then ignore you once your food is handed to you. We will Never be back? Never ever again you couldn't pay me to come back to this restaurant ..! Do I recommend this restaurant in Covina absolutely not no way know how not even if it was free.!!!!! What was good about our experience, the beer, the company and the fact that we left.! Yay.!!!! FYI: my to box is in the trashcan. First impressions are everything and our experience here was horrific. !!!! Please read other reviews about our server and the quality of the food.
